Google
Superb hotel, in a brilliant location. And the staff (from reservations to concierge to restaurant) are exceptional without fault - friendly, helpful, welcoming and go above and beyond. On my flight to Belfast, the person next to me said that staying at the Europa had spoiled them for staying anywhere else in Belfast - and now they've done the same for me. I won't stay anywhere else. Superb value-for money and an exceptional stay.

My two friends and I had a most enjoyable stay at the Europa Hotel last Saturday/Sunday. We loved the Piano Bar and the staff throughout the hotel were so friendly and accommodating. I would particularly like to give Zack a special mention. He went over and above to make us happy at the piano bar. His attention to detail was amazing. I will definitely returning to your hotel. It’s in such a great location and has a really lovely atmosphere. Thanks to all at the Europa.

Went with my mum for lunch in the restaurant before a 2 30 show at the opera house as it was close to the venue and the train station for travel. Haven't been for a couple of years. We went for pre theatre menu choice, good value including tea or coffee. Food was lovely, staff very pleasant and attentive and restaurant very clean, we enjoyed it. We said we'd definitely be back again soon, thank you.

We went for afternoon tea and as always it was delicious. Our server Veronica was as always a delight. From the start we were welcomed by Veronica and she checked on us throughout our experience. Veronica has served us before and she never fails to please. The food was great and the atmosphere was topped off by the fantastic piano player. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

I met with my sister and daughters in law yesterday for afternoon tea and we were all so impressed. The venue was beautiful and our server was so attentive and welcoming -nothing was a problem. One of our party was vegetarian and one gluten free and all the food was absolutely delicious. I have had afternoon tea in other hotels and I thought the Europa’s was 5 star - would definitely recommend it. A really lovely afternoon thank you

Love that it's right across from the train station. The food is lovely and the NYE Gala Ball is amazing. The maintenance needs some attention just, electrics being faulty one year when we stayed in a standard double (the power was out for 24hrs in my room alone) and the shower being slow to drain (and ergo prone to flood) the next year when we stayed in a junior suite. Having no power meant I went to the NYE Ball with wet hair and a creased and wet dress as the iron leaked on it. The concierge was sent up two hours before the ball and said he'd get maintenance on it. I probably should've just been moved rooms, but I went to the ball a bit late anyway with the promise that the power would be fixed while we went to the Ball. It wasn't:/ The faulty electrics were made up for by a complimentary upgrade, which is why we stayed in the junior suite for this year's NYE ball, but nothing was done about the shower flooding the bathroom floor. Maintenance said "if it's draining even a little bit, I can't help". So we couldn't shower while we stayed two nights. The bath was nice though, it took a while to fill up just. Breakfast was nice and even when staff couldn't help, were also nice. Not sure I'd recommend it, since so much went wrong with my stay, but I don't hold it against the staff.

We enjoyed our stay. Beds were very comfy, there was plenty of choice for breakfast and the dinner menu offered enough selection to satisfy everyone in our group. Also the staff were friendly and always helpful.

Google
Great hotel in perfect location in Belfast with beautiful rooms. Sadly let down by poor service from a small number of staff members especially man who greeted us for breakfast. Breakfast was beautiful. Lady’s on reception deserve special mention for there first class service and manners. A few members of staff have a lot to learn about the hospitality trade

Yelp
Most Bombed Hotel in all of Europe... This property is a large beautiful hotel - great location Our rooms were small;however, we enjoyed various amenities Large, excellent breakfast buffet Piano Lounge Bar on first floor - wedding venue We recommend

Alan H.

Yelp
Dreadful tired dreary hotel Rude receptionist with zero customer service skills. No hello, how are you or welcome I cut my hand on a rusty nail protruding from a chair in the lounge area. On reporting the incident the Managers main concern was to get me to sign a waiver. +45 mins to check in and no early check in option Bathroom was filthy and toilet was broken with a ticking sound emitting for the duration of my stay. I reported it but was never repaired Bathroom robe was torn and missing belt

Yelp
I was on a bus tour and had the pleasure of meeting a young waiter named Jack. He was the nicest young man with a wonderful attitude. He was patient with us when explaining items we were not familiar with and his smile lit up the room. Jack chatted briefly with each of us and shared a good laugh, which everyone commented that it put them at ease. GREAT JOB JACK! THE EUROPA IS BLESSED TO HAVE YOU FOR AN EMPLOYEE! Peace, Patti Dore Doreclan@comcast.net

Yelp
An iconic hotel to visit for sure. Whether checking in as a guest or simply enjoying a drink in the lounge, this is a must when visiting Belfast. The staff are all very welcoming, the decor and ambiance calming to the spirit. We enjoyed drinks and light bites while sitting at a window overlooking the city below on this recent visit.

Rod M.

Yelp
An excellent buffet breakfast. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant has a very traditional and comfortable ambience.

Yelp
Here's the thing about this hotel, it's beautiful and is oozing with character. The restaurants and bars are brilliant and delicious. The rooms however make no sense. Put yourself in this scenario, you go out to a night out with a new relationship and end your night in this stunning and romantic hotel. You come into your room and say, I need to use the toilet... we'll there's no door, it's just a piece of glass. So god forbid anyone has to do their business, the person you're with can hear and see everything going on with their body. If it's not just glass, it's smoked glass, which helps with the visual, but is still wrong. Also, who decided not having a full shower door was a good idea? Did you know on average 2 people a day get sent to hospital for bathroom related injuries? If I was elderly and showered, couldn't see because I'm old and how wet I just made the floor because there was half of a shower door gone, then I would slip and hurt myself. It makes no sense to me. There's also no fridge which is incredibly unfortunate. I rest my case. When did humans forget we're humans. Anyways the hotel is great just don't stay unless you're alone and don't mind cracking your head open

Tom M.

Yelp
Very professional service! Front desk were very friendly and polite. Their elevator system is very efficient. The restaurant had a very good breakfast buffet every morning! Our group enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
We stopped by just to say we had a beer in the Most Bombed Hotel in all of Europe. We chose to sit upstairs in the Piano Bar area, looking out onto the street. The ambiance is beautiful; we sat in gorgeous chairs at the elegant table area; laying back and taking it all in. Their beers on tap, while not a lot of variety, provided beer we hadn't seen anywhere else. The staff were very pleasant, it's a nice stop for a brew.

Yelp
I'd love to be able to rate this grand looking hotel higher than one star, but I can't. We were here for a conference where my partner was speaking. Check in is from 3pm but, as all seasoned and frequent travelers know, hotels of a certain calibre often make it possible to check-in earlier; not the Europa. We were told that, unfortunately, we couldn't check-in until all of the rooms for the conference attendees had been made ready. At 3pm initially the receptionist still said it would not be possible to check-in, this time I said I would wait, then housekeeping were called on a walkie-talkie and she confirmed that indeed our room was now ready. On getting to the room, we marvelled at just how clearly we could hear the "fourth floor" announcement from the lift. Thank goodness we were 3 rooms away from the lifts, or it would have been louder. What was louder than the lift announcements was the sound from the room next door, not that they were being loud, just that the wall had all the sound insulation qualities of a megaphone. Unfortunately, that is not the limit of discomfort. The furnishings in the room clearly have not been changed since smoking has no longer been allowed. Our clothes which were over the chairs are now reeking of stale smoke. I couldn't believe it would actually be smoke, I mean, hasn't smoking been banned indoors for a decade at least? Then I saw the lace curtains and there are clear smoke stains on them. This hotel clearly thinks highly of itself, a real shame they don't extend that thought to the health of their guests by removing the smoke remnants. The Europa offered us the opportunity to stay for "the conference rate" of just £100 per night. The room we had wouldn't merit half of that. Finally, on checking out, they didn't bother asking how our stay had been, which is a shame, as I'd gladly have told them.

Melody K.

Yelp
The Europa Hotel is absolutely beautiful. It is a bit difficult if your not familiar with Belfast to actual drive to the entrance and your only option is to valet (if there is self parking it is above my ability to figure it out and no one offered.). The valets were awesome and so helpful. Our room - it was faiirly basic but clean. The issue was there was NO heat. Luckily the hotel sent up people to fix it, but it was just a process and I was tired. The shower was scalding - never really figured that out so we took a quick shower and thank goodness for dry shampoo. There are multiple bars and lounges and restaurants. We had drinks both nights in the piano bar and ordered dessert. So good and they were so nice plus the view was lovely. We ate breakfast in the restaurant off the lobby and it was very good and the staff was willing to accommodate any requests. The lobby bar our first stop upon arrival gets really busy with people stopping in after work, but that made it perfect for people watching. Quick tip from the bartender - our bill had a line for gratuity, as the majority of restaurants did not have this during our travel and we had to switch from Euro to Pound Sterling I asked how much would be a proper and he told me to leave it blank because the hotel would keep it and it is not given to the staff.

Yelp
A really great place for lunch when in Belfast. Comfortable seating and great table service. My wife and I had the twin burgers and the chicken wrap both with chips. Two pints of Guinness and two glasses of water we and the bill came to £32. Very salubrious seating and decor. Well worth a visit. Not to mention it's unbelievable historical standing.

Yelp
I won an overnight stay inc breakfast at my office Christmas party and we used this recently for my birthday. After a lot of shopping in the City Centre we made our way to check in around 3.30pm. Check in was welcoming and pleasant and we made our way to our room. Our room was one of the recently decorated superior rooms facing out onto Great Victoria Street. Room was spacious, well laid out and had everything we needed. Bathroom was bright, modern and interesting with its frosted glass door. Beds were very comfortable and luxurious but the walls between the rooms are very thin and we could hear a lot of noise in the early hours & wake up calls from 6am - however it did not ruin our stay. We had drinks in the lobby bar in the evening before and after heading out for dinner and it's a beautiful area to relax and enjoy a tipple. Prices were standard and staff very helpful. Bar food is available in the lobby bar too and although quite a limited menu, I could've chosen at least 3/4 items to suit my tastes. Breakfast was buffet style but well manned. Everything you'd expect from fried items, cereal, toast and porridge. A hot whiskey station and great selection of drinks, yoghurts, fruits etc. Overall our overnight stay was a lovely way to spend a birthday in the City, a little noisy but I wasn't expecting dead silence anyway :) I have my eye on the afternoon tea offering for next time and I cannot wait to head back this year for our Christmas party again - never had a bad meal in The Europa.

Yelp
My wife and I were fortunate to stay at the most iconic hotel in Belfast. We checked in at 3pm yesterday (Sat) and were amazed by the spacious room and our lovely arrival gifts. We got suited and booted and headed out for dinner and drinks before returning to our massive comfy bed for a great nights sleep. After a long overdue lie in it was get ready, pack and head down to the 120 seater Causerie restaurant for the best hotel breakfast I've had-and all locally sourced and traceable food. Breakfast was a limited continental style, cereals and of course cooked. We had a bit of everything.Breakfast is served until 11am and the restaurant manager Mr Jabbar Abdul looked after us very well. After our late (12 noon) checkout it was off home!! Definitely our top 3 choice for hotel stays in Belfast......when are you going to stay?

Baron B.

Yelp
Called into the piano bar after the theatre last night. Chilled atmosphere and staff were extremely pleasant. A good spot if you want to have a drink and chat. Was tempted to tickle the ivories, but that fact that I'm tone deaf, I'm have imagined wouldn't have went down too well. Shame.

Luciana L.

Yelp
My husband booked this place for its notoriety. It's a great location, too. We must have gotten a standard room. It was nice. The bathroom had a rain shower. The room was small but I think that's kind of how it is in Europe. The parking lot is just behind the hotel. Nice decorated. Definitely has an old world feel.

Mr A.

Yelp
Wow. Big $$ for room. 3rd floor obviously close to ballroom etc. close to 1am and music is still pounding. Not making pictures bounce but close. Choose somewhere else (wish I could post a soundtrack but probably not possible with yelp).

Joel G.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite hotels in Northern Ireland. The place just feels homey, even the cheap rooms. Great view from where our floor was, and lighting in the room just makes you feel at ease, and at peace. The beds were comfy, and wide enough. Unlike other hotels in Ireland, it doesn't get crazy sweaty hot. They have a good temperature gauge within in the room. Everything you need to see is walking distance, and few great pubs to hang out across the street. Don't forget to take advantage of the breakfast buffet in the morning. More Black and White pudding please!

Jim F.

Yelp
5 couples in our group were given rooms on the 8th floor only to be greeted by paint cans, tarps and unfinished painted walls! We walked into our room and found ladders and vacuum cleaners! We went down stairs and the girl took us back upstairs and gave us another room. We still had the whole floor full of paint smell, tarps and ladders outside of our door. They should have put us on a new floor! Instead they just said sorry. This is how they treat Americans? Wow!

Ann Marie M.

Yelp
The hotel is acceptable but I gave it 3 stars for the following reasons: CONS: Bathroom inside room had only 1 bath towel and zero hand towels. No hair dryer in room. Lighting in bathroom was poor and location of room made natural light in main room poor. Good luck putting on your makeup. No gym at the hotel. No adequate seating in lobby. Pillows were too fluffy (no firm option available) PROS: The "one" bath towel in the room was extra large. Within walking distance in heart of city center. Service in restaurant for breakfast was very good. Elevators are modernized for efficiency. Bed was amazingly comfortable.

Courtney C.

Yelp
We stayed two nights while visiting friends in Northern Ireland. This is a beautiful, iconic hotel. The lobby was decorated for Christmas with a gorgeous tree and two toy soldiers. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant, helpful and friendly. Our room as a bit on the small side, but the bed was so comfortable. The mattress was like a cloud and we had two fluffy pillows each. There are no facilities for ice, but the bartender at the Piano Bar gave us ice when we needed it. Breakfast was included, fresh array of sausages, puddings, tomato, mushrooms, poached or scrambled eggs, fruit, soda or potato bread, cereals, porridge, something for everyone. We ate in the restaurant once, and it was okay. I didn't know that Scampi in Ireland is fried shrimp served with french fries. I was expecting shrimp over linguine with garlic and lemon. The potato and leek soup however, was outstanding. Centrally located, within walking distance of so many attractions. Robinsons and the Crown Bar are right across the street. Not very pricey either. If we find ourselves back in NI, we will stay here again !

Yelp
Lovely hotel ... Had a pleasant stay but mostly due to the company. For the price I would rather stay in other hotels in Belfast ... The superior room wasn't as good as some others I had stayed in. I would go back but not as my first choice.

Chris O.

Yelp
Stayed in the Europa for 2 nights at the start of January as a Christmas present from my wife. I would never have considered a hotel in Belfast since we live so close anyway, but in conjunction with the theatre and a few other great events, it really proved worthwhile as a base from which to enjoy various events. The hotel itself was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. The room was large, well-appointed and showed very few signs of wear and tear which was great. The AC was efficient and quiet and kept the room at a stable and comfortable temperature. The windows (aided by being on the 5th floor) isolated city centre noise very well. All in all the room was fantastic and all aspects were as comfortable and convenient as could be imagined, the only drawback being that on arriving in the room at first it was a little cool, although this was quickly addressed by the heating system it took a while longer to warm the bathroom due to the lack of dedicated heating in there. The food in the lounge on the day we arrived was quite average, a little bland, which should not be the case for something so expensive, the coffee was also quite good but at over £4 for an Americano it is very heavily priced. On the other hand the breakfast (included in the price of our room) was excellent. Self-service cooked breakfast, toast, cereal etc was excellent, all cooked to perfection and stocked well on the morning to match the guests so that nothing was left out for long. All in all it was a great experience and one I would be happy to do again, despite not living much more than half an hour away!

Christine S.

Yelp
I was at the Europa at the weekend for a friend's birthday party. The Europa itself is a lovely hotel, the common areas we were in were beautifully decorated, and the stairs leading up to to the suite we were in had a photographic timeline showing the colourful and sometimes troubled history of the hotel. Our party was held in a function room which was spacious, and well laid out with a bar to ourselves. They had laid on a buffet too and the food was delicious! A fun night was had by all, however I take a star off due to the price of the drinks, for example, one coke, plus a vodka and white =just over £14? Robbery!

D. W.

Yelp
Probably the nicest hotel in Belfast City Center. We booked last minute while on the ferry over from Scotland. They only had a room for one night, but we took it. The room was nice and served our needs. Where they really stood out to me was the next day. The man who checked us in remembered us from the day before and let us know that a room had just become available. He even called the hotel that we were going to move to and was able to get that room cancelled at no charge. These are the things that stand out to me. We also used the concierge a couple times and those guys were great as well. They set us up with a private cab tour of the Protestant and Catholic neighborhoods by the peace wall with an amazing history lesson. I would recommend doing this if you have the time. It was amazing. I would give this hotel six stars if I could!

Jack D.

Yelp
Great hotel with very nice staff. The 3 stars are for the ability to sleep, the majority of the rooms are unairconditioned and face a very busy street. It was warm the nights we stayed and our only choice was to open the window and the curtains. All night there were street noises, people leaving the pubs screaming and yelling and the ever present cross walk beeping all night long. Before you think I was on a low floor, I was on the 10th and the curve of the hotel focused the noise so that voices like very near you. The front desk says they are going to ac the hotel one day, just a heads up

Brian C.

Yelp
The Europa is well-known not just in Belfast but throughout the world as 'the most bombed hotel' in Europe... hmm... a questionable tag yes but most of that tag was earned many years ago so dont worry too much. The hotel in itself is one of the top 3 or 4 in the city. My parents stayed in here (i have a house) but i did meet them for a drink or five in the hotel bar. Very very clean and friendly hotel. The staff are very nice and smile even though you know hotel work must be a pain. The hotel is located in the heart of Belfast and stuck onto the bus station so even the most inept tourist will not get lost. Definately recommended

Tia C.

Yelp
The Europa is Belfast best known hotel and also the one Hillary Clinton chose to stay in when she visited Belfast last year. Apparently she booked the entire top floor and brought her own linen. The hotel is luxurious and lives up to it star rating with 272 top class rooms. I've drank in the piano bar upstairs before whilst waiting for a bus and the bar was very nice and luxurious. I sank down into the deep sofa. The bar also has great views of Belfast. The staff were very conscientious and very helpful. Of course it has the infamous tag of being the 'most bombed hotel in Europe', but don't let that put you off.

Laura C.

Yelp
As everyone knows, the Europa was once the most bombed hotel in Europe - a fact Billy Connolly said 'Thanks for ****ing telling me' when made aware of it on checking in. Apparently this was because journalist types could most often be found in the pub The Crown just across the road, so the bombers knew this was the most likely spot to bomb so that the story would get out as soon as possible. As a journalist this accurate assessment of our work habits pleases me, even if I would have been peeved at the time to leave my drink behind. I haven't stayed in the Europa, but, also like pretty much everyone, have passed through its doors several times, for job interviews, journalist interviews, conferences or nights out, and it's a lovely spot to visit. I always feel like a bit of a pleb going into expensive places, like I think someone's going to clap their hand on my shoulder and throw my scruffy self out on my ear, but I've always felt comfortable in the Europa. And when I walked past it at the weekend, there were fools abseiling down it, which is admirable in its foolhardiness and made for a nice scene as gasping tourists took photos.

Clare S.

Yelp
I was recently in Belfast for a work trip, and as always left the travel booking to a colleague. So when I arrived and saw the Europa hotel, I was actually a bit gobsmacked...it's pretty swanky in here. The Europa is all shiny and marble, with a restaurant, a more casual bar and then a piano lounge. I was lucky enough to be here for 4 days, but as it was a pretty busy week I didn't stray too far away from the hotel any evening. The service all week was always really attentive, and I'll definitely go back some time as I never got the chance to eat in the restaurant which looked lovely.

Heather S.

Yelp
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and centrally located in Belfast. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because there was no A/C so we had to sleep with the window open and there were too many street noises to get a good night's sleep. We had buffet breakfast each morning in the restaurant and it was alright. Again, staff was amazing and friendly. There is some great history in this hotel and the first 2 floors are gorgeous!

Andrew K.

Yelp
Helpful staff, great room (exhibition centre) and really nice food. The salmon was great and the sauce was tasty. Would recommend for any Christmas party!

Ciara S.

Yelp
The Europa has a Lobby Bar, an upstairs Piano Bar and a Causerie Restaurant. I've never stayed overnight in the Europa but have been in the Lobby Bar numerous times over the years and it's a pleasant enough bar - if a little lacking in atmosphere. Was in the Piano Bar once a few months ago for a nice bottle of wine and a cheeseboard - tasty! Today I visited the Causerie restaurant for the first time and indulged in the vegetarian Superfood salad which was delicious. It was good but a little pricey. I would return to eat in the Europa but do think they need to offer bigger food portions or else lower their prices a little. Lovely spot all the same. I will return.

Joshua R.

Yelp
I gotta say, I'm less than impressed. In fact, seriously underwhelmed might be a better statement. It's a lovely hotel, visually, and the interior hallways and fittings are warm and inviting, which is about all I can give it stars for. The bed was very nice; and the shower, with its plate-sized shower head and awesome pressure/heat was brilliant. Service was lackluster, in that "You're not important enough for me to really bother about...but you might be somebody's relative so I'll give you the minimum" way. We called the desk with a problem with our TV and nobody ever came to fix it. Food was OMG boring and insipid, if nicely presented. Coffee at breakfast was horrid. The room was tiny, but navigable, but the bathroom was just too cramped.. There was barely enough room to put Herself's makeup bag and my shaving kit on the counter area, and no place to put fresh clothes/jammies out except on the toilet seat. No hooks, shelves, bars or other. AND...speaking of toilets...I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to 1)have translucent bathroom door that 2) doesn't close which 3) meant that all toilet activities were both clearly audible and somewhat visible to anybody in the bed area of the small room. One of the secrets of a happy marriage is keeping SOME stuff to yourself...very difficult to do in that environment... Lastly, the main doors to the rooms weigh about 100lbs each and have no hydraulic closure, so all night long our room literally echoed with the enormous bangs of doors that were left to close on their own. It was so bad that I nearly jumped out of my skin when I forgot and let my own door slam behind me, it was that loud. Bottom line: I don't care who stayed there, or why it was cool back in the day...I care about substance over style...

Lynda M.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, great location next to Opera house and Bus station. The rooms are small but very well appointed. The bed was THE most comfy hotel bed I have ever slept on, the pillow top was a nice touch. Staff was gracious, (although the front desk attendant insisted on a print out of my email booking confirmation, even though I had the confirmation number. He said he could not honor my reservation without it. Hello I am traveling I do not have access to a printer! Luckily the concierge has net access and let me print a copy) and the huge can style shower head kicked ass. There were also no car bombs during our stay, so that was a plus.

Charlotte S.

Yelp
Just arrived this afternoon. Excited to be in Belfast and feeling so welcomed by all we meet especially Alle at the Europa Hotel - kind, knowledgeable and generous with good suggestions. We loved the restaurant he recommended for dinner, Stix and Stones and the Crown Bar is amazing. Ask for a printed sheet about the history if you like that sort of thing. The Europa bar on the 1st floor has a great view and is spacious and lovely.

Mike M.

Yelp
Stayed here two nights. Arriving early, I expected to check luggage but was graciously accommodated with an early checkin. The room, which was an executive double, was nicely appointed and well done. The lobby bar was nice, though crowded. The Piano Bar was terrific, both drinks and view. We dined at the Causerie twice, which was nice but at a slight premium. Overall this is a terrific hotel. It's location can't be beat. It has fascinating history and a ton of features that I really enjoyed. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Andrew B.

Yelp
I haven't been to the Europa hotel that much, definitely less times than it has been bombed!!! However I have eaten here a few times and been to a couple of formals. It seems to be a very large grand and luxurious hotel at the heart of Belfast and is an ambassador of the city. Its sign can be seen from miles away and is a landmark for most. I had a friend who used to play at the piano bar upstairs, it was always a great time to go and listen. I remember seeing on bbc1 a local show that profiled this hotel, its funny that they were able to make a tv show out of it but there was a segment in the show that focused on teenage girls stalking celebrities that came to stay. I now feel like a bit of a saddo to have watched such drivel..but it was interesting enough.

Chris R.

Yelp
When I go on a relaxing holiday, I always like to research the best places or areas of town to stay in. Somewhere close to the hustle and bustle, easy access to places to go out in and see the sights. When making my decision on Belfast, there were several good options. That was until I found out about the Europa Hotel. Not only is this hotel very nice inside, the rooms are good size, very comfortable beds, nice flat screen TV's, good sized showers, competent and friendly staff, they also have a great piano bar that stays open till well after most pubs in the area close. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that this is the most bombed hotel IN THE WORLD?!!! Some may say, no thank you. I say, bring it on biatches. Granted those days are long gone, but it definitely adds to the allure of this hotel. Definitely one of the nicer ones in the area. It is in great proximity to the City Centre and there are several great pubs across the street (Robinson's Bars and the Crown Bar Liquor Saloon).

Ben M.

Yelp
I've been to the Europa hotel many times, but there was one occasion that I will remember for the rest of my days. Well, certainly the parts before my wheels fell off and I lost a couple of hours of my life. It was a Belfast business awards dinner, and the people I work for invited me and a few others to attend. We hadn't won anything in ages, and were just there to enjoy ourselves when Lo! and behold, we won a prestigious award, and found ourselves throwing back vast quantities of champagne and feeling very pleased with ourselves. I should state at this point that everything was run very smoothly by the Europa - excellent food, entertainment, service and drinks. Anyway. There was a post-dinner party laid on for us, which was great craic. My colleagues and I shambled out into the Belfast night at about 4am in search of a taxi. I can't remember dropping (and smashing) our award on the pavement, so there's a possibility it could have been someone else. Nobody owned up though. As I say, I've been to the Europa quite a few times and enjoy sitting in the bar upstairs after dinner, watching the world go by. Any bad experiences I've had here were entirely my own fault for drinking an absolutely staggering amount of complimentary champagne.

Yelp
On our most recent trip to Ireland we stayed in Belfast and WOW what a wonderful location/hotel. Upon our arrival into the busy city we had no idea where to park. I ran inside to ask the staff. The front desk associates were soo kind. The bellman John Walker went over and beyond! My husband had parked on the side of the street and waited for me to return with the location of parking. The Bellman John followed me to my husband on the street and guided him where to park. He even offered to grab our luggage from the car so we wouldn't have to drag it from the lot. HE was soo kind, helpful and did all with a smile! We both work as managers in the hotel industry and this is top notch service. As our first trip to the city he told us all the great spots. Across the street was the Crown Bar very popular and an icon in the city. When we arrived in our room we noticed it was very warm. I asked about air conditioning and we were able to move to another room with air due to Johns quick help. The bed was comfortable and very very nice! We found a wonderful little ducky on the tub. He is now our travel buddy. We took him everywhere on our last week of our vacation through Scotland/Ireland. Mr. McFinnegan is a new friend of ours now in SD. :) Cant wait to take him on our next vacation somewhere fun. Thanks Europa! Wonderful Experience! Great team.

Yelp
Recently made a quick decision to spend a few days in Belfast and stayed just one night at the Europa - better know as 'Europe's most bombed Hotel'! From the minute we entered the reception area we were greeted by extremely friendly and chatty staff who were all delighted to see 'southerns' visiting their fair city! Our car was valet parked, although it did cost around €20 for 24 hours which was acceptable. As we were checking in, we were asked if we'd like a complimentary upgrade, which of course we accepted and to our delight were guided to a luxuriously fantastic suite with a very good view over the city. We had a massive and unbelievably comfy bed with a huge bathroom suite and in fact we were just across the corridor from the 'Bill Clinton' suite - so that was a nice surprise. As you walk up the windy staircase from the opulent and modern reception area to the upstairs piano bar and cafe, the walls are covered all the way up with framed pictures of the many celebrities and famous people who stayed at the hotel since it first opened - in fact you need to give yourself some time to stroll upstairs slowly and absorb the historical picture/photo guide. Downside, drinks at the bar were definitely over-priced, but the breakfast made up for that the next morning - great choice and excellent quality with freshly made pots of tea/coffee seved to each table and ample supply of newspapers available. We were also able to leave our car for pickup later in the afternoon at no extra cost as we took a tour of the city. Highly recommend this wonderful and conveniently located city centre hotel but do check out various websites before booking as there are great bargains to be had, particularly if you go midweek.

Yelp
The most bombed hotel in Europe! lol It's a bit over-rated. Rooms are nice, but i've seen better. The restaurant is over-priced, although the service is good. I think the whole experience is over-priced. Reception staff are very friendly and really know the local area and the bar staff are good craic.

Yelp
Very nice hotel. If you get the king-size bed room, you'll be pretty happy. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice accommodations. being right across the street from the Crown Bar, and two other Pubs is very nice if you going for a good time. It's also in walking distance from a fun night Club, I think was called Vaudeville. As a bonus, the bar stays open for guests past normal closing time... waaaay past closing time :-)

Yelp
My TripAdvisor Review: I have been putting off this review long enough. I have been waiting for when I have enough time to really put some effort into this review, because this has been the most amazing hotel, I have ever stayed at. And I used to work at a high end hotel too. I walked in to this hotel, and immediately was impressed. First, they still had they're holiday decorations up (I arrived Jan. 3rd) and was so impressed, this had to be one of the most fanciest places I have stayed at. I walked up to the front desk and was greeted by both Rachel and Daria with smiles on their faces. I was informed that my reservation had been cancelled, but before I could have heart palpitations, I was told that, no worries let's rebook and also got myself an upgrade for the trouble. Totally worth it. The room, was SO beautiful! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was so amazing. The bathtub also had a rainfall shower. I actually took pictures of the bathroom to send to my friends and make them jealous. I felt like i was at a spa. The location of this hotel is pretty good, well for the pubs at least. I was able to walk safely to the pubs and more importantly, walk safely back to my hotel from the pubs after drinking. The restaurant they have in the hotel, has really good food and amazing service. The blueberry Cosmo was to die for. Let's talk about the staff. Both Rachel and Daria were amazing at the front desk. They remembered my name for all 5 days that I was staying at the hotel. They struck up conversations with me, helped me with directions and also helped me to plan some sightseeing. They were extremely genuine and amazing at what they do. I used to work at a high end hotel, so these things are important to me. Then there was Marty. Marty was the true epitome of a Northern Irish man. He was extremely hospitable, and funny. He was the jokester of the hotel, and always put a smile on my face. Now for my 2 favorite people, who made my whole experience in Ireland so memorable. More memorable than London, Amsterdam, or Dublin. I truly feel that I want to come back to Belfast JUST to stay at this hotel again. That is how amazing these people are. Philip Murphy and Emma. So on my first night in Belfast, I had trouble sleeping and went downstairs and met Philip. He was so hospitable and so charming. He let me hangout with him and pick his brain on everything that is Ireland. Especially Northern Ireland, where he was born and raised. I learned so much history from him, as well as the cool places to visit and things to do from him. He was supreme. Mary, is also just as amazing. There is nothing but amazing things that I can say about Mary. She was extremely professional but also polite. She also helped me out by hanging out with me, while another guest at the hotel was trying to get my attention in the not most flattering way. She did this in SUCH a professional way, that the other guest did not even realize when he was being dismissed. I cannot say enough about this hotel, the location, the amenities, the staff. This is truly a remarkable place that I either recommend staying at, or visiting and trying out their Blueberry Cosmo. I can't wait to come back and stay here. Yelp
Never stayed as a guest in the hotel but have had lunch and drinks in the bar/restaurant. Bar staff is helpful as well as the service being quick. Food is good pub type grub.

Yelp
A landmark hotel. The food and restaurants are nothing better than average. But the atmosphere in the bar makes you feel like you are at the bar makes you feel like you are at the centre of things. Staff are very good and helpful in every respect. Needs a really good restaurant.

Yelp
Thank you for overbooking on my dream weekend vacation. 48 hours notice that you "cannot accommodate our reservation" is an abysmal excuse for service. This trip was supposed to celebrate my recovery from cancer. I was so excited to see the city and sights and your callous disregard for the actual human beings that you overbooked has truly ruined my trip to Ireland. My spirits are very down because of this experience and what was magical trip is now a stressful nightmare. I am sincerely disappointed and don't care if you do your best to minimize these situations. This is one. I'm in it. And you have done nothing to truly ameliorate an unfortunate "situation" that you are the cause of.

Yelp
The staff are delightful, the beds are incredibly comfortable, it's quiet, the facilities are top class. Room service could be a bit better - last time i ordered, food was 1 hour late and quite cold but they gave it to me for free so, can't complain that much!

Yelp
Called into the Europa for a few drinks with an old friend - it was actually my first time ever being in the place. Impressions were that it feels a wee bit dated with some very strange design decisions. Settled in the upstairs piano bar which was reasonably busy - ordered the first round and had a long long wait before the drinks arrived, literally 15 mins. Subsequent rounds were much more prompt after mentioning it to the waiter. Overall not sure I'd rush back!
