YUMAN

Given the many choices Paris offers concerning places to eat dinner, choosing the place to settle can be quite the challenge. Luckily the Fork helped us out with an amazing deal. At first caution is advised when deals seem too good to be true, however, we were pleasantly surprised by the food, atmosphere and charming server (and probably owner). In regards to the actual dinner, the food consisted of classics presented in a modern way whilst also offering some newer dishes. Luckily this restaurant understood the importance of A-grade ingredients as simple recipes were very tasteful. Given the size of Paris, accessibility is very important as well. Given that there is a metro station just across the street, reaching Yuman should give little issues even when situated in the centre like we were. In our eyes, the owner and staff of Yuman understood the message of what good food and service meant and thus we could absolutely recommend this restaurant!

The waitstaff was very courteous and happy to accommodate French or English. The drinks were are standouts and very refreshing. It was easy to enjoy our conversation and our food. I highly recommend the cucumber gazpacho. Excellent! We ordered different dishes and enjoyed them immensely. Thank you for a fresh and delicious meal! I’d definitely come again.

Very healthy and tasty food. They use only biological ingredients. I find their prices are quite expensive compared to other places I know.

A great place to visit for both lunch and dinner. I’m a big fan of their ethos on using fresh, simple and organic ingredients. Dishes are plated fast but with careful attention which makes this an ideal spot for business lunches if time is a factor. Staff is both friendly and attentive. Yuman stands out from the other restaurants in the area by offering a hip mix of modern and rustic interior, great tasting home made food and a friendly atmosphere. They also offer paperless menus! Highly recommended!

As someone who isn't really into vegan and organic restaurants, I gotta say I really loved the food here, good portions and the price was reasonable

Overrated. Not tasty. Small portions. Expensive. Only one waitress. Who is rude, and sad in her life. Do yourself a favor and just go elsewhere (the Creole restaurant closeby is way better)

This was my first time at this restaurant and I'm a little skeptical of organic, sustainable fare, but I ordered the Pork Ribs and they were out of this world. They were so juicy and flavorful. The mashed sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts gave just the right balance to sweet, tanginess of the pork. It was beautifully presented with the sweet potatoes serving as a bed and sprinkled lightly with cinnamon. I started with the pumpkin soup which was the perfect starter in a cold day. My friends enjoyed the Daahl which they enjoyed immensely. There is also a great selection of organic wines which also surprised me. Leave room for dessert as the tiramisu was outstanding. It was not too sweet or heavy just delicious. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. They were also kind about speaking English when I didn't understand an item. Super attentive and the restaurant owner greeted us when we arrived, check on us at each course and made sure we were satisfied at the end. It feels like a neighborhood place with a globally inspired menu. The food is so good. You'll forget it's healthy and organic! The ambiance was lively but still quiet enough to enjoy our conversation easily. There's a great energy with the patrons and staff. I've been to a lot of restaurants in Paris but few have an authentic neighborhood feel. Yuman does. If you're in Paris, I highly recommend you head to Yuman. It's super convenient--only about 300 feet from the Bibliothèque François Mitterand métro.

Sweet staff with lovely food. On our first day in Paris not knowing the drill, we showed up at Yuman at 11am for an early "lunch." Staff literally ran to a boulangerie for bread to serve us for the traditional Parisian breakfast of bread with butter and jam. The apricot jam they served was truly the best jam I have ever had. They graciously let us linger (and eat again :) ) through their busy actual lunch period (we stayed past 1:30pm) while we waited for our last companion. Everything was fresh and yummy. One of us is dairy-free and ordered such a dish, all of which are well-marked. It did come with large chunks of hard cheese that we didn't ask about; she just picked them out. It's possible they were sheep or goat's cheese - very delicious to those of us that happily took them from her! Nice to find such a kind, fresh and delicious place while we were still getting our bearings!

It's perfect! We're from Northern California and this is how we love to eat. Fresh, wholesome, homemade, organic, and super friendly. Diverse menu based on what is locally in season. Their fresh basil pesto is dreamy and the whole grain breads are great (not tasteless like some can be). Decent wine list, fair prices for organic, nice patio, and right next to the Bibliotheque Francois Mitterand Metro stop. Bon appetite!
