Eva Villa Maui bed & breakfast

Had a wonderful time staying at this cottage in Maui. The cottage is located in a beautiful neighborhood and felt very safe for female travelers. The landscaping on the property makes it feel like a tropical oasis and there is a nice patio area where you can watch/feed the birds. The cottage has beach equipment available to borrow (mats, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear). Rick made every effort to make sure we had everything we needed during our visit. He provided us with recommendations and would stop by to chat about our experiences/plans while on vacation. Rick is truly a one of a kind host, he goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome in Maui.

Rick is an incredible host. This place is a gem. We stayed in the cottage and had plenty of room to spread out. Loved having a private home in Maui! Rick will ensure all your needs are met. Ideal Wailea location. Highly recommend!

My wife and I had a lovely time at the EVA bed-and-breakfast. We stayed in the larger of their two accommodations and found that it fully met our needs. The kitchen area was completely adequate, and there was a good variety of things like olive oil, spices, etc. that made it easy to have a home cooked dinner. There was a lanai off the Living Room, where we ate all our meals, some of which I cooked on a small gas grill out on the deck. Rick provided us birdseed to put into the birdfeeder right off the lanai and we enjoyed watching many kinds of birds come to it as we had our breakfast.||We did eat some meals out, but my point is it wasn’t necessary. We had what we needed right there.||All of this said, the piece de resistance of EVA is the pool! It is exactly as shown in the pictures, and we had exclusive access to it throughout our stay. We sometimes swam in it in the a.m., but we were more likely to go out to great nearby beaches, which were easily accessible with plenty of parking. Then at day’s end we would go to the pool and have our own little happy hour (plastic glasses) for more swimming and the hot tub. ||We loved the location, above the condos strips of downtown Kihei, and less than 10 minutes from Wailea, where everything is really nice.||In short, we had a great time. Rick was a fountain of good advice on the best sites, beaches, dining options, etc. and we both liked him and Dale.||We’ve been to Maui at least ten times, This is a great place that we hope to return to. In our experience, it’s also a bargain.||

The hosts, Rick and Dale, completely saved my husband and I's life by having us here! We are West Maui residents and were completely out of resources during the Lahaina fire and this nice couple took us in immediately to stay at their beautiful villa, we felt like we won the lottery that week because of how stunning their place was and how they treated us like family after having an extremely hectic week. First off, the location is perfect. Right by all the best snorkel spots in South Maui, Ulua beach, turtle town, ahihi, etc! The grounds are absolutely beautiful, you are in a safe, quiet area with a big pool, lush grounds, fruit tree (which they picked for us too!) and great environment. We loved watching the sunset up here cause you are higher up on a hill so the sky views are beautiful by the pool at sunset. They have an abundant amount of towels for you to use and the kitchen had everything we needed. GREAT AIR CONDITIONING! I emphasize that because some rentals on Maui dont have AC or its on a timer, but theirs was strong and worked super fast which is much needed especially after you are out in the sun all day. They also have laundry for you to use which was awesome! We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Maui. You will be in great hands with Rick and Dale, such sweet hosts!

Eva Villa was a wonderful place to stay in Maui. The apartment is great -- very comfortable, with every need anticipated. Even fresh pineapple and other fruits when we arrived! Rick gave us great tips for things to do and see on the island and made us feel welcome and at home. The lodging is close to good restaurants and beaches, but in a quiet residential area. The pool area is lovely and relaxing. We would definitely stay again when in Maui.

The Eva Villa is an outstanding place on an outstanding island with outstanding hosts. It is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to stay in a little piece of paradise.

My wife and I absolutely loved Eva Villa! Rick & Dale are wonderful hosts. They had the cottage open and ready for us as soon as we arrived. Rick immediately gave a rundown of all the local restaurants and things to do if not relaxing by the beach! The location is perfect. Tucked away in a private quiet neighborhood just minutes from beaches, restaurants and resorts. We stayed in the cottage, which is separate from the main house, but only steps away from the pool/jacuzzi. One of the highlights of our morning was sitting on the deck drinking coffee while watching the birds feed. We would highly recommend staying at Eva Villa. Rick & Dale went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and fun! We will definitely book again when returning to Maui! P.S. Make sure to try Ricks special blend of Maui coffee :)

Eva Villa is located in a quiet and well established neighborhood. There are many nice gardens around. It’s in the hill side of the Wailea. We had two weeks delightful time there in Maui. Our studio house is large and spacious. We spent a lot time in the poolside backyard. The birds were our companions. I often felt it was a small oasis from the busy Maui streets. Rick and Dale are great hosts. They provided local information to make our plan easier. There are two other units and all have plentiful private space. Rick’s yard had fruits to offer. And don’t miss the farmer’s market. Rick will tell you all.

We had a wonderful experience here in April 2019. We stayed at the detached cottage. A quiet haven, with the stillness broken by birdsong alone. The hosts are lovely people who have been doing this for 20+ years. Great pool too! If you're a bird lover, do fill up the bird feeder--the hosts have a seed supply handy. We had lots of fun photographing the antics of Java sparrows, cardinals, mourning doves, lovebirds, Japanese white-eyes etc.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! The only way to describe the experience we had at Rick and Dale's Eva Villa BnB! We stayed in the private cottage from Apri 23rd to May 2nd, a total 9 nights and loved every moment! We were in Maui for our wedding and then honeymoon and Rick & Dale made sure that we were enjoyed our entire stay! First let me say, we are in our mid to late twenties' and this is wonderful place is for all ages, especially if you are looking for a more romantic/private feel away from the touristy resort area (though Eva Villa is only 5 mins. from some of Maui's best beaches). Eva Villa was our tropical oasis! When we first arrived we were greeted with Rick's warm welcoming smile! He has a way of making you feel like family. He introduced himself, showed us around our cottage, then went over some local restaurants, things to do, pretty much helped us plan our entire trip! He also was so sweet and had champagne and a card waiting for us. My sister had called him and asked if he could buy these items as a wedding gift to us. He even wrote in the card for her. C'mon, who does that? Just so sweet! Let me also mention, even before we arrived Rick & Dale were so helpful through email. They told us where to find the cheapest rental car, explained that it would be best to buy tickets for our Luau ahead of time because they sell out, and answered all sorts of other questions we had. What I loved most about our stay were the beautiful early mornings. You wake up to the birds singing right outside your window. So enchanting! We would fill the bird feeder and would watch the finches eat away. We had fresh fruit every morning, yummy bagels and muffins, and delicious coffee. This place really feels like home! Rick & Dale do give you your privacy and ask you to contact them when you need more fruit, or breakfast items. We had made a joke about wanting a papaya because we had just finished the last one, and literally the next morning Rick went to the market and got us papaya! You can tell Rick & Dale have a lot of pride in Eva Villa and in what they do. The day we were leaving we had to check out by 10am because there were guests coming in after us. We had about 4 hours to burn before we had to head to the airport and Rick & Dale let us come back and shower in one of their empty suites after spending the afternoon at the beach. How freaking nice? You don't find that type of hospitality just anywhere. I highly recommend this place to anyone. We hope to return for a future anniversary. Things I loved: Beautiful neighborhood (great for running, awesome hills), close to beaches, close to great restaurants, fully equipped kitchen (we cooked dinners a few night and had everything we needed), affordable, Monkey Boy(the sweet cottage cat), Hot tub & Pool, outside shower, washer & dryer, beautiful grounds, Extremely clean, Plenty of soft towels, and Rick & Dale(Two of the sweetest people in all of Maui)! Cons: There are none!

Eva Villa is the property next door to mine. The people who run it, Rick and Dale Pounds are great neighbors and wonderful hosts. I've lived next to Eva Villa for over a dozen years and every guest I've ever met loves the experience of staying there. This is also the place where our friends and neighbors stay when they come to visit us. Great property, great people, great experience! If you stay here, ask Rick to introduce you to his neighbor Bob before you leave.

We had a wonderful stay at Eva's villa ! Rick and dale were more than accommodating! We really enjoyed staying in the pool side studio! We will be back again!

We stayed at the cottage for four nights and had a great time. The price was VERY reasonable especially compared to big resorts nearby. Rick and Dale are extremely accommodating and friendly. They make great recommendations for local adventures, restaurants, snorkeling trips and more. Every place we ate at on the island was a recommendation from them and we loved them all. The cottage has everything you need for a great trip to Maui. Highly recommend Eva Villa!!!!

My wife and I stayed in the cottage - 4 days of our Honeymoon. Rick and Dale were fantastic hosts. The cottage was perfect for us. They were stocked with all the items needed for us to go spend several days on the beach (mats, snorkel gear, umbrella, towels, coolers). The deck gave us plenty of time to enjoy the crystal clear night skies that we don't see in Washington. The night sounds were peaceful, and being outside of the touristy noise / hustle and bustle was exactly what we needed. We are a young 40's couple and appreciated everything that we were provided. I would give them a 6 out of 5 if I could.... Super fantastic value, and amazing owners. Highly recommend this over a resort or hotel.
