Eurostars Matera La Suite

A beautiful 5 star hotel in a fantastic location on the edge of the Matera Sassi (caves) area and next to buzz of the Passieggata every evening on the Via Ridola and Via Corso. Our suite was exceptional with a terrace looking towards the city, a very comfortable extra large bed, a separate seating dining area, modern bathroom with loads of wardrobe storage in the entrance hall. We made use of the private spa which you book for 2 of you for an hour and it was lovely. The breakfast had a lovely choice of fresh fruit, lovely pastries, continental cheese and meats, bread and hot food. The staff were attentive and served tea or coffee if your choice at the table. When we come back to this magical place we will stay here again.

Hotel to avoid, despite its convenient location near the city center. The atmosphere was so cold we almost caught a chill, and the welcome was far from friendly, we felt like we were disturbing. Breakfast was a complete disappointment: everything industrial, tasteless fruit, and Nespresso coffee… quite embarrassing for a hotel in Italy. Even worse, just a few hours later we all had stomach issues. Definitely not worth the price.

beautiful modern hotel next to the old town Matera. quiet, comfortable, big rooms. walking distance to the ruins, castle, dozens of restaurants. great breakfast. 40 min from Bari Airport. Espresso machines in the room, but make sure to ask for milk at the front desk if you want cappuchinos, since they do not offer creamers

The room was huge, modern and clean it felt luxury. we loved using the spa to ourselves, it was better than most hotel spas that are shared. it was a short walk into the town but isn’t in the city centre itself.

The deluxe suite with balcony was huge, with a lovely view of the castle, two comfy chairs, lots of counter space in the bathroom and a great hair dryer. Parking in the adjacent garage was convenient and it was great to forget about the car for a couple of days and simply explore on foot. The breakfast buffet was complete, and the service was excellent throughout the hotel. My only complaint was the Nespresso coffee at breakfast. I love it at home and in the hotel room but expect a “real” Italian cappuccino in the morning! Some inexpensive patio furniture on the balcony would be a nice touch, too.

We had such a piecefull and great time in Matera. Staying at this hotel was a very good choice and highly recommendable. The Room was quiet, specious and modern with good quality standards. Tasteful interior decorating, friendly staffing, parking garage, good breakfast. The village is within walking distance.
