I have never had a more filthy room in my life. The restroom smelled like someone just took a dump and there was actual poop in the toilet, the sink drained VERY SLOWLY. & the worst part, there was an actual USED CONDOM under the bed and the open wrapper on the side of the bed. That there just tells they do not properly clean the room. Never again will I stay here and I'm glad I got a refund.

I’ve stayed with this place fairly frequently only because of it’s location. I really don’t like the place because they don’t take care of it, but also because it’s too cheap, and I don’t like the clientele they attract.||||The most annoying thing is not having an ice machine. Every lodging property should have some ice for the guests to cool down some drinks after a day on the road. They give the guest two ice trays (if you’re lucky) and that guest has to wait over night to get some ice, or go buy a bag at a store which is too big to fit into the freezer. It’s just one of many missing features this place should provide.||||But, the most offensive thing in this facility is it’s basically dirty. It hasn’t been deep cleaned, or seen any new paint in ages, and the place looks like it. They give all new meaning to the term “roach motel,” as bugs are visible in the guest rooms on every visit, and the ownership is not doing one thing to exterminate them. Additionally I’ve found acrylic bath tubs with cracks in them which they have attempted to repair with RTV silicone rubber. Again, this makes the appearance of the place look run-down, and not cared for.||||The elevator in the place is of the hydraulic variety, as one can hear the fluids moving. It’s not likely to fall, but the noises it makes going up and down would leave anyone wondering if this thing could stop any minute and refuse to move forward. It clangs, and bangs, and makes passengers nervous, not to mention the graffiti on the inner walls of the car. No differently than the rest of the building it just needs some professional maintenance it’s not getting.||||I know these people are not in the vending business, but on my last two visits I could not get a soda from their vending machines. Twice it took money, but didn’t dispense anything. And the fact that the vending room is locked, with an indoor entry is just a huge inconvenience, and not needed at all. It’s just annoying to have to fish for a key card in a place where security is not needed.||||The staff there has been pretty professional and courteous, but they can only do so much. The problems at this place are far above the local management, thus I hope the franchise owners are reading this. I think I’m done with the place as it’s just gotten too dirty, and the bugs are very offensive. Mariott charges more, but they take care of their properties, and they are only about a mile to the south. ||||I can’t recommend this place at any price in it’s present condition. If you choose to sta with these people be prepared to co-habitate with cock roaches. This place is not really near the medical center at all. That’s stretching the truth about as far as it will go.

This has been a reliable safe and secure Extended Stay for me over the years that I have used many times for work. When there has been bad weather in Houston, either Hurricane Harvey, winter ice storms, other flooding, you name it...this Extended Stay has been an affordable place for me to stay for a night or even several nights. This place is close to the medical center and a major freeway/highway, it's not in a dangerous area or anything, but that being said I wouldn't put it past anyone to use this place for illicit/weird purposes. Keep in mind, this is not a fancy place, it is what it is, a 2-star budget hotel. But it's a reliably decent 2-star budget hotel. The rooms are clean enough, big enough and you feel safe enough here. I really don't ever remember a bad smell in these rooms, at least overwhelming smell. This Extended Stay doesn't feel like a sketchy, shady hotel, but again, who knows what your neighbors are up to. The price is great, so you're getting a good value for that affordable money. They also don't care if I order out/door dash to my room, which I loved! Sometimes 3 star and above hotels might make a big deal about ordering out with a delivery person to your room. The negatives about this place, every time I stayed here, they never cleaned the rooms, which I didn't like at all. I don't even think they offer that service. One time I stayed here the toilet was not working, I called and complained and asked for maintenance help and they said someone would show up, but no one ever did. I had to use the toilets at work or at a McDonalds on Kirby, which REALLY SUCKED!! There is some kind of cheapo complimentary breakfast which is wrapped snacks and coffee, which I guess is better than nothing. Overall, I have been grateful for this Extended Stay for giving me a place to spend nights during bad weather events in Houston.

Positive: Location Negative: The elevator is in a scary state?shakes & makes loud noise. I did not feel very safe because the parking lot is isolated & the hotel guests were extremely random & some sketchy.

I have stayed with this place before, even though I don't like it. It's in the right place for my needs. They don't charge a lot, and the customer doesn't get a lot. The desk staff was courteous and professional, but I know they only have so much they can work with.||When I got to my room it was in working order. The bath enclosure had cracked in the bottom, and rather than replace it they had glued it up with RTV rubber. If they had put in a quality tub to begin with, they wouldn't be having this trouble. I know it won't stay sealed very long, if it's even sealed at the time. ||The most offensive thing about this place is no ice machine. The guest gets two empty ice trays in their full-size refrigerator. Additionally the refrigerator doors hinge on the wrong side, making the door difficult to open. They are reversible, and someone needs to reverse them.||The entry lock on the sleeping room door was cranky and problematic. Sometimes it took 3 tries to get it to open. Their vending machine refused to dispense soda twice, at which time the desk agent used cash instead of credit cards (known good) and it finally dispensed. I got the standard "we don't own this machine" disclaimer, which doesn't concern me at all as long as it's not taking money/refusing to dispense product.||They claim to have breakfast in the mornings, but I have yet to see more than just coffee. There was nothing there at 9AM when I checked out. The pillows in the room were about as big as the head of a Q-tip, and I did ask them to supplement what was in the room. The bed was OK, and the towels were adequate, but I wouldn't call them fluffy. The guest gets one itty-bitty soap flake, and one microscopic bottle of shampoo.||The wall outlet by the desk has no volts in it. Their wi-fi works OK, once the guest goes through quite a bit of coaxing to get it to authenticate. I didn't use the TV, range top or other cooking features, but the light in the range hood was burned out/didn't work.||Generally speaking I'll choose a bit better grade brand than this, but there's nothing else close by that works for me. That other national brand just a block to the West was so horrible I committed I'm not going back there. This place has free/easy parking, and I've never had any trouble with leaving my car there over night.

Pros and cons: close to hospital we needed to be at, front desk clerks and managers are very nice (they just took over the property and are trying very hard), has kitchen for long stays. But...no housekeeping until you check out. You have to take all you dirty towels to the desk and request new ones. You have to take out your own trash. It's a shady area, a lot of homeless people hanging around, but management keeps a close eye on them to make sure they are not bothering the guests. It smells like marijuana in there yet they don't allow smoking in the hotel. Sabrina, the night clerk, is wonderful! They just need to do a little work to it and get the right customers and it will be a good place.

This hotel was the absolute worst place I’ve ever stayed in my life!!! Our room stunk of sewage so bad it was almost unbearable! I complained every day (5) that we were but nothing was ever done. I asked to speak to the owner daily and he was always coming in later or would be there in the morning. We leave tomorrow, so today they tell me he’s been out of town but will be back tomorrow, our flight leaves at 8am. I feel it’s only right that our stinky room be drastically discounted! Also. The floors were laminate and whatever they used to clean them made them so slick! After my husbands treatment at MDA, he was so weak and fragile, I had to hold his arm with every step he took so he wouldn’t slip and fall. Apparently they clean with pine-sol to try to cover up the sewer odor and that even made things worse! They also advertise a FULL kitchen. Ha! No pans, plates, silverware, no utensils, no coffee pot, no grab & go breakfast as advertised. Nothing! Nothing but filth & stench! And management, please do not respond to my complaint unless it’s too tell me you are refunding at least 1/2 of what I paid for my room! I will notify the BBB, theAmerican Cancer Society for recommending this chain and the health department! Your doors need to be locked and your keys taken away!!!

Yelp
"Booked" a reservation 2 weeks before arriving. Paid up front through a 3rd party booking site in full. Arrived at 3pm to check in on my arrival date and they stated that they "called me earlier that day and since I didn't answer they gave my room to another person". No other rooms in the area. NEVER stay at this hotel. If you think you have a room you probably don't. I will never use this chain again.

Yelp
Pros: free self parking, free coffee and oatmeal in the morning 6:30-9:30am, microwave in room. Cons: no elevator service til 12/04/17. I stayed here 11/11/17-11/14/17. Stinky stairwells. Slow receptionist at night The rooms were just the minimal, nothing fancy. Basic bed, bathroom, small kitchen. Bed sheets didn't look clean, they looked old. Since the elevators were out of service, we had to take the stairs, which was stinky, damp and musty smelling. The morning coffee was delicious!!! That's all I can say. Would not come back.

Yelp
The price was about $100 for an overnight stay on Saturday night. The room was clean. It took about five minutes for the shower to heat up. The hotel is right off the freeway which was a convenient location. The breakfast consisted of packaged muffins, granola bars, hot chocolate and coffee.

Yelp
This is one of the worst poor management I stayed her for 6 days.when I arrived there were no pots and pans dishes or forks and spoons went to the desk they had no pots and pans now if a guest is staying for 6 nights how come there were no pots and pans available to use. Every day the lobby smelled like weed.the front desk is closed from 11:00 pm till 7:00 am so no protection for the guest they have a security that sits in his car at the beginning of the driveway coming in with a sign saying sign but you don't sign in you just continue on the property again no protection for the guest all kinds of homeless looking people coming in and out of the hotel during the course of the night again no protection I would never ever put anyone in a position to stay at extended stay America at 2300 loop south west it smells its stuffy in there there remote control works when it wants for you and your family's safety DONT HAVE YOUR FAMILY STAY HERE they really need me to help them manage this motel to get it in tip top shape I never ever had to rate a motel this low its not a safe place to stay they really need to bring in good management HERE

Yelp
Length of Stay: 2 Months The Good: The room was very clean when I arrived and the front desk staff were excellent throughout my entire stay. They provide all the kitchen items you may need for a long stay. The location is also very convenient for any area you need to visit in Houston, especially Greenway, the Museum District, or Upper Kirby. You are also located near many great restaurants and grocery stores. Within a five minute drive you can meet any need which you may have during your stay. The Cons: There appears to be a lack of communication or management ability in the hierarchy of this hotel. First of all I went to inquire about a broker card reader at the entrance closest too my room, expressing my safety concern, I was met with hostility by one of the managers and told that propping the door was needed for the convenience of the guest. I understand the lack of convenience caused by having to walk through the lobby but simply wanted to express my objections about the safety of the situation in case something were to happen to my room. In the end the manager assured me that they had ordered the part and were working on fixing the problem. Two months later and this problem still was not fixed. The second problem I had with this hotel was their inability to provide housekeeping service on the day which I was promised it would be provided. Three times during my stay there I had to inquire at the front desk as to why I had not received any housekeeping that week and then only after informing the front desk staff did I receive the weekly housekeeping service I was promised. The last week of my stay I actually did not receive any housekeeping service at all. When housekeeping did actually clean my room they did a very good job.

Yelp
I came to Houston to visit some family for Labor Day weekend, and attend a football game. I had a long drive from Kansas City, MO so we arrived a few hours earlier than the normal check in. That part was fine. There were rooms available. We had 3 rooms total. Because we were early we could not all be on the same floor. I'll start with the elevator. It sounds like it's about to break down every time you use it. Apparently they only clean/change bedding in the rooms every 7 days. They also clean the rooms when someone checks out (supposedly). I asked if our rooms had been cleaned when I was checking in. I was assured they were clean. Lies...ALL LIES!!!! I will start with my father's room. This room had a stopped up sink and blood stains on the sheets. It was disgusting! Also the water was not working in the bathroom. The next room was my room. The bathroom was dirty. The sheets were stained. There was a dead bug in the room. The bathroom door did not close. I felt so disgusted being in that room. It was so gross. My uncle's room on a higher floor was also dirty. Their water was not working. The rates we were charged were ridiculous; $85.00 for the first night and $95.00 for the second night. This place should never charge more than $50.00 a night. They only provide a grab n go breakfast. Its granola bars, fruit and muffins. The staff was nice, but the place was nasty. I will not stay there again!
