Let’s start with the good- the hotel has a classical Mexican Hasienda vibe and delivered very well, the deco is well matched to the theme of the hotel. Its location is excellent and the staff were lovely, cheerful and welcoming.|However, this is meant to be a 5* hotel, I have stayed in many 5* hotels and this one is sadly scraping in at a 4*. It offers great amenities, Beach Club- noisy and expensive, Spa, pools comfortable sun-beds, but it is a tired old lady. It needs an injection of life. |When arriving at a 5* , I, at least, expect a glass of something. Most give you a glass of Cava but we had to search out a glass of water at the side ourselves, not offered or served, not a good impression. Overall the food and drinks were acceptable for a hotel. |The WIFI is a huge issue. We live in the 21st Century. I find it hard to believe that at €250 a night, that decent WiFi cannot be provided. It drops out constantly, while some people are happy to leave technology behind, others need a good WiFi connection. It’s not an Island problem, I’ve stayed at four, 5* on the island without any issue. |There is the usual problem of reserving sun-beds hours before they turn up or don’t turn up at all!!!! At other hotels, I’ve been escorted to the beds and the room number taken to ensure fair distribution. There is no drinks service at the pool, only self collection from the bar, unlike I’ve experienced at all other 5*. |I had been so looking forward to staying here, I watched it be built and have always wanted to stay here, but alas, I truly sad to say, really disappointed.
