Sure, they claim to be a five star hotel, but after four nights here we would like to say that the hotel rather lives up to a three-star hotel. This is mainly due to its rather inadequate service despite its great location and large, spacious rooms.||At first glance, you are greeted by a large and rather impressive complex that is located in a beautiful location on a hill above the city. We already knew that the hotel was a bit far from the city and the beach, which did not bother us.||We had a positive feeling upon our arrival, but unfortunately it was already shattered at check-in when we were met by staff whose welcome and information was lacking, or more accurately, it was completely missing. We had to ask for information about breakfast times, times for the shuttle-car down to Sitges (it runs every hour 11-18), how to book the Spa (it costs extra), and dinner times for us with half board. Apparently dinner time needed to be booked, which we would have missed on the first evening if we had not asked about it. Very strange that we were not offered all this info when we checked in and had to ask for all the information. So be prepared for that!||The hotel rooms were large, with a large comfortable bed and a spacious balcony with sliding doors. We paid extra for a sea view, which is recommended. The room had cute decor with a lot of modern elements mixed with older ones. However, you could see some worn out parts and spots of rust or moisture. Which you might think you should not have to experience in a five-star hotel. One day our electricity went out when we were both charging our phones and had the TV on at the same time so we had to call the caretaker. Also, our air conditioner was struggling to work one night, annoying things but things you can live with - but again, not particularly five-star standard.||Our first two evenings we booked dinner through the reception and were placed in their nice al’a carte restaurant “La Punta”. We were very happy with the food there and received very nice service where you could sit in peace and quiet and watch the sunset between the hills. This is where our hopes began to be fulfilled about the stay. But unfortunately, this hope and happiness was already taken away from us on day three, when we were stopped at the door of the Al’a Carte restaurant and told that “on Friday and Saturday only the buffet is included for us with Half Board”. This buffet was served in the other restaurant (the same restaurant as the breakfast buffet, one floor below the lobby) There we were offered a typical all-inclusive family buffet with everything from sushi, grilled meat, burgers and fries. Not what we had expected and again a big miss in information for us as guests as we thought we where having A'la carte once again.||To add to this was that we had to ask to order drinks four times before we got any drinks for the buffet.||On our last day we then went to the information in the morning and kindly asked if we could book ourselves at the A’la Carte restaurant instead of the buffet, and possibly pay the difference if it would cost extra. We were told that they would look into it and they would get back to us during the day by phone. Unfortunately, they never called us. And when we went back from Sitges to the hotel in the afternoon, they said at the reception that unfortunately the Al’a carte was now fully booked (?) So it had to be a day with buffet for us once again, on our last evening. However, better food was served that day and there was some nice live music. But by this point we had already given up on the hotel and its service and we just wanted to enjoy our last evening.||Finally, when we checked out, the staff first managed to claim that we would have to pay the entire stay again (we paid everything on arrival) then after that we were presented with a paper/receipt where it said that we had stayed at the hotel on completely different days than we had stayed on. The staff finally apologized and referred to a “system error”, but the whole thing was extremely strange. Eventually it was resolved and we got two free drink tickets as an apology.||I have tried to write this review with a fairly positive tone, as the hotel has nice qualities such as a nice sunny location, close to nature and the city, large pool area and large lovely rooms, but unfortunately our stay did not live up to the expectations of what a five-star hotel should be and offer. We often felt quite stressed about the lack of information and at the same time it was as if the staff did not really know what they were doing.||We are happy with our stay in Sitges overall and think it was a bit funny with this whole strange experience at the hotel. It was lucky that you could "escape" up to your nice room or down to Sitges and the beach to get a break from the confusing atmosphere and lacking service.||We would not recommend the hotel if you are looking for a five-star and relaxed holiday experience.
