Yelp
This was my absolute favorite ride in Animal Kingdom! Although, I have to warn you. That very first climb is very high & steep. You may not want to look down if you're afraid of heights. Haha! It was a very chilly morning after a cold front. What does that mean? Well, it means that you may not want this in your rope drop strategy as your first choice on a very cold morning. It needs multiple test rides without passengers just to be safe. It didn't even open until just before our 8am-ish time slot, with early entry at 7:30am that day. We were aboard our Expedition vehicle in no time. I didn't really have enough time to worry about motion and height. What I will say is that it gave me GOTG: Cosmic Rewind vibes during the backwards ride on the way down. It was the sudden bumpy twists and turns that made me realize it was different. It's not a smooth ride at all. Lol! I quickly laid my head back on the headrest to prevent any jerking motions, and watched as everything passed by so quickly. My husband didn't seem to love that part. I heard him say, "Thiiiiis Suuucks" on the way down. I'm pretty sure that I saw the Yeti twice. It was one time on a screen in a dark part of the mountain. Then, a second time above us. He's looking down at us before leaving the mountain. He looked monstrous at that point. Maybe not as scary as it once was when it was moving (it doesn't appear to move anymore), but it's fun to look for him. The Yeti sightings are real on this ride. I would most definitely ride this one again. It's Lightning Lane worthy in my opinion. It's not just a roller coaster ride. It has a story, and some very cool elements. You'll see that as you make your way into the mountain range. A must when you're visiting Animal Kingdom.

Yelp
OMG! One of my FAVORITE ride in my FAVORITE kingdoms at DisneyWorld. I honestly will get park hopper JUST to go to Animal Kingdom, for this ride! A couple years ago, I was going to Disney, twice a year, for all star cheerleading and we had to get park hopper passes for entrance & I HIGHLY recommend! That & getting the fast pass (now known as "lightning pass"). Like the other kingdoms are definitely cool, funky, & fun BUT nothing beats Animal Kingdom, for me. The wait for this ride typically is a bit long... WORTH IT though. I always have to hit this ride whenever I go to DisneyWorld in Orlando!

Yelp
Expedition Everest, mate, it's a wild ride that'll get your heart pounding faster than a herd of stampeding yaks. From the moment you step into the Tibetan village at the foot of Mount Everest, you know you're in for an adventure of a lifetime. But watch out, because lurking in the shadows of the mighty mountain is a legendary snow monster rumored to send chills down even the bravest explorer's spine. Once aboard the train, you're in for a hair-raising journey to the "top of the world." Hold onto your hats as you ascend steep slopes, reaching speeds of up to 50 mph. And just when you think you've conquered the summit, brace yourself for a plunge into darkness as the track takes a twisted turn, throwing you into a thrilling backwards descent. But the real kicker? That yeti, mate. With glowing eyes and ferocious snarls, it's enough to make even the most seasoned adventurer break out in a cold sweat. With plenty of dark moments and unexpected twists, Expedition Everest is not for the faint of heart. So if you're ready to face your fears and embark on the ultimate mountain expedition, strap in tight and prepare for the ride of a lifetime. Just remember, once you've conquered Everest, no other thrill will ever quite measure up.

Yelp
It is a great ride, but perhaps too extreme for seniors. The last steep drop is scary. All in all an outstanding roller coaster. Highly recommended.

Yelp
BEST, MOST EXCITING roller coaster ride at Animal Kingdom! It's a MUST ride while at the park ! They run 4 or 5 cars at a time, so the line moves quickly!! Fun, FAST, Dark, forward and BACKWARDS!! It's a BLAST!!

Courtenay O.

Yelp
This ride is fast and fun. We have been on it about 5 times, and we will keep going on it when the line says 30 minutes or less. Today it said 25 minutes, but for some reason, it stopped running when we were almost at the line to get on. No explanation & no rain in sight. So lack of communication and long lines make this a 4 star ride. If you haven't been on it, and you like roller coasters, put this on your list. You enter at the station, two by two. The bag for your stuff is small. I put my back pack under my legs, and our hats in the pocket. We rode up and over small tracks, outside, in the sunshine, until we got to the end of the line. Wham! We were suddenly going backward, in the dark, at a high speed, up, down and all around. Bam! We stopped to see the Yeti ripping up the track. We caught our breaths. It was quiet. Nothing was moving. WOW! We were moving again, and it seems faster, with more twists, turns, high up and low. And then ... it stops. And we gently rolled back into the station to disembark. Love this ride!!

Yelp
Expedition Everest is located in Disney World's Animal Kingdom. You can't miss it because of the huge Mt. Everest prop towering over. The drop was very steep and it even went backward too. This ride looked cool and was a super cool rollercoaster ride too.

Britney M.

Yelp
This rollercoaster is esthetically pleasing. There's something about those mountains, and the snow, that are... enticing... and lure you in. I was so distracted by its massiveness and beauty that I didn't even think about the fact that it is a rollercoaster ride. And I don't like roller coasters lol Usually I will research coasters beforehand to see if they go upside down, have any twists, etc. I was tricked by the beauty of this Everest Expedition. Little did I know, I was about to almost poop my pants on the sudden backwards drop. lol This ride was pretty scary for me, but again- I don't like roller coasters. There was a photo that was taken during the ride; but you BEST believe, I made sure no one will ever lay eyes on that photo again lolol

Hank C.

Yelp
Fun roller coaster, probably best and only other ride you really need to do after the soaring Avatar Flight of Passage ride here - highest but not the craziest initial drops, easy to keep your pack inside the coaster, and you have a mini story around the yeti and you'll go up, down, around, and also backward at one point! A lot of fun, my little one loved it and wanted to go again. There's a single rider line that can get you through if you don't mind breaking up the party. Or get the Genie+ and you can get through in five minutes! Line isn't too bad later in the day (as most people hop to another location, there aren't fireworks at night in this park).

Danielle V.

Yelp
Amazing roller coaster ride in Animal Kingdom! You go backwards and it goes pretty fast. It's a fun roller coaster and you have to try it while you are in Animal Kingdom!

Anthony F.

Yelp
This is an underrated attraction. It's a rollercoaster that goes forward then back then forward again. It's a nice suspense thriller and the themes are great. Usually the lines r short so u get much better value. Would recommend for sure. Im not giving them 5 stars only because of the new method of virtual queue and lightning bs. Disney if u want money then charge it elsewhere. This new method is total garbage compared to fast pass of old. This is my 4th time and might be my last depending on how the rest of my trip goes.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
What a fun ride! It's roller coaster plus theatrical effects and nice wait in line decor aesthetics theme going on! Epic during the ride and thrilling! Souvenir catchphrases at the shop were: Are you Yeti for it? Are you Yeti for anything? Y'all Yeti for this?

Emily L.

Yelp
SPOILER ALERT This ride is insane!!! Ik there's something similar at disneyland which I've been on before but can't quite remember how it went. I like this one more. There's a backward drop and it's in the dark for a bit then back outside. The whole ride was so fast I couldn't see much BUT hubby and I re-rode it like 4 times that's how much we liked it. Definitely a thrill ride!!! 10/10!!!

Yelp
Expedition Everest is a Disney animal Kingdom roller coaster and thrill ride that is located towards the back of the park and features a beautiful snow mountain scene for the ride and coaster track. The coaster which is one of the very few roller coasters across the Disney parks is a yeti themed ride. Not based off any movies or shows (be cute to do the snow monster from monsters inc maybe if they decide to commercialize it more) but is still I'd say one of the my kids top 5 rides across all 4 Disney parks. The height requirement is not that tall for a roller coaster which means it has been a few of my kids first ever roller coaster experience and it is a fun one. You ride through the track of the beautiful snow mountain theme and encounter the yeti through caves and eventually a broken track! The. The coaster hits reverse and the thrills really begin. Overall a very fun and popular ride that tells a cute and fun story while riding it. Also while being very popular the wait lines are never too crazy. Maybe 45 min at its peak on most our visits but you can time it right and have less then 10 minutes throughout the day.

Megan L.

Yelp
This is one of the best roller coasters I have ever been on! It's big so I was a little afraid at first but after going on it once I haven't been afraid since. It's so thrilling and fun! It's fast, it goes backwards, it goes in the dark, down big hills and takes your picture. It's so awesome!

Erik P.

Yelp
Always good to hit up the old school railroad roller-coaster ride at the parks. The ride is super fun specially since you have a lot of dark areas to make it scary and the ride goes backwards. Good decent speed on the ride with all the thrills. Lines - I waited in the single rider line and it probably took me about 15 minutes to get on. Staff - They get kinda lost on the boarding process as it could easily be faster moving if they had it down and loaded all the trains fast enough. Overall cool tide and worth going on.

John D.

Yelp
Looking for the yeti? You might begin here. A quick trip through the Himalayas on a rickety railroad leads you on the path. But it seems that he is an angry legend - tearing up tracks and chasing train fulls away. With the decor it give the appearance of traveling to Nepal to begin your search. A fairly well thought out ride complete with symbols and decorations that one might encounter. The ride is enjoyable with a couple of unexpected turns. One of just a handful of thrill rides in AK worth the wait to experience at least once.

Katy C.

Yelp
Expedition Everest has always been my favorite ride in Animal Kingdom until now (helloooo, Flight of Passage). However, it's still very fun and exciting and I'm so glad I got to introduce my boyfriend to this wild mountain ride! The coaster is full of fun surprises and *spoiler alert* going backwards is such a unique experience. They have a single rider line which I totally recommend; we walked right on through that line after we did our FastPass ride. Expedition Everest is more thrilling than Big Thunder but less so than Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Be sure to check out the advertising posters in line - you may find your name being featured as a yeti trek guide! The theming throughout the queue line is really cool and very detailed, there is definitely a lot to look at while you wait. I love this ride and look forward to it on every visit to Disney!

Lara T.

Yelp
Great roller coaster at Disney's animal kingdom. As you move through the line for the roller coaster it's pretty awesome they have it set up like a museum with very interesting facts and artifacts throughout about Mount Everest and the Yeti. The ride itself is a lot of fun with twists, turns and surprises. The line is often long because this is the only roller coaster at this park.

Monique W.

Yelp
This ride is by far one of the best rides at Disney World! If you're big into roller coasters, this ride is for you! Expedition Everest is located in Animal Kingdom. It's themed as a Nepal explorer, Mount Everest, and Yeti. The stand-by allows you to walk-through the themed area of Expedition Everest. There is a height restriction to ride Everest. It's a two-seat rider. It has a storage unit where you can store items on the ride and consists of a single lap bar. There was barely any wait time when we visited Animal Kingdom for Expedition Everest. Approximately a 5-10 minute wait. My daughter and I rode it about 4 times in a row! The roller coaster takes you through-out Everest. It's a inside and outside roller-coaster. Towards the top of the ride, you can overlook the theme park and see other areas of Disney World, such as Epcot! Part of the ride goes backwards. During the mid-point of the ride, the track switches and you're moving forward again. Towards the end, there is a large Yeti in the dark with bright lights! It's a super fun, thrill ride! It's smooth and fast. The ride has a different feel based on where you're sitting!

Yelp
BEST ROLLERCOASTER IN DISNEY WORLD!!! This is pre Tron so I don't know about that yet, but this is totally the best roller-coaster Disney World has to offer. Expedition Everest is located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. This is one of the few thrill rides in Disney World, so this makes the ride stand out, and a must do every visit! Ride: There is actually a lot to say about this ride. This ride at one time was the most expensive roller-coaster ever created. The top of the mountain is taller than Cinderella's castle at Magic Kingdom. There is a basketball court inside the mountain for cast members to use. Most of the items throughout the ride queue are real items found from Everest and Asia. I guess I'm just trying to say that this roller-coaster is impressive. The whole ride really takes you to a new world. Seeing the massive mountain is breathtaking and really makes you excited for the ride as you hear the screams from other ride passengers. As you listen to the other people having a blast you get to walk through a really detailed exhibit on the Yeti that lives in the Everest caves. There is real hiking gear from there, plus real artifacts found on Everest. There are also a bunch of clues to the Yeti that you need to watch out for. This ride does a great job really pulling you into believing you are about to go on a voyage unto another land in such of the dangerous Yeti. Experience: This is by far the biggest thrill Disney World has to offer currently. This ride isn't for everyone and has multiple warnings and a height restriction. There is good reason to cause this is not a ride you expect to be at Disney World with all of the other dark rides they have to offer. To start you go up a slow track up the side of the mountain that towers over everything. Once you reach the top you find out that the elusive Yeti has destroyed your tracks. With no where to go your whole ride flies backwards down the mountain! This is where the rode kicks into gear. It is such a big drop and you do not expect it to be that far and that fast going backwards. After that you get launched into the rest of the ride. There are a ton of ups and downs, twist and turns, and all around an amazing time! The whole ride comes to an end by you narrowing escaping the Yeti as it tries to grab you! This is one ride you need to try if you are looking for a thrill! Overall: Expedition Everest is a truly unique roller-coaster that is something only Disney could offer. It's themed perfectly and is the best roller-coaster I have ever been on. There is so much to look at and experience that you can go on it multiple times and never get bored. A couple tips for you: - You can ask to sit in the front. You get to view the tracks better but the fall backwards isn't as fun. - You can ask to sit in the back and the fall backwards is the strongest from here. -there is a single rider line if you want to just jump on but the purposely split people up if you try to act like you're not together. -Definitely check out the Yak and Yeti restaurant afterwards for some great food and to keep the experience going.

Jonathan Z.

Yelp
Expedition Everest is a great ride option at the Animal Kingdom. It is well themed throughout the ride experience. There is plenty of items in cases to read and look at which makes the wait time go by faster. I was able to ride it two times in a 20 minute span. The less you know about the ride the better! I didn't know about the surprise reverse. Going backwards from bright outside to pitch black inside the mountain was great! The second time around gave me more time to see the details. I would definitely recommend this to anyone over the minimum ride height.

Vincent C.

Yelp
THIS IS THE BEST RIDE AT DISNEY. The wait time is relatively short, and the coaster and theming are top notch (fun fact: this coaster held the title for the most expensive coaster until 2019). Upon entering, you are treated to exquisite detail that really makes you feel like you're in a genuine Himalayan hut. What really makes this ride unique is the middle section, where your train goes through the mountain in reverse. Overall, the ride is thrilling but not intense; it is definitely a ride that the entire family can enjoy. My only minor disappointment is that the ride broke down on our third ride. We were already seated in the train, but fortunately, we had not left the station.

Steff A.

Yelp
Expedition Everest is a fun Nepal explorer, Mount Everest and Yeti themed roller coaster in animal kingdom. I thought it would be similar to the matterhorn, but it's definitely it's own type of coaster You take a couple of small descents and loops until you're eventually heading up the main hill and it's pretty steep on the ride versus looking at it from afar. You descend down briefly until you come across a broken track in front of you. This leads to the coaster descending backwards in the to the mountain at full speed in pitch blackness. You pause again to see a video screen of the Yeti tearing up the coaster tracks and heading your way. Of which then you're now dropped going forward to the steepest drop on the ride. You pick up some pretty good speed and there's some fun turns until you're back at the base to disembark. Considering the steepness of the main ascent, I expected more speed but it's full descent is divided into two descent sections. (Backward and forward) The decor throughout the queue line and the ride is very detailed and definitely enhances the experience. It's a definite must ride in Animal Kingdom and I'll definitely be back. Enjoy!

Codie Nicole A.

Yelp
Haven't been on this ride in 10+ years and was way faster than I remembered but that's not a bad thing. Used the single rider line and got on in less that 5 minutes! Fun coaster ride!

Tae Kyung Y.

Yelp
Expedition Everest is hands down the most thrill seeking ride out of all four parks as it's the highest roller coaster -- but you have to remember Disney itself is not a park known for their thrill rides. Located in Animal Kingdom, this is the highest roller coaster in the park and it offers great thrills. Built around a man-built mountain shaped like Mount Everest, this ride has some great theming beginning with the queue. I love the part where you go backwards and it's a great ride to check out - unfortunately, it doesn't go super fast but it's still one of the few roller coasters at the park so it's definitely worth checking out. We rode this ride with Genie+ so we didn't have to wait long but it doesn't look like the queue for this ride is terribly bad. Even if it was, it wouldn't be too bad because I truly believe this ride has one of the best queues.

Shonda C.

Yelp
Animal Kingdom has the best rides in Disney. Just like Splash Mountain and Avatar, Expedition Everest has a beautiful scenic set up. As with anything at Disney, it's all about the experience. This roller coaster will defiantly have your stomach in knots and then your heart in your throat and you begin to travel backwards.

Derrick G.

Yelp
Expedition Everest is a very good ride, with some great surprises. They build to the ride is very good and sets the tone that you are beginning an expedition to Everest.

Pam W.

Yelp
I'm not a huge fan of roller coasters but this one is fun! Traveled to Disney with my two daughters, who are 20 and 18. We've been visiting Disney World for eons and have probably visited a dozen or more times. From the time they were little Everest was a hit with them. I never rode because I didn't think I could handle it. During our trip last summer. I finally worked up the nerve to ride and really enjoyed it. So, of course it was on the list for this visit. We got fast passes so minimal wait in line. If you do find yourself in line, there is great theming to take in as you wind through the queue. They also have a single rider line that is good for people who are by themselves. That's a great way to get on the ride, but you will be sitting with a stranger.

Gaylon G.

Yelp
Truthfully, the biggest negative about this ride is simply the fact that it is nerve jarring for those with sensitivity to jerky rapid motions and to those that are concerned about flying quickly downhill in an open car. Oh, yeah, and the fact that you are being threatened by a mythical Yeti. Beyond that, this is a great ride. The line spends a lot of time immersing you into a Nepalese environment and building the tension related to the existence of the Abominal Snowman (by other words of course). This includes the presentation of proofs of their existence and helps you to believe that you are entering an area known for their presence. As with everything Disney related, the ride begins from the moment you enter the line and ends with you flying through the mountainous Everest area, either screaming your head off or at least listening to others doing so. Fortunately, in good times, Disney also captures that sheer fright on camera for you to purchase and laugh over years later. My own daughter rode this with me years ago and later told me, "I cried." I was of the opinion that she was just cheerfully tearing up. Nope. Full on panic attack. She cried. Be prepared. It's pretty eventful.

Karen N.

Yelp
I rode this ride about nine years ago. I must be getting old because it didn't thrill me. What I can say is that if you are a first time roller coaster rider, this is a fun coaster to ride. When the coaster reaches the end of the track, you fall backwards and ride the coaster this way for a little bit. The wait time was only 5 minutes. I gave this coaster 5 stars because the props are as cool as the mountain itself and kids of all ages will have a great time.

Sarah S.

Yelp
There definitely used to be a listing for Expedition Everest but it somehow has vanished into the great unknown! Here we are again with a fresh, new write up for this mega coaster. Expedition Everest opened in April 2006 in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom. You've likely seen photos of it in Animal Kingdom as it makes for some truly gorgeous portrait backdrops with the snowcapped mountains towering over the park. If you want to ride Expedition Everest, you should probably get a fast pass. Lines can get incredibly long though not on the same level as Flight of Passage. This ride has a fun queue to explore but not fun enough to make waiting two hours enjoyable. No thanks, I'm all about the fast pass! This is also one of the few rides where there is a Single Rider line, as well, but with each row having just 2 seats, it's not a super-fast moving Single Rider line like at something like Test Track (which has a 3 person row). They will usually post a separate wait time for the Single Rider line. The whole ride runs 2 minutes and 50 seconds so it's not super short nor super long - kind of just right in length. You climb up a mountain in the Himalayas and then do what roller coasters do best! - dive, swoop, and swirl around, no loops so you're never upside down. There are some tricks and surprises though none of which I will spoil for you! One thing that is not a surprise is you'll encounter a Yeti, the keeper of the mountain! At the time this was built, it was the most complex animatronic Disney had done but that's no longer the case (Hello Pandora!). This ride is not for the faint of heart, but I also don't think it's particular intense. It's just under 200 feet tall (so it doesn't need a blinking red light on top for planes!) with the biggest drop clocking in at 80 feet and a high speed of 50 mph. It's one of my favorite roller coasters I've ever been on as it's so much more than just cheap thrills. Sure, it has some of those, but you race through truly beautiful landscaping and fun surroundings fitting in with the story. This rollercoaster cost $100 million to make so it dang sure better be mind blowing. Best part of the ride? When the train cars come back into the station and blow smoke out their stacks! I always make sure to ride Expedition Everest while at Animal Kingdom and you surely should, too!

Jack M.

Yelp
A Disney World classic. Every time we visit Walt Disney World, we have to stop by this incredible coaster. The ride has never once broken down when we were there. Great thrills mixed with smooth riding. Expedition Everest deserves 5/5.

Benjamin T.

Yelp
Every time I visit the animal kingdom, I forget how awesome Everest is! The coaster is beautiful during the day and very cool at night. Disney does a great job of filling up its coasters with effects and this attraction doesn't disappoint! Choose the last cart 15/16. For a harder pull especially when going backwards. The single rider line for a quick ride or rides is worth splitting up your party.

Martine K.

Yelp
What can I say? I love this ride. And I'm not giving any spoilers in case it's your first go at it but it's one of the best. I had a Fast Pass so I was lucky because the wait can be super long. If you love roller coasters and already understand the art of waiting at Disney then you should definitely go give it a try. You'll want to go again!

Lorie L.

Yelp
Fantastic ride at Animal Kingdom! We were very happy to get a fast pass for it; however, it's worth doing standby too. They create an interesting space that's warm but enclosed, and it tells the story of the yeti. The ride is fast and rides backwards in portions. My teen and I rode in the backseat and he was fascinated watching the track rotate us to a different track. The ending features a strobe light and yeti reaching for the riders. It gets me every time!

Stacy F.

Yelp
Filled with twists, turns and some backwards surprises, this coaster is a fun time. It's an older type of coaster, so it's a bit 'rickety' and definitely bumpy. There is always a hefty wait, so I recommend using one of your fast passes here if you can, so you save time. The line is outside, so if you don't have a fast pass, it can get quite hot while you wait, so bring a cold water bottle and maybe some snacks. The ride itself has a fun theme with a cold Everest ride and a Yeti on the loose. There are some surprise turns, so beware if you have motion sickness. Be sure to read all the warnings on the wait just in case. Overall: A Hefty wait time pretty much always - get a fast pass. Fun ride overall with great twists and turns.

Anne F.

Yelp
I think I usually giggle the entire time I'm riding this ride. I just have so much fun with it! Disney doesn't do much "thrill" when it comes to their rides, but this one can still get your heart rate moving. It is the fastest ride in Animal Kingdom. I usually get a FastPass for this one if I want to ride it, but I don't ride it every time I visit Animal Kingdom. I do like that you can stow small items in a pouch in front of you when you sit down. It is just a lap bar, nothing over your shoulders since this ride does not go upside down. They do have a single rider line! If you don't care who is sitting next to you in your picture- this is a great option to save time in line. One of my favorite parts of this ride is the incredible view over the Park. If you aren't too wrapped up in the thrill, take a look around to admire the Disney Magic inside Animal Kingdom.

Josh B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite rides hands down. First of all, it's a "single-rider" ride. So, if you only have one person in your party or you party doesn't mind being split up, single rider is the way to go. I went to Disney right after Hurricane Maria and of course it wasn't as busy for obvious reasons but it did make it somewhat more easy to ride almost every ride in every park with the exception of the rides in Avatar park within Animal Kingdom. Well, let's just say that I rode this ride 14 times. I had to stop because I started to feel light headed but that's a small price to pay for the excitement I felt on this ride. (Seriously though don't overdo it if you feel light headed or sick or whatever). I got to this ride and immediately got in the single rider line. It kind of feels like VIP since you're walking past all the people who decided to stay in groups sweating in the muggy heat. About 5 minutes later I'm at the front of the line and being put on the next car. The ride starts with a fast turn around a corner and then a few short fast turns around the rock edge. Then there is an abrupt halt while it cranks you up a steep incline as if you're going up Everest. I really liked the decor and layout of this ride. It goes up pretty high and you can get a great view of most of the park. Obviously it's not the real Everest but they put a lot of time into staying on theme. Anyway, after you're cranked up and ready to go, they ride plummets toward the ground at Warp 9 (not actual speed or you'd literally die, but you get what I'm saying). It's fast but not a steep drop because you head upward toward the end of the tracks. It makes it seem like you're going to go off the track into the dead end but just you wait.... After a slight pause, you hear the click and the ride goes backward at maybe Warp 8 this time and twists and turns down dark tunnels. I loved it because you can't really see what's coming and it catches you by surprise. Then the reverse momentum stops as you enter the cave where the Yeti lives. It's actually chilly in there so it's kind of refreshing. Then, you go forward again down a somewhat steep drop and around some tight turns and again through tunnels and finally come to a screeching halt. Listen...this ride is awesome hence why I rode it another 13 times. If you want a feel for the ride before you ride, look for a video online and you'll see. This is easily one of my favorite rides on my 1st visit to Disneyworld.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
This ride is awesome!!!! My 5 year old daughter and I got a chance to ride this today, it was very well done and fun. This was her first "big ride" and we had so much fun for sure. My favorite ride at Animal Kingdom by far

Yelp
Is this the best ride at Disney? This one was a blast to experience for the first time with my kids. We came in with no expectations, so the surprises and twists were a lot of fun. As it only seats two, I was able to do a rider swap with the girls and fast-pass in for the second ride. There was a ton to see in line as we waited. I almost would have liked more time to look over all the details. 5 stars both times around!

Yelp
Four stars from me because it is dark throughout a lot of the ride and my weak equilibrium can't really handle that without feeling nauseous. That's just me and please don't judge me too harshly for it. I can't really help how I'm made. Anyway, this really does feel like a fun Himalayan train ride. You climb really high and you literally do feel like you are going for the top. It was a big surprise to start going backwards as well and the animation in the middle was great. I've heard they've changed things up because of the animatronic problems but overall it was a lot of fun. However, I did feel sick at the end. Just me... If you are also similar, you might not be able to handle this one as well. Basically if you can't really handle Space Mountain, this one probably wouldn't be good either.

Yelp
Smooth, fast and fun! This ride keeps the mind wondering with a false track stop and reverse mode mini ride before the main ride takes course. I've road it in the day and night; highly recommend doing both and it's pretty cool if you catch it on a stormy day like I did today.

Yelp
This is my favorite roller coaster at the Disney parks, next to Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios. The detail on the run-up for the ride is great. A lost expedition to Everest w/rumors of a nasty beast to blame peppers the trail as you await your turn on the ride. Artifacts and news clippings add to the mystery of what might have befallen them. A number of twists and turns await you on this ride, including some darkness and misdirection. No loops, so moderate for a rollercoaster. Younger kids can handle the intensity. Some semi-scary images, but Disney scary. Probably would avoid under 8 to be safe.

Yelp
Can't believe you can review rides! Definitely ride this ride if you are in The Animal Kingdom at Disney. It might look a little scary but it's not - my best friend isn't a roller coaster rider and she even really enjoys it! This ride is all about finding the yeti on mount everest. The ride is awesome- it goes forwards and backwards and has a yeti video (kind of.. don't want to give it away). It's really unlike any other roller coaster. If that's not enough, the waiting area is super cool. Lots of hiking gear and it looks like you are at hiking stations along the everest journey.

Yelp
Everest is one of the best rides in any Disney park. We always grab a fast pass for it when we're planning to visit Animal Kingdom. Although I'm a huge fan of roller coasters that go upside down, corkscrew, etc., Everest is a thrill even without those elements. The funnest part is taking someone on it for the first time and listening to them react to the sudden backwards drop. Priceless. I 100% advise you to wear your sunglasses the entire ride. I personally think it's a lot more fun in total darkness. There are some neat set pieces to look at, but you're not in one place long enough to really admire anything in particular. Since this is tamer than a typical roll coaster, I just find the added darkness to crank up the interest. The one thing I dislike about Everest is the queue. It's ridiculously muggy. Also not a fan of the final breaks before you pull into the station to disembark. With the feats of engineering we've achieved in this kind of technology, they could have shown a little more finesse there. Anyway, Everest is a must-ride at AK. The wait time can climb up to 75 minutes, but I've never seen it get anywhere near what Avatar: Flight of Passage does. Fast pass is definitely the way to go. A final note, they light up the mountain at night, and it's a great picture backdrop as the sun starts to set. Take it on the bridge heading into Asia or around the corner and a little closer to the actual entrance. Stunning!

Yelp
I love roller coasters so I loved this ride! It was high speed but not too high speed. I would consider this entry to mid level type of roller coaster. It's shaped in the form of a train with rows that sit two. It has sharp turns and it goes backwards and forward. There is also one sudden drop. There is a period of the ride that you are in complete darkness as well. You are able to store your stuff in mid sized bags in front of you. I wore my sunglasses and they did not fall off. They do take a picture of you, so smile!

Yelp
The best ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom. If there's a single ride that you absolutely must get on in all of the park, it's this one. From your typical rollercoaster thrills of sharp curves and steep drops, to speeding through a corkscrew while going backwards trying to escape from the wild Yeti, this rides got a lot going for it. This is my absolute must ride every time I come to the park.

Yelp
Very "Cool" ride! This is located in Disney's Animal Kingdom near the Asia part of the park. On the day that we went, we decided to do the Standby which had a wait of about 45 minutes. It is worth the wait since you travel through many items and rooms that are well decorated for the climbing theme of the entire ride. The other theme is the search for the elusive yeti and there are many items set up beautifully to show things associated with this creature and its lore. Much of the wait is in these rooms and some of it is outside. The park has set up fans for the areas where you are waiting outside. The ride is a roller coaster type affair with 2 people per car and about 16 cars linked together for a single train. During Covid you are required to wear a mask inside and while on the ride. The ride goes forward and backward and some of it is in the dark so be warned that if you are prone to motion sickness you may want to skip this ride. For everyone else it is a fun ride that is different from most other roller coasters. On top of that part of the ride is nice and chilly, so on a hot day, this is a great place to cool off. Enjoy.
