Exeter Bakery

Good old fashioned country bakery. Very wide variety of sweet options, but a little limited on the savouries. Very generous serving of custard in the custard tart. Indoor seating was ok, not particularly spacious or clean.

On holiday in Launceston from overseas and this is our daily go-to. Great coffee (love that you can have this in a mug) and very friendly staff. Super warm space, with a cosy fireplace. But the bakery delights are what makes this so worthwhile! Loved the pretty lemon meringue tart, the berry and custard muffin, and the bacon and egg croissant.

I have been coming here for more than 50 years. I no longer live in Tasmania but whenever I return a drive to the Exeter Bakery on the west tamar is a must. The quality of the savoury and sweet pies is magnificent and hasn’t changed over the years. The place is always busy and the staff are friendly and helpful. A warm and cosy place for lunch on a cold snd blustery day

We were visiting Tasmania and this bakery was so convenient for us as we could walk over for breakfast from our holiday stay. The staff were very patient and nice. There were so many varieties of bakes so we got several types to share. Sharing good food with family in a cosy bakery is definitely the way to start the day.

The best coffee in the area, hands down. Wonderful service, they always make you feel welcome. And then there's the food! Best bakery ever. Loads of options including great choices for vegetarians and vegans.

Do yourself a favour and go to this bakery! Everything we had was delicious! The cheese and bacon toast the next day for brekky was awesome! Reasonably priced and friendly staff!

Awesome Stop for a Pie. We walked in and saw all these beautiful desserts and started looking at the menu on the wall. We didn't see any meat pies but oh, we were totally wrong. The savory pies were in the huge warming oven and Almost empty! There were a few of each left..we were in luck. We ordered the Curry Chicken Pie and the Beef & Pepper Pie and a sweet Mixed Berry Pie. And yes, we shared as we always do...more tastes for small appetites. We agreed the Beef & Pepper was the best. The pepper just made that beef pop. It was great the chicken curry was very good but not that pepper one! The crust was outstanding on each pie. The mixed berry pie was outstanding. Perfectly made with a tad more berry than pastry. And it was not too sweet. It was huge. We had left overs for breakfast the next morning. And it held up very well. Highly recommend. Worth the drive. Will return reasonably priced.

Like all these little villages there is usually one great local bakery with pies and cakes. This is just another one but very friendly service. Great choice as usual. Clean and great coffee. Recommended
