An incredibly well-managed and cosy corner of the island. Claudia and the rest of the staff make you feel incredibly well during your stay, leaving you space but always being present and available with a nice vibe.
The food of the hotel was always fantastic and on point. We always looked forward to the breakfast, which was good and boasted a good selection. The lunch and dinners were constantly changing, offering mostly local dishes, always well-made, but also a couple options for someone looking for a more westerner break from the curries and fish of the island. Here is the only place where we got to try the typical ugali.
Since it is not close to any city/village, the place is isolated and peaceful. This can be a disadvantage for those looking for more night life, who should probably look for something in Paje. Anyway, Paje is a 5-minute car drive away, and we were relieved not to be chased by people on the beach all the time. In summary, if I had to choose between here and a more populated area, I would go back here. With its nice tables and beds right in the sand, surrounded by an incredible view (and sunrises), as well the main hall right there, we found this place to be the best we've seen within kilometers.
Finally, the rooms are very romantic, and with the priceless perk of stepping right into the sand, with a view and the sound of the ocean.
