"Somewhat hidden behind a popular burger spot, Exeter is an inconspicuous property that blooms into a textbook example of how cozy Scandinavian interiors can be. Its location in the Old Harbor is within walking distance of the downtown shops, restaurants, and bars, but offers a quieter place to retreat to at night. The rooms are outfitted in the same earthy tones as the rest of the property, with leather accents and spacious beds. One standout: The Harbour Suite is situated within sight of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and the view is well worth it. Two of Reykjavik’s most popular spaces share a roof with Exeter. Prepare for a line out the door every morning as locals and visitors head to Deig, a go-to for breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts. The same area is shared with Le Kock, a burger joint with a delicious take on french fries. Booking through the property’s website will get you the best deal, especially if you plan on staying multiple nights."

We had a great experience at the Exeter. It's located within walking distance to several things. The front desk was very helpful & Alena was so hospitable throughout our stay. We had some unfortunate travel disruptions and had to extend our stay another night, she was very accommodating and kind throughout the process.||The restaurants were both very approachable and delicious (the Constanza from Deig is a must). Bar staff was nice as well. There was a nice little glass enclosure in their courtyard that was lit and heated, which made for a great cozy spot for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap.

Perfect location, close walk to the city centre but just out enough to not hear all the commotion of the busy town. Staff were extremely lovely and helpful in every way they could be! The Heig bakery is also a massive bonus of this hotel with its delicious donuts and bagels - will for sure be staying here again when we come back!

Excellent hotel, very stylish room which was clean with lovely views over the harbour. Good location, friendly reception staff, we were able to check in a little earlier which was really helpful. The cafe attached to the hotel is brilliant too, really relaxed atmosphere. Thanks for a great stay 🙏

We stayed at the Exeter hotel during our 6 day trip to Iceland. We spent a total of 3 nights at the Exeter hotel, split up by a 2 night stay in the coastal town of Vík. ||The rooms in the Exeter hotel are perfect. They are really stylish, well furnished, clean and contain all the amenities you would need. ||There is also a fabulous restaurant which serves amazing bagel sandwiches and pastries in the morning at breakfast.||Our stay was made all that more hospitable by the staff at the hotel. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, but Yousef and Alena really stood out. They were really polite and happy to have a conversation with us asking about our trip so far and how we found the sights we had visited around Reykjavík and Iceland. Yousef went the extra mile and gave us a free upgrade to a Deluxe Double room for our final nights stay in Reykjavik. I would 100% recommend staying here for your trip to Reykjavik as it is absolute value for money. ||Would definitely stay here again! ||10/10!!!

Everything about this hotel was perfect for our stay. The location is fantastic and everything is within walking distance. The staff are all very friendly and gave us some wonderful recommendations on where to stop throughout our trip. The rooms were great and we had everything we could need. I highly recommend the restaurant and donut shop downstairs too. Everything we tried was delicious. I cannot recommend the Exeter Hotel enough!!

Top quality hotel, staff were really nice, cool vibe. Breakfast was great. Our room faced the harbour and the road noise didn’t wake us up - not sure why some people are being sp dramatic about that. Would definitely stay again.
