Evans Lookout offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Grose Valley, with visitors praising its stunning cliff-top vistas and serene atmosphere, though the area can get busy. It serves as a popular starting point for challenging valley hikes, including the famous Grand Canyon walk, which is known for its numerous steps and changing scenery. The lookout is easily accessible from Blackheath, with a short, well-maintained path from a small car park leading to the primary viewing platform.

I visited this place on a sunny afternoon, just as the sunlight reached halfway down the valley. The air was cool and refreshing, and the trees were lush and green. There were long walking trails perfect for exploring, and plenty of parking spaces available. Many people had come to enjoy the breathtaking views. I spent an entire day in the Blue Mountains, and it was absolutely worth it — one of the best days I’ve had.

Evans Lookout is one of the most stunning viewpoints in the Blue Mountains. The lookout gives a breathtaking, panoramic view over the Grose Valley, with endless cliffs, dense forest, and shifting light that makes every visit unique. It’s easy to access, with a short walk from the car park, and there are well-marked walking tracks nearby for those who want to explore deeper. Sunrise and sunset are especially magical here, as the valley glows with rich colors. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves nature, photography, or just wants a quiet place to take in the beauty of the mountains.

Parking is next to the start of the walk to the lookout. Toilets are also here and were clean. The walk to the lookout is paved and wheelchair friendly. Some of the pathways have rails, and there are also 2 spaces to sit along the walk. It's about a 5 minute walk to the viewing area, which has more seating. Lovely view and well worth the visit.

Beautiful lookout and the start of The Grand Canyon walk. My favourite of all the walks we did in The Blue Mountains NP. Lots of stairs and a good level of fitness recommended. Go clockwise if you want a gentler climb out of the canyon or anticlockwise if your knees don't like going down steep steps. 10/10. 😁

Visited Evans Lookout for the first time on a rainy day, and it turned out to be a truly peaceful and memorable experience. The soft rain and mist made the whole valley look mystical and serene—nature in its purest form. It was quiet, calm, and perfect for slowing down and just taking in the beauty around. The views over the Grose Valley are absolutely stunning, even in overcast weather. The walking tracks are well-maintained, clearly marked, and safe, making it a great place for both casual walkers and more serious hikers. A wonderful spot to enjoy nature, take photos, or just breathe in the fresh mountain air. Highly recommend, whether it's sunny or raining!

Stunning - not to be missed. This place has a great trail system attached to it, incredible views, nice camping bathrooms, good parking, plenty of places to sit, and paths right up to the views that are wheel chair friendly.

Evan’s Lookout is an absolute gem in the Blue Mountains. The panoramic views over the Grose Valley are simply stunning, especially at sunrise or sunset when the colours are magical. It’s a peaceful spot, perfect for soaking in nature’s beauty or starting one of the nearby bushwalks like the Grand Canyon Track. The area is well-maintained, with plenty of space to sit and take it all in. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet, scenic spot that showcases the best of the Blue Mountains.

Yelp
If you've ever wanted to feel just how tiny and blip-like we are as humans, Evans Lookout is probably a good space to begin your dive into admiring natural wonders of the world. Down a winding road that turns off just before the main street of Blackheath you'll find the lookout parking bays. From here the lookout is maybe 300m walking. You can continue on a greater hike but that'll take you 3-4 hours. The view across the valley is sobering, majestic, and, although it seems to simplistic, breathtaking. If you're in the area and doing all the Blue Mountain sight-seeing it's worth adding to your list.

Yelp
Another stunning lookout point in the Blue Mountains, there is parking & toilets available but enter at your own risk as it is one of those non-flush loo's where everything is collected at the bottom... Ewww! The lookout area has an elevated area where you can sit, pour yourself a tea from your thermos & take in the majestic view. If you walk about 200m down the path on the left it'll open up to another viewing area that is completely unbarricaded where you can sit cautiously on the side of the cliff. Complete bliss!
