Google
An absolute hidden gem in the heart of Banff town centre for great coffee and pastries! My daughter’s name is Evelyn, so this place made her feel really special. The coffee is rich, smooth, and expertly brewed, making it a perfect stop for caffeine lovers. Their pastries are fresh and delicious, pairing beautifully with a latte or cappuccino. The cozy, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make it an ideal spot to relax, recharge, or grab a quick bite before exploring Banff. Whether you’re after a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon treat, Evelyn’s Coffee Bar is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality coffee in a charming setting.

Google
I’ve been living in Banff for a year and a half, and Evelyn’s Coffee Bar has become one of my regular spots. The coffee is always great, and the service is top-notch. Shubham, in particular, is fantastic—he consistently anticipates what I need and makes every visit a pleasant one. Highly recommend this place!

Google
One of the best coffee spots I’ve tried in Banff :) Can’t say the same about their matcha though, but I guess that’s why it’s more of a coffee bar haha. Really good coffee and great atmosphere!

Google
It is located in the middle of town. Good size coffee shop. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. Reasonable prices.

Google
Double chocolate cookie…just get one or more. This is a massive size. Is the size of my hand and is thick. Pop in the microwave for 13 seconds to let it soften. It not too sweet which is perfect cause I ate it all lol. It’s so freaking good! Get one before you leave

Google
My new favourite place to get some work done! Has a decent amount of seating, and never seems to be too loud unlike some of the other coffee shops in town (perfect for working or meeting up with a friend). Lovely staff with great service, pretty view, and wonderful coffee. Definitely recommend :)

Google
This is our favorite coffee shop in Banff. It has become a family tradition to visit here every time we come to Banff, especially after a hike. We love to sit down and enjoy a latte, cake, soup, and sandwiches. However, we were a bit disappointed during our visit yesterday. I ordered four lattes and two hot chocolates for the kids, along with our favorite paninis. Unfortunately, I was informed that they could not serve paninis anymore because the grill had already been cleaned. I would understand if we were only 15 minutes from closing, but we arrived at 6:20, and they didn’t close until 7. Despite this experience, we will continue to come to this place because the staff is very welcoming.

Google
During our trip from Ontario to Banff, we came across Evelyn’s Coffee Bar and decided to give it a try. We ordered iced coffee, and it was really smooth and flavorful — perfect for a warm day. We also tried the sandwiches, which were fresh and delicious. What really stood out, though, was the service. Shubham was incredibly friendly, and we had a great conversation since he's also originally from Toronto. He made us feel right at home. It's a cozy, welcoming spot with great food and even better people. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here for a snack in between lunch and dinner. Ham and cheese croissant and Spinach Feta Danish it is! They were nice enough to heat it up, but wish it was a bit hotter. It cooled down pretty fast by the time I sat down. The Spinach Feta Danish was good, but maybe because it wasn't fresh it tasted "heavy".....like oily. The flavor was still good. The H&C Croissant did the job. Nothing to rave about. I had ordered a latte once before and cannot remember whether it was good or not. -_-

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by this little cafe in the downtown banff area. I was very excited to see that they had matcha latte here but was quite disappointed in the drink. I personally thought the matcha latte didn't really have much matcha taste to it. My friend also ordered a Chai Latte and it was also a bit underwhelming. However, I thought the staff were very nice and that cafe itself seemed really cute.

Kaneesia Kamil C.

Yelp
Was very intrigued with the "Banff's Favorite Coffee" They didn't disappoint, but I wouldn't also say it's the best coffee I've ever tasted. Service was ok! All they did was really take the order. Place can be packed. Plenty of chairs and tables to sit and hang around. My drink: Mocha - very rich in flavor. My friends also enjoyed their flat white and latte!

Yelp
My friends and I were walking through the town and before finishing our shopping decided to stop by Evelyn's for an afternoon pick-me-up. Despite all of the busyness outside, inside the shop felt warm and cozy. I ordered my usual, an iced latte with vanilla--it was creamy and delicious. Definitely the drink I needed at that time. Given how busy it was all over town, it took about 15 minutes or so for my drink to be prepared, a little longer than I would have liked but I understood. Staff were super friendly. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
While spending our 30th wedding anniversary in Canada, we had a day that was just cold, rainy and even a bit snowy. We decided to head into the town of Banff and explore a little bit. We came upon this cute lil coffee shop and boy was I glad. As most of my Yelp friends know I am a matcha latte' lover and I always try them wherever I go. This place was no exception so of course I ordered one and my husband enjoyed a mocha. Since the day was chilly, I ordered a hot one. I was very pleased. This matcha was so delicious. One of the best I have drank. This great coffee bar opened in 1992. It is a good size business with seating in the front and the back. They serve all kinds of espresso drinks, have a terrific tea menu and also serve sandwiches and other bites. They also provide catering services. Service was friendly and helpful. This is a very popular coffee bar and there were lots of travelers like us enjoying their drinks. Be sure to stop in when in Banff for a morning or afternoon pick me up.

Yelp
Surprised to see low ratings as this was my favorite coffee in Banff! The ambiance isn't the best and at first comes off with the vibes a chain place would but the coffee is very good. I had a decaf iced mocha with oatmilk. Coffee flavor was great and the mocha had a deep dark chocolate flavor. They have a pre-packaged gluten free/dairy free brownie here that was yummy. My friend ordered an iced chai and said it was really good; however, he did not care for the regular banana bread

Patty C.

Yelp
Lovely! The warm egg and bacon sandwich was delicious and the ambience is so peaceful! Lots of delicious breakfast options! Prices are very reasonable and service was fast but friendly. We'll be back tomorrow. We enjoyed Evelyn's local coffee in our hotel so we looked for this shop. So glad we found Evelyn's.

Yelp
not very good apple coffee cake was stale same with blueberry muffin but coffee was decent breakfast sandwich seemed pr made but not good definitely not coming back

Yelp
Matcha latte with oat milk was great and lightly sweetened, with a robust matcha flavor. Lattes and cappuccinos are also good but not as strong/roasted in flavor as I would've liked. Almond croissant was soft and buttery, but the almond filling was rather too sweet for me.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Some communication challenges at first. Coffee was very good. Breakfast sandwiches were ok (good just not amazing). Pumpkin pie was very good

Yelp
We (3 adults, 2 kindergarteners) went in just craving something hot to drink. We got a Soy milk decaf latte (for me), a almond milk hot chocolate for someone in our party with a dairy allergy and a matcha latte. All three drinks were delicious! The matcha latte was mildly sweet. The hot chocolate was chocolatey without any sweetness. The soy milk decaf latte was frothy, not sweet, but had the perfect coffee flavor. The place had a great ambience, and parking was right behind the mall in which this shop is located. The parking cost us only $2 for an hour. I highly recommend visiting this coffee store when you visit Banff.

Yelp
I love the smell of fresh latte's in the morning especially if they come from a cute coffee shop! Evelyn's Coffee Bar has everything your looking for with ALL the cute coffee shop vibes! As soon as you walk in you're welcomed with the sweet aroma of fresh brewing espresso & the hissing of the frother! They have a wide selection of beverages hot & ice along with lots of tasty treats from bagel sandwiches to muffins & scones to chocolate croissants! You simply can't go wrong! They also offer vegan & gf options that look delicious as well! There is something here for every coffeehouse lover! Come in & warm up this chill Banff holiday season! Enjoy! Cheers!

Yelp
Came about a month ago and had a lovely blonde girl serve me I forget her name she said she was from ontario and made me an excellent hot chocolate and latte! She was also working with a short brunette girl who was very nice and talkative! Amazing service and super pretty drinks! Had high hopes returning this past week but wasn't as impressed. Servers were much less bubbly and the energy of people and music were more depressing. Still good drinks but didn't have that above and beyond service that I loved. Cute spot!

Yelp
Popped in here on Christmas Day as I didn't hit the slopes and needed a place to grab a bite to eat and chill. There was a long line, but it went by quickly and the barista girls were super nice and friendly. I ordered a hot cocoa and a spinach feta pastry. They had wifi, but I could't get my iPhone to connect so I just journaled while drinking my cocoa. The pastry was soft and yummy. I should have ordered more food as I was still hungry heading back to the hotel. Oops! In addition to coffee, they have food, lattes, and some merchandise for sale, like cute mugs and apparel. This is a great spot to grab a warm beverage on a cold day in downtown Banff!

Yelp
We stopped here to get a late lunch to go. We tried a vegetarian savory pastry, their smoked salmon bagel, and their chocolate strawberry cheesecake. We enjoyed all of the items but felt as if it was a bit pricier than some of the other cafes we had stopped at in Banff. The staff were kind and helpful.
google avatar

Morgan S.

Yelp
I got the pumpkin spice latte!! It was good!! They have a bunch of flavors to choose between! It isn't anything to brag about but definitely good!
google avatar

Barbara H.

Yelp
Good black coffee for a good price. My sister got a caramel latte that she really enjoyed too. They serve it in a ceramic mug if you are staying to enjoy and offer sandwiches and breakfast breads.
google avatar

Yelp
Waking into Evelyn's is like finding your neighborhood latte spot. Love the variety of seating ranging from a huge wooden table reminiscent of Game of Thrones at the Red Wedding to smallish tables for 1 or 2. In the back is some additional seating up a split level & don't forget the barstools atthe windows. I tried an egg nog latte from here and it was excellent! The espresso roast here was perfect. I was admittedly skeptical when the barista told a customer they made a latte WAY better than Starbucks (after all, I'm a Seattle girl at heart). But after 1 sip I was a believer! Their baked goods and sandwiches didn't appeal to me at all but the latte was divine! I will most definitely stop in next time I'm in Banff.

Yelp
Excellent pastries (especially the cannoli ), excellent coffee and a nice cozy atmosphere. Bought croissant sandwiches for our afternoon hike and they were delightful. Service is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend.
google avatar

Carlos Magno C.

Yelp
Great vibe and coffee! Pastries are fantastic also! They should have more of the chocolate croissant, though. It's gone fast. Keep up with the good quality guys!
google avatar

Yelp
I used to frequent Evelyn's quite often when I lived in the Bow Valley and it was a frequent meeting spot for me and my friends. The staff were really nice and friendly and always made you fell welcome. Precovid seating was adequate and we rarely had a problem getting a table. Always ended up having some baked good because of how engaging the staff were. This is the key for coffee shops to learn especially in Calgary where coffee shop staff seem so robotic and don't appear to enjoy their jobs; just going through the motions for a pay check. Same goes for most Calgary waitressing personnel.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cozy place. We enjoyed some coffee, and some deserts. The coffee beans used was very flavourful. The deserts were made with high quality ingredients. Such as fresh cream, nuts, fruits, and made to perfection. We will return !!!
google avatar

Lee M.

Yelp
A perfect flat white...Apple cider, mint tea ... all great. I'm happy... And really friendly service provided by folks with Aussie accents. I feel like I'm in Melbourne! Came on a different day and has a nice tea and one of their huge ginger crackle cookies. Also yummy!!
google avatar

Yelp
I love Evelyn's so much. I hadn't been to Banff since about 2011, but I remembered how delicious their coffee was. And I still use the coffee mug that I bought there all that time ago. This is not Tim Horton's. Or even Starbucks. They hand craft each drink, and it takes time. It's going to seem like it's taking way too long. But the second you take a sip, it will all be okay and you'll forget how long you waited. I had a pumpkin spice latte... no fake pumpkin taste here. it was Autumn in a cup. Absolutely perfect. I love all the mugs and other merchandise they have for sale in the store... not to mention all the coffee beans! It's lovely. Please stop by and check them out.

Yelp
Service was fast and friendly. Price was okay. Our coffee and chocolate were the perfect temperature and flavor. I got a small (latte) which was good. Any larger would get cold easily with current temperatures. The inside is cute with plenty of seating and free wifi. Way better than stopping at a chain like Starbucks by far!
google avatar

Yelp
BEST cup of coffee I have EVER had in my life!!! The Cafe Mocha is to die for (make sure to ask for the whipped cream). We ordered a piece of pecan pie (delicious) and also a Trail Cookie (equally amazing) which was loaded with chocolate chips, coconut, sunflower seeds and raisins. I wish I lived here, so that I could come here everyday! The staff are also super friendly and kind!

Emily C.

Yelp
We had a great experience here the matcha lattes were delicious and our breakfast sandwiches had two eggs! All places should really do that. Yes it was busy but hello if a place is busy then it means that it was worth the wait in the end.
google avatar

Lydia F.

Yelp
Stopped here for a jolt of caffeine and it smells absolutely amazing in here. Plenty of seating available with a selection of sweet bakery treats. There is coffee products and cups available for sale along the walls of the store. The service was friendly and they even provide free wifi. Great atmosphere for just a mid day break! Drink was made perfectly :)
google avatar

Ksenia P.

Yelp
So I was being very confusing with my order and the staff managed to be calm and polite with me, so bonus points for that! Anyways, I ordered an iced matcha lattè with almond milk, and let me just say, it is magical. It is so tasty and I very much highly recommend it. There's also a cool atmosphere in here. All in all, great stuff!
google avatar

Liz J.

Yelp
Love the iced mocha espresso . It has a very different but Delicious flavor. Good atmosphere. Outdoor seating is nice. Staff was great. Clear menu board. I would visit again.
google avatar

Ruggy J.

Yelp
I don't think anyone is expecting Seattle or Portland quality coffee in the same small town where you have to beware of wild mating elk during the wintertime, but this coffee shop leaves a lot to be desired. For a space to sit around and enjoy wifi, it's just fine. If you left your hotel to grab a better cup of coffee than you can make in your room, you might be disappointed. Perhaps I caught them on two bad days, but after a couple less-than-stellar experiences, I was ready to move on. On the bright side, the staff were all very nice, which almost mitigates their shortcomings. Emphasis on 'almost'.
google avatar

Kristine F.

Yelp
Great place for hot chocolate. Not too sweet, and hits the spot. They make the hot chocolate creamy and chocolate-y, with chocolate whip cream to boot! It makes for a unique hot chocolate experience that satisfy the craving especially on a called winter evening. The ambiance is very cozy, most people are here to hang out with friends or read a book on their own. It's not exactly a conducive environment to get work done on a laptop like at Starbucks. I like Evelyn's Coffee Bar for that reason. Friends, families, all congregate here for coffee, hot chocolate, snacks and pies. It's even more perfect if you order your drinks for here, so they can put it in a ceramic or glass mug in which to enjoy your piping hot chocolate. They have ample seating, with tables for different sized groups. Whether you're here on your own, with a friend or a big group, there's a place for you. It's attached to a mall with other shops so there's always a lot of people here.

Avery F.

Yelp
beware: didn't know what capers were. bagel wasn't toasted. no cream cheese. all water in the chai. Sorry I'm a little buzzed. Anyways, good oat milk tho.
google avatar

Anni S.

Yelp
Had some coffee and pies, pretty good. Lots of people here! They are always busy. They do offer WiFi, so it will be a good spot to hang out.
google avatar

V T.

Yelp
This place has "award winning cookies". I don't get it. They were okay, but not amazing. And the gal working the counter just dropped it while it was wrapped in Saran plastic wrap on a plate, cold. She acted like it was an inconvenience and strange request that I asked for her to microwave it so it's warm to enjoy with my coffee. For a place that shows off amazing cookies, they really need to revisit their policy. They need to unwrap cookies before plating. They need to warm them up before handing it out. Or at least ask.
google avatar

Jadyn N.

Yelp
Coffee was really good and well made. I don't drink much coffee these days cause a lot drinks are getting more sweet. The Mocha here is rich and not sweet and I really enjoy it. There pastry is good as well and not super sweet. Nice coffee shop with plenty of seating as well as free wifi.
google avatar

Rushi T.

Yelp
This coffee shop is right in Banff downtown and has classy looks and ambience. They have patio and indoor sitting area with variety of coffee options. We tried decaf cappuccino and was perfect with excellent coffee art. As place is right at Banff avenue, so it's relaxing to sit there sip coffee and see people walking around.
google avatar

Blair Y.

Yelp
I love this place. A weekend in Banff isn't complete for me without a morning coffee and Trail cookie from Evelyn's. The Trail Cookie here is my favourite cookie ever. I had a Chai Latte this time around which was delicious. Have had their coffee and Mocha in the past, all are excellent. We have also had their other cookies, apple pie, and sausage rolls. Nothing has disappointed. Comfy spot, great hot drinks, friendly staff, tasty food. What else do you need?
google avatar

Rena G.

Yelp
Why am I waiting forever for coffee? Why are there 9 people waiting for their orders? Why is there only one person making drinks with a wrapped up line approaching the door? Why is another woman just pacing around the back counter not doing anything? Why do you not have change available? Why am I waiting this long for a black iced coffee? Well I won't be any more!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Simple little coffee shop accessible from the main sidewalk through town or enter in through the mall. Offers a couple of snacks and cookies along with a full variety of options for coffee, lattes, and specialty drinks. Starbucks down the street seemed jam packed all the time. This place was just as good with great prices and quick service! Skip the lines and check out Evelyn's!

Laurie R.

Yelp
I enjoyed Evelyn's during my week in Banff. I tried two other highly rated shops and found Evelyn's to have the best combination of good coffee, reasonable prices, comfy seating ( indoors and out ), good music, WiFi, and nice staff. I highly recommend this quiet and comfy coffee shop! Nice vibe!

Jemma C.

Yelp
A local's nightmare. If you want over-priced burnt coffee and huge wait times Evelyn's coffee shop is your one stop shop... For good quality coffee served with a smile I would highly recommend: -Wild Flower -White Bark -Good Earth On more then one occasion I have received terrible customer service from the staff and sadly the owner herself. Both the coffee and service is renowned among locals for being awful. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of the tourist trap that is Evelyn's Coffee Bar.
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Great coffee shop!!! Friendly staff, quick service, great options, and a great environment to enjoy whatever you have ordered.

Lori J.

Yelp
The coffee and tea are good, not great. They have a variety of options for breakfast, however, they just microwave to warm it up. Unfortunately, you end up with items that are scorching on the ends and stone cold in the middle. It seems like all coffee houses use this approach nowadays; Starbucks seems to take the prize for ensuring your sandwich is piping hot, yet still crisp. If the machine they use is available for purchase; I'd suggest businesses invest in getting one. Pastries were just ok; chocolate croissant had a weird aftertaste. Almond croissant was good but the filling was very grainy.
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
Great coffee and chai! Definitely would recommend going to try something aside from Starbucks! They also have tons of outlets for those who are camping.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Whomever came up with the expression "slow as molasses" must have had Evelyn's in mind. Actually, I take that back. That's not a fair assessment. Molasses does move. During my 15 minutes inside this joint the wait line did not move. OK sure they were busy. But that's not what pissed me off. It happens. What pissed me off is that 5 people worked behind the counter and only 1 of them performed actual work. The other 4 people had their thumbs up their arse the whole time and let the 1 person do all the work. But that's not what irked me the most. What irked me the most is that not one employee bothered to look at the wait line. There was absolutely no sense of urgency to trim down the wait line. Nada. None. So I walked out in frustration and went to Starbucks, just a few doors down. Now those guys worked like they had a spark up their keisters. Evelyn's could learn a thing or two from those zippy Starbucks employees.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Evelyn's became my favorite coffee venue during our recent visit to Canmore/Banff. I loved their coffee (dark blend) and their cookies are nothing short of amazing. They also seem to have a lot of nice lunch options...but we did not get a chance to try. I even decided to purchase a pound of their coffee beans to take home when we return to the states. The only drawback is that the service is a little on the slow side....but not enough to keep us from returning 3 times during our 7 day stay. Give this place a try....definitely a great place to spend some time meeting with a friend or enjoying some reading!
google avatar

Evey G.

Yelp
Oookay so this place is absolutely as slow as the other reviews indicate. There is often a long line wrapping back on itself and the poor workers seem so busy trying to get to everyone. Unfortunately the baristas cannot make drinks as fast as the cashier can take the orders. So after waiting in a long line, you will wait an even longer time to actually get your drinks. I honestly only went in here because I share my name with the shop. How could i pass that up?? The pastries and drinks were fine. I would never stand in that line again for them, though. Being asked for my name for the order and seeing the look on the cashier's face when I told her, though? Worth the novelty!

Yelp
On a hot day in Banff, we were searching for a good coffee place to get a cold drink. I saw Starbucks and since I hate that chain, I continued walking looking for other coffee shops. That's when I ran into Evelyn's. There is plenty of seating inside the cafe and free WiFi is available to the customers. Loved the rustic and coffee centric decor and pictures. We got a double chocolate frappuccino and enjoyed the drink. Unlike other coffee places, where the dominant ingredient in a frappe is ice cubes, Evelyn's made the drink just right.
