This is a nice viewpoint. Stopped here on my way back to coos Bay. Really appreciate the restrooms here. They were nice and clean and very new and updated. The parking lot looked like it was freshly striped. If there wasn't as much wind, this would been a far more enjoyable. View stop for us but with two little ones under two there really wasn't much opportunity to take in the fuse. There's lots to see here and apparently a trail that leads down to the beach. As you can see, there's even some horseback riding that goes through this area which in and of itself is impressive. I love to come back and revisit this place when there's less wind. It's definitely worth checking out if you have not been there yourself

Google
Very scenic place with lots of neat rocks/boulders. Neat time to visit is during low tide so you can wander around the base of the rocks and see sea life in the tide pools

We were there on a perfect sunny day with the tide out so we could venture into the rock and check out the tide pools. Sea Stars, Sea Anemones, Crabs 🦀 and more.

This was so cool once it was explained to me which rock it was. It's the white colored rock in the back. Envision the left part as a forehead. It will look like a head tilted toward the sky. Maybe it should be called Head Rock.

Fair amount of parking, huge walking area at high or low tide. (Better at low tide to see starfish clinging to the bottoms of the rock formations). TWO wizard hat shaped rocks. Great view from the parking lot if you can’t go down the stairs. The sand was firm here which is easier for walking on. Kid friendly and dog friendly. There was a bathroom at this parking lot but I didn’t use it.

Google
Our favorite spot on the Oregon Coast for views! It is handicap accessible at the viewpoints. However, they do have stairs to walk down to the beach. The old town Bandon is a charming place to walk around and visit as well!

I was blessed to get the opportunity to visit today. The wind was strong, so the sand was moving & dancing on the beach, the light cloudy blanket moved swiftly, as if a silk dress slipping, and I had to tighten my green Jockey USA cap. Wife had to tilt my head to make me see it. I do require help time to time, I am slow. Strolled around a little, went through a couple of nuggets of information. Enjoyed spicy beans with rice, and little bit of apple pie. For which I have been complaining it's "too big", but I jump in always and gorgeous on it like an animal. Thank you Fred Meyers, for an amazing $6 pie. Enjoyed a smoke in the wind. Dumped the bud in the bin. Dazed and confused by the cleanliness of the restroom. Witnessed two ravens engaged in a conversation, saw myself and wife in them. While writing this, I am going back that "too big" pie..!!

Loved visiting the scenic place. Nice parking lot & walk around the upper part, along the fencing. One side has a set of stairs you can walk down to the beach. Restrooms in parking lot.

Yelp
Gorgeous! This was my first visit to any coastal area of Oregon or the northwest for that matter, so I realize there may be other sites that are just as good if not better. But, for me, someone used to the flat beaches of Florida, other Gulf of America beaches, SoCal, etc. on the mainland, this was a real treat for me. I loved watching seabirds muscle against, then soaring with the winds, blowing sand, vistas from various bluffs and well marked trails. I look forward to seeing more of the Oregon coast, but am glad to have experienced this one.

Yelp
Face Rock is a beautiful viewpoint to see the ocean, as well as, the sea stack called the Face Rock. There were many informative displays but I didn't see one showing the face in the Face Rock. The story behind the name is from a legend from the Coquille Indian Tribe names the face in the rock, which forever gazes at the sky, as that of Ewauna, Princess of the Nah-So-Mah tribe and daughter of Chief Siskiyou. This helps explain and makes it easier to see the face laying down. I definitely recommend visiting the Face Rock a Scenic Viewpoint. It's a beautiful place.

Yelp
With sooooo very many scenic viewpoints along the Southern Oregon coast, marked and otherwise, it's hard to keep track of which is which as you tour the area! So how to remember this one, well, besides the sorta-kinda face shaped rock? For me it was the not-so-faced shaped rocks around it. It IS just another pretty spot, but this stop might've had the coolest and most unique grouping of rock formations along the corridor.

Yelp
Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint or otherwise known as Face Rock Wayside offers a 180 degree panoramic vantage point of the sweeping Oregon coastline. Located in Bandon, OR - the "city by the sea", you can visit Face Rock while driving north or south on Highway 101. Cathedral Rock is the noticeable focal point. It appeared to be the largest of all the boulders resting upon the shore. And once you capture a few moments standing at this Face Rock observation lookout, it's only fitting to walk the pathway down to the beach. Then you have unlimited time at your disposal wandering along the sand, soaking up the fresh air and taking in that classic southern Oregon setting. When I first visited Face Rock, the coastline was muddled with dreary dense fog. By the time I left 2 hours later, the skies had cleared and showcased clearer perspectives. That's how fast the weather can change spending time on the coast. You can swim in the beach waters, but I noticed a lot of people were playfully climbing the rocks and taking family photos. Bandon Beach is unique offering chances to sort of create your own adventure. And especially for someone like myself who's from the east coast of Florida. I rarely see giant rocks like these. It was a refreshing change of pace from what I'm used to. Overall, Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is a worthwhile roadside stop. Before returning to Highway 101 wherever you're next destination may be, two miles away is charming Old Town Bandon which is good for light window shopping and grabbing a bite to eat.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. We were so excited to arrive here as whenever we have visited in the past, it is always raining so we have never had the opportunity to walk on this beach until Today! We were staying right next door and we had our own walkway down to the beach. The rocks are huge and you feel pretty small when you are standing next to them. So beautiful though and they just make the beach look that much more appealing. We took so many pictures too. I wish it would have been sunny but I will settle for overcast. We took our time taking in all the beauty of the gorgeous Oregon coast including the flowers, small shells, rock tunnels, and all the unique birds. There are over 300 species of migratory birds that live here. We had to get up close to Face Rock itself and yes you can see the outline of the Princess Ewanua's face. She was Princess of the Nah-So-Mah tribe. Legend says that you can hear her voice in the wind. There are restrooms, picnic tables and if you don't want to walk down to the beach, there are viewing areas that you can just stand and take it all in. I highly recommend a stop here.

Yelp
I don't know how we "legitimately" rate a scenic viewpoint. I can tell you, though, that this is one of my favorite beaches in the world. I've walked in many. The rocks, and flowers, cliffs, and occasional circles in the sand make this place truly magical. There is parking but it fills up early. The steps down to the water are well maintained and the toilets were provisioned.

Yelp
My Aunt lives up here in Bandon, and this is about a mile from her house. We stopped here for a couple minutes to get some pictures of Face Rock. Once you see it and can make it out, it's so cool! You can walk down on the beach, or stay up here at the viewpoint to get some nice pictures. The beaches are so different up here compared to down in Southern CA. Lots of rocks and driftwood and colder waters. Absolutely beautiful!

Yelp
We stopped here after a late start and big breakfast. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this beach. There is a bigger concentration of notable rocks and geographic forms here than anywhere else we visited on our trip up the coast. You can enter this beach from two separate access points on Beach Loop Road and we parked at one then walked to the other. Afterwards, we walked along the road which offered sweeping views on the beach we just explored below. This town is so cool with the small houses that dot the coastline. This beach would be a great place to visit with kids or your dog. It was very windy and covered in debris (driftwood) when we visited in early September but was much less crowded than other places we visited on this trip. If you are in Bandon, definitely stop here to explore!

Yelp
This is a very scenic and photogenic viewpoint (in good weather). We've stopped here a few times when in the area and sometimes get a few good images. Love the Oregon coast. Parking could be an issue in the Summer months although we've never had a problem. Great place to take a break from driving, take a few pictures and perhaps enjoy a picnic lunch.

Yelp
Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint is a state park located in Bandon, Oregon. There is an indian legend about this location. Some say they can see Princess Ewanua's face on the rock looking upwards towards the heavens, and some even hear her voice in the wind. In 1931, J. F. Kronenberg of Bandon donated the land to the state. Today this area is part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge and administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Home to 300 species of migratory birds. Face Rock State Viewpoint has a parking lot, picnic tables, viewing areas, restrooms, and a stairway step trail leading down to the beach. Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge includes all the rock formations and tidel flats along the coast. A must visit if in the area.

Yelp
Really cool! Located in Bandon, Oregon this is a must see. The legend that I was told was that this is the face of an American Indian who wandering on the beach with her kittens. One of the Gods fell in love with her and changed her into the rock. Her kittens are the rock next to her. I could be wrong, but a local told me this story. This is such a beautiful stop. Parking and easy access to the rock. We loved it.

Yelp
If you are visiting Bandon, you absolutely MUST SEE Face Rock! It was so much fun reading the legend and then seeing it in person. So cool! You can view Face Rock from up above (by the parking lot) or take a walk down the steps to the beach. The beach offers tons of opportunities to explore beach caves and view all the formations up close. Plus, if you go to the beach in the morning, you might even catch the very cool, Circles in the Sand.

Yelp
Oh! It was so cold and windy, but worth the stop for the sunset and the view. Parking was easy and we will be back for sure.
