I Took a Cruise to Antarctica and Spontaneously Got Married in the Coldest Place on Earth

"After we returned to Polaris we took our wedding cake to the Explorers' Lounge to share with guests and crew, and while cutting slices the music duo called us to the dance floor for a spontaneous first dance during the lounge’s evening party; I can’t remember the song — I just remember being so overcome with joy that Forrest and I both tripped over our feet as we danced." - Jennifer Billock

We loved this place. It's quite big, and the decor is perfect for a lounge type setting. Our server, Matthew, was awesome. He provided outstanding service and was very attentive. The only downside is he's a Steelers fan (haha!!). Our food was so delicious. I had the Atlantic Salmon topped with shrimp and homemade dill sauce with lobster risotto. My fiance had the fish and chips. Both were amazing! We loved dining here.

Didn't expect much on the food at this lounge, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Backwoods burger and pecan pie were excellent! Nice vibe feel with great service. Recommended.

Food was good. Staff was friendly. Hockey kids, not so much.

Was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant after reading the underwhelming reviews. Wonderful food and drinks, great atmosphere, lovely staff. The live music was a nice touch too - not too loud as many have said. Our family, with 2 kids under 10, really enjoy our dinner and experience.

Me and my fiancée had a great time for a few nights in Lake Louise. Props to the bartender as well as Meaghan and Matthew, even tho his Steelers beat my Jets 🤬. All kidding aside I'd highly recommend this place

We sat there for about 50 minutes and they straight up refused to serve us. A group of 12 men all keen to have dinner and drinks, and they just said they were too busy to take our order - this is while we were already seated. Cherry on the cake is that we were staying at the hotel, which they didn’t seem to care about - it’s like the business hates both money and its customers.

My favourite bar in Lake Louise. The salmon and butter chicken were good, but nothing to write home about. The food is relatively expensive for what you get. If you want a gourmet meal you might be better off at the Railway Station Restaurant or the Chateau. I'd recommend coming here for the beer, mixed drinks, and appetizers. They are open to families, but closed to under 18s around 8:30, after which groups with kids would be better off going for pizza upstairs (the same drinks menu is available upstairs if you ask). The atmosphere is great for adult groups who want to get drinks together after a long day of skiing, but also have to get up to hit the hills early (they close at 11pm). Rusty runs a tight ship at explorers, and all the staff are excellent. Magee, Grace, Taylor, Olivia and Victor are all fun to hang out with and really make this a great place to spend time.

Yelp
Decent dinner on our first night during our stay in Lake Louise. Service was courteous and fast and the food was decent, albeit bit exceptional. I was pretty happy with my bangers and mash, the bratwursts were really good! Togarashi shrimp was too spicy I heard and the chicken wings were good. The dessert chocolate molten cake was really good, I almost regret we got only one to share in three people.

Yelp
Would give 3.5 stars... but the kind waiters it gets a 4. I ordered a bison burger and it came out like it had been sitting for 30 minutes:/ I gave feedback and the waiter was very polite and respectful he said "It's how we learn, thank you for speaking up!" Next burger came out fresh and cooked decent. Kids enjoyed their meals. Expect a wait 5:30-8pm for about 30 minutes (they give you a buzzer so you can go back to your room if you'd like) it was very loud and packed!!

Yelp
Food was great tonight. I ordered the wagyu burger $30 plus poutine fries on the side $8. The tuna sashimi - honestly though, the portion was very small for $22. But the service was fast and nice enough. Came here the night before also (on site restaurant for Lake Louise Inn) and got the salmon with veggies, shrimp, and lobster risotto. Plus, calamari was good. The risotto had a few hard bites but the rest of the meal was excellent. Service on Tuesday night was crazy with only 1 server and long waits but I understand times are tough.

Yelp
3 for food and 2 for slow service. The Aloo gobhi tasted really nice so we came back again. Although its one of those places where you see your food & drinks ready on the bar counter but servers are missing to serve you. You order gets cold/ hot lying there where you wish if only you could walk over & grab it.

Yelp
Not a bad spot when you don't want to leave the hotel. The fish and chips are great! Big hefty white fish fried in batter and served with French fries or you can upgrade to poutine. The vibe is a young college student hang out. There's darts, foozeball, big tv for watching sports and a full bar.

Yelp
Came here again a couple times and the food was much better. I had some great ribs and a good burger. The service was great too.

Yelp
Decided to come here because we stayed at the Lake Louise Inn and we surprisingly enjoyed the food here. We had little to no expectations for a pub/restaurant on the hotel premises but everything we ordered was great. Highly recommend the calamari and honey garlic wings - both cooked and flavored perfectly. I tried the butter chicken and thought it was pretty good; the chicken was a little dry but the curry and rice was good. My friends all ordered salmon and they said it was good as well. Overall, pretty decent food and worth trying especially if you're staying on the property.

Yelp
this sports bar is located in Lake Louise Inn. They also provide food like steak and rib. We have coupon so order expensive steak it taste not bad.

Yelp
Why this place has so low ratings?? Their signature wings are amazing! So juicy and the dippings are excellent!

Yelp
The food was just awful. Sure, it's cheaper than the other dining establishments in the area, but I'd rather shell out $24 for a damn good soup and sandwich at the Chateau than $14 for a godawful fish and chips at this place. Dried out chicken, soggy fries, limp salads and funky tasting fish. What a waste of cash...unless you like a meal that borders on dog food, and not even the good whole-grain, natural stuff.

Yelp
We got stuck after a late night in a foreign country not really sure where to go. The gas attendant down the street was kind enough to point us in the direction of this place. It's downstairs from a hotel, has a pretty young crowd, and has slow service but the food more than makes up for it! We came in on wing night and I had the spicy honey, at the servers recommendation, and it was delicious. My husband had a steak sandwich and that was amazing as well.

Yelp
The service was very slow. Our waiter was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people. The food was subpar - I got the impossible burger, and am not sure how someone messes that up. It was dry and overly salted. Overall overpriced and mediocre.

Yelp
Food and service was great then suddenly at 9pm the music was so loud no one could partake in conversations. I don't understand- everyone was enjoying meals. Not like the club scene started. Getting check and leaving. Shame.

Yelp
Breakfast buffet was good but not great. The price was high given the quality of the buffet. I would not go back for breakfast.

Yelp
Here for the World Cup Ski event, two weeks. Tonight will be my third meal here. Service is slow, which is to be expected on nights when it is crowded due to the event. First night here it was a Wednesday and I got a meal quick. But with just three waitstaff (including bartender) if you see more people than empty seats you should find someplace else to eat. I have $25 vouchers which I have been using mostly for breakfasts (good service upstairs!) but occasionally for dinner here. Update: Didn't finish my review from the other night. I just ate here again for the fourth and last time, and here's what I posted on Facebook: Well there's a first time for everything. First time I've ever eaten at a restaurant/bar and not left a tip due to bad service. I'm sure since the waitstaff completely ignored me (even turning their cheek every time they walked by) they were much more interested in keeping the parties of four or five or more happy. Sometimes it sucks eating alone. I might have ordered another drink and/or a dessert if these boobs weren't so incompetent. See that empty glass? Been that way for half an hour. See that empty plate? I finished my meal 20 minutes ago. Follow up, from my second trip here: I came in and found an open seat, it didn't seem too crowded. After I arrived and took a 4-chair table, and while service here was slow, I wasn't completely ignored, maybe because it was the blonde and not the short dark haired girl. Got my order in, and while I waited for my food and drank my beer, group after group came in. They took all the waitstaff attention. They also took the three unused chairs at my table. So, I proceeded to enjoy my meal, quietly being ignored. No problem, except the site lines are terrible in this place it's hard to find a table with a good view of a TV. They have no TVs at the bar, so while other singles might like to belly up to the bar, I prefer not to have to stare at a wall of bottles all night. Anyway, I finished my meal and patiently (and I mean patiently) waited for waitstaff to clear my table and present my bill. After a half-hour, I gave up and knowing I had a voucher quietly left it on the table and slipped away, which was easy to do while they were busy ignoring me. I've had better service at a fast food restaurant.

Yelp
Tried the spicy wing challenge and was defeated horribly, still had a great time and the service was awesome. Decently priced and lots of tv's to watch the games.

Yelp
The service is great here! The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, and it is a great place to relax and grab some food after a long day of skiing! The food selection is what you would expect for a lounge, and isn't expensive if you're trying to keep costs down. Also, the 3rd degree wing challenge on Wednesdays is not for the faint of heart! I highly reccomend this restaurant! Shout out to Amanda, she was an amazing server!
