Yelp
This is a beautiful art gallery complex, which was formerly a textile factory, in San Miguel de Allende. If you're looking for higher-end, pricier artwork from artists, this is your place. If you are hoping to look through local artisan crafts and barter for the cheapest deal, go to the artisan markets in town instead. This is one of the larger art gallery complexes I've been to. My husband and I walked around going in and out of the galleries for a couple of hours max and would be surprised if we made it through half of the complex. Overall, we had a nice time appreciating the work of the artists and the displays the galleries presented. There is painted work and also pottery and furniture arranged in a lovely way (interior design). Entrance is FREE (gratis, en Espanol)! There is dining available onsite, though we did not do so. This is walkable from the main part of town where we stayed, but you could drive of course if you have a car. If you don't have a car, I'm sure you could take public transport, we just didn't look into it because we were in the mood for a walk to get some light exercise. FYI - Some galleries allow photos (or at least don't have signs indicating that photos aren't allowed, and the person present where I took photos didn't try to stop me), and others clearly have signage posted that they don't, so be mindful if you're the picture-taking type and if in doubt, ask. Shout-out: Rae Miller's artwork is interesting, different from anything we'd seen before for an art technique (encaustic). She was in her studio working when we stepped in and took the time to get to know us briefly and share with us her general artistic process. She's an American expat living in San Miguel de Allende with her husband and cute dog, whom we also got to meet. :)
