Extra Copy is an old tiny copy and notary service center. The old lady that runs this shop has only one tiny copy machine. I asked for the price to have a page printed and she said $1.50. What a beauty. Other similar business in the area only charge 0.15 cents or a dime per copy. That said I declined to go do business at Extra Copy aka Extra Expensive. Overall, I do not recommend you go here.

Google
I’m trying to get a simple journal printed and they were quoting me one dollar per side of the page - so $100 for a 50 page document basically. Other shops in the area charge half that.

Google
Awesome small business for notary, copying, scan and printing services! Marina was incredibly kind and helpful. The store was Walt Disney’s first studio prior to moving over to Hyperion, a hidden gem right in Los Feliz. Highly recommended for anyone looking to notarize copy print or scan documents and for those who are into Disney!

Google
It’s insanely expensive. They charged me $5.50 to print 5 black-and-white pages with no images.

Andrew D.

Google
Told me it was 1 dollar a page for black and white printing. I negotiated it down to 50c a sheet which is still way too high but the fact thats the starting price is absurd.

Needed to sign a document in front of a public notary. She was able to see me immediately. I was very pleased to see that she required masks for entry and was wearing one herself. Very pleasant and convenient experience! Lots of cool Disney history bits on the wall as well.

Google
I am a regular customer at Extra Copy. Always great to be there and see Marina's welcoming smile. She is quick to help, and the service is outstanding. You can make copies, notarize papers, fax, use the computer, order business cards and etc. Prices are convenient for all. I highly recommend everyone to experience the great service at Extra Copy.

Brad K.

Google
NOT 18cents per copy, other reviews are wrong — 35cents, very high. Plus $4 for one plain manila envelope. Total rip-off place! My first review ever because you all need to know this.

Yelp
Extra Copy is an old tiny copy and notary service center at Vermont ave and Kingswell in East Hollywood. The old lady that runs this shop has only one tiny dirty copy machine. I asked her for the price to have a page printed and she said $1.50. What a beauty!! Other similar business in the area only charge 0.15 cents or a dime. That said I declined to go to this photocopying business at Extra Expensive Copy. However, if you want notary service for $15 bucks you can do it here; it is the same price as other notary services in the area. Yes, I inquired to other similar services. Overall, I do not recommend you go here for copies.

Yelp
Needed something notarized quickly and walked in this tiny gem of a small business which is also the site of the original Disney Studio apparently ?! Lots of fun memorabilia and articles about the old space. Fun to check out the wall while the notary service was being done. The notary service was $15.

Yelp
Quick, easy service. Just needed to print one page and I got right in and out, no wait. Cheap cost for quick printing and kind employees. Thanks!

Yelp
All hours online say they open at 10am, but they don't actually open until 11am and they do not answer their phones. Doesn't really seem like a reliable business.

Yelp
Super quick and easy notary work for a very reasonable price. Bonus they are the original location of Disney Studios and have fun art on their walls

Yelp
Maria is so kind and helpful :) Lovely Los Feliz staple, small business FTW May The Force be with you

Yelp
Fantastic, quick, friendly service in a delightfully charming spot. Very happy to have found Extra Copy and glad to know they're in the neighborhood!

Yelp
I felt inclined to give this review cause she really saved me! I needed some copies of a document immediately and saw that this place was down the street so I go in a rush with only 6 dollars in my pocket. Total comes out to 6.60 and I'm PANICKING but she swoops in like my own personal superhero and says "it's okay don't worry." Bam, got my 6 pages and got out in less than 5 minutes. May be a bit expensive but the owner is a wonderful lady.

Yelp
I print out a lot of flyers, small and large, for various events I produce as well as classes. I used to go to a great copy spot in Burbank (Ara Copy) that was excellent. But since living in the Los Feliz/Silverlake area, I'm hoping to find a regular place to get copies. I went in to Extra Copy to ask questions because I had tried Copy Cat several times. Copy Cat often doesn't have card stock, or if they do, their printer isn't feeding the paper so they can't offer it or there is usually some type of problem. And they aren't great with color flyers and such, although they are a nice bunch of people there. So I wanted to ask the people at Extra Copy several questions and show them an example of a flyer to make sure they could become my regular copy place. The woman at the desk was not friendly at all. I explained to her I'm trying to find a new regular copy place and that since I have specific needs for color flyers of different sizes, I wondered if I may I ask her some questions. She said "OK," and began looking down sorting through papers. I thought that was pretty odd, but I asked her my questions, even though I wanted to show her some examples I had in hand, but she refused to look at me. She was completely bored and annoyed with my two questions. She barely answered them, seeming very bothered. I understand that some people have limitations when it comes to social interactions, or have problems with ADD, or may have fluctuating moods, since dealing with the public isn't easy. But I was kind and friendly and had barely been in front of her more than 60 seconds when it became clear she didn't want anything to do with me. I gathered my things and began to walk out. As I stopped at the door I turned around and finally said, "You know you've been very unhelpful." She seemed completely surprised. I'm sure this is how she greets many people, but I will definitely not be back. I never write bad reviews! So she had to be pretty rude for me to do this.

Yelp
What a Treasure in the Los Feliz/Silverlake area, this Extra Copy. Proprietor Ms. Marina and she is very good at serving your needs. Reasonable prices and office supplies and she also recycles cartridges. I am now a dedicated client and will support Extra Copy. Lots of Parking on Kingswell. So if you need a Notary Public which is not easy to find, go to Extra Copy.

Yelp
Worst prices in the city, possibly the world. $1 per page for printing laser black and white is highway robbery. In a pinch you can print one copy and then copy the rest if you have to print there for some reason.

Chris P.

Yelp
Today I came to a FedEx Brentwood to make 4 copies of sheets music, I wanted them on heavier paper and one page was print on both side. The cost with assistant helper on a computer cost me .36 cents per page. A month ago I came to this Extra Copy in Los Feliz, the 4 copies of shipping labels cost me $4+tax ($1/copy). The lady who help me just ignored the fact that her self-service printer was down and she was going to over charge me. So now I am charging you Lady, with my honest review. Folks, stay away from this shop and don't even give her a chance to rip you off. But don't stop support other small businesses just because of this one bad apple.

Grace A.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Extra Copy. The woman there very carefully notarized 3 pieces of an Irish citizenship application for me, which had confusing directions. Because of this, I was worried I would do something incorrectly and my app would be rejected but her care really put me at ease. This is a very small business with quirks..I wish some reviews would be a little more understanding. One review mentioned they charge $15 for notarizing and some banks supposedly do it for free. Banks are some of the biggest businesses in our country. Of course they can afford to offer this service. And if we don't give our money to small businesses, we're putting them out business, at which point competitor-less big companies drive up their prices. The state of CA allows notaries to charge up to $15 per stamp, and that's the cost I was quoted from everywhere I checked before coming here. This storefront was also the original Walt Disney studios! And they have tons of news articles, pictures, and signed illustrations from Disney employees. It was really cool to see.

Yelp
Do you need to just go and make copies and not have to deal with tumbling Amazon boxes, slow service, and long lines? This is your place. Unpretentious and gets the job done.

Yelp
Very convenient little shop across the street from me, perfect for when you just need to print something. The woman (owner?) who assisted me was very sweet and helpful. She was even able to provide me with quarters since no where seems to have any during the pandemic--a HUGE bonus when a girl has laundry to do.

David B.

Yelp
Went here in an emergency and regretted it immediately. None of the equipment is from this decade (or the last), nor do they accept credit/debit. The prices listed on the signs are deceptive, and I paid through the nose for a simple print job -- I never would have if I'd known how much they would charge me. I feel like I've been extorted.

Yelp
I called to get a quote on printing out a 52 page script - $6. Arrived to be charged more than $11. By way of "explanation" each of the two brads "costs 75 cents." The lady behind the counter was so grim and determined I didn't even ask about the other $4. I did say, "this script would cost $4 to print at Copy Cats." She said, "then go to Copy Cats." I obliged her request, and even left her a riveting hour-long sci-fi thriller to read during the down times. The bait and switch seems to be a recurring element in these reviews. I won't go back again, but they've been in this (incredible) location since the 70's, so the owner's probably not working too hard on tweaking the formula.

Yelp
What a great little neighborhood resource. I was able to get some documents notarized and scanned and they were very affordable. The lovely woman who runs the place was very helpful. They seem to have quite a lot of services packed into a small place, a historical place at that, since it was the very first studio of Walt Disney from 1923 to 1931 in this tiny place. So lovely to have small businesses like this in the neighborhood.

Alyssa R.

Yelp
You sure pay Disney prices at this place. They charge $2 for a single color print on regular paper (for reference other places near by charge less than a dollar for color). I thought it would be nice to support a small local place, but not only are they overcharging, the woman who helped me didn't seem to know what she was doing. She struggled to print my file and when my print came out, it had a discolored line down it. She tried telling me it was my file and that's just how the prints would look but it was clearly from the ink in her printer. Wouldn't recommend unless you are truly in a pinch

Yelp
I don't give poor reviews that often, but the customer service I just experienced was troubling and the order was done incorrectly. Maybe I caught her on an off day. Long story short: she botched an easy print job. She tried to make me pay for it, but I didn't have any cash. (Note: this place is cash only, and that doesn't quite sit well with me. It feels like a scam, and it's very inconvenient.) She made me feel horrible after I said: "I'd come back with cash." She said, "No you won't. I'll never see you again." I felt awful enough that I asked my co-worker to return to finish the transaction because I had no desire to see her again. By my and my co-worker's conversations with her, I don't think she understands technology or printing in general that well. Use CopyCat - it's nearby and they have excellent customer service. The other place I use (CopyCat) never messes it up and I give them the exact same file. And they charge less than 1/2 the price she was trying to charge my small business. Unfortunately, I walked away from this experience feeling saddened, insulted, and scammed. Posting on yelp (to hopefully help other people avoid these feelings) makes the experience seem a little less sucky.

Yelp
The owner seems very lovely however this place is sadly my last choice when having work done .... it has very strange energy (perhaps Disney ghosts? Who knows...) / too hot temperatures / a very frustrating cash only policy (no debit/credit cards) / and significantly higher prices than other local businesses like Copycat. I really want to support it as the owner is nice but anytime I leave here it feels very "off" - but wishing the best and hoping this Yelp review is of value and please let it be known it is written from a place of love and hope, not anger or fear.

Yelp
Sloooooooooooooooow. EXPENSIVE. The equipment is from the Clinton Administration. It took 27 minutes to fax one document and scan another. On top of that, it's cash only. The woman working there directed me to the Bank of America on Vermont to get cash. Fam, it's 2018. We paperless, k? The woman who works there is kind and professional, but honey ain't enough. Staples or FedEx will get my business next time. P.S. Cost me over $40 smackers for 37 pages. The scanner "doesn't do double side" so she charged me for copies THEN scanned the copies. Ma, you're killlllling me. #gouged #NeverAgain

Yelp
I went in to have some legal documents notarized. She charges $15 a signature. I had three done and paid her $45. I then called my lawyer who told me I needed 3 copies of each but that my bank would do it for free. When I told the lady at Extra Copy that my bank (down the block) does it for free, she just laughed at me and told me to have a nice day.

Yelp
I used their Notary service. Professional and a delight to work with. I recommend.

Mike I.

Yelp
This place is historic and so is the equipment. We are talking 1995 technology: The lady working there is extremely nice but that's all this place has going for it. Paper quality is poor and the prices are high.

Kathleen C.

Yelp
I would give no stars if I could. Every time I try to print it's always closed, and I've been burned multiples times trying to print resumes last minute for job interviews. Adjust your opening times or just shut the place down.
google avatar

Simon K.

Yelp
I typically use this business for their notary public service which is appropriately priced. The owner is very pleasant and helpful. I deducted a star because the copy machines look like they are from the last century.
google avatar

Dennis F.

Yelp
It's awesome. I mean, I love having to get documents notarized as much as the next guy but this was better than I could have imagined. It took all of 5 minutes for them to notarize my stuff and they were more than accomodating when I proved to be a cave man on their copy machines. Go there!
google avatar

Marina K.

Yelp
Been going here for years, great service and prices are reasonable. I'm surprised at all the negativity.

Yelp
We needed a Notary Public ASAP for some Escrow documents. Had them signed in a matter of minutes. Exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!

Yelp
This review is related to the unethical pricing this place charges for faxing information. Long distance doesn't exist via phone lines or faxing anymore. If you own your own fax you can fax anywhere in the U.S. for the same usage fees. This place charges $1.50 for the first page if it is local... but apparently Pasadena is not local it's $2.00 for the first page. Not only is this a sham but it is unethical business practices! I mentioned this information in much more diplomatic fashion to the person behind the desk and she didn't say anything. I'm not headed back there any time soon.

D C.

Yelp
This review is only related to fingerprinting. I cannot speak to the other services. Actually, the lady working was quite nice. I paid for two FBI fingerprint cards to professionally fingerprinted. They were $10-12 each. The FBI rejected both saying that the prints were not clear and not enough ink was used. Go find a better place to get fingerprinted -- the lady doesn't know what she is doing when it comes to this service..

dana m.

Yelp
I am shocked at some of the negative comments here. Marina has been in this location for about 15 years as I guess.. and I have gone there over these years to have various kinds of services: copying, notarizing, purchasing office supplies, and she is always kind and business like. They are very efficient and as to the prices, perhaps she is more costly than a Kinkos but it is a small operation and deserves a few pennies more for the personal sesrvice and overhead
google avatar

Dana C.

Yelp
I love this place. Marina has always been very helpful and kind. I would rather support this local business than the mega shops. I try to use this business whenever possible.

Yelp
nice little place very accommodating =)

Yelp
Had to get a very important fax out a few days ago around 5:00pm. They close at 5, but I called and the woman stayed open until 5:30pm to help me get everything out! She is awesome!

Sara B.

Yelp
I like supporting smaller businesses so I came here to print 2 photos on photo paper. I called ahead to make sure they do that service with a flash drive. When I showed up, the place was very run down and hole in the wall. Not necessarily a bad thing, but when the lady sat me down at her PC in the back to work on the flash drive myself, I was a little concerned. She didn't really greet me either, it was more of a humpf and a point. Then she pulled out a yellow legal pad with hand written instructions on how to change the properties settings so that we could print on photo paper. She never figured it out, so we printed it on printer paper, then photocopied that and onto photo paper. The quality was bad, the photos looked orange and 3 dimensional in a weird way. I told her I didn't think this was going to do, so I'd have to try somewhere else. She looked really mad and was silent. I sat there for a moment and said, "I'm not going to take this with me, but would you like me to pay anyway?" And she said "2 dollars." So I got out my credit card, which is all I had and she said "no card". I told her it was all I had and she just put her hand up, took the papers and ripped them up and said "forget it". She wouldn't look at me and walked away, continuing her business. Her attitude was unbelievable considering it was her service that was the problem. Had the same thing happened, but she had been apologetic and understanding, I would probably return there for other things (like copying). Wouldn't recommend this place because of the customer service, lack of knowledge about the very thing they are supposed to be specializing in and they probably need to update their system as well.
