We came on a busy Sunday and thankfully had a reservation, so we got in as soon as our table was ready. We ordered pretty quickly after we sat down, and we can tell it was a busy time. Food came after 25 mins later. We felt it was not worth the wait. We ordered the avocado benny, and I felt that the portion was a little bit smaller than other diners. The roasted duck pancake with egg was ok, strong flavor because of the kimchi, and a little bit spicy. Our server was amazing, just that the kitchen was taking a long time and other customers were pretty annoyed too about the long wait for food.

Stopped by in a Sunday with family for brunch. Place was very busy and we had to wait bit. Well worth the wait as the brunch menu is expansive. We enjoyed the bennies and pork belly bacons. Great service as well with our server. Overall a great option for brunch in the area

Stopped in for brunch, luckily super short wait time. Service staff very friendly and helpful, but seemed under-staffed when we visited, as wait times for them to come around was really long. We had the Truckers breakfast, and the Classic Caesar (w/chicken), unfortunately they were out of the lamb, which had been my original pick. The food was really quite average, Caesar being slightly better than the Trucker's. Similar experience on my previous visit. Cute diner vibes.

I love fables concept from farm to table. I've always wondered how they would interpret diner style food here. I was very excited and had high expectations. From the hostess to the service at our table, front house service is excellent. As for the food, wow it was very memorable. I had the duck pancakes. Savoury duck, kimchi, fried sunny egg on top, it was incredible. The pancake itself wasn't heavy. I didn't feel gross and greased out. The fermented spicey cabbage really cut the fat of the duck. My friend ordered the pull pork bennys. Holy smokes the biscuits were delicious. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Amazing prep skills, cudos to the chefs in the back. We both loved their hash browns so much. I ordered an extra and I love how they garnish with sour cream and onions. I would definitely recommend everyone to try this place once. I've fallen in love. This place is one of my top diner places to go now.

Ordered the duck pancake, it’s flavourful and the duck meat is tender. Unfortunately there was a bone in it. I didn’t tell the waitress but she was attentive when she collected my finished plate and waived my coffee because of this.

Lovely place with good pricing vs. quality for any occassion. You are on a date? Great atmosphere and cozy ambience. What about a business luncheon? I would take the associates here anyday of the week. Great experience with friends over family day long weekend here. The duck pancake lived up to its hype and the rostis were surprisingly light and crisp. The burger also hit the spot with fries that were worth every pennies spent.

Google
It doesn’t seem like a restaurant worth lining up for. Due to the nearby SkyTrain construction, the outside atmosphere wasn’t great, and there weren’t many convenient parking options nearby. The service was extremely friendly, but the food was just average. The salmon was unusually thick and fresh, which was nice, but all the dishes we ordered were served with fries as a base, which felt a bit repetitive. When we tried to pay, there was an issue with the payment machine malfunctioning, so everyone had to use tap-to-pay instead, which was inconvenient. However, the staff handled it very politely and apologetically, so I’d give their service five stars.

Was really looking forward to brunch here on a Saturday & unfortunately my experience was very hit & miss. Fable diner is a typical looking diner with an eclectic menu. Some staff are friendly others not so much. The hostess in particular was quite rude. Both at the beginning & end of our meal. At the beginning they wanted to seat us at a high top. Being 5'3" with hip & knee issues I asked if we could be moved to a low top. Host - We have a lot of reservations. Me - Okay, don't we have a reservation? Host - Yes. Me - Then can we please have that table over there? Host - It's for four people. Me - Oh, I'm so sorry our reservation was for 6 but unfortunately two people can't make it. Sorry, we should have told you that from the start. Host - Yeah, you should have. They then proceeded to give another worker our menus & tells them to seat us over there (the low top). Okay, I guess they hadn't had their coffee yet (which by the way is very good). Our party of four ordered the following : Two Duck Pancakes - they are absolutely amazing & is definitely a reason to come back. Pork Belly Eggs Benedict - I'm not sure what was going on with the pork belly. It did not look or taste like it was seasoned at all, couldn't even really tell how it was cooked. One piece was a very thick white piece of fat or meat? We couldn't tell. Side of Roti - unfortunately not crispy but oily. The Vegan Toast - looked delicious & apparently was. The Mimosa Flight & the Chocolate Peanut Butter Milkshake were both well received. Unfortunately refills here are a miss. I was offered one top up of coffee while there. I don't recall getting offered any water refills. Our server was very nice & always dealt with us with a smile. As we were wrapping up our time, we were there for about an hour & 45 mins, the same hostess came up to us & very rudely asked us to finish up our drinks & leave because there was a lineup out the door. We're not ones to "overstay" our welcome , however it's my understanding that usually a party of 4 has about 90 mins - 2 hours from start to finish. If Fable has a policy outside of these times (I may be wrong but at no point during the reservation or while being seated were we notified of any time limit), then it would be beneficial to notify the party if not during the reservation process then upon arrival. Not at the end of our meal & so loudly as to try & embarrass us. I would love to take my partner back for the Duck Pancake, as unfortunately he was one that could not make it, but that host really has me questioning if it's that good that I'd be willing to subject myself to potentially seeing the host again....I don't know. @inspiringfoodie

Yelp
Gives you the classic diner feel, but the chefs have elevated the menu. They have a duck/kimchi pancake that's indescribable. I also had the meatloaf, which is random lol. But trust me it's next level. The staff has great attitudes and the service is attentive.

Yelp
It's a great space, taking over for the ole greasy Reno and maintaining its diner vibe. Ultimately, the food didn't quite hit for us. Perhaps the name Fable has become so synonymous with elevated food that our food felt flat, but this food was not elevated it was simply okay. We expected a trendy diner experience with elevated food but the burger was a straightforward burger and basic fries. Big, filling, but nothing really standing out as special. Same can be said for the salad, which was huge, but wasn't particularly memorable. The saving grace really is that the prices are incredibly fair. $19.95 for a massive burger is great value and although I was expecting to be more impressed, it's hard to beat that price for size of food. Trivia night so it was loud, that's okay. The service was a pretty classic hipster-too-cool-too-care too much about us. Average but fine.

Yelp
Ordered the pork belly kimchi Benny and it was delicious. The issue is the size of the pork belly. You get two eggs, one on each half of the English muffin. The square shows the amount of pork belly on half of an English muffin. It's tiny. The piece on the other half was even smaller. So let's call it what it is: kimchi Benny with a sample of pork belly. The rostj, which is an additional $1.25 more to sub in, is tiny. Absolutely delicious but tiny. The portion size was sad for the price.

Yelp
Reno Burger and a milkshake! Happy Hour! Great service, great food, proud to say Fable Diner is in my neighborhood!!!! Drop in and savour the menu changes.

Yelp
Very busy location for brunch so make reservations. It's not too loud and service is good. Menu is big and lots to choose from with vegetarian options as well. Prices are decent and so are the portion sizes.

Yelp
Poutine was rich, filling, and very flavorful! The pulled pork grilled cheezus with tomato soup was the best

Yelp
We came here for brunch on a Friday afternoon and ordered the roast duck pancake, trucker breakfast, a chocolate milkshake and a side of pork belly with sherry gastrique. The roast duck pancake and the pork belly were the highlights of the meal, and the milkshake also came as a huge portion as they also gave an extra metal cup with what couldn't fit in the glass. The eggs on the trucker breakfast were also scrambled beautifully. When we entered we noticed there was a long line at the front despite everyone in line already having a reservation and the restaurant being half empty. We noticed that multiple staff had seen the line but passed us and that all the people waiting in front of us had also been standing for quite a while and the line was starting to spill over near some of the diners who were trying to enjoy their meal. When we finally got seated it seemed they were short on servers for one side of the restaurant as the service was very slow and the server forgot a lot of the things we had requested, leading us to have to flag him down multiple times. We could see that the other diners near us were also waiting quite a while for their menus and even the bill. Overall, although the food was decent, the service could use some improvement. We probably wouldn't return unless it's to try out their famous prohibition weekend brunch.

Yelp
A plus sized, well tattooed waitress with a bull nose ring was crushing hard at my brunch guest, while giving me the "why don't you die already" looks. Short abrupt unfriendly answers were met with every query. I get it, she thought my brunch guest was hot and was only acting on instincts. Didn't tell the poor waitress it was my birthday, why ruin her mental fantasy/cruelty..... The food was fine and exquisite. The place was swanky for a diner middle of nowhere on Broadway. Had the duck pancake, better than anticipated. Eating partner had the truckers' breakfast which she wasn't thrilled. Overall mixed feelings, I would have given the place much higher marks, if the heavy flirting was not present. I get it, "entitled" workers. Doubt will ever come back.

Yelp
If I could leave 2.5 I would as I think that our meal deserved no more. That being said our waitress was great and really sold us on some mediocre food, which is saying something. The place is the perfect diner setting, furnishings authentic and lots of little areas to meet up with friends. Not busy on a Saturday morning on the way to the cruise ship terminal, kids reccd this place for great food. The ideas were good but the execution not good. I rarely give a negative review but the plates that arrived were lacklustre and were either overdone or refried? Let's start with the duck pancake. Pancake was just under a plate size, not really warm, with duck bits and kimchi and some crispy rice. There were 5 tiny pieces of shedded duck that were tough and tasted old. Lots of kimchi. Pancake had a sweet sauce that overwhelmed even with the 2$ over medium egg. A sprig if cilantro had seen better days. 2/5 The chicken eggs benny was one piece of chicken actually cut in two, and was so small you could barely see it under the eggs. They were well poached and the hollandaise was tasty. 3/5 The rösti was precooked and refried and was so hard it actually shattered. Tasty though so my husband soaked it in egg yolk and ate it anyway. All in all at 20$ per meal for breakfast we will not be back. Only assuming that it's gone down hill due to the economy right now and that's a shame. That being said we are all over paying money for good food, but this wasn't good.

Yelp
Had a good brunch time with friend in this lovely place. Service is amazing and the food is perfect. I don't know what's the crispy thing on top of the pancake but it tastes like heaven. Highly recommend if you want to find a quite and nice place to chat with your friends or family. It's at the corner of the street and no free parking.

Yelp
Yum, I really enjoyed this brunch! I had a special mimosa, it was strawberry flavored. I had the huevos rancheros for breakfast. It was really tasty! I liked the red cabbage on top of it and the eggs were cooked perfectly. It was really yummy!

Yelp
The service is excellent, but this menu is extremely dated. Its basically Lucy's with slightly quieter music, which is a shame. Normal Fable is so much better and they should either update the menu here or take off the Fable name. If you're seeing this and looking for a place to grab a bite, just go somewhere else.

Yelp
One of those places thats on your list but never get around to it!! Wow, I didn't know what I have been missing all these time!! Anyways, the interior reminds you of the "Good Old" 70's! Service is warm & friendly! Food is an updated version of a lot of the old standbys in "Diner Food". My Steak & Eggs .. come out exactly the way I like, I find the beef to be very tender & full of flavour, cooked medium rare and with eggs sunny side up, it just warms your soul! Spicy Chicken Burger .. Juicy well seasoned chicken breast meat in a crispy batter with just the right level of Heat, it went so well with the Marashino Shandy!! Currently it is a challenge to find parking in the restaurant's surrounding area as construction of the latest underground in Vancouver is underway, but if you don't mind walking, there are always metered parking in the neighbourhood! Local small business like this is well worth supporting!!

Yelp
I ordered daily special Salmon Cake benny (18 cad). As a result, I got Salmon Cake Benny without muffins and er, potatoes. I'm usually not picky about food presentation, but i think this could be done better.... Like at least adding a small salad will make a big difference. Or even a toast. I also don't get why salmon cake benny doesn't have muffins. sure it's healthy but.... Taste was ok but i felt sort of dissatisfied.........

Yelp
I stopped by for a quick late lunch on the weekend. The staff were quick with the order We ordered the Broadway burger and the Tomato Soup with a side of cheese toast The burger was juicy and quite drippy to eat, it might be cause it has kimchi The soup was tangy but creamy, I love this !! I was so full! But have to be back for the milkshakes!

Yelp
With the current COVID restrictions in place with only outdoor patio dining and no dine in service, we opted for take out from Fable. Fable is at a distinct disadvantage as there is no opportunity to have an outdoor patio at this location where other establishments along Main St have built up patios in the parking areas. If you want Fable and other establishments to survive, you need to support them. We opted for the steak dinner for 2 for $40. It comes with steak (cooked as requested), their pepper jelly (so good), salad and fries. It was just the right amount of food. The steaks were cooked perfectly and everything was very tasty. The only slight negative is that visually the portion size of each steak were different...sure they were close by weight. It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend Fable Diner...be happy to dine in here again once the restrictions are lifted as the milkshakes are amazing.

Yelp
had lunch a few days ago with a friend - burgers were wonderful, music great, service superlative - very easy to give kudos to all - kitchen & servers!!!

Yelp
I did a take-out order for here on a Saturday morning; they were quite busy for dine-in but my order only took 20 minutes for pick-up. Since they now have a vegan option, the Mount Pleasant vegan bowl ($16 plus tax), I figured I'd give it a shot. The bowl isn't exactly a breakfast/brunch option, even though it's not on the brunch menu (as well as the all-day) menu, but it still works. It comes with a base of cubed, fried potatoes and a wonderful assortment of vegies -- you get kale, broccolini, roasted cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, and some pickled red onion. The vegetables were really wonderful in here -- fresh and cooked to perfection. And I'm a sucker for potatoes, so I really appreciated this as the base. The dressing was tangy and nutty, with a nice miso gravy. No tofu or other protein -- that's extra -- I skipped this. The carton my food was in wasn't very well-contained, and the dressing spilled out and leaked through the paper bag -- not ideal for take-out. All in all, I was really happy with this experience. A bit pricy, but the quality matches. I'll definitely return for a dine-in experience. Maybe they'll add some more breakfasty / brunchy vegan options -- that'd be nice!

Yelp
Haven't been to Fable Diner in years and my last experience there was meh. But I randomly stumbled here and was wanting a snack so we decided to order a few bites during their happy hour. Food again was meh and not that great. The last few times I've been here was the same thing - there isn't anything special about the food and is mediocre at best. Prices are also a big high for what it is too. Food quality tastes super low even thought they claim that prices are higher because of well-sourced ingredients. From what I can tell there is nothing high-quality tasting about these. Good thing we bought these during happy hour because I don't think I would ever pay full price for these to be honest. CHICKEN BURGER Very dry and tasteless. This burger definitely needed more sauce. The fried chicken itself was crispy but had no seasoning and flavourful whatsoever. Not enough sauce in general so it was difficult to swallow. One thing I did like though was that the insides of their buns are crispy. I love it when my burger buns are crispy on the inside. This was a very terrible burger - one of the worst ones I've ever had and I'm appalled by the owner trying to "fight and justify" that it is the way it is because of their "higher quality ingredients". Anyone eating this can tell this is a low quality burger. You can get better tasting ones from A&W. POUTINE This one was not too bad. I could taste that the gravy had dijon mustard in it so that was interesting. The fries were a kinda soggy even as we ate it right away. I did like that they put a lot of cheese curds in it though.

Yelp
Such a cool diner. Service is always friendly. It actually feels like the staff enjoys working here. The milkshakes alone are worth the visit. The prohibition brunch set is a great deal at $25. There is something for everyone: burgers, eggs, vegan food, etc. Atmosphere is chill and delightful. We will be back.

Yelp
Classic Canadian fare with a twist! Love everything they have there. The corn jalapeno fritters were a delightful surprise! I didn't expect them to be as fluffy as they were. The duck pancake is a must try with so many different fusions of flavours.

Yelp
A member of our party asked for the breakfast sandwich with just egg whites and was told that wasn't possible. I guess their chef doesn't know how to separate an egg. Hi Kathy, it was this morning, we arrived at 9:45 and it was the Breakwich

Yelp
My experience at fable was fabulous, the food was pretty good but the service was top tier. James our server was super attentive, kind and really elevated our experience! I was really impressed by him and I felt like good work should be acknowledged. Hope to be back soon. Also peep below my roast kimchi duck pancake! It was really delicious! :)

Yelp
If you've never been, you need to go here for their farm to diner fare. I have never been disappointed with their service or food. Bonus when we went was that all dad's received a free drink. I chose their amazing peanut butter chocolate shake with Nutella whipped cream and pretzels. Yes, it tastes better than it sounds. Next up is their pulled pork fry bowl. An exquisite blend of flavours with the acidity from their pickled onions cutting through the richness of the pork. We coincidentally ordered their pulled pork sandwich which is absolutely delicious. Their burger is cooked well as expected. I had their DDD meatloaf and their mushroom gravy is spectacular. All day breakfast with pork belly?!? YES! Another fantastic meal and I shall return soon .

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Fable Diner for a while now cause I'm a huge fan of diner-style flat top burgers. Glad to say that Fable Diner did not disappoint. Had the Broadway Burger and the Buttermilk Spiced Fried Chicken Burger. The burger patty was seasoned well and cooked perfectly, with that crisp outer crust and meaty juicy interior. I felt it was slightly heavy handed with the kimchi and not enough mushrooms, but the patty was tasty it could be overlooked. Be sure to have lots of napkins on hand - it's one of those drippy messes you can't put down until you're done. The fried chicken was juicy and crisp, but not really spicy. A solid chicken sandwich, but I preferred the beef patty hands down. The fries were pretty decent too, crispy and well seasoned - no complaints there! The salad was a salad, nothing special and the dressing mostly oil... next time we'll know better than to try to be healthy while eating burgers and fried chicken Will be back to try more burgers.

Yelp
I understand that lunch time is busy. We walked in on a very rainy day, and asked for a table for 5, there was a table available for 4, and we were certain it would fit us, so we said said we would appreciate them fitting us 5 in the booth. The host still said, no and just said that the wait was going to be an hr and 45 mins, but we thought to ourselves, that probably way not the case (more like 45 mins wait). We ended up going to Sing Sing (great place btw), legit, 30-40 mins later, my gf gets a call, ended up being Fable. She let them know that we had found another place, and the host just hung up. Even though I have not eaten at this restaurant, I'm already turned by the service there (or lack thereof). Not sure if it's even worth even trying after that experience!

Yelp
We went on a weekend, it want too busy. Got a reservation too. We came just before 3 pm so we have the Huevos Rancheros but they ran out. Kinda disappointed, we ordered the duck pancakes, corn fritters and the hash with brisket. Duck Pancake - I expected too much, it wasn't that good. The pancake itself was good but the duck, the sauce and kimchi didn't taste that great. It looked good but it didn't taste good. Corn Fritters - this was good. Loved the dip that came with it. The Hash with brisket - hardly any brisket in it, tasted bland and so much red bell peppers. Like wtf, there was more red bell peppers than the brisket. They charge $6-$8 for brisket to be added on, we expected brisket, where was the brisket. I shoulda taken a picture but this was so disappointing. The donuts - they were good and that dip was so good. All in all the service was good and the only thing we like was the Corn Fritters and Donuts. We're never going back. It was a waste of money.

Yelp
Updated: I've updated my review stars given that I really-really did like the Cobb salad. Critter activity isn't really their fault given the digging construction. They can only do so much. I'll be back... after construction is over. I really don't want to leave this review because their Cobb salad is one of the best I've ever had. I liked the salad so much I brought my significant other there to eat after he arrived in Vancouver. After a very nice evening, we unfortunately saw two mice scuttle across the room. It could be because they were doing a lot of construction out front (digging), and maybe they are scattering into the buildings. But still... we were a little grossed out.

Yelp
Environment: It has a cute modern take on the 70s. Patterned wallpaper, gold rims, wood, brick and white tiles embellishes the diner. Food: We ordered the French toast and the duck pancake. Both were extremely delicious! The French toast was just sweet enough that you wont be gulping down water Everytime you take a bite. The mousse was fluffy and light. There were candied nuts which added a great crunchy texture. And caramel sauce drizzled all over! Obviously the presentation is beautiful (see picture). The duck pancake was interesting. Never tried a savory pancake. It was delicious and the kimchi added such a great flavor which gave it more depth in the flavors. The duck meat was also perfectly seasoned and juicy! It was also garnished so beautifully! Service: The service was perfect. They didn't come by too much or too little. Our server was friendly and we made a fun conversation! The food didn't take too long either considering how busy they were. They also had a quick pay method through an app called "Glance" I believe (?) Which allowed you to take care of your bill asap! TL;DR: I would come back. Everything was yummy. Good service. Cute place.

Yelp
Downtown eatry, just a draft beer while we check out the dinner plans. This restaurant has indoor, patios on two levels and a beautiful old bar area. The food was tasty and the service fun yet professional. A downtown Vancouver, British Columbia find...

Yelp
Came here for their social distance brunch where you choose a main and a beverage from their brunch menu including cocktails, milkshakes and more. You also get your choice of coffee or tea, some homemade bread and a sweet treat. Got their all day breakfast, with 2 sunny side up eggs, sourdough toast, potatoes and your choice of ham/bacon/sausage. Their old fashioned milkshake is simply amazing. Highly recommend choosing the chocolate PB milkshake because it's 5/5. The staff were attentive and made sure I was satisfied throughout my meal. Honestly, some good food and friendly staff which makes this spot a must-try.

Yelp
Had brunch here for the first time today. The food was OK, but the service was not great. Our drinks were late arriving, and we were almost finished with our food by the time they arrived. That's too bad b cause I would've bought another drink. The set menu for brunch is stupid, I wish they just had a regular menu like 99% of other restaurants, so you can order what you want and don't have to pay for dessert etc. that you don't want. The food is OK, but honestly it seems like they're trying too hard and overall I think this place is just way over hyped.

Yelp
The diner / brunch craze is still going strong - and Fable Diner leads the pack in Vancouver. Been trying to get into this place over the last 1 year but the line ups always scared me away. Seems weekdays at 11ish is a lull, so we squeaked into a nice booth. Food: Roast duck pancake topped with 1 egg over easy. Made to perfection. The corn pancake is just fluffy enough to soak in the duck fat and yolk. The hidden kimchee provides "kick" in the right spot to contrast the sweetness of the pancake and the savory duck. It's a kaleidoscope of flavours in my mouth. Love it! Mini doughnuts are always nice. It's denser than what I usually like but seems to work well accompanied by the dolce de leche cream. Yum. Lunch menu prices are amazingly affordable. Basic burger and fries or soup or salad for $10. Everything else is around the the 'teens. Only dessert prices seem a little high for a diner. Service: Quick, polite and efficient. My coffee cup was always filled without effort. They held off on preparing the dessert until we finished our main - so civilized. So full now and very satisfied.

Yelp
Edit: Someone was nice enough to follow up and advise my contact information was "Lost". Not sure how that happen considering i emailed them a picture but whatever. The food really is great here and for the most part I've never had a problem with the customer service here. So I've amended my review to reflect my satisfaction. I order take out from these guys all the time. Have never had a problem with them or customer service. So it was surprising to say the least to find a metal paper staple in my kids French toast. I feel extremely lucky I was so attentive when cutting it up. This staple was on the underside of the French Toast and stuck right into the bread. Had I not cut it in the right way, I would have never noticed because it was so close to the thick crust. Now I did call right away and the manager that took the call seemed very apologetic and asked me to email them a picture. She assured me they would review the picture and get back to me about how they want to rectify the situation. At the very least a refund was in order. But did they email me back? Did she phone me back after carefully asking for my name and phone number? That would be a negative on both accounts. So it's safe to say I'm extremely disappointed. I did email them once more before posting any reviews to advise them I was going to do so. Do better please in communication and follow up, I understand mistakes happen in the kitchen..... but as management this lack of communication is a failure on you part imo.

Yelp
One-line review: It was okay but perhaps better for dine-in? Given Fable Diner's reputation, we knew we'd have to go here sooner or later. When we found their burger listed in a Top 10 Vancouver list, we decided to take the plunge. In the COVID season, we're not inclined to eat in, so we ordered their Diner Double Loaded Burgers and picked them up. They were... okay. On the positive, the burgers were big enough -- two patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles (no onion). But because we were taking out, the bun got very soggy; it just didn't hold up to the produce and sauce. Pro tip: Might be better to ask them to pack the 'wet' ingredients separately if you're taking out. Thank God for our air fryer, which redeemed the buns and returned the fries to crispness and eatabillity. On the downside, these just weren't well-seasoned. They weren't unpleasant, just kind of mediocre taste-wise. The bacon didn't stand out. The Fable sauce didn't taste like much. It was edible but not memorable in any way. The take out process was fairly straightforward, once we actually found the place. We ordered (and IIRC, paid) online. On what felt like the coldest night of 2020, we were driving around in circles trying to locate it (we're obviously NOT from that part of town), under the mistaken impression that it was on the corner. It's not. It's a few doors in from the corner and to our eye, not that easy to spot at night. But I'll take the hit on that one; I should have looked more closely at the map. We never did park down there (my wife just drove around the block until I came out with the food), so I can't say anything about that, other than that we did not find obvious free parking near the restaurant. Bottom line: It was fine, but at this price point, we've already had better burgers in Vancouver. If we go back, it won't be for the burger.

Yelp
Tried their Roast Duck Pancake that was featured on Guy Fieri's Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives show and it definitely did not disappoint! My partner loved my dish over the Ham Benny she got (it didn't look and taste as good as we heard it was from friends). We will definitely be coming back here to try their other menu items.

Yelp
Thanks Fable- you guys really knocked it out of the park with THE BEST burgers, the feature shake promotion, and on-time delivery! I'm so used to seeing delivery take 35-75 minutes longer than stated from other places but nope your guy came thru and delivered us our hot and very delicious food on a busy Friday night! Final group consensus- oh-so best burgers in Van that everyone needs rn!

Yelp
It didn't look like much but it certainly delivered. The food was practically gourmet and more delicious than most other brunch places I've tried. I wish they had a bigger selection of pancakes/waffles (sweet breakfasts) over savoury, but for brunch the menu was still pretty accommodating.

Yelp
I ordered here for the first time and was happy with what I got. I ordered the kale Caesar salad for $13 with an additional fried chicken topping for $5 extra. The salad hit the spot. They provided a good amount of kale and an ample amount of dressing. The chicken was nice and crispy. The whole dish was filling and I would orde it again. You can order several diner types of food here, such as burgers and fries. They also are licensed, so you can get wine or beer with your meal. Overall, I was quite satisfied with fable.

Yelp
Had high hopes for the roasted duck pancake but left the table disappointed. So I got the pancake and their doughnuts while mom grabbed their mac and cheese with pulled pork and we split the west coast toast. The doughnuts came out first and I was a bit shocked to see they barely had any cinnamon/sugar on them except for a half dozen random grains on a few of the 6 mini doughnut balls. They were ok but nothing amazing. Having the peanut butter for dipping helped. The pancake was honestly a complete mess. I felt like there was way too much kewpie dressing and when you couple that with the kimchi that was laying right on the pancake and letting the residual juices soak into it, it became a spicy soggy pancake where the flavor of the roasted duck was fully overtaken by everything else and you couldn't even taste it. Which I found even more sad once I pulled out some pieces of the roasted duck just to try on it's own and absolutely loved it! But if you take a slice down any part of the pancake, getting a little of everything, the flavor combinations mask the subtle taste and texture of the roasted duck while being overpowering in both the kewpie and kimchi. This might be a dish some love while others like myself aren't a fan of so tread lightly if you're considering trying it. The west coast toast was great though. The guacamole, salmon, and arugula combined perfectly for a refreshing side dish. I'm glad I tried this place but I had high expectations and they weren't meant so I can't see myself coming back for a while.

Yelp
I came with my harem. They don't know it but they have been indoctrinated to my personal cult. It was a very testosterone challenged meal. Four against one. I felt like an endangered species. I was surrounded and there was no escape. Conversation topics veered from the ordinary, to the mundane, to the outrageously preposterously farcically feminine. Food Fashion Relationships - aka men. Ok, I can talk about food since I'm the faux-epicurean of the group. Fashion? I can do that too, since I'm a shopaholic. Relationships? Hmmmm.... you mean how to pull women at the bar with the use of non verbals to turn female heads without uttering one word?? I get the feeling they're not terribly inclined for such verbal intercourse. They were looking to fill their stomachs. So much for that topic. Zzzzzzz......... I arrived first. Ahead of my entourage. I noticed a full bar. YES. Wine please. Unfortunately, someone in the kitchen placed the red wine I wanted in the refrigerator. D'oh! Cold red wine. They were very apologetic about it and comped it. You get an extra star there. They arrive. The feminine scrutiny of the menu commences. I don't know about you but they were trying to pair food with food in a family style kinda of way, but in a diner restaurant setting. OK, whatever floats your boat. One milkshake and four straws. One cocktail and three straws Each of them have their entrees but each entree was cut up and meant for sharing. Gnocci, poutine, grilled cheese sandwich, soup, fried chicken sandwich. P.s. Guys don't do this with each other. I didn't share my food, but I ate theirs. All in all, they liked their food. I liked their food too. I had my wine and also a fried chicken sandwich. Slightly spicy but good. If I had one comment, it would be that I would have liked the chicken to be one whole piece instead of the three that kept falling out on each bite. Since I was in the company of the fairer gender, I ordered salad with my meal instead of fries. You know, kinda like going to the Arches and getting the supersized meal and downing everything with a diet coke that was also super sized? This is how rationalization works in a femcentric group setting. Prices are very reasonable for this level of food. It's not a Dennys. Comparing this place to Dennys would be an affront to the sensible.

Yelp
Ya it's good. Nice place, good service, good food. Just what we were looking for. Comfortable diner with a good lunch. We were just out walking around Mt Pleasant and got hungry, so we walked past this diner. Glad we stopped in. I had a Beyond burger with cheddar, and my partner had the Huevos Rancheros which he was v happy with. My burger was delicious. Fries were good. Price was right. I'd definitely eat here again. There were a few other menu items I'd like to try. And though I didn't have room, the milkshake being served looked sooo good.

Yelp
I really thought I was going to love this place but unfortunately it fell short. They did have a line up when we got there, but it moved really fast, which is great, partly because they have alot of room. It is super busy in here but it won't take ages to get a seat. I did like the causal comfy ambiance. It was a nice sunny day so it was really bright inside. The food was good but not great. I ordered the All day breakfast plate. They really should mention that they give you back bacon, and not traditional strips. So that's one less thing I'm gonna eat. The rest was made well but not the greatest breakfast I've had. Onto service, which was sub par. It took my waiter forever to come over, get anything, even my bill. It was really annoying. They need to step it up or my feet will rarely step through these doors again lol.

Yelp
Nice restaurant inside. Food portions are very small- $9 for 5 onion rings that take minimal effort to fry. Kale caesar was basically just kale with some dressing, nothing unique or special about it that allows it to be worth the expensive price.

Yelp
You must get the chocolate & PB milkshake if you go here. So delicious and looks amazing for all you igers out there. I got the duck pancake and added the egg. It was really interesting. There was kimchi under the egg which made it all more flavourful. Overall it was tasty; lots of flavours going on. I also got the mushroom which was delicious. It comes with a black pepper jam...out of the world! Exceeding my expectations for mushrooms. Their burger was alright. I had a bite. The side of fries was yummy. I normally hate fries and really liked these. It was real potato. Street parking outside was not hard to find and service was good.

Yelp
This review is for BREAKFAST -- the lunch/dinner menus are probably quite a different story. Came at 10am on a Thursday, and the place was already half full! Liked the relaxed ambience and the diner seats. The breakfast menu is pretty sparse, unfortunately, and the lunch menu isn't available until 11am. I got the West Coast, which looked and tasted pretty good but wasn't a big enough portion for brunch. My friend added bacon to her Hash & Eggs, which turned out a bad idea because her plate became a pool of oil and the few pieces of bacon were not worth the $4... Service was decent, and I liked the online payment option (save $5 first time). Would probably come back to try the day food, but won't be doing breakfast here again.

Yelp
Hands down Fable has now become my favourite neighbourhood place to eat. I've been coming here quite a bit since being without a home and access to a kitchen. Everything I've had here has been absolutely fabulous - no complaints. I love the vibe, the staff (especially Elle) are so friendly and of course the food is beyond exceptional. I love how everything is made from scratch and bought locally. The atmosphere is casual and not loud. They do play music but it's not blaring loud. Tonight I will be having fried chicken and grits. It's so freakin good. Be warned the grits are not like the southern variety, they're better. Hominy grits in a cheesy sauce, served with crispy juicy fried chicken - I tell you what, it's heaven on a plate! There's nothing that these people cannot make. Etc Parking can be difficult at times Yes, they do have wifi They have a daily feature - ask about it They make boozy shakes You can find them on Foodora L O V E F A B L E

Yelp
The worse experience ever! The service was slow, our section was too crowded, it's over priced! There was 4 of us for brunch! The man who brought the food to our table seemed a bit aggressive and more or less dumped the food on the table! I can tolerate cold ham but giving the wait or forgetfulness of staff and the eggs over easy were hard, the hash browns were potatoe chucks you buy in a package at local grocers also cold! The other people I was with all had cold breakfast and my one friend said the eggs Benedict were disgusting and we've many restaurants and this is the worse! The service, the food, the management must have changed, it was an awful, disgusting experience and a restaurant I and my 3 friends will not ever visit again!!

Yelp
If you love brunch, check out Fable Diner. They have decent size brunch menu with items that are interesting enough without compromising the taste for the sake of being unique. My family ordered: Eggs benedict with fried chicken, spicy ranch, gravy on top of a cheddar and scallion scone. The eggs were runny, chicken was juicy and scone was buttery. I loved the hashbrown, which was more of a potato rosti served with scallion sour cream. Heuvos Rancheros, which I've never tried before until today. It's basically eggs, refried beans, guacamole, pasilla, cilantro, pico de gallo, cheddar and sour cream sitting on top of a warm tortilla. I'm definitely having this again. Kids breakfast. Scrambled eggs, potato rosti and a slice of toast. My daughter gobbled almost everything up and she's a terrible eater. The staff were amazingly friendly without any fake vibes. Hipster diner with a huge line up so get here early.
