It must be noted that this place can be difficult to visit if you drive all the way in as its a single lane road for vehicles travelling in and out. Other than that it's a very beautiful location with lots of flora and fauna. It's the perfect picnic spot or a place to just hang out at.

A wonderful, free entry, nature reserve/park to have braai's picnics and a 1.3 km trail with beautiful river and bridges to cross, completely paved so no need for hiking boots. Although the reserve has many invasive plants, you can still enjoy the scenic views and trail.

I live on the outskirts of the park in Pietermaritzburg. This Bush Buck visits me often. This picture was taken from my patio and he was watching me drinkingmy tea and didn't even run away when I took this photo of him. A year ago there were 2 of them. So I'm left wandering where the other one is. This one must be lonely. I can tell you this park has lost its grandeur.

Title: Disappointing Experience at Cape Vidal 6 Bed Log Cabin Review: I recently stayed at the Cape Vidal 6 Bed Log Cabin on 06 June 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, we were charged R3465 upon arrival, which was significantly higher than the R2520 quoted over the phone and listed on your website (I have a screenshot as proof). This unexpected discrepancy of R945 was unprofessional and upsetting. Secondly, we were not informed about a power outage that left us without light or hot water. The geyser was cold, and the cabin was in complete darkness. We had to make a fire to cook our meal, and by the time a gas cooker was dropped off at 7pm, we had already eaten a partially cooked meal. This was particularly challenging given the winter season with our toddlers expecting fair and paid-for facilities. Additionally, the cabin's cleanliness was below par. Despite assurances that cleaners had been there in the morning, we found stained linen and spiderwebs throughout the cabin. While I understand being in the woods might lead to some natural elements, the level of cleanliness was more like neglect and not up to standard. Lastly, the assistance from Lindokuhle, the receptionist, and Molly, the supervisor, was lacking. Their inability to help onsite and the delays in resolving these issues added to our frustration. As someone who works in the accommodation and hospitality industry, I am aware of the challenges in maintaining high standards. However, the issues we experienced during our stay fell short of the expectations I had. I hope these concerns are taken seriously and addressed to improve the experience for future guests.

Entrance was free. The reserve is neat and clean however toilet facilities need to be improved. Beautiful surroundings and scenery. Apparently there is a variety of wildlife, but we only saw a few zebras. There is also a hiking trail. Overall, a good place to enjoy a picnic or braai or go on a hike.

Decent family park with good wildlife. Fun trail walk. Downside toilet facilities needs upgrades as well as unpaved road. Overall experience good.
