This is a little place connected to the Evangeline Beach Resort. Way off the beaten path. Came here during a tour of north Ilocos which included the wind turbines. This restaurant overlooks the white sand beach of Pagudpud. It wasen't busy at all for lunch, we were the only customers when we arrived. 2 other groups showed up when we were almost done.
Based on the food alone i wouldve given them 2 stars. We ordered a noodle dish as well as a bananna and mango crepe with a freshly cut coconut juice. The noodle dish was bad. Didnt taste good at all, and the noodles were lacking. There was barely any protein on it. In regards to the crepe, at first they said they had no mango, so it was gonna be a bananna crepe. Then they said they had no bananna and all they had were strawberries. Turns out they meant strawberry jam, there werent even any real strawberries in it!!! The crepe itself was so so. They drizzled some chocalate on top. I would give it 3 stars. The coconut was good. They cut it right there in the establishment which u can watch. It was fresh. Others in the group ordered the halo halo and they said it wasen't as good as the ones in manila.
But the reason they get 4 stars is location location location!! You cant beat eating with a view of white sand beaches and crystal clear water. Listening to the constant crashing of the waves. It was magnificent!! I couldve sat there for hours taking in the sites and sounds. There are limited seating areas on the beach which im not sure if you could eat there, but that would've elevated the experience.
They also had a dog and a cat running around the tables. Dont know if thats a filipino thing, but was offputting. Also they had just bleached the area so it smelled like cleaner which was also offputting. Its sad that such a beautiful area had such little foot traffic.
