Were fortunate the staff had sent some very helpful instructions to reach the hotel as a number of the incredibly narrow one way streets were blocked off for a recent festival held on the Plaza Mayor. Check in was friendly, fast and helpful (Alba). Would be even better if they had valet parking and porters. Parking was a challenge as you had to navigate very narrow, twisting, cobblestone streets to a lot above the hotel and very near the castle. A hike back down stairs and traversing the maze of hotel hallways got me back to the lobby to retrieve our bags. That said, the room assigned was quite spacious, comfortably furnished but dated, and had great views of the old town and the Plaza Mayor from the balcony. Had trouble with the A/C as it didn't seem to cool the room so we opened the windows and thankfully the outside air was quite chilly.|Breakfast was good with cereals, fresh breads and pastries, limited fresh fruit (mostly peel your own), juices, meats and cheeses, and scrambled eggs. The dining room was attractive with arched walls and stone flooring. Service was a bit impersonal as both personnel spoke limited English. Upon check out, one staff member (Juan) was extremely helpful as he came with me to retrieve the car and provide guidance back to the front entrance and the assisted with the luggage. Prices were extremely reasonable.

The hotel is situated exactly where you need to be to see the main sights of Trujillo. The hotel was a palace built in the XVI century and parts of the hotel has conserved the structure. Spectacular hotel. Very comfortable with large rooms. The staff must be commended. They were so dedicated at their job, ensuring that all was correct and comfortable for us. They upgraded our room upon arrival and wow it was a superior huge suite. This hotel is highly recommended.

The most impressive part is the location, it is at the city center and very close to the beautiful city square. The room design has everything that the 4 Star hotel should have. The hotel has equipped with a safe box and refrigerator but there is no coffee and tea preparation set. However you can ask for a hot water. The route to the hotel is quite narrow, need a good driving skill. Small car is a better option. The staffs are friendly and helpful.

My experience at this Eurostars fell short of expectations for a hotel with its star rating. While the location is pleasant, it may not be ideal for those traveling with a car due to limited parking options. Unfortunately, the room, bed, and furniture quality did not align with the hotel's star rating, which was disappointing. Additionally, the loud air conditioning disrupted my stay and had to be turned off.

Location is nice, but the rooms are run down. Bad parking. Furniture very worn out, tiling in bath room cracked. Very shaby.

I'd had a long day of driving, and when I finally arrived on Calle Ballesteros in Trujillol, some of the drop off parking was blocked off, and another guest was arriving at the same time, which caused quite a little traffic jam. I quickly brought my suitcases into the lobby before rushing back to the car to move it to the hotel's parking lot, high on the hill overlooking the town. These were the most narrow streets I had driven on to date, with building walls and arches just inches from my mirrors. Medieval towns definitely weren't designed with cars in mind, but it was a fun moment, navigating the twists and turns.||Once the car was parked, an employee of the hotel, who had ridden with the guests that had arrived just before I did, led us down the stairs, into the back door, and down two separate elevators to the lobby to check in. I did the paperwork, then went back the way I came, past the door we had just entered, then to the end of the hall to my room. Here, at Eurostars Palacio Santa Marta, I had exchanged some comfort for the view. The room was small, but still big enough for me and my things, without feeling cramped. Although the room was small, the bathroom still featured a full size tub. Out my window though, was the real treat. The bell tower of Iglesia San Martín, one of the focal points of Trujillo's magnificent Plaza Mayor loomed large through the glass.. The tower was also home to a number of storks, so I took some time to photograph them after opening the window.|The bed, a single, was comfortable enough for me to sleep through the night for the two that I was here. When I first arrived, there were a number of flies in the room, and I brought this to the attention of the man at the front desk, who immediately sent someone to take care of it. Throughout my stay the staff here were friendly, and willing to help in any way they could.|The only (very minor) complaint was that this room did not have a safe; but the hotel felt very secure, so it wasn't a big deal.|This is an excellent location from which to explore all that Trujillo has to offer.

One of the best places we have ever stayed. If you're in Trujillo and you can stay here, don't over think it, just book it. You will not be disappointed. Walking distance to the plaza. Parking is available in a private parking area. Lots of picturesque places to walk to and enjoy. I hope their standards are the same for all their hotels. If so, then totally worth it. Breakfast staff that morning were fantastic and the service throughout was exceptional. Our room was incredible

The hotel was lovely. The plaza with the grand homes of the conquistadors unfortunately was blocked from view as there had been a cheese fair and a lot of cleanup needed to be done. Our major problem was parking as the hotel lot is up the hill next to the castle and it was difficult for us to navigate. Our suggestion - valet parking!
