"For a rewarding day trip in Tahiti, I suggest hiking up to Faarumai Waterfalls from the northern village of Tiarei for a scenic break from the coast." - Caitlin Morton
"Hiking to Waterfalls Tahiti is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Polynesia. Stops can include spectacular waterfalls and natural pools, panoramic views, grottos, archeological sites and lava tubes. A favorite hike is to the three Faarumai waterfalls. From the car park it is a quick scramble through a forest of chestnut trees to the first waterfall, Vaimahutu. Continue on for another 20 minutes or so to reach the other to falls Haamarere Iti and Haamarere Rahi, which are almost side-by-side. With hundreds of varieties of tropical trees, plants and flowers, Tahiti also has some of the world's most beautiful gardens. Visit the water gardens of Vaipahi to experience the abundant flora and waterfalls that flow directly into Lake Vaihiria."

One of the beautiful places in Tahiti that you can visut by driving to the parking lot and going up an easy trail. Yiu can enjoy it for free. The cascades that was open is beautiful. The other ones up the mountain were closed due to heavy rain.

One of the best falls on the island. Must visit. The road to the falls is narrow and through some local residential area but once you reach the end there is a parking area. The falls itself is amazing and majestic. Cleanly kept area. The small bamboo area is a nice addition.

It was an easy drive, easy to find. No cost to see, not crowded. Do use mosquito repellent. Enjoy the view

It was very cool. If you liked doing a lot of photos this is the place for you. There are a lot of beautiful flowers and the river is so calm that if sat next to it you may go to sleep of how calm it is. But the waterfall is very beautiful the water doesn’t fly in all detections how on other waterfalls

Very serene and beautiful. A narrow road off the highway gets you here, a short walk from the parking lot to the gorgeous falls.

Very nice view of a large waterfall. But very uneven trail that requires FULL attention. Watched several people stumble and then I STILL caught my foot on uneven steps.

Great spot to see some amazing natural beauty. When you make the turn just drive till the road ends. The gos originally said we arrived but it was someone's house but we kept driving. The locals are so nice and inviting. They sell fruits and drinks at the bottom of the trail. The park is somewhat accessible but once you get to the first falls it amazing. There are two large rocks for you to sit and enjoy the beauty.
If you have some more energy try to do the 10min hike to the other waterfalls a little deeper in the Park. This is slightly more strenuous hike. But it is worth it .
