Evil Genius

Molly and her team gave my family and I a wonderful meal on my last night in Christchurch! The food was stunning and the team were able to adjust the spice levels on certain dishes to meet our table's needs. I've also never seen the garnish on a cocktail be so well plated and put together - it looked flawless and really made me feel like I was treating myself! The energy in the restaurant was great, all the other guests looked happy and all the team on shift were clearly passionate about what they do. I will definitely visit again on my next trip to the city :)

So many vegetarian options on the menu. The share platters we tried were delicious. The plated cocktail I had was delicious, will definitely be coming back.

Great place for some delicious cocktails and plates to share. The chicken was to die for! We will back again for Cocktails this weekend 😋 Very dog friendly, our dog enjoyed laying in the shade as we had our lunch.

We visited this location for the first time, loved the atmosphere and the venue looked like it would be great for a wedding or special event. Our waitress was lovely, I didn't catch her name but she was very helpful and knowledgeable. The food was good, perhaps not great - we had the Pork Belly Fried Rice and the EFC (Evil Fried Chicken). These were both "large" (perhaps standard is a more suitable description), and at $26 and $28 respectively. The chicken was lovely and hot, but the salt seasoning, I think the Chef went too heavy and there were a few pieces where my mouth burned as the salt was too strong. Unfortunately, there were a few "out of" meals so our choices were limited for the "large" options. Unsure at this stage if we would re-visit, given there are many other asian-fusion options throughout Christchurch which offer "wow" factors

Great spot. The beer was great. They hosted the coolest skateboard jam the other day in the event room and the back patio. It was truly epic! Nice people, nice atmosphere, I recommend stopping by for a hazy.

Took 3 friends who are new to Chch to Evil Genius, and the food absolutely didn’t disappoint…every dish more delicious than the next! The pork belly with stir friend rice, the greens, dumplings, signature chicken and hawker rolls were all fresh and superb! And the cocktails were yum too! We’ll definitely all be back!

We recently had our midwinter Coworking lunch here, 23 of us with a mixture of dietary requirements. The set menu was great, cocktails on point and the service were superb. The expansion into the larger event space has really made the space amazing, love all the hanging plants!
