Where to Stay in Austin When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"I point to Extended Stay America on the edge of Zilker as the most budget-friendly option in that area, noting most rooms have kitchenettes and dining space which is useful if you want to save by cooking." - Matthew Kepnes

My family and I are between homes and new to this area. Have been having a great experience with the staff and everyone here is very friendly. The manager Kendra deserves a raise because she certainly does a lot more work than most people do. She fills multiple roles and I have never heard her complain. The entire staff deserves a raise for the outstanding work they do even off the clock !! They make everyone who are between homes here feel like this is home and not just a hotel. 🥰🥰🥰

The management at this hotel was shockingly rude. Instead of listening to concerns, she dismissed them with an attitude and treated guests as if we were an inconvenience. A manager actually raised their voice when I asked for help with a simple issue. The lack of respect and professionalism ruined the entire stay. I would never return.management only makes things harder. The toxic leadership drives away good workers and leaves both staff and guests frustrated. Worst management I’ve ever experienced. There only 1 housekeeper and she is an AMAZINGLY GREAT PERSON AND WORKER I BELIEVE HER NAME IS SAM thanks for all your HARD WORK AND WHAT YOU DO .perfect definition of EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH .

The staff is amazing. My refrigerator went out and instead of going through the motions of making me switch rooms, they just swapped out the fridge from a near by room. After getting used to the room you're in it's cool to know they take care of you this way. Great staff and maintenance crew.

Sharra, Todd and Shaunti absolutely blew my mind with their outstanding service and courtesy. Sharra in particular went above and beyond in a way I will never forget, and all three were absolutely phenomenally skilled and exceptionally friendly. English lacks the capacity for appropriate praise. My only qualm would be that there's an apparent understaffing issue. At no point was I unduly delayed, but I couldn't quite tell you how the staff was able to pull that off with the overwhelming demands on their time and attention. Magic or other supernatural abilities, is my guess. I fully intend to extend my stay at this location until I'm capable of securing a long term apartment, and the exceptional service is why (in spite of lower prices elsewhere). They justify the expense without a doubt.

I really liked this hotel because its not just a bed and bathroom. It's a studio apartment like setting. Your room comes with a kitchenette with a refrigerator and not a mini frig. You are close to shopping. You are centrally located.

I had reserved a 2 queen bed room for a few days and was charged $300+ for it. I walk into the lobby and Jamie tells me that there are no rooms available. She just plays coy and says she doesn't know why it would tell us there are certain rooms available when there's not. Her customer service was completely incompetent. Nothing was resolved, except maybe I get my money back within 9-10 business days (which cool, but that doesn't resolve my issue trying to book a room) so overall I'm not too happy. Jamie needs more training.

My family stayed here for a month in-between our old apartment and our new home. This location is horrendous, the staff were incredibly rude, they never came and cleaned our room a single time even after requesting room service 3 separate times, never told us that they would be periodically and randomly coming in and inspecting the room during your stay, and they charge an extra $400 per pet on top of your original bill that isn't stated at all if you setup your reservation online. This location is at best a -1 Star Extended Stay Motel. Don't waste your money and just stay at an Air BnB.

Listen to the bad reviews. You can get so much more from newer hotels in the area for a measles 20 dollars extra or less, more they discounts are basically the same at some of the nicest hotels I've been to. Ever since they changed staff this place has been a drag! Josie looks miserable at the desk all the time kendra can't be bothered to pretend to be a nice person and the new older Hire seemed lost constantly. came back since I had a good experience in the past with the girl with the blue hair and turns out she's not here anymore, I wonder why? Hope she went somewhere where they appreciate her customer service ! Will Continue to spend the extra 20 to stay at the nicer hotels in the area because this building is older than the franchise and all the appliances don't work half the time the stove is broken, microwaves dirty, tub drips. You get a Russian roulette on if you get a horrible room or not ! Staff now could make it better by having good customer service atleast but they can't be bothered seems like the job is a prison for them....
