Most dissapointing experience!!! Def not worth the price!!! (Even tho I looked for a cheap place with good reviews) Food was barely acceptable. The entry was honestly almost painful to look at. It was butter and sardine paste in mini packages (I thought they were pranking but I didn’t say anything) with fresh and previously served bread put together (which is not acceptable hygienic wise, I worked in a kitchen once I know exactly what these restaurants do). The main dish was okay but lacked LOTS of love (even tho they only served 2-3 tables at that time). The staff was very friendly but the restaurant didn’t list the prices for wine or any drinks. If I’m not wrong the restaurant charged more than said on the menu. It was one of the most ridiculous experiences and I’m terribly dissapointed. The Cod fish honestly was tasteless and just too salty. I ate much better at a much cheaper at a very sweet family business for under 26 euros which is half of what you’d pay here. Don’t get seduced by the many “recs/prices” at the entrance.

SCAM, AVOID, DISHONEST, PLEASE READ OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS. Worst experience in Lisbon. Went yesterday for dinner, wish we had have checked the reviews beforehand. Got seated quickly. A few people there already. Looks decent. There is bread on the table = FIRST SCAM, will add to your bill at the end. Presented cod croquettas thinking they are there to try or free. NO = another way of giving you something on your table and then adding a big price. NO WINE LIST - IN PORTUGAL = Next SCAM - we ordered two glasses of the house wine which equaled €12, RIP off. No prices are listed for the wine, NONE, absolutely dishonest. Salad was ok, it's hard to mess up salad. I got Sardines, very salty but ok. My partner was impressed with the octopus hence the two stars for the food. Seen the bill, they tried to include, bread at 3 euros which could have been sitting there all day as it was there before we sat down, tried to charge for the butter which we also didn't use. We said we are not paying for these and they quickly rubbed it off. €2.50 for a tiny water bottle, even expensive places in Lisbon charged a maximum €1.50. FINAL SCAM - I accept only cash even though there was a we accept cards sticker on the wall. PLEASE AVOID, don't let dishonest people like this become the standard.

This is a superb restaurant in the centre of Lisbon. Perched on the end of a street overlooking an adjacent road winding downwards, the restaurant serves excellently cooked, authentic Portuguese cuisine and has won a number of awards. We visited in June 2025 and chose to have dinner here, sitting outside on a table on the roadside. Despite the location of our table, it was easy to have a conversation and watch the life of Lisbon passing by. The food was delicious and freshly cooked to order and the prices were great too. The owner is very friendly and does speak other languages alongside native Portuguese. Highly recommended if you are visiting Lisbon.

The children are on vacation and have just arrived in Lisbon for their first day. Eager to explore, they immediately set out for dinner after setting down their luggage. They stumbled upon a quaint Portuguese restaurant, a choice spurred by curiosity and an adventurous palate. The ambiance was welcoming, with the smell of seasoned dishes wafting through the air, promising a savory experience. As they anticipated, the food was exceptionally delicious, exceeding their expectations and offering a perfect start to their holiday. The experience left them excited for what other culinary delights Lisbon had to offer.

Google
Incredibly good gem of a restaurant in a sea of average, touristy, overpriced, poor establishments. We had the octopus and the squid which were both perfectly cooked, the steak had a delicious flavour and barbecued sausages were great too. Good value for money but unfortunately it's cash only. Other reviewers have complained about having to pay for starters they didn't order, apparently this is a Lisbon thing, when the servers bring bread/olives/cheese to the table you just say you don't want them and they take them away again. Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a bit more authentic Portugal while based in this commercial neighbourhood.

Food was ok, the fish dishes had lots of small bones. The sides (potato and broccoli) were served almost cold. Service was very intrusive, the owner put all kinds of appatizers on the table for which we were charged without ever having asked for them. He also proposed to bring a salad for us to share before the main course to which we agreed but then he brought out a starter salad for each of us. Still very reasonable price for what we got, but we felt a bit tricked. Would not go here again.

Google
Traditional Portuguese restaurant with an authentic atmosphere, top quality products, surprising taste. The sheep's cheese is a must try, octopus and sardines super tasty, and DESSERT OF THE HOUSE incredible. I recommend it to everyone!

Google
Had the tuna steak and "creme brule" (was informed its a kind of similar dessert ut not actually creme brule) a small side salad, wine and coffee. They let me charge my phone and they were not intrusive or annoying just let me have a meal in peace with a great and fast service. Honestly one of the best meals ive had in Portugal. Not that the food was spectacular but it was very tasty, and good price too. Even the salad was tastier than i was expecting. It was just a friendly and warm vibe, not crowded and loud, just authentic and cosy. Wil go back tmw. (I dont get the bad reviews, nothing is free and many restaurants placethings on the table which they charge for later)

Yelp
Stumbled on Faca & Garfo my first afternoon in Lisbon. My friend and I were seated quickly and handed menus. She ordered a whole fish and I had a grilled tuna steak. We got a salad to share. The food came out and my meal and the salad were pretty underwhelming. No amount of salt made my potatoes taste like anything, but the tuna was well cooked and seasoned. The salad was just basic and I would have skipped ordering it if I'd known. The beer was ok. I feel this place is likely overpriced and overhyped given its awesome and central location. The staff was nice and helpful though, and that's something!

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner. I had the grilled tuna steak and it was the best I have ever had. The wife had salmon and my daughter the Brazilian steak and they both liked their meals. I had creme brulle for dessert and it was very good. The service was excellent with friendly staff. Be advised though they do not accept credit cards, cash only.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant located on top of a small hill; really clean, beautiful decorations, nice staff and the food is great. Even the portions are bigger than what you can find elsewhere. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Suggested by a nearby shopkeeper, so we gave it a try. Really enjoyed the help and humor of the staff, but the food was the star. Dishes were simple, fresh, well prepared and great value! Happy to recommend this place.

Yelp
We stumbled across this gem on the way to Bairro Alto and were not disappointed that we decided to stop and eat. The grilled sardines were fresh and tasty. The salad also very fresh. Staff polite and helpful when choosing the menu and helped order some goats cheese and bread. House "red" was ok. Happy to return at our next visit to Lisbon.

Yelp
Restaurant in the touristic center of Lisboa. So, it's very difficult to find a good restaurant. The main dishes are typical from there but not amazing in this restaurant and in small quantity. The staff is not kind. So my advice is to leave Lisboa center to try restaurant in Alfama which are very very good !

Yelp
Server/owner was quite unfriendly. Said there was WiFi and never gave us the password. Salmon was acceptable but sardines were difficult to eat. We refused the bread he brought. The wine was very underwhelming and was subpar. Didn't tip because the guy was such an ass.

Yelp
This is the second time we've been here, the first time was 4 years ago on a previous visit and we came back specifically looking for this restaurant because the grilled salmon was so good. It did not disappoint the second time either, the salmon is simply cooked, but the tastiest we've probably ever had. The white sangria we had wasn't very good, but everything else was. A simple, tasty, and reasonably priced dinner. Small place so reservations help.

Yelp
Every time I am in Lisbon I always end up back at Faca & Garfo because it is a place you can always count on to be fresh, good quality and perfectly Portuguese. They do homemade Portuguese, but stepped up a notch. Its a small place, so dont be offended if you end up sitting close to a neighbor. No worries, I always end up having a great conversation with the people next to me, whether they are locals or tourists. The service is always friendly and they have menu options in all languages (also the servers often speak many languages). Always a good bet in Lisbon.

Yelp
Excellent service. Wonderful food. Very reasonable price. Went there 2 nights in a row for dinner.

Yelp
I would certainly recommend this establishment as friendly to tourists and better than the average restaurant in central Lisbon. The menu was provided in multiple languages and the selection included many of the popular regional items. I had the steak and it was cooked to my liking. Wasn't sure if they were gonna charge for the bread so I ate it anyway. Easiest way to resolve a potentially awkward bill situation.

Yelp
Walking around Lisboa on our first visit two years ago, we had walked past Faca&Garfo but had not eaten there. This year, staying in an apartment very near and having read the reviews on yelp we decided to give it a try. We arrived at around 8 pm on a Friday. No vacant table on the ground floor and only few tables on the upper floor were vacant. Quickly a very friendly and multi-multi-lingual waitress (who during the evening proved to be very fast and efficient) took our orders. We ordered one dish of Lulas (fried squid) and one dish of Polvo (grilled octopus). Both were accompanied by broccoli and potatoes. The Lulas were very good and the Polvo was sensational. Our meal was accompanied by a big bottle of sparkling mineral walter (aqua com gaz), half a bottlo of Casal Garcia (Vinho verde) and one Bica (espresso) Total bill for two was EURO 32,50. Every cent worth the money - and an incentive to return on our next visit to this fabulous city.

Yelp
I really don't know how people give high rating to this place. Most likely different tastes. I don't want to be mean so I assume is difference of taste. By U.S taste and middle eastern taste, this was not the palace I eat again.
