evo Hotel (Salt Lake City, Utah) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The city and the lake are worthwhile attractions, but for many visitors to Utah’s capital, the mountains are the real draw. Outdoor-focused travelers find much to love in Evo Hotel Salt Lake, a stylish and modern boutique hotel that’s just one part of the Campus development opened by the Seattle-based outdoor retailer Evo. A bouldering gym, an indoor skate park, a yoga and fitness studio, and an art gallery are among the Campus facilities; the hotel itself features a café, a rooftop bar, and a shop that rents and services skis, snowboards, and bicycles — all minutes from the foot of the Wasatch Mountains." - Tablet Hotels

EVO needs to step up their game beyond designer rooms and additional fees. This hotel isn’t family friendly. No mini fridge in the room or in the hotel. One shared microwave. No functional spaces. It’s just Instagram ready in there and looks pretty, but it doesn’t serve functionality. Everything ends up on the floor in the rooms. They also charge per person now to use the gym and limit skatepark use to two persons. For a family of four and a dog, it’s $300 a night at the discounted summer rates. That’s nuts. Otherwise, the staff is very friendly and they have a lot going for them there. They just need to look hard at their business model. The hotel really only caters to one or two business travelers that are on the company dollar. It’s really not a good space for active, traveling groups, or families.

My first time trying an evo property and I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was very polite and helpful and the room was very comfortable and clean. I didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of the skatepark and climbing center, but really enjoyed watching the climbers for a short while. A nice change from the typical chain hotels.

We stayed here with our kids and unfortunately, there was a major safety issue. Our room had no window and no secondary exit, which is dangerous in case of a fire or emergency. The listing didn’t mention the lack of a window, and it wasn’t obvious from the photos. I’ve reported the issue to the Salt Lake City Fire Department. From a family perspective, the hotel also wasn’t very practical. The beds were stuck to the walls, which made the layout awkward and not very functional. The room itself was also dusty and didn’t feel very clean. There was no access to laundry, and the rooftop terrace shown in the listing is only accessible through the bar area, so kids aren’t allowed up. On the plus side, the free climbing gym was a great experience — definitely the highlight of our stay. Overall, though, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel because of the safety issue.

I stayed here for a wedding for a few days. The hotel itself was super cool, had a great energy and is a really nice concept. The stand out here is the staff. Mazi is a great receptionist and was a pleasure to interact with during my stay. She made my stay here a 10/10. The cafe was a great addition, so I did not have to leave for my morning coffee. The gym was well maintained. Amazing hotel!

There is no parking at the hotel, only on street parking. I had to park over a block away! They are under a remodel and very noisy during the day. It’s an old building but the rooms are nice but the hallways and handrails and other common areas are dusty. There is a large homeless population around the hotel so I was always concerned about safety!

we were there for summer family trip. the hotel was easy to find. the room was very clean. the hotel offers many amenities. my son rented a skateboard and skate at their indoor skate park. the best part of this hotel was thier bed setup. so comfortable.I had the best sleep . staff are friendly. I would def book again If we go to salt lake city again

We had a really nice room with vinyl records, a living room and a bedroom. The whole hotel has a cool vibe. But the shower had such low water pressure it felt like camping, which made it hard to wash. If you’re a light sleeper, good luck. Everything can be heard from the street and inside the hotel. At 2 AM, cars were doing donuts and drifting in the parking lot right outside and with no security, we just had to wait until they were done to get back to sleep. The staff could at least greet you when you walk in instead of just sitting and staring. And the parking? Terrible + definitely not a safe place to leave valuables in your car.

We loved this hotel. It was hip but not expensive, they gave great recommendations for eating, and it was just fun to walk around. Alongside the hotel there is an indoor 24-hour climbing wall (for members) and an indoor skateboard park. There was also a bar. But we just used the great café downstairs. Laptops welcome and free coffee for guests.

Yelp
I loved this hotel. As someone who travels solo for business, the worst hotels are the ones where you have to plot and plan to get the basics like a cup of coffee, and this had so much going for it. Again, keep in mind, this is business travel perspective, not a family trip: -Free black coffee that's actually really good. Major points for that alone. -A rooftop to relax, grab a drink, read a book, get work done, or catch a sunrise -A gym that you can boulder/rock climb, lift weights, do yoga classes. I got two bonus weight-training workouts in here and it's a great, no-frills gym area. Just weights, bars, and racks. Loved it for a "hotel gym" (it's technically it's own gym and space, just happens to be in the hotel) -An outdoor shop (Evo) and a skatepark attached (the only time I wondered if I might be too old to be here) -A cafe with nice breakfast options and more good coffee -Coworking spaces with good WiFi throughout the space -Water fountain and water bottle station by the room Location was a quick Uber to most things, but I certainly didn't feel like the surrounding area was walkable. It felt more like large busy roads made for traffic. I felt like I got to know the baristas and bartenders, emanating good vibes and welcoming energy. I actually *wanted* to be out and about, milling throughout this cool space. Now to keep it real, part of the reason I wanted to be out was of course all the good things I've mentioned, but also because I didn't love the room. It looked cool in pictures, but was cold, soulless, had wires hanging about from the TV and lamps like a college dorm. The bed was decent but I never slept great, and it felt sterile in there. The charging ports are far from the bed, and it felt almost hostel like. However, I'd overlook that and plan to stay here again in a heartbeat based on all the good things I mentioned.

Yelp
**With your stay, you get 2 free Day Passes to All Together Skatepark, 25% off Day Passes for Bouldering Project, 10% off at evo and L9, 35% off rentals at evo, and free Daily Drip coffee from the Curator's Cafe.** This hotel is located in the Granary district. As an out of state visitor, I'm not sure what that means but it's good to know. There's lots of industrial styled cafes, bars, restaurants, even photography studios nearby. It's also very close to the highway, which was one of the things that attracted us. It was also only a ten minute drive from the place we visited so that was another perk. Many reviews mentioned the lack of parking but we didn't find that to be an issue. Coming from California we're used to street parking in busy areas. When we arrived it was after 10pm. People were leaving and we had no problem getting parking almost directly in front of the hotel entrance. **They do ask for a $100 damage and incidentals deposit. If you don't have anything charged to your room and don't take the in room water, it is returned at checkout.** Check in time was 3pm but we called in advance to mention we'd be arriving late. They said it wasn't a problem. The check-in process was smooth and after asking a few questions, we borrowed the luggage cart and unloaded the car. I believe all of the rooms are on the second floor so we used the elevator. We passed an open lounge area where people were on their devices in comfy looking chairs and easily found our room. The plaque next to the door had our room number very large font and braille, which was cool. There was also mention of the artist that painted the art in our room. This was a pleasant surprise and appreciation of art, which we loved. The room itself had a really cool feature...the lights wouldn't come on until you placed your key card in the card holder. A great energy saving technique! The room was a good size. It fit two beds, a nightstand, a TV, landline phone, chair, coffee table and more. Unfortunately, our room did not have a microwave or refrigerator. (When I initially asked the front desk, on the phone prior to our arrival, they said some rooms had microwaves and fridges but not all). Not having a microwave was tough since we didn't plan on eating out the entire trip and brought a cooler. Fortunately the front desk told us about the community microwave next to the vending machine, which we used. Our cooler quickly thawed it's ice packs and prepackaged ice during our long drive from California. Unfortunately there was not an individual ice machine specifically for guests, but the front desk told me about requesting ice from the bar and the cafe, which we did. The bathroom and room was clean. There was also shampoo, conditioner and body wash available. Considering the amount of people using the connected bouldering gym, it was pretty quiet. Not loud or rowdy. We loved the decorations throughout the hotel and the photo booth downstairs near the check-in desk. Overall, it's a very chill place. We made the reservation through a third party website. The hotel is very community friendly, and definitely has a lot of activities for outdoors, which SLC is known for. Based on the pictures on Expedia, I knew I wanted to try the climbing wall but it was not free. I received a text regarding a 25% discount. Honestly, we were busy most of our trip and when we returned to the hotel we were too exhausted to do the activities. If you don't need a microwave or refrigerator in your room I'd say it's a good fit. Oh, they also have coolers available if you need one and they have bikes and equipment to rent. When it's busy in the bouldering gym it can smell pretty sweaty, so that was a little yuck. Also, there's no smoking allowed in the hotel but some people do smoke outside, in front of the hotel. Everyone was very kind. Thank you Mazi for checking us in. Thank you to the two girls who gave us ice and the guy who completed our checkout and gave us tokens for the photo booth. It was a nice visit.

Yelp
Loved this hotel and would stay here again, if it wasn't for unsafe parking. There's a sketchy gravel lot behind the hotel with very dim lighting. I did not feel safe parking there, nor walking around the block to get to the hotel entrance. I ended up parking illegally in the front of the hotel, choosing to potentially getting a ticket vs being unsafe. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Vibe was incredible. It's a hotel for athletes and adventurers. I respect establishments and management who respond to each Yelp review. The staff cares so much about customer experience! I'm hoping they figure out a better parking situation.

Yelp
One of the most unique hotels I've stayed at for sure! I'm not exactly their target demographic (super sporty outdoorsy types), but evo was a decent spot for me and my partner who were visiting for a music festival. - Full access to amenities onsite throughout your stay - Super courteous, helpful staff! - Gym with AMAZING rock climbing wall! And fitness classes and locker rooms and lots of workout equipment. - Have to mention the skate park inside and outside ofc - Stores onsite with ample outdoor necessities for purchase - Cozy lounge area on floor two. Just across from the upstairs bar as well - Cafe on ground floor with delicious coffee and smoothies - Cozy rooms with comfortable bed and clean bathroom, good quality toiletries NOTES - Room is VERY minimal. No fridge, no coffee machine, and only a shared microwave in the hallway. Only a bench, the nightstand, and a luggage rack - Not much space for possessions, only a hanger attached to the wall beams. No closet. There seems to be a locked storage unit outside each room for outdoor gear - Wall beams are D U S T Y. Unsure if it's just the material or housekeeping neglect, but it's not super clean. Not my favorite when these are some of the few surfaces to put your stuff! Everything else was clean though - If you're above 5'5", you'll definitely bump your head lol. The ceiling slopes down outward so you'll need to duck anytime you go around the bed - No space for makeup on the sink whatsoever. But I'm guessing their usual clientele probably don't really haul a ton of makeup lol - Terrible noise insulation. Our hallway was pretty quiet, but you can definitely hear the music blaring from the stores starting around 9 am. We were on the second floor. Maybe not a concern for those who are early risers, but definitely not great for anyone coming back late and looking to sleep in... They have a pair of earplugs on the nightstand for a reason I guess... - The shower is one of those half-wall setups... But the open side is next to the showerhead so water splashes everywhere. IDK what the intention was, maybe easier to rinse off your equipment? Kind of weird Very fairly priced-- I had a great deal through my work portal. Knowing the setup now, I still rate it high because it serves its audience well! Would like to come back during snow season instead :P

Yelp
Cool hotel, but no safe parking. You have to park on the street and my car got broken into while staying one night. I was parked adjacent to the hotel, across the street. Nothing valuable was visible. The young woman at the front desk was kind and helpful while I dealt with the cleanup- but upper management did not care whatsoever.

Yelp
Unfortunately my stay was not ideal and when I got my bill it was $89 more than the quoted price. It was mostly due to taxes however the hotel could calculate these taxes beforehand when giving the quote! That would be the honest way of doing business. My room was comfortable however one of the bedside tables was broken, chipped paint throughout, the door closer broke, and the shower leaked a ton onto the floor. The air conditioner made a weird noise 24/7. The bar was playing dubstep bad music super loud until 11, I could hear it even with ear plugs and the tv on. The hotel itself looks nice but there was a random guy passed out on the lobby couch the entire first day I was there and the neighborhood is somewhat sketchy and there's limited parking on the street so you have to walk through the sketchiness. When I asked to be refunded about 20% of the total amount I was originally quoted, I was just resent the same invoice again. The front desk was nice and accommodating, this review does not reflect them, however this wasn't experience I expected at the price point.

Yelp
This place is so cool! Easily the most unique hotel I've ever visited. With a bouldering gym, yoga classes, coffee shop, and indoor skate park and more, this place is anything but boring. My colleagues and I spent the day here bouldering, eating, and then working in the communal work space. It felt like we were all on vacation together. The staff was both friendly and helpful, the property was very clean, and the wifi was surprisingly strong. The concept of this place seems like a pipe dream and the owners have made it a reality. I will absolutely be back and I'll be bringing friends and family.

Yelp
One of the best hotels ever! Salt Lake City has a hidden gem in this hotel Firstly the facilities are great, sure the room might be smaller than some are used to, but the overall building makes it so you'll spend very little time in your room Secondly the staff!! I can't say enough nice things about the staff and how helpful and beyond accommodating they have been to me and the literal tour bus full of people I rolled in with Mack and Abby at the front desk and general help were beyond helpful Lexi at the cafe was great and kept us fed and properly caffeinated I will for sure be going back to this place anytime I'm in Salt Lake City

Cassidy L.

Yelp
The concept is great. The hotel has a skatepark, a little coffee shop, yoga, rock climbing, etc. it sounds good, but it's very deceiving. We never got to do any of that stuff because we stayed 2 nights, got in late, and one day was a Sunday and they had weird hours for the skatepark stuff, then we checked out Monday morning. My room was super dirty. 2 of the pillow cases had what looked like dried up blood spots on them. There was trash and random empty drink bottles between the bed and the shelf, the Kleenex box in the bathroom was full of used Kleenex, and the walls were so dusty and dirty you could literally see other peoples greasy finger prints on them. Again, we got in late from traveling between states so we didn't want to go ask to change rooms, our kid just wanted to rest. The rooms are very minimalist, which we knew from the start, but there is no mini fridge and then we were told the ice machine didn't work, so if we wanted ice we'd have to ask the guy at the bar... which is awkward. So, we just had to drink everything hot. Everything in the hotel echoes into your room. Someone in our hall had 2 very loud children and the mother would constantly scream at them for running down the hall and it would echo into our room at 7am. We basically got no sleep at all because of the constant noises echoing into our room from staff slamming doors and rude guests. Also, the front parking spaces should be reserved for hotel guests. They're not and always full. So, you have to park in the back parking lot and a homeless person has set up camp right outside of it and hollered at us every single time we had to go out to the car. It got to the point where we watched out our balcony for someone to leave the front so we could get the spot to avoid going out back. Overall, would not recommend. We spent 450$ for 2 nights of misery.

Yelp
Evo Hotel is shaping the future of travel accommodations. The good: Creative concept, great value, and lots of amenities. Don't forget to sign up to one of the free yoga classes or lounge in many communal areas. The rooms, some lacking proper windows, have high ceilings and thoughtfully designed with everything you need without all the extra fuss. Room for improvement: The inclusive messaging throughout the property ensure all feel welcomed, however Customer Service could use some polishing. For example, upon check out and as a courtesy I advised the front desk agent that I'm checking out and at most accommodations, it's usually followed up with a "Thank you for staying with us" instead of a "you can just leave it there." Last time I checked, this was still a place of business, not a frat house? Verdict: A must consider when visiting Salt Lake City, if parking and lax customer service is not an issue.

Yelp
This hotel is great! I'd highly recommend it. The gym is big, we're talking like a full-blown CrossFit gym set up, the rock climbing facility is massive, the staff is nice, the rooms are clean and comfortable. I travel for work and this place is significantly better than a typical big hotel chain, for the same price.

Susie B.

Yelp
staff at the front desk was incredibly helpful , polite and thoughtful. On top of that, it was a really unique stay with opportunities to rock climb , skateboard and play cornhole! Definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a unique experience at a hotel stay. Great staff!

Yelp
Super fun place to stay in Salt Lake, especially if you like to climb. Delicious drip coffee in the morning. Great restaurant around the corner.
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
Unique space with great energy and friendly staff. Love my cozy Wasatch Room. Crown Bar makes yummy drinks!

Melissa R.

Yelp
The rooms are so misleading in the pictures. I would probably give this hotel one star if it wasn't for how nice the staff was and being dog friendly. The pictures make the hotel room look rather large...NOPE, I think even Thumbelina would be uncomfortable. I cannot say how many times we hit our heads on the rafters. So if you stay and are over 5'2 bring a helmet. There is no closet. Oh but you get a hair dryer. No TV, no where to even place your iPad if you want to pretend to watch something. It's a great concept . Just not meant for people with high hotel standards.
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
Really amazing property and collaboration with a top notch Evo store and incredible climbing gym. One big complaint though is that everything is perfect but I'm disappointed every time by how lukewarm the sauna is. Attached is a photo of the sauna thermometer from another Bouldering Project. 50deg warmer! Will immediately update my review to 5 stars if the sauna temp gets a boost to more normal levels!
google avatar

Jasiel B.

Yelp
Very cool concept. we're on a road trip from Austin and surprised to find bouldering project to stay in for a night. Place was a vibe. It felt more like an indoor treehouse type thing and downstairs is the climbing walls, gym and some dope outdoor wear stores. Cornhole in the common area was a fantastic touch. Nothing like sinking a jayzer one time.
google avatar

Peter K.

Yelp
I stay in a hotel 100 days out of the year and this place is so refreshing compared to a Kimpton or Hyatt. I am on the road a lot and it is great to have a full bouldering setup and gym to get exercise in. There is no reason to stay in a room except to sleep because there is a lot to do within walking distance. The neighborhood may not be for all, but no one broke into my fancy rental car. You are immediately greeted by the friendly hotel front desk. The rest of the staff is as friendly and welcoming. Breakfast comes out fast and is tasty for hotel cafe food. Coffee is a bit on the acidic side. Rooftop bar has good options and very comfortable to do some work. Walking distance from some nice bars and restaurants. I cannot wait to come back.
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
This is a hotel/skateboard area/bouldering gym/yoga gym complex in a very cool renovated old brick building. Honestly, it was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The room is dark and concrete with no window, and it's like being in a jail cell. The double bed is pushed against a wall, making it tough for more than one person to get in and out. The reviewer that said there are zero amenities is correct. No ice, no fridge, no microwave, not even a decent sized trash can. There is a rooftop bar with a few tables but small and uninviting. You get free passes for bouldering with your room and the the bouldering desk people seemed completely perplexed by our visit. The demographic here skews early 20's hipster. If you don't fit this - stay elsewhere. You will be glad.
google avatar

Henry Y.

Yelp
loved this place. it's on the fringe of town in a historic building with a great industrial aesthetic. we didnt get a room with any view other than the rear parking lot but we were steps to overlooking the bouldering gym which was very cool. not very crowded when we were there. also tried the skateboarding. its a bit of a walk to the core of downtown but we walked all around. there's no onsite restaurant but there is a pizza place and a food hall very close by. the rooms themselves were pretty spartan and is set up to support people coming into town for skiing too. definitely geared for young people but as an older person I appreciated it.
google avatar

Justine M.

Yelp
I stopped by the hotel to check out if it was WFH friendly and it is! They have such a neat, welcoming set up for people to work from. Very friendly staff. I would recommend anyone staying at this hotel, especially if you live an active, fit lifestyle.

Yelp
Mazi was truly wonderful at the Crown Bar. Great place, great location! would highly recommend for climbers and skiers.

Yelp
This hotel was so amazing!! They have an indoor skate park, indoor rock climbing, bar, yoga classes, indoor gym, shopping store and so much fun activities. The BEST hotel I have ever been too. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is run by the outdoor brand evo, and we wanted to check it out during our visit to SLC. Space is modern, and there's been a lot of attention to detail across the different interior. There are different areas in the hotel, including indoor climbing, top floor bar, a cafe, indoor skate park, and a evo shop. All of these made the space feel special and on-point with the intended theme. I stayed at a king sized bedroom - It was clean, not too big nor too small, and simple. It was a pleasant stay overall.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
The concept for this hotel inside of this beautiful adaptive reuse building in the Granary District of Salt Lake City, UT is incredible. The hotel rooms are upstairs while downstairs there are currently multiple outdoor retailers, a coffee shop/bar, a massive and beautiful new bouldering gym with incredible training facilities, and in the coming months there will also be a restaurant, a full bar, and more. The space is really thoughtfully detailed and the art throughout the full building is gorgeous. There are definitely still elements of the building under construction and consideration so make sure and understand what you are getting into before staying here to effectively manage expectations, but this really is a one-of-kind hotel and is bound to impress as it all comes together by summer 2022!

Yelp
This is a interesting place and I'm still unsure how I feel about it. I give them some leniency as they just opened in January. Rooms are fine but the "private patio" leaves much to be desired, slotted fence separate patios hardly offer privacy. The view is mostly a rusty slab of metal blocking out the district that it's in which I would use the word dilapidated to describe. They're very much attempting to appeal to a specific crowd of people which is a nice change however creates a atmosphere that not everyone would feel comfortable in. Rooms are very minimalist in design with some quirky built ins like skateboard holders and a cute little Marshall Bluetooth speaker as well as a slot for a card to keep the power on (eco friendly or minimizing their overhead?) as well as stainless steel cups instead of paper which I did enjoy. Rooms do not have a fridge nor a microwave or coffee pot so if you're looking for typical room commodities you will be disappointed and just as it happens their ice machine was under maintenance and their bar wasn't operational as they haven't obtained their liquor license yet but will be awesome when it's opened, The common room downstairs does offer fun entertainment like a photo booth and a guitar and some enjoyable books. All in all this place is new and still figuring out their thing and I'm sure in the future it'll be a fine place to stay. That being said I don't think it was worth the amount per night while lacking on so many accommodations. **edit** Upon further review the owner is correct and that was my failed memory regarding the bar showing as an amenity. Apologies

Sean S.

Yelp
Walking into the hotel the surrounding area looks sketchy. Homeless camp across the street and it is tucked away on a side street. I would not consider this a downtown hotel. That being said you walk in the hotel and wow super cool place. Young and friendly staff, rock climbing wall, outdoor sports store, skate ramps, coffee bar and more. The moment you walk upstairs is when you wish you didn't agree to stay at this hotel. Long narrow walk way with three wood steps down to each room. If you rent a room with a queen it is awful - concrete floors, exposed wood ( not cool exposed wood), plumbing pipes, a slanted ceiling (you cannot stand up in one side of the room if you are over 6' tall), no dresser, no closet, no fridge, no tv, no windows. It is what I imagine a minimum security prison would be like, or a place in the woods where you have a recluse of an uncle willing to let you hide from the law. You get one metal rod to hang clothes on and a metal tray with ice bucket balancing on a thin wooden beam. Imagine if you were 12 and you wanted to move upstairs to the unfinished attic in your parent's house. You grab your bed, one lamp, an extension cord, an arm full of clothes and a couple posters and nail them to the wall. That's the room. In addition, there was 24 hour construction so it sounded like a vacuum was running in my bed the entire night. They provided orange ear plugs when I checked in and said sorry it might be a little loud. I didn't know they did 24 hour construction. In the middle of the night I considered sleeping in my rental car, jamming the metal stake they have for your clothes in my ear or walking over to the homeless camp. NEVER AGAIN. This place is not for families or business travelers. I think it is for people who like to chill, skate and climb and that is great but I will never criticize a Hampton Inn again.

Dan R.

Yelp
This place is super cool. There are so many modes of entertainment and services that are far beyond the regular hotel. The way that they have converted an old warehouse space into a multifaceted hotel restaurant sports facility is really inspiring. It's a place where you can leave your room and hang out public spaces.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
What a shockingly amazing concept! They converted what looks like an old factory into a really eclectic sports oriented hotel! This place has indoor skate parks multiple lounges on every floor in the 1980s "Brazil movie" type of an interior design motif. How cool! I just happened upon this place because I was too tired to drive all the way home from Idaho Falls and this place had a great rate and was right off of 15! It's hard to even tell it's a Hotel but once you get inside not only is the ambience cool but the staff is really cool and helpful! Here's a pic of the skate park behind the front desk. Found out it was a granary.

Yelp
This place is great... for the rock climbing and yoga! BUT NOT FOR A HOTEL if you even want to call it that. The rooms were like dungeons, no amenities whatsoever! If you are 5'2 and below you can barely stand up... anything above that DO NOT RESERVE HERE! We had reservations way in advanced and the room we selected was nothing like the room they placed us in. The pictures on the website are deceitful and wrong. We did come on a very busy weekend so they could not accommodate for their lack of dishonesty since all rooms were taken. All in all the only I give it 1 star because of the cute coffee bar downstairs. But this is not a hotel.
google avatar

Heidi W.

Yelp
I would not stay at this hotel again. While the rooms are stylish, they are very bare bones - I did not have a lamp next to my bed and there was no hook outside the shower for a towel nor space in the bathroom for toiletries. Housekeeping does not come unless you put a sign outside your door, and when they do come, they do not make the bed, refresh toiletries, or do any cleaning - they only drop off new towels. Air conditioning is loud and hard to work. Some rooms don't have windows at all. Room was very loud both from inside noise and outside vehicles. If you're 20-something maybe you would feel comfortable here but I did not - and I booked the suite. I gave 1 star for cool concept and decor, and 1 for kind service, but the rest of this hotel completely missed the mark for me.

Yelp
Such a cool hotel! Loved our room. It had many personal touches. It's so unique, has such cute decor with fun colors, skate park, wall climbing, gym, coffee stand, lots of room to lounge, study, work on couches and cute pillows around the hotel. Two stores I didn't go in and not sure what they are. Beds were comfy and we had a good overall stay! In our room the shower didn't give out enough water to keep you warm. It was on the hottest temp and I was still cold. It's almost like the shower needs to be enclosed with a bigger shower head ?? You also can hear everything under the sun that's going on outside. Cars, thunder & lightning was SO loud at night and all the random noises. I would like to add a video of the noises we woke up to this morning but I'm not able to add. No Tv which was fine because we don't watch tv. Just Netflix and few other streaming options. Like other said, no fridge, coffee pot, or breakfast. We had to walk past the gym to get to & from our room and I'm not a fan of the smell. Also, the power went out the morning we were leaving which was a bummer but was able todo what we needed. Cool feature of the rooms Is that for the power to work you have to put your room card in a card slot by the door to turn it on! You also don't lose your card :)

Yelp
Worst hotel I stayed in. Woken up by terrible noise at 6am and it continues for 40min now. Rooms are super weird. It looks like a hotel is a side business here in addition to other outfits Stay away!

Yelp
Great spot with easy access to the city and the mountains. If you want a place with great rooms, soul and lots to do this is your spot. If you want to sweat you can skate or boulder. If you want to shop, two great out door retailers, with more coming, in the building.

Yelp
Such an awesome experience!!! evo for the win again! The room was well equipped with all the things needed for adventuring. The retail store is on site for all the things we forgot and the friendly staff made us feel like we we're staying with friends. An ideal way to travel. High fives!

Yelp
So after what I thought was a great stay the next day after checking out I realized that I had left a sizeable amount of sports memorabilia behind. My gf called the hotel around 8pm the next day and was told the room hadn't even been cleaned. Long story short this all went down hill quickly after being told they were gone they were thrown away and that a small hotel with maybe 30 rooms within 24 hours with one cleaning woman couldn't track down a box with a bag that was not only too heavy to be just thrown away carelessly but shown to them in a room photo where it was. No sense of urgency no accountability and this was after spending $300 for a suite room on a Sunday probably the only suite booked. Also the rooms are noisy should've realized when there's complimentary ear plugs. Also there are homeless camps surrounding what I'd venture to say is a high crime area. Hey what do you know maybe inside as well. Unfortunately I'll never stay here again what lack of hospitality, customer service, and utter lack of attention and resolution to a simple matter by hotel management Max. Thanks guys for reminding me that my money is better spent elsewhere.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It has everything an adventurist could ever want. An indoor skatepark, rock climbing, yoga, ski shops! And the finest little bar and lounge I've ever seen. The bartenders are so fun and the Cafe downstairs serves Publik coffee and serve up some amazing espresso to start your day. I live in the city and would still stay here for a little staycation. AND ITS DOG FRIENDLY! This is the only hotel I'll recommend for someone visiting SLC

Yelp
I asked the front desk receptionist, Kennedy, for an extra two ice chest because the ice chest inside the rooms are very small and are unable to hold much drinks when you put ice in the chest. Kennedy went above and beyond for my buddies and I and found a yeti cooler for us. I wanted to say thank you Kennedy for making our stay more enjoyable.

Yelp
The concept of the hotel is so cool and all of the staff were very nice. They're dog friendly which is awesome, and even printed out a list of pet friendly restaurants for me and my pup. Everything looks super cool and is very aesthetically designed which is sick. BUT the hotel has a roach infestation. I stayed in the rafters and when I got to my room I noticed a few dead roaches hanging out in the doorway and around the halls. Then, at around 11 PM I woke up to several roaches in my room. I didn't end up staying at the hotel, and was able to get a refund but it was still unfortunate because the hotel had so much else going for it. Hygiene is really important to me when it comes to a hotel, so this was a pretty big red flag.

Yelp
1) skatepark music is too loud. I can hear it in my room. I'm on vacation for peace...not to hear bass music disrupt my hotel room while I'm relaxing. 2) no tv. Really? 3) elevator doesn't work. 4) again, if you want a relaxing time. You won't get it here. Skatepark music bass kills the room experience.

Yelp
This place is pretty sick. Definitely targeting the hip/active customer. The built in skatepark is the icing on the cake. Really cool decor, furniture, retail store and overall vibe. They are still finishing the full build out, but this is for sure the new go-to spot to stay/shred in SLC.

Yelp
This was such a great experience and the people were absolutely inviting. It was my friends birthday and he was treated so well-we both were. The girls in the lounge/bar was so hospitable and then we had the same girl serve us coffee the next morning. I highly recommend the Bourbon Old Fashioned! The cherries were the absolute best! Thank you for adding to our stay friends at EVO! It was awesome!
