Extended Stay America Will Help Register Guests to Vote at Its Hotels

"Last week, Extended Stay America launched a voter registration initiative across the 561 locations of its hotels in the United States that it owns outright. Stay Counted is a brand-wide effort to build awareness for the upcoming presidential election. From now until November 3, 2020, every Extended Stay property (which can be found in 41 states) will greet guests with lobby signage promoting the initiative; there will also be information about registering to vote shared on TV monitors around the hotels. Social media and email campaigns nudging fans of the brand to ensure they’re registered will be deployed between now and November. Associates, who on Fridays will be wearing dedicated t-shirts showing off the Stay Counted program, can help guests through the process of registration if they require it. Most states allow digital registration on vote.gov, which guests can even do while they’re checking in. But if you’re from a state where you’re required to mail it in, the on-property staff is ready with stamped envelopes. Everyone who registers will get a sticker they can wear to spread the word further."

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A special shoutout to Randy, who truly made our trip even better. He made sure our rooms were ready on time and right next to each other, which made things so much easier for me and my family. His attention to detail, friendly attitude, and genuine care did not go unnoticed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and perfectly set up for our needs. We will absolutely be staying here again, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-notch service. Thank you, Randy, for making our stay so memorable!

The manager Randy is so amazing. He helped me with getting the best room in this hotel after I had such a hard time getting off the road and looking for a good hotel to get some rest in. The room was spectacular and I got some great rest. And I loved how he was on top of his job and making sure I was taken care of. Thank you so much Randy.

I absolutely enjoy my stay here! the hotel is very clean, there's no tolerance for disorderly contact. most importantly is the safety that me and my family feel while being here! BIM is pretty dope and is great at her job!

The Worst Hotel Experience of My Entire Life – A Total Nightmare I’ve traveled the world and stayed in every type of lodging imaginable over the past 50 years, but I have never experienced anything as horrifying, outrageous, and downright unacceptable as this. From the moment we arrived, we were hit with an overwhelming stench of marijuana. It wasn’t coming from outside — it was coming directly from the front desk clerk, who was visibly high and completely incoherent. She was so intoxicated she couldn’t even log into the hotel’s system with her own ID and password. That’s right — we were denied our reserved room because the hotel staff was too stoned to function. After driving over 8 hours without dinner, we were exhausted, frustrated, and in desperate need of rest. We called Extended Stay America’s customer service, only to be met with a useless automated message telling us they “couldn’t assist after 6 p.m.” It was 8:30 p.m. We were stranded with no help, no access to our room, and no one taking responsibility. This wasn’t just inconvenient — it was dangerous. The hotel had no security, and anyone could walk in. Outside the entrance, there were multiple groups of people openly smoking weed, loitering, and making the area feel extremely unsafe. The whole place reeked of drugs, neglect, and lawlessness. To call this place unprofessional would be a massive understatement. This was total chaos, fueled by drugs and zero accountability. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. In fact, I would strongly urge anyone reading this: DO NOT STAY HERE — unless you want to be stuck outside, surrounded by drug use, unsafe conditions, and zero customer service. Extended Stay America should be ashamed to operate under these conditions. This wasn’t just a bad experience — it was a complete violation of trust, safety, and human decency.

They charged us for a week that we weren’t even there & the amount they charged us for was very well over their weekly rates. When my husband spoke to the manager, first the manager had a complete attitude like we had the audacity to ask about our money & why were we being charged for a week that we weren’t there, then they refunded us LESS THAN HALF OF THE TRANSACTION. They refunded us only $170. So that was fun having to go thru my bank wait 30 days for money that was taken out for an UNAUTHORIZED TRANSACTION!! & DO NOT get me started on the roaches in the rooms & the smell of piss in stairwells. More so an expensive over priced homeless shelter then an extended stay.

wow this place is awful. I’m a La Quinta girl so my standards are pretty low. super dirty, stairways smelled of urine and full of trash, kids running around screaming, trash in the hallways, sheets dirty and mattress stained. lady said there were no rooms after I had a reservation, ended up just taking one with a broken TV which is fine. she said a reservation isn’t a reservation and it’s first come first serve, even if made on their website. another couple went to their room and found someone was already in it. no one said anything about a pet fee and it wasn’t on the website, and then the lady yelled at me and added $27. no bed bugs though! I know it’s a budget option, but at $120 it’s not even cheap.

I am have mixed feelings about my stay here being my first time. I have to buy my cooking utensils. Nothing was provided only 1 bar soap and 1 toilet paper. No, even an iron. The doors are open 24 hours, which means a non-resident could walk into the building and do whatever they want. The worst part is that I ordered groceries, including pots and pan and it was delivered at the the door of my suite (according to the delivery person) but the whole stuff was gone at the time I got to the door. I found out it has happened to someone else because she had it at her door that delivery shouldn't be put at her door. From the entrance, you will perceive all kinds of stuff. In my opinion this place should be listed as a 0ne bedroom apartment so you are prepared The tap for the wash hand basin is at the lowest and close to the wall of the basin, so your stuff is touching it in order to get it wet. I like the kitchenette, and it has a range and a standard fridge with a freezer on top. I might not be staying at this location again or extended stay it's self. Security is more than zero .

Worst experience I have ever had. The front desk, Zoe, told me that she could not log into the system to check me in when I arrived around 6:20 pm. She asked me to go back in about an hour, but she had no idea why the system is down, claimed that there was only her and no one else can help, and she could put me in a different room. When I asked if “put me in a different room” meant giving me a room for that hour while waiting or for my entire stay, she kept interrupting me and didn’t let me finish my question. A customer came by and told her to go look for another staff member who stays in the hotel. This staff member logged into the system without having any problem and went back to her room. Zoe was able to find my reservation but claimed that the room was no longer available due to overbooking and asked me to go to another hotel and come back to cancel my reservation next morning. I asked her to give me something black and white so whoever helps me in the morning would know what happened and would not charge me for the room I couldn’t check in or canceled. After writing down my name, date and time, she scribbled a couple more words that no one could recognize (including herself after 10 minutes) and said that would be sufficient. I called the number on the hotel business card and was told that my cancellation can only be done through booking.com even though I made the reservation via Priceline. They gave me the number for booking, but it is AI response only. While I was trying to tell the AI I need to cancel my reservation, the other staff member came back to the front desk and stopped me from doing so. She quickly checked me in, at 7:30 pm. There appeared to be no problem with the system or the reserved room, only Zoe who didn’t know how to do her job. The room was dirty, with grease on the table and hair on the toilet seat. Don’t go to this place. Terrible service!

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Atlanta this is my go to place to stay . Not only is it affordable. I don't have to sacrifice cleanliness and the staff is always so welcoming and accommodating to any need or wish . I promise you won't be disappointed with this choice

Yelp
Never returning to Extended Stay Duluth GA. When I came to check in into my rooms in April 2024, the young receptionist clearly told me the rooms were booked by a large party. My group resulted in booking another hotel the same night. I later found out the there were rooms available when I called the manager. Now I cannot get a refund from my third party due to the "no show" status. It is technically valid due to "availability of rooms " FYI guest relations provide great service but the hotel

Yelp
This is the WORST Extended Stay in Atlanta Georgia. My wife had booked a reservation a few days ago. And the so-called manager Patrick said they had no rooms available. Patrick had a nonchalant attitude about the booking. He stood there and shrugged his shoulders as if it were our problem that their were no rooms. My wife asked to use the rest room and Patrick stated no public rest rooms in the hotel.

Yelp
awful. not at all how depicted in photos. customer service by Extended Stay America was terrible; no efforts made to resolve problems, or support satisfaction. Room was in poor condition. it was missing an entire drawer. The "breakfast" was a pack of instant oatmeal. the coffee was so hot you couldn't even drink it. My mouth stayed burned for two days. The one elevator that was t taped up with caution tape reeked of pot, as did the hallway. The lobby had numerous people walking around in socks with plastic bags and the parking lot stayed busy all night. I actually cancelled my trip after one night and drove home. Naturally the hotel refused to refund me any of the money even though I would have stayed if it had been as advertised. Disgusted with the management of this location as they simply do not care.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE...unless you are really really desperate. The staff is great but the hotel O.M.F.G. GROSS! PLACE STINKS like wet dog BECAUSE PETS STAY HERE TO... FINE BUT WITH CARPET? NASTYYYY NO NEW KITCHEN TOOLS EVERYTHING still had food on it. EXCEPT TOASTER that was new. WE asked for new sheets and only got ONE SET they were being washed from previous rooms. The room I'm in is dirty! Fake nails and hair under the bed, dust 4cm thick on headboard. check the ac. Filters were never cleaned!! The rubber base boards are not attached to wall and the holes behind them have roaches coming out. The mattresses had blood stains and springs poking out. Changed the sheets, the pillows have what looks like mold and pee stains.. I been here a week we're looking into another extended stay I have pictures of everything my wife booked the room online on a travel site because my brother passed away and we wanted a well known name for safe, clean environment.... we were sadly mistaken We should have stayed at the holiday inn. Don't stay herenot worth it.

Yelp
warning! do not stay here and do not be fooled by the photo's; they were taken when the place was new!!! i travel alot and have stayed in some bad hotels before, but never as bad as extended stay america duluth, its the worst. hotel staff lie in your face, bugs everywhere, hair in the bed, fridge and towels, and the tub, omg! we saw many guest trying to get refunds only to be turned down. we paid $1400 for our 11 day stay and was forced to stay or lose our money!! i could say so much more but i wont because you have been warned enough by myself and by others who took time to leave a review.

Yelp
I typically have grace with hotels when traveling because I realize that it is impossible to please every visitor. However, this hotel is the bottom of the barrrel. It was HORRIBLE. There was a substance growing on the bathroom mirror, which I assumed to be mold. The carpet in the hallway smelled horribly, and the carpet in the room was torn and frayed. The blanket smelled like cough syrup and it obviously hadn't been washed. The worst part of the stay was requesting anything from the front desk. We asked a rude emplpyee named Kathie for a coffee maker and cups. With an attitude, she supplied these items in a plastic container. When we asked for coffee, she commented "You're pushing it." ---I didnt know it would be an issue to ask for coffee- which SHOULD have accompanied the coffee pot to begin with. I also didn't know it was okay to speak to guests in that manner. When we asked Kathie where the ice maker was, she chuckled and replied "We dont have one." This facility also lacked ice trays to make your own ice. Never have I been to a hotel without a coffee maker and ice, but I dismissed my irritation to go to the room and enjoy my coffee. Once I arrived there, I noticed that the coffee maker was dirty from previous use and the silverware and cups in the plastic container were spotty as well----including the plastic spoon that was obviously misplaced among the "real" silverware. There were SO many issues with this place, but the bigger issue is the lack of professionalism among staff. I will NEVER stay there again and i wouldnt suggest this place to anyone.

Yelp
BEWARE! While the hotel was nice enough, this was the worst overnight hotel experience I've ever had! I received a call at 3 AM from the front desk letting me know there was an incident with my car in the parking lot and the police wanted to speak to me. I went outside to find that my car was one of five cars that was broken into that night! If you stay here, park in the front row beside the building ONLY!

Yelp
So I am a hotel snob. My preferred hotels are Hilton and Marriott. You know what you are going to get wherever you stay with those brands. After waiting till a week before to look for hotels for Memorial Day weekend, I tried out the Priceline hidden deals. You get a great low price and and idea of the brand of hotel and the price per night. I was excited to find a 2.5 star hotel for a super reasonable price about 40% off others compared at the same star level. So I had options like holiday inn, I thought ok, this should be ok. I placed my order and found out it was an Extended Stay of America. I was panicked at first because I have never stayed at one of these places and the hotel snob I am was worried. Once we pulled in the parking lot was dirty but the front desk area was ok. I got to our room and did my usual check, clean bathroom, bedbug check, and cleanliness throughout. I was pleasantly surprised it was actual really clean and no bedbugs. These type of hotels are efficiencies and they have a kitchen area with full fridge, stove, sink, and microwave. They don't have a traditional Hotel breakfast but grab and go options. Coffee, breakfast bars, muffins, and oatmeal. It was ok for me since I'm not a big eater but my teenage son this did not feed him. Overall, I was surprised by the accommodations. It was affordable which allowed me to visit and spend my money on food and doing things.

Yelp
My family checked in for a couple of nights while we wait for our home to be ready. We booked our room online and then found out at check-in that the room we paid for is not available so we would have to go check in next door at the sister property. We get to the sister property and for times sake, I'll fast forward through the part where the girl at the front desk was flirting with my husband and get to the actual stay. The room was okay a tv, two full sized beds, a range top, and fridge. You can tell that it wasn't thoroughly cleaned because there was long blonde hairs sporadically throughout the room as if the previous guest had some light shedding going on. Nothing a good vacuum and a load of laundry couldn't fix but it was really gross, though because it was everywhere: the bed, the floor, the bathroom. I took the towels down to be swapped for clean ones and was told that there water none so they'd call me when they washed them. I never received that call but my husband happened to stop to check on them on his way back up to the room and lucked up since another guest was there waiting for towels also. Fast forward to checkout day... we paid extra to be able to checkout at 1pm instead of their normal 11am. A lady from the front desk comes banging on the door at 11:05 waking up my napping baby and telling me we have to go. I scramble to find my receipt to show her that we paid for late checkout. She hesitantly says oh and goes away, sans apology for waking the baby or any sign of remorse. About 15 minutes later, another woman comes knocking on the door just as I get him back to sleep. Same thing. I show the receipt. This lady apologizes, at least, and leaves us as we technically still have a little over an hour and half. About 10 minutes after that... YES! AGAIN! This time it's housekeeping. "You gonna check out or what?" "No!" I snapped. The location is very convenient, which I loved. Lots of restaurants and shopping near by. Washer and Dryers are available on the first floor for $2 per wash or dry. Late checkout is $10/additional hr past 11am. Breakfast consisted of muffins, cereal bars, oatmeal, and coffee, all complimentary.

I was here for two weeks while waiting on our house closing. Smells like marijuana and cigarettes. Also noticed what appeared to be women of the evening and shady individuals hanging just out side of the doors all times of the day and night. It was loud and contacting the front desk did nothing. My daughter was scared. We had roaches in our room and there were blood stains on our sheets. 2 of the washers were broken and there was only 2 dryers working. There was also a racial aspect and I felt discriminated against by front desk staff. My husband was horrified. Beer bottles and cigarettes butts litter the property. I did call guest relations with no luck. I do not know who is running this place but it's complete trash. I would never ever stay here again. The rest of these reviews have to be made up. Worthless employees. Walley? The manger was nice enough bit I got the feeling that complaints are just looked over. Good Luck if you stay here.
