Evedals Vandrarhem Växjö

I recently spent 3 nights as a solo traveller in the Växjö Hostel Evedal. ||The journey from the airport to the hostel was relatively easy - 2 different bus connections and then a brief 15 minute walk!! Absolutely worth being just that little bit out of the way though. ||The hostel is situated in a beautiful campground surrounded by nature and forests. The constant birdsong made the atmosphere very pleasant. The hostel is also facing the Lake. There are many bike trails in this area and it only takes 20 minutes to bike to town - easy as. I definitely recommend getting around by bike! ||The room’s are pretty standard. Bed linen and towels are available for hire from the reception and there is also an optional breakfast available each morning (at a cost!!). The floor is super creaky but otherwise everything was good. ||The two ladies at reception were both friendly. ||If I am to visit Växjö again, I would return to this hostel. Quite satisfactory :-)

A floorball girl team stayed over for one night and half a day.||We arrived late but were given a code to get inside and the keys to our rooms was found on the reception disk. We where very tired and it was late so we got into our rooms and went to bed. (The rooms where equipped with a number of beds depending on size and a basin, the bathroom and shower facilities where found close by.)||In the morning we ate breakfast (booked for all of us for 70 sek each). It was pretty good with most of the normal breakfast stuff.||The girls took a long walk around the very nice area and we bought groceries so the girls could cook dinner in the kitchen. ||We ate then had a short gathering in the nice attic socializing area, after that we cleaned the rooms, left the keys in the reception and left the hostel, quite satisfied.

We used the hostel for a stop-over on our way to Vimmerby. The hostel is placed directly on a 'beach' with great swimming options.||Breakfast was good, but a bit crowed in the breakfast-room. Luckily it was 20+ degrees so people could use the outside tables as well.||Nice kitchen facilities with refrigerator and freezer.||You have to bring your own bed linen/towel (or rent it for 70 SEK) and clean the room your self. The latter wasn't written on the booking-page, but the equipment was just outside the door and it took 5 minutes.

Awesome scenic location, warm and spacious rooms, and such warm hearted staff with the delicious morning breakfast! Loved staying here. Ideal place to get away from the hustle if the city on weekends!

Spent a long week-end at Vandrarhem Evedal. ||The hostel is located on a lake, with a beautiful view and surroundings (please see pictures).||Cycling paths (e.g. Vexjio 40 km round tour) and walking paths nearby. ||You can reach Vaxjo city center by bus (bus stop some 700m from the hostel, buses run every 30 mins, bus trip lasts some 10-15 mins).||Good breakfast and two nice restaurants with terrace just next to the hostel.||The staff is very kind and supportive, which contributed to a really great stay!

This place is what it says on the tin. It is a hostel, which is clean enough (you clean your own room) and run by some ladies who are friendly enough.||||It is one step up from camping but it is not a 3-star hotel, so get your expectations right.

Clean, well organized. Good breakfast. Beautiful surroundings.
