I and my husband stayed in Exeter Hotel Reykjavik from Aug 17 to 21, 2025. The hotel is located near the seaside and close to many tourist interested activities. The famous hotdog booth is just a few minutes away and the fish and chips sold by the restaurant nextdoor is so delicious!
Our room was in the old building but it is not as old as we imagined. It has somewhat a simple style of living which is preferred in Northern Europe.
The buffet breakfast has enough variety to choose, the place is comfortable, the atmosphere is warm and the staff is nice.
Due to the strick of the Air Canadian flight attendants, we were stranded in Reykjavik. After buying our own tickets from other company, we had to leave the tour group and go on our own. The hotel reception staff was so helpful and nice, and told us to keep our luggage in their lockers before we left in the evening. As the road was temporarily closed for some events, we had to go to the other street to take the flybus. We showed our worry but the receptionist, Ana, showed us patiently the way of the temporary bus stop. She even sent our cellphone no. to the bus driver to make sure he can find us near the stop. We are so grateful to meet so many nice people in Iceland and this is one of the reasons that we'll be back again someday.
