The hotel location is 1000/10, two minutes walk from the beach Depending on your stay at the hotel, you can get a free chair on the beach, and if you want an umbrella, it will cost you $20. The service is excellent. The cleanliness is very good, but in my opinion, they should pay more attention to the cleanliness of the carpets in the rooms. The prices are also good for Miami. The restaurant attached to the hotel is also excellent for me. I recommend it.

The staff is lovely, friendly and helpful! The beach across the road is stunning. The room we stayed in was comfortable and beautifully designed. :) Unfortunately the windows were so dirty that we couldn’t really look outside and also you can’t open them for any fresh air. But overall we had a great stay and the staff was very helpful and quick each time we had a question or needed something.

Hotel Eurostars Winter Haven offers an exceptional experience with its prime location and excellent amenities, making it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Miami. The location of this hotel is unbeatable. Situated on Ocean Drive, it is within walking distance of Lincoln Road, known for its incredible shopping and dining options. The nearby beaches are stunning, and the hotel is also close to excellent cycling paths, providing plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. The room, while on the smaller side, was cozy and well-maintained. However, the inability to open the window was a drawback, especially as the exterior of the window was quite dirty, affecting the view. Despite this, the overall ambiance of the room was pleasant and comfortable. One of the standout features of this hotel is its beautiful terrace, which is as amazing as it looks in the photos. The terrace provides a great space to relax and soak in the Miami vibe. The reception service was flawless, with friendly and helpful staff who even offer complimentary bicycles for guests, adding to the charm of the stay. An added perk is the inclusion of a beach chair with your room reservation. Simply provide your room number to the attendants at the beach to claim your spot. However, note that umbrellas come at an additional charge of $20 per day. The room service was impeccable, with staff ensuring the room was kept clean and well-stocked throughout the stay. The overall service at the hotel was professional and accommodating, enhancing the guest experience. Hotel Eurostars Winter Haven combines a fantastic location, great amenities, and excellent service to deliver a memorable stay. While the inability to open the window was a minor inconvenience, the cozy room, amazing terrace, and thoughtful extras like complimentary bicycles and beach chairs more than made up for it. This hotel is a fantastic choice for enjoying the best of Miami.

Worst experience I ever had with Eurostars hotels. 1. Reception slow as hell and uninterested in the guests. Both check-in and check-out took ages. 2. Reception area looks decent but the elevator is really dirty. And nobody ever cleans it. 3. Rooms have filthy really old and worn out carpets 4. There was a cockroach in the bathroom 5. Phone in the room did not work when I wanted to call the reception to ask for slippers, shower caps and toothbrushes as none of these items were provided. I had to go down to get all that. And they of course said it was an accident that the phone was out of order but we had two rooms and the situation was exactly the same in both of them. 6. Breakfast included in the price is called continental but literally only contains pastries and a small bowl of fruits - no ham, egg or anything 7. There is a public parking in the next street so don't use their valet as it is twice as expensive

We had a wonderful stay at Winter Haven. We visited in late November 2024. The front staff were very friendly and helpful. Cristina in particular went above and beyond. The room was immaculate. The location is amazing and the hotel's restaurant with patio seating for people watching is terrific. It's right next door to Havana 1957 restaurant, which has great food and live Cuban music at dinnertime on weekends. Winter Haven is highly recommended for South Beach visits when you want to be right in the heart of the action.

Google
This is no longer a Marriott FYI but the rooms haven’t changed— very nice! Great location on the beach, with rooms that are comfortable and clean. We love to see a ceiling fan in hotel rooms, and the AC also worked really well. There was NO sign or smell of mildew, which can be common in places in Miami. The bathrooms are very small and you can’t have the shower door open or it hits the bathroom door. There’s a mini fridge and also lavazza coffee maker in the room. Would definitely stay here again and the resort fee was only $25 or so.

Google
Simply a bad place. The rooms are tiny and absolutely filthy. The decor is out of the 1960s. The lobby is dirty as can be and the included breakfast is poor - stale pastry, old fruit and toast. I would not recommend visiting. Go some place else

Google
Lovely boutique hotel right opposite South Beach. Staff were very attentive and helpful. We had an issue with our booking through the travel agent which they helped to resolve. The hotel had a great vibe, very art deco. The hotel offers beach towels and sunbeds on the beach but you have to hire a parasol if you need one. I believe they also offer free hire of bikes which is a nice touch. |Breakfast was lovely in the hotel, I would highly recommend it.

Chris P.

Yelp
This hotel is as iconic South Beach as you can get! The lobby smells good, great friendly staff and a quaint lobby area! Late check out available upon request! Lobby bar and restaurant on-site! This hotel is in the heart of south beach and is in the center of it all! No pool but beach access right across the street!

Joe M.

Yelp
Good place, needs some updates. Too bad this will no longer be in the Marriott family. Sounds like they have decided to go in a different direction.

Otty B.

Yelp
Small, unique and great boutique hotel. Perfect location if you would like to be in the historic and famous Ocean Drive street. Cristina (front desk ) was so attentive, welcome, amazing customer service and she make sure that you have an amazing stay. The rooms are small, and clean and the bathroom amenities are amazing. The bellman and housekeepers are attentive and attentive to detail. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Liza G.

Yelp
Beautifully renovated historic hotel right on Ocean Drive. Outstanding job of retaining the historic art deco charm and details while updating the bedding and modern conveniences. Lovely airy room with high cielings and super quiet considering the location. Yes the bathroom isvery small but the shower is hot with great water pressure so the location and room more than make up for the tiny bathroom. Stunning ocean view and the service was top notch (Cristina at the front desk was fantastic!)

Chris S.

Yelp
This was disgusting. I probably would never have known if I didn't have to make my own bed because they still are not providing housekeeping during a stay. But, I discovered the comforter on my bed had a hole the size of a quarter surrounded by what looked like flecks of blood (see photos). Ick! I talked to the front desk manager and he quickly had it replaced. But, it should never have been a problem in the first place. How could housekeeping put that comforter on a guest bed?

Tina G.

Yelp
Very pleasant stay at the Winter Haven hotel. The staff have been wonderful, especially Alfredo who welcomed us each time we crossed paths. Everyone else was pleasant and professional, I just didn't get their names. The location cannot be beat, right on Ocean Drive, steps from the beach where 2 complimentary chairs await. Umbrellas can be rented for an additional fee, well worth the price for this pale New England skin. It is an older hotel, not as updated as some properties but we're not here to stay in our room. There is also a rooftop terrace to soak up the sun or watch the stars. My husband was in Miami for a conference so I tagged along for the sunshine. Not sure it would be a great place for kids but I suppose that depends on your kids. I do recommend the hotel.

Yelp
This hotel should not be allowed to operate under the Marriott flag. Below is a summary of my family's experiences here. Below is a copy of the complaint I've filed with the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation and division of Florida Health. Below is a summary of my family's experience with the Winter Haven hotel. I believe if the hotel were inspected you'd find multiple health threats highest of which is dirty air filters / single unit HVACS that need their coils also cleaned that are so dirty they are blowing mold spores over you while you sleep. The fact that there is year's worth of dust, dirt, and grime under and behind the beds tells the rest of the story which is that the facility smells bad because it's simply not being cleaned. We booked the hotel through a third-party app that does not offer a refund but we have walked about from $2,000 spent on this hotel because of serious health concerns. I'm allergic to mold and my youngest daughter of three is also. Please inspect this hotel and then sanitize it for the protection of the public. Thank you in advance and feel free to contact me with any questions. 216 room for my children sheets were dirty on the bed closest to the door Smell of mildew dirty behind the beds air filter in the AC has not been cleaned Original room 219 Smell of mildew dirty behind the beds air filter in the AC has not been cleaned relocation room 306 Smell of mildew dirty behind the beds air filter in the AC has not been cleaned stains in the bathroom near the toilet

Yelp
What a gem. This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of South Beach on Ocean Drive across from Lummus Park Beach. The rooms were clean and the staff/service was amazing (complimentary champagne upon arrival, a great restaurant with outdoor seating, and a professional staff) - many thanks to Pablo, Harsha, and Ricoh for making our stay wonderful. We will be back.

Yelp
Winter Haven, Autograph Collection on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach is a cool place to stay at the beach. I really like the location and atmosphere that they have created here. I have been impressed with the level of customer service and everything that they provide here. Good overall experience every time.

Yelp
Seven years later we returned to the Winter Haven as our first stop on our way to the Keys. We arrived around 9:00 PM on a Tuesday night and the valet was immediately there to take our car. I don't recommend having a car for South Beach, but in our case we needed one as we were continuing on the next day. It cost $35.00 for the valet parking and for the convenience of being late and for one night, it was worth it. The hotel is still very charming. They now have an Italian restaurant in lobby and the front porch. The rooms were fine for us. Yes the bathroom is a little tight, but the shower is vey spacious enough and nice. The staff was outstanding. The location is great, on the quiet side of Ocean Ave but still close enough to everything. We tried to use the beach before we headed out on Wednesday but it was just too windy. There is a resort fee that includes beach towels and beach chairs. I would still recommend this hotel after seven years! Solid 4 stars.

Christina G.

Yelp
Perfect location for everything South Beach. We were here for the South Beach Food and Wine Festival and this was a stellar hotel based on location. We were never more than .5 miles from any of the parties we were attending. I basically never had to get my car from the valet (though know that it costs $35 no matter how many times you get your car). You do need to give the valet a 20-30 minutes heads up when you need your car. Even though many people say the rooms are tiny, I didn't think they were that bad. Yes, you are paying a premium for being literally across from the beach! We were three to a room that had two double beds and I didn't feel cramped. You come to South Beach to go places, not to hang out in your room! When we first got there our outlet in the bathroom wasn't working. It just took one call and they sent maintenance to fix it. We didn't have any other issues. I love that they supply water bottles and beach towels. I drank quite a few of their water bottles during my stay. The AC can be loud. I wear ear plugs when I sleep so it didn't bother me, but I could tell it was quite noisy. I definitely enjoyed staying at this hotel. I think you just need to assume that if you're on South Beach you aren't going to be spending a lot of time in your room. This is as good a spot as any to sleep.

Andi P.

Yelp
4 Stars for a cute little spot facing South Beach with teeny rooms that are perfectly pretty for the location. Seriously, I loved the room decor! They made great use of a small space to fit two full beds (maybe queens?), a desk, a TV, etc. I do wish that they, as well as many other hotels, would use an actual duvet cover rather than sandwiching two sheets around a comforter. Just a tiny gripe, but it seems to be an unfortunate trend... Otherwise, I appreciated the large floor to ceiling mirror that allowed one of us to dry our hair and apply makeup while the other was using the bathroom. Again- clutch for a small space! We took advantage of the valet (with its associates $35 fee), and every time we called ahead, the car was downstairs waiting for us by the time we got there. In addition, when we realized the outlet in the bathroom wasn't working and called the lobby, they sent someone over who came by and worked his magic to fix it. Overall, great service in the lobby and by the folks at valet, a small but suitable room, and a truly unbeatable location!

Yelp
I've contemplated several times about writing this review...so here it is. Imagine being extremely excited to stay here...on south beach, and then walking into your room with make up on the sheets, cabinet doors to the fridge hanging off, no fitted sheets on the bed (just a mattress cover) ....,the worst part was the mildew oder in the room, I couldn't breath. We called front desk immediately, the manager came to the room and he instantly agreed that the room was in bad shape. He moved us to another room, we still weren't pleased with the conditions of the room, dead bugs the bathroom...and when we were leaving we seen lip stick on the other side of the pillow (I should've checked before...I just didn't think I had to considering they just moved our room, you'd think they'd make sure things were up to par). I understand that the hotel rooms are being revamped, but at least make better accommodations to your guest. I wasn't satisfied with my stay here at ALL...a real disgrace to Marriott!

Sara H.

Yelp
5/4 star reviews are LYING Any review rating above 1 star is a joke. This is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at if you even want to call it a hotel. It looks like a front for drugs or money laundering because of how poor the quality is. Windows don't lock, AC smells, we found pubic hair in the bed, thin walls, small rooms, moldy carpet, and the worst front desk service you will ever experience. Save yourself and your money, and don't book this sad excuse for a hotel.

Janelle M.

Yelp
Staff is friendly and accommodating. Right across from the beach! Beach chairs, towels and bike rental are included in your stay!

Bella K.

Yelp
We checked in entering the room I felt I was in the 70s completely disgusting old filthy dirty I would never ever recommend this hotel to my worst enemy it's not a Marriott it's not an autograph this is below 1% terrible terrible hotel yes the location is great but I would never in 1 million years stay in this hotel ever again thank God we checked in and checked right out they charged for half a day for nothing for us just checking in would never ever recommend it beware

Leah C.

Yelp
Well, we were supposed to go to another restaurant but our uber couldn't get to the place bec 14th street was close and it was raining so hard that we were soaked. We had no choice but to go here however, i dont regret that because it was the best place to eat at if you want a cozy place and food is good. Very relaxing bit the best part? The people are very nice. From the time we ran soaked in water, to the entrance the entrance they immediately offered us a towel to dry off. And when we were seated our server was the nicest, very polite and soft spoken and he made us taste two of their wines. On the food side id recommend their paella and beef tacos. Oh and they close late so if you are having late dinner, go here

Yelp
I have stayed at Winter Haven with a friend in the past and remember liking it, so when it was time to book my solo birthday trip, I didn't even think twice before choosing this boutique Marriott property. Located right on Ocean drive, this hotel stands 6 floors tall and has only one elevator, which can be slow at times. My room was pretty tiny and the bathroom was even smaller. The shower wouldn't fully open because the sink was in the way and the toilet is weirdly placed as well. Throughout my stay, the room was clean enough, but they could have done a better job. Also the cleaning staff would start walking around and banging door at 7 am!!! Super annoying! I did like the decor with dark green accents in the room. Winter Haven offers a bar and restaurant, none of which I tried. They also has a rooftop patio where one can just lay out in the sun or relax with a book. Even though this hotel was nothing to write home about, I wouldn't hesitate staying here again next time I'm in South Beach. I absolutely love its location on Ocean Drive: far enough from all the drunks at night but within walking distance to the beach, and restaurants and clubs in the area.

Tim T.

Yelp
Stayed here for a quick weekend, room rate was rather high charged an extra 40$ for an extra person. Also the drink prices are VERY expensive for three small patron and oj cost $80 that included the gratuity even your meals have the gratuity already included at 18% what if You don't like the service your stuck with it I tried to refuse the gratuity and it's a mandatory charge according to the servers. I live in the DC area and the drink charges are much cheaper than here. There is a bottle of Patron in my room that after reading to card I could have taken that to drink for $25 and got 6 drinks out of it. This place is not of children especially if the evening the people are so rude while walking on the streets. The room is very comfortable with everything you need within a phone call away. The hotel gets the 4 star for the room comfort, cleanliness and front desk staff.

Jonathan T.

Yelp
Somewhere between three and four stars, for me. My breakdown: ***** ===Positives=== + LOCATION: A hotel right off of 14th Street and Ocean Drive? Yes, you're across the street from one of the most iconic beaches in the country. + SPG: Because SPG is better. + SERVICE: From the receptionist to the valet, the staff here work their asses off to help create a memorable experience for their guests. + COST: It's relatively affordable when compared to other stays on South Beach. Cost per night ranges from $250 up to $500. Cost varies depending on the type of room and year. + BATHROOM: Not the most spacious, but it's modern chic and clean. + DECOR: Love the wallpaper. So stylish and Miami! ===Negatives=== - BED: not the most comfortable bed. It lacked a firm mattress. Also, I didn't love the sheet and above below the mattress. Perhaps and the sheet above and below the comforter. - WORKING & FUNCTIONAL OUTLETS: Several outlets didn't work there. They def need to upgrade their wiring. Also, the panel interface, for the fan and lighting doesn't make much sense. ***** OVERALL: Although the list of positives has much more, I don't know if I would necessarily recommend a stay there. I def look at other places the next time I decide to check out Miami.

Sharon B.

Yelp
worst hotel! Noisy & dirty! Hard to believe it is a Marriott property.

Kory R.

Yelp
This hotel was in a perfect location! We had access to the beach, restaurants, clubs, etc! We took an Uber from the cruise terminal to the hotel after our cruise and we were able to check in early! The room was stylishly decorated and I loved the palm wallpaper. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was modern, chic and clean. The elevator was a bit slow but we just walked up a flight of stairs to our room. I was glad I brought ear plugs because the A/C was a little loud and you could hear when people were yelling or revving their engines outside. The staff was friendly and courteous. They even provided complimentary umbrellas for when it rained! We definitely enjoyed staying at this hotel and would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in a centrally located area!

Michelle L.

Yelp
Look this place is super convenient. Of course that's why you stay anywhere on Ocean Drive. The valet guys were nowhere to be found when we arrived, and I'll admit in advance that was a huge downfall of our stay. But most people don't have a car on south beach. Or they shouldn't because you don't need one. The lobby is super cute. And there's a restaurant and bar. We did have a quick meal there and it was fine but nothing special. Check-in was fast and friendly. They offered my husband and I glasses of bubbly. Always a tone setting kickoff. Plus the room was ready around 1:15 -- another bonus. We went up to the room. It wasn't too small by SoBe standards but if you're not aware, you'll be upset by size. The bathroom was very tight. So tight my husband dropped my mascara and the top of the facial wash behind the vanity. The big plus was the toiletries from L'Occitane. The beds were comfy ish. The wall unit A/C was cool enough but eventually made it damp in there. Also that classic musty damp Art Deco hotel scent mixed with old smell of cigarettes from who knows how long ago. Cute minibar but avoid it and go to Walgreens. It's across from the beach but we didn't have time to enjoy the resort fee-included chairs. We had to wait nearly an hour to get the car pulled around by valet when leaving. Not at all cool and took off a full star from the experience. I can't guarantee I'd return when staying on SoBe but I might...

Jen G.

Yelp
The restaurant was good, wait staff very nice and accommodating. The hotel was horrible. The rooms looked clean however my daughter found a bedbug in her bed in the middle of the night and they were unwilling to help us anyway at that time. The manager was notified and was only willing to give $20 off of the resort fees for bikes beach chairs etc. However, it was raining the entire time so we did not utilize any of those amenities. We did get a later check out in order to have time to wash all of our laundry and also an American breakfast for two. I booked through the Hopper app which is more than willing to try and help me solve the situation they would get a five star rating however the winter haven I will never step foot in again. We got very little if any sleep at all trying to locate another hotel was virtually impossible and they were not willing to give back very much for our troubles.

Audrey L.

Yelp
I cannot believe that this hotel has the positive reviews it has. On a recent visit friends and I unfortunately found ourselves in this dump. I can only base this review on a one night stay as we transferred to a different Marriott property the very next day. As our train was delayed, we did not arrive until after 8 P.M. We were check in by a clerk who seemed to consider himself a comic with an sarcastic edge. I was not amused. Once in the tiny room, apparently too small for even one chair, we went for a late dinner. Upon returning we were informed by a different front desk clerk that the elevator was out of service and would be for the rest of the night. There was no apology forthcoming from the clerk, just a roll of the eyes. A trip up four flights, just behind a couple that had to carry their bags up to their room, after checking in, had us fuming. We made the best of it and went to sleep. Deciding to deal with the issue the next day. The hotel's hallways looked like a tenement and were dark. I totally understand the historic nature of the property...but, it is not worth the price of admission. We finally had to take our displeasure to Marriot and after spending the entire morning waiting, fruitlessly, for the manager to return our call that was made at approximately 8:15 A.M. when the elevator was still not working. Ultimately, we reserved a room for the remainder of our stay at the Royal Palm...on the beach with many more amenities, plus, less pricey. Still waiting for a refund of our payment to Winterhaven. How long will that take. Will we have to call the manager, again? We will call, but will never stay or recommend this place. Enjoy the photos!

Yelp
I decided to stay here for my first visit ever to Miami Beach. It's about 25 minutes from Miami International Airport. When I pulled up, I was initially shocked to see the building. It was a classic antique-looking building that took me back in time. I was greeted by valet upon entering. At the front desk, the front desk agent welcomed me to Miami and was very personable. He also offered me champagne and water. The elevator was very tight, and no more than three people with luggage could fit inside. The hallways were probably my least favorite part of the hotel (photo attached). I was surprised when I walked into my room. Although the room was small, everything was well put together. Honestly, the room was large enough for the short duration of my trip. The only issue I had was with the shower. There is no separate flooring between the bathroom and shower space. Be very careful or you can possibly slip. One of the best things that the hotel offers is free bikes from sunrise to sunset to ride around the beach. They also offer complimentary beach chairs and beach towels for lounging on the beach (this is through Boucher Brothers). On the first floor of the hotel, there is a small restaurant that serves really good (and strong) drinks. I'd highly recommend. I did enjoy this hotel for the duration of my trip. If I decided to come back, I would possibly look into upgrading to a larger room.

Tim W.

Yelp
Great little hotel directly on Ocean Drive. Put you right in the middle of South Beach, directly across from the park and beach access. Hotel also has bike for guest use. Italian restaurant and inside small bar. Worth the stay will be back

Unc L.

Yelp
Stayed here one night and woke up with bed bug bites and bed bugs crawling all through my bed. I have huge bites on my face. They did nothing to sanitize my belongings at check out. kind of acted like it was a normal thing.

Butch H.

Yelp
From a LOYAL Marriott BonVoy Member........... So, their parking situation is completely jacked. They feel free to continue to ring up charges for cars that have not been there for days but because the valet wrote down a number on a ticket, that is the bill. I haven't had a car here in two days but I still have almost $80.00 in "parking" charges. Also be careful of the RESORT fee although there is no pool or no resort amenities, there is a rooftop patio......that's it. One elevator, super slow, can fit maybe a family of four, be prepared to wait. As a very loyal Marriott BonVoy member, this is about as bad of service as I've had in long time.

Greg O.

Yelp
This is an Historic property right on Ocean Drive centrally located in Miami Beach's Art Deco District. Given it's historic nature, the property lacks many amenities offered by more modern hotels. The hotel has a rarely used roof-top deck which is a quiet and peaceful place to relax. While oddly Italian, the restaurant and bar on the veranda offers a wide range of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner choices served up inside or out by a friendly and expert staff. A daily, mandatory resort fee is charged but that allows you to use bicycles provided by the hotel, free beach lounge chairs and towels through the beach concessions. Like many small hotels in this historic district, there is no pool. Our room was very small, tastefully appointed but clearly run-down and in need of a re-fresh. The bath had some mold issues and the A/C seemed to not be working very well. The location can't be beat and everything South Beach has to offer is easily walkable or bikeable. The front desk staff was really helpful and genuinely friendly.

Yasmin S.

Yelp
I like Winter Haven a lot. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The Ocean Drive location provides easy access to the beach, where my family planned to spend most of our time, of course. My favorite aspect of Winter Haven is the friendly and courteous staff. Someone is always there to see you out and welcome you back. Bartenders in the lobby are funny and create a very pleasant experience, no matter how brief your encounter. Second favorite aspect is the rooftop deck, small but cozy with chaise lounges, small tables and a pretty view of the ocean. As some other reviewers mentioned, noise level can be high at times but it never bothered me or hindered my ability to get a good night's sleep. I recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a pleasant South Beach getaway.

Neal D.

Yelp
From the moment I walked through the door and was given a beer by the super jovial bellman/bouncer/whoever he was, I knew the Winter Haven had vibes to match its style. All the staff were very friendly and property is one that can be appreciated for its stylistic and cultural value, but staying in an old hotel has its drawback. It's haunted. Okay, okay, I joke. The main thing that comes to mind about the stay is just how small everything was. The room, the bathroom, the elevator, the front door--they're all definitely from a different era.

Rhonda M.

Yelp
This art deco hotel was built in 1939. Loved everything about it from the gorgeous view from the rooftop to the cozy beautifully decorated room. Lobby was elegantly decorated as well. The rooftop has comfortable seating areas and a shower. Strings of lights makes beautiful setting at night. It's located directly across the street from South Beach. Just cross the street and you are in Lummus park then short walk to the beach, I would say maybe two minutes from lobby to sand. Dining inside and out. Staff was extremely friendly and upbeat. Was the friendliest staff we've come across in a long time. The evening front desk clerks Gustavo and Jamal were exceptional, remembered our name and greeted us each time we passed by and asking about our stay. I didn't get his name but the guy who wore a pink shirt both days was wonderful, saw him during the day. Don't know exactly what his title is but he got the bicycles & keys for the locks, loaded our luggage on cart when checking out as waiting on our car, got us ice for our cooler and loaded our car. Would definitely stay again.

Jessica G.

Yelp
This is a whimsical hotel which is reminiscent of old-style South Beach. The rooms are good sized even if the bathrooms are a bit small (there is a full-sized shower = bonus). The restaurant out front provides options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a patio overlooking the famed South Beach waterfront park walkway and lovely ocean views. The real showstopper for this hotel is the staff. After a late check-out following our cruise vacation, we headed to the airport. As we were getting ready to board our plane, we got a call from the hotel letting us know we left our passports in the safe in our room. I had a minor freak out as I was leaving two days later from SLC for a 10-day trip to Europe and needed that passport. Victor Tally calmly explained how I could order a pre-paid FedEx pick up. Victor emailed me the hotel address and continued to communicate with me as the passports were picked up by FedEx. Thankfully the passports arrived on our doorstep the next morning in time for my trip. Victor went above and beyond and made a potentially devastating situation manageable and helped get me to a happy result with a good story to tell. I won't be leaving the passport in Europe! The service at this hotel is the real star - thank you to everyone who helped us make sure we had our documents! Highly recommend Winter Haven for your South Beach stay!

Yelp
I am a Bonvoy Platinum Member and only stay at Marriott/Westin Hotels. I have stayed at many Signature Collection and all have been nice. Unfortunately, Winter Haven is a complete dump. Winter Haven is not the standard you would expect from Bonvoy and I am surprised the company is associated with this hotel. Pictures show cheap and falling apart furniture. The air conditioner wasn't working properly and the room was damp and sticky. At the restaurant on Sunday morning at 8:30, I ordered croissants and was told it would take an hour. They brought toast that wasn't toasted. If you are expecting Bonvoy Marriott/Westin standards, stay away from Winter Haven.

Yelp
Overall stay was very good. I came during the weekdays and stayed for 3 nights. Therefore, my stay was a little bit more peaceful than others. I also had to endure a very cloudy/rainy trip, so that was another reason. It looks like the lobby and business areas have been renovated recently. Both look pretty nice. The front desk staff, including Esteban and the others, were very hospitable and respectful. It's been said in previous reviews and I can attest to it. The hotel itself is not big (to maintain the art deco style) and it has attempted to either retrofit or maintain the original colors and integrity where possible. I had a room with one king bed. Wasn't big and didn't have views, but it was clean and there was effort made to update where possible. The bathroom is small, but clean and new. I like the ceiling fans in the room as well. Other benefits included the complimentary water bottles and fast internet (free) in the room. As part of the resort fee, you get free beach chairs with Boucher Bros when you're at the beach. That's a pretty nice use of the fee. I couldn't fully take advantage because of the rain. Other benefit is that the hotel has bikes you can take out and go on a stroll for up to 2 hours at any given time on a first-come first-serve basis. All in all, if you're not too concerned with having the greatest hotel room on your stay, I'd consider staying in this hotel.

Yelp
Very very disappointing. This does NOT represent the typical Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. As a platinum member, who stays at autographs frequently, I am not sure how they claim this level of status or exclusivity. I understand it's Miami, and you want to maintain a level of authenticity to the old school strip, but leave that to a boutique hotel. Don't put Marriott or even worse, an Autograph Collection title on it. No room service, no cleaning, valet took over 30 minutes (and we STILL didn't have our car, forced to take an Uber so we didn't lose our dinner reservation), just really really expected so much more for what we paid. Next time we will give in and just stay at the Ritz or avoid the beach all together and head downtown.

Yelp
The photos show a beautiful bright airy beachside Art Deco hotel. In reality the structure is beautiful and tastefully designed. However, the furnishings, carpets and painted Surfaces are worn and are desperately in need of renovation. Poorly lit dark hallways can be scary to guests traveling alone or accessing the room at night. If you're a frequent guest of Marriott properties and their standard of guest accommodations you will be deeply dissapointed. like most things location is everything and on that count the hotel is perfect. Beach access with chairs and service hopefully will make the stay worth while. This is definitely not a South Beach ResoET destination! if you're seeking luxury book elsewhere... - disappointed

Yelp
The only reason this hotel gets any stars at all is the staff and location. Cannot beat either. To be able to walk across the street to Miami South Beach was the best part. Marriott either doesn't care about the property or it's too good of a money maker to shut down for some TLC. The hotel itself is in dire need of help. The paint is pealing off the exterior and looks moldy where water drips from ledges. The interior lobby is spacious but needs a deep cleaning, some new couches and paint. The lobby music is too loud. We ate breakfast the first day here and it was not great. It was the only meal we ate in the hotel. I can't remember the last hotel that didn't offer some sort of breakfast or coffee in the lobby for guests. The room also needs new rugs. Our room was small but clean and there were plenty of towels. Our partial ocean view was exactly as expected. The staff was great even though it looks to me as if the Marriott Corp does a terrible job managing this property.

Yelp
Stayed one night here, and I've gotta say well done. Everyone is very kind and helpful. The rooms are excellent. If I ever come back to Miami Beach I'll definitely be staying here. Big thank you to Eazy for being so kind and helpful.

Yelp
Great service, clean room and amazing view of the ocean! Strongly recommend! Also very close to just about everything. They provide bicycles for free to go roam around for the day.

Yelp
The location was great! Oceanside and literally steps away from the beach. Rooms were clean however no-one came to clean my room the three days I was there. Everyday I went out and came back and to the room I was disappointed that my bed wasn't made, trash wasn't emptied and towels haven't been changed. I made a point to write a thank you note with cash tip for the maid service however my cash was also still there. Oh well- hence the 4 stars. The bathroom has L'occitan body wash, shampoo and conditioner- smells very good! The service at the front desk was excellent. They have water bottles for you, attentive and if you forget toothpaste, a toothbrush and a razor they have it there. This hotel was purchased through Priceline on express deals with a 4-star rating. I got a pretty good deal on it so I can't complain.

Yelp
We booked this hotel at the last minute for a night out in South Beach. I wouldn't say it was a mistake but it is definitely the bottom of the list of hotels that we have stayed at in South Beach. The staff was friendly enough but we were told there were no upgrades available because the hotel was "booked solid" but it was evident it was not. The rooms are very much in need of upgrades. The furniture is worn, the materress was lumpy, and it took forever for the shower to get hot (we were on the second floor). Also there are almost no electric outlets. We charged our phones in the small bathroom. The hotel is well situated but we wouldn't stay there again.

Yelp
I have to say I got the true Art Deco south beach experience here. A small boutique hotel with small rooms but the friendly personalized service from the staff was amazing and exactly what I needed!

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE. Their restaurant has the WORST SERVICE. The waitresses are blatantly RUDE, and IGNORED us when we wanted to ask about their menu. I politely tried to call one of them over, and she turns around, looks straight at us, and then turns BACK AROUND to chat with another one of the waitresses. They try to scam their customers in any way possible. Confirmed by inside sources, they have multiple menus which they use to try to scam your money. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Yelp
This hotel was phenomenal it was a great place for some R&R I'm really glad I went to South Beach over the holiday and I can't wait to go back again soon! The beach, the location, the food and of course the scenery. I felt alive!

Yelp
So I would really go 2 1/2 but I don't want to trash the place. I stay at a lot of Marriotts though and although this hotel is affiliated with Marriott it does not live up to Marriott standards. Although the rooms are small they were clean and the lobby is nice. The WiFi is AWFUL. I went when I needed to work a bit and this was very frustrating - and the staff while mostly pretty helpful was useless in this regard. The restaurant was pretty good and I went for dinner. The roof top was very nice (they should do more with it) and you should bring yourself something to drink and chill up there before heading out. There is ample public parking on 13th close by and they also offer reasonable valet parking. Down the street is Finnegans Way which is an Irish Pub - Sports Bar and good for tipping a few. All of this said, anyone should set low expectations for hotels in South Beach. Most of the places have small rooms and often have small bathrooms and thin walls. The Winter Haven is the same but I don't remember any thin walls. Anyway, you go to SoBe for the vibe and the atmosphere and the beach. This place is right across from the beach and the location on Ocean Drive is great. It is a short walk to Lincoln or Espanaloa way. I definitely would stay here vs anything on Collins.

Yelp
Although the location is good, the level of noise they allowed inside the hotel at all hours is really not aligned with the 350 dollar a night price. Also, my credit card got cloned and had to cancel it causing great inconvenience. When we reported this to the front desk while checking out they were pretty not surprised and not even tried to find out if it was really at their front desk where this happened Very disappointed this is a Marriott linked property

Yelp
The service was very poor. The waiter had an attitude and very extremely slow. I waited nearly 35 min for a single bottle of beer. The food was incredibly over priced and not good enough for the price range. Would absolutely not recommend
