A thrilling roller coaster at the eastern edge of Animal Kingdom. This coaster is easily identifiable by the large mountain structure you can see. This ride has low waits on rope drop and it’s rare this ride to go over a 60 minute wait. About the queue, it’s immersive and has lots of interesting artifacts. It really captures Nepalese culture well and it’s fun to go through. The ride itself has a high climb and parts where you go backwards in the dark. But for people who can tolerate it, it’s a fun and thrilling, yet scary ride. Overall, would definitely recommend if you’re visiting the park.

I declare myself a fan of speed, but I'm terrified of heights. This roller coaster is ideal because while it takes you high, almost all of it is inside, and you don't have time to feel the vertigo from the outside. It has very steep drops that will leave your stomach in pain. While you wait in line, there's a museum with real objects found on Everest and things related to the Yeti monster, who will be waiting for you on the roller coaster. Incredible! One of my favorite rides in all of Disney World.

the animal kingdom is a great park.. but this ride always breaks down at least five times a day, staff is slow to help us, and we are always stuck at the worst places. We thought it was gonna be good , and I was excited but then it broke down.

One Of The Best Ride In Animal Kingdom, You Are Going 120 ft up and then you stop, then you are going backwards inside the mountain, after that you are exiting the mountain fast, really nice ride.

I went on this ride months ago. It’s a thrill ride for most people of any age. Kids can do the ride as long as they meet up to the height requirement. It does go backwards and into a loop when you’re going through the mountain before you meet the yeti for the first time. It’s a good ride to go do. There is a single rider line for anyone who is doing rides on their own. There is a lightning lane that can be used as long as you have a reserve time for the ride. I still prefer the fast pass option better.

Amazing ride. Extremely detailed theming to the Himalayas, and the coaster is situated in an entire man-made mountain. Do not recommend if you can’t handle backwards motion, or very big drops.

This was my absolute favorite ride in Animal Kingdom! Although, I have to warn you. That very first climb is very high & steep. You may not want to look down if you're afraid of heights. Haha! It was a very chilly morning after a cold front. What does that mean? Well, it means that you may not want this in your rope drop strategy as your first choice on a very cold morning. It needs multiple test rides without passengers just to be safe. It didn't even open until just before our 8am-ish time slot, with early entry at 7:30am that day. We were aboard our Expedition vehicle in no time. I didn't really have enough time to worry about motion and height. What I will say is that it gave me GOTG: Cosmic Rewind vibes during the backwards ride on the way down. It was the sudden bumpy twists and turns that made me realize it was different. It's not a smooth ride at all. Lol! I quickly laid my head back on the headrest to prevent any jerking motions, and watched as everything passed by so quickly. My husband didn't seem to love that part. I heard him say, "Thiiiiis Suuucks" on the way down. I'm pretty sure that I saw the Yeti twice. It was one time on a screen in a dark part of the mountain. Then, a second time above us. He's looking down at us before leaving the mountain. He looked monstrous at that point. Maybe not as scary as it once was when it was moving (it doesn't appear to move anymore), but it's fun to look for him. The Yeti sightings are real on this ride. I would most definitely ride this one again. It's Lightning Lane worthy in my opinion. It's not just a roller coaster ride. It has a story, and some very cool elements. You'll see that as you make your way into the mountain range. A must when you're visiting Animal Kingdom.

This is an amazing ride. Offering high speeds, thrilling drops and a wonderful theme. It's well worth waiting for in a queue of up to 50 minutes, any longer and I'd say you're pushing it. If you are able to, I would highly encourage purchasing a lightning pass to be able to get onto the ride quicker albeit at a premium.
