Im surprised by the good reviews. I chose this place based on the photos, especially since it looked nice. I was so disappointed.
1. Service - The elderly man at the front desk was extremely curt towards me, I thought maybe customer service in Argentina was like that until I saw him laughing and chatting with another white lady just fine. I am not white, so maybe that was the reason? I was a bit shocked honestly. Also all other customer service people have been so polite in this country, so knocking off a point there.
2. Outdated - the rooms are extremely outdated, and EXTREMELY TINY. I barely had place to move around, and I was using the room by myself. The bathroom was also not great, shower was rusted. The toilet was super weird too (you have to pull a tab and make sure it goes back exactly, or it will leak all night) Based on other people's photos, it seems like I was placed in an unrenovated room. I hated staying in the room, and avoided being here as much as possible.
3. Temperature - You cant control the temp in the room, which means you will either be too cold or too hot (I was too cold the first night, then too hot the 2nd) depending on what the setting is.
4. Lack of outlets - There arent enough outlets in the room, I had to unplug the lamp.
5. Window view - looked out into another wall of a building and the window was dirty.
6. Cleanliness - Found multiple hairs in the shower.
Breakfast was decent, had a lot of protein options, and everybody at breakfast was really polite. The eggs were really good (minus the shell I chomped on). It was annoying that everything has to be asked vs a buffet (guessing it is a cost saving measure), even the water! Breakfast would get tiring after 2 days though, they don't swap out the menu.
Overall, I know this place is cheap, but had I known, I would have paid more and gone elsewhere. This is coming from a person that stayed in multiple hostels. Don't be fooled by the photos.
