Disappointing experience due to both declining food quality and unacceptable customer service. The signature Chicken Tandoori was overly saturated with artificial red dye, staining my hands and indicating poor preparation. The service was the worst part: staff were rude, offered no basic greetings, and were completely opaque about pricing. We were charged an exorbitant $3.50 for a small 350ml water bottle and a hidden $2 extra for a small side of yogurt sauce that was served without prior notification of the charge. The payment process lacked basic courtesy—staff simply keyed in the amount without stating the bill total or offering a "thank you." I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Hands down best restaurant in Enmore! The Rawalpindi express would be proud :) My favourite is the lamb biryani with garlic cheese naan but there is not a bad dish in the place! Lamb Karahi is great too. No matter the meat the curries and spices are the highlight. Awesome place be nice to them

This used to be a great place for food. Now it is probably one of the worst restaurants in Newtown. Very sad to see it's demise. Both of my recent meals here have been shockingly bad. I went back hoping they'd improved, but if anything, they have got worse. Selling a paneer dish and then presenting an unappetising dark brown sauce with a dusting of paneer flakes on the top is pathetic. Literally a bowl of sauce. My recommendation: Avoid.

Had a mean feed here with the boys ,even though they are regulars, they said the food has gone down hill. The brains was a flavourful dish, garlic naan not bad, biryani is okay but is lacking, the tandoori chicken flavour is okay. I still liked it but still doesn't beat the desi food in Wentworthville.

Google
This is my favourite restaurant in Sydney. High quality food and staff are very attentive and provide exceptional customer service. Very fresh food. Best naan bread in Australia. You will not regret coming here! I always visit here every time I visit Sydney. This restaurant needs a gold star.

This place used to be really good for their pakistani bbq range. our recent experience with them was below par. We ordered tandoori chicken, lahori fish fry, brain masala, chicken karahi, and naan. The tatse of the food was missing its usual touch. Chicken karahi was tasteless. Lahori fish was less in quantity for $18. Brain masala was alright. the only thing that was decent was their tandori chicken. This place has to up their game cause Sydney has alot more places with much better taste and serving sizes. Our total bill was $85 for just 4 items and they don't take card payment so be ready to go with cash or else you'll need to pay with the surcharge from the atm at their place. Overall, I don't recommend this place for your pakistani cravings! Visit Auburn, punchbowl, lakemba or any other place.

I think the owner doesn't care about the rating any more. When I asked, from the whole menu they have what is made fresh, he said everything. In my humble experience, this is not possible to cook every day 20 plus dishes anyhow. He further said we are established for 30 years. Food wise: ordered Nahari, Biryani, brain masala, Haleem and kababs. I will start with best, Nahari, good try but it lacks in many ways, meat was not as soft as normally It should be. Biryani: disaster, insult of Biryani Haleem: same issue Kabab: the worst, directly frozen to flame approach leaves the kabab not as hot at core as outside. Not the best method for a 30 years old establishment. The journey to find the best restaurants continues...

Here's my honest review of this place. 1. The food: tandoori chicken is clearly it's strong point. Absolutely delicious! The biryani and mutton nihari? Not so much. The biryani was incredibly mediocre and lacked fundamental seasoning, while the nihari was essentially oil soup (but the meat in it was actually good). 2. The menu is not designed for a single person to eat. There are so many options and yet in order to get a taste of 2 or more dishes, you'll probably end up with huge portions and wasting a lot of it. The staff have no real recommendations and could not evaluate what's enough and what's not. 3. This place accepts is cash only, with an atm conveniently placed within the restaurant, which (of course) attracts a $2.5 fee. It is truly unbelievable that the owners don't realise that this indeed is a form of scam. 4. The food is actually quite expensive. One person, and I ate almost all of it. The bill was $39. What? 5. The service needs serious work. Once you're served, that's it. You can leave. The table didn't have enough napkins, and the waiters didn't care as my order was done. 6. The exterior of the place is confusing. I thought they were closed, until someone passing by showed me the entrance. Also, the interior has a bathroom/kitchen design. It gives the place a feel of being cheap, but then you see the surprise in the menu. Anyway, if you're absolutely craving tandoori chicken, this is your place. But otherwise, I wouldn't bother.

Yelp
Don't let the looks be deceiving... The food is amazing. I've only had Indian twice before and was hesitant but i let my friend order and i liked everything i was serviced. It was also reasonably priced! Love!

Yelp
The best Pakistani and Indian Restaurant I've ever had! The food is so good I don't really care about everything else. So, what's so good about it, I hear you ask? Every food has the right amount of spice that kicks you as you eat them but not overwhelming. Be warned, their food is spicy, some are mild and some are really kicking. Their Chicken Kharai I always come back here for is full of flavour and it's really spicy, eat it best with Garlic Naan to mop up all those curry goodness. Try the Mango Chicken if you're not a chilli eater, it's mild and unlike any mango chicken I tasted, I can really taste the mango on this dish and they topped it with slivered almonds for texture. If you come here for the first time, you have to try their Tandoori Chicken, it's tender and tasty. Then on the next visit be more adventurous and try their other dishes, like the Shish Kebab or Nahari. Then wash it all down with Mango Lassi. Yum!

Yelp
I walked in thinking this would be a 4-star review and boy was I disappointed. I'm glad Dr. Skorpio wasn't with me as I would have had a lot of 'splaining to do. The main reason for the two star review is that I got charged $20 for butter chicken, basmati rice and one plain naan. What a rip-off! I ate in for this meal - not sure if that meant higher prices. The serve of butter chicken was not that generous and looked more than what it was due to the large amount of sauce. The dish was a little spicy and more tangy than creamy. The naan was fresh and hot out of the tandoor but I found that it dried out very quickly which made it crusty and chewy. Yes yes yes, I know some restaurants charge upwards of $20 for a butter chicken dish alone and some places charge $16 for takeaway. So I did think afterwards that maybe the cost was due to having eaten in instead of ordering take-away. But then I would expect that the serve of chicken should have been larger. And yes, perhaps ordering something else on the menu, ordering the dishes that are the house specialties would have made this a better experience, but alas, I didn't. I had a butter chicken craving. So if you are seeking a budget friendly rendition of butter chicken with rice, or the north indian westernised creamy version of this dish, looks elsewhere. Maybe I should head over to Harris Park where I hear they have some amazing Indian restaurants.

Yelp
Hmm I found this a mixed bag and gave this a 3 rating based on a few things. This place was recommended to me by a Pakastani friend as one of the most authentic places to try plus the food is delicious. I do agree with the others the service is so so. The girl working there probably wasn't the friendliest (the guys are much better). We ordered the garlic naan (I've had better), the goat curry (this was def delicious), the famous Lahori Fish Fry - this was served cold to us. Upon telling the staff I think it was microwaved then given back to us, although the spices were nice, better if it was fresh fried I think (is this how it's meant to be served?? I could be mistaken about this point), Garlic Chicken Tandoori (this was ok), Mango Lassi (ok). Ticked this off my list but don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Yelp
Faheem's is what you need when tasty, quick, no fuss Indian and Pakistani food is what you're after. Apart from the naan maker next to the window, there's really not much for attempted atmosphere in this simple curry house. But that is exactly what makes the atmosphere of Faheem's ... Everyone is there for one reason: the food. It's relatively cheap and delicious, and while I would say that for the price the portions could be a bit larger, it's definitely not a bad option if you're craving tandoori on the way home one night. My partner had the tandoori chicken ($10 for two pieces), and we split palak dal and palak paneer (both around $11). Both boasted both lovely flavors, but neither were mind boggling .. The garlic naan ($2.50) was delicious and huge and if I would return for anything, it would definitely be that! It's open until midnight which makes Faheem's a great option if you haven't had anything for dinner and have nothing in the fridge. I can't say I'd recommend you seek it out, but I definitely wouldn't recommend against passing it by.

Yelp
Don't expect vibes or service here, but the food is pretty authentic. We ordered chicken briyani and butter chicken (yes, I know this one isn't really traditional, but what can you do when you just want it!). We also had the garlic and cheese nans and papadums. I wished I had ordered the boneless chicken tandori as I had food envy of the table next to us. My chicken briyani was great, but I wish there was more meat in my chicken. The garlic and cheese nan was nice because they have the cheese inside the nan so it's all melty and gooey. Though mild in terms of heat spiciness, there's still a kick to these 2 dishes, so next time I'd prolly order a side of yoghurt mint to balance it out.

Yelp
A couple of months back I was fortunate enough to stumble across this little gem of a restaurant. At first glance, the restaurant does not appear to be much. The decor is very simply, the floor is tiled with very plain tiles, and there is no effort to clutter the walls with artwork or artifacts from the subcontinent. The restaurant has more in common with a diner. The purpose of the place is not to provide an ambiance that you could lose yourself in, rather it's purpose is to provide you with an honest meal for an honest price. Upon making your way into the restaurant, you are given the option of eating in or take way. Should you choose to eat in, you will be directed towards a table that is very spartan in appearance. You will be provided with the menu, cutlery and water, should you want a beverage from the fridge you are expected to help yourself to the cooler and pay for it upon the conclusion of your meal. Once you have had time to go through the menu, the staff will obtain your order. The staff are sincere and friendly, however given the pace in which the restaurant operates, it is understandable that they can be very matter a fact. The food is from India, and spice is a standard feature in the majority of the meals provided. Please keep this fact in mind when attending this restaurant. The food on offer includes Lamb Dopiaza, tandoori chicken, Bheja-fry, naan breads, eggplant and potato curry, mixed dhal, and lamb kharai. Without going into a comprehensive list, I must add that the restaurant does provide vegetarian options and lamb, chicken, and fish dominate the meat option dishes. As indicated earlier, the service is fast and to the point, moreover the food is hot in temperature and noticeably well spiced and leading towards fiery in taste. Faheem's Indian Fast Food Restaurant is a clean and efficient establishment that is very consistent in their quality, service, and freshness of food. I do recommend this place highly.

Yelp
This place is the real deal! It's not much of a setting but that is the appeal. Faheems is about the food - especially the tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken is superb - it looks like it has the potential to be a bit dry but proved to be gloriously tender. The service isn't great but I don't think I was expecting otherwise. E.g. I was attempting to be slightly healthy and ordered a plain naan but got served a garlic cheese one anyway! This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it was delicious and not too greasy. I'll definitely be back to try the tandoori fish and the curries!

Yelp
To be honest I can't remember everything we ordered (my friend ordered for us). It was my first time there but I can honestly say every dish we had was super good and I think we had at least 5 different dishes. But I do remember the tandoori chicken! That was worth the visit alone! Highly recommended!

Yelp
There's a reason Faheem's is generally pretty packed full. It's the tasty, authentic food served in record time. Everything's cooked fresh (the naan straight from the tandoor is fantastic), and the menu includes quite a few traditional bits and pieces which you won't find in the bain-marie's of the other Indian takeaways around. Having said that, I'd describe the decor as "hoseable" which while practical, lacks a bit of ambience. Head in for a no-nonsense, speedy Indian or Pakistani feed when you're not in the mood for candlelight or loitering.

Yelp
I thought extremely tasty Indian food at reasonable prices was hard to find in Sydney until I walked into Faheems. To be honest I would have opted for another restaurant by the looks of this place, but decided to give a try based on reviews. And let me tell you, I'm sure glad I did. The food is fresh, tasty and plentiful. For an average of $10 you get a big bowl of curry with lots of meat. The naan bread for a couple of bucks is scrumptious. The lighting in this place is as bright as bright can be, and you'll feel like you're eating in a dodgy cafeteria, but don't let that take away from a wonderfully prepared meal. In saying that, you may be dissapointed in the ambience but you won't be disappointed in the food!

Rabia K.

Yelp
Worst experience ever! The food is not even close to the Pakistani taste! Food was served in 100 years old plastic plates full of scratches. Disgusting! Biryani tasted like a bland version of Pulao and the Nihari was full of oil with zero taste. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Not seeing me again for sure.

Virenn S.

Yelp
We went there on friend's recommendation To start with staff is not friendly but not too bad price are very reasonable ok so here it is we order brain masala, naan, lahori fish, and lamb biryani Order arrive in blink of an eye (means meals were all premade not cooked fresh) Straight away we got brain masala & birtani thrown at the table like no introduction of it what so ever. brain masala needs to be eaten with naan so we had to let food go cold until we received naan which was very fresh btw & tiny drop butter on it which could only covered 10% or may be 5% of naan area FYI it makes very dry to eat if enough butter is not spread on the naan. Move on to brain masala which was good Biryani was the main reason we went there and let me tell u the worse biryani I ever had I don't have words to explain my disappointment :( And wait we never got the Lahori fish & they were charging us for it until we told we never got the fish :( 2*

Yelp
I have eaten at Faheem maybe thirty times. I think they are one of the better Indian restaurants in Sydney and a great choice for the price. I highly recommend the Haleem "King of Currys". It was featured on Food Safari and is extraordinary. Why only three stars John? Well, the problem is lately the food has been inconsistent. The last two times the chicken tikka was undercooked and the next day both my wife and I had severe indigestion. Very frustrating.

Yelp
You come to Faheem's for the closest thing to authentic Indian/Pakistani food in Sydney. It's decor is equal to a truck stop in Asia somewhere. The service is pretty awful too. But the food is really really good. We had the Lahori Fish Fry which was so good we asked for a second platter to be brought out. Chicken curry, palak paneer, dahl makhani, lamb biryani, aloo matar and countless other dishes were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was that spicy, and I would have prefered more heat, but the flavors were rich and delicious. A mountain if naan came alongside - they were really good. Decor is what it is - no real complaints there. I just wish the service was more attentive.

Rob P.

Yelp
Went here based on others reviews & wow it was worth it.. The food is some of the most authentic indian I have had outside of india. Yes the place doesnt look flash ( infact i had walked past a couple of times & thought no way.. but I was wrong ) A great array of dishes including some great vego and lamb. the naan is fresh & hot and boy is the service fast. we ordered 3 dishes, a rice & naan and we couldnt eat it all between 2 people a must if you like authentic indian flavours not just coloured slop in a bucket like so many other places.
google avatar

Ambrose R.

Yelp
The most Lahori experience you will have in Sydney. Fabulous food, full of flavour and decor (or lack thereof) that makes you feel like you're in south Asia. The only thing holding me back from giving 5 stars is the price, which isn't quite as cheap as you'd expect. But when your food and reputation is this good you charge what you can, and $30 a head for an absolute mountain of food and bread is not excessive. I will be back.

Yelp
Authentic and reasonably priced North Indian and Pakistani food. Being an Indian myself am usually a hard critic when it comes to indian food, but Faheems delivers on taste. The Naan is soft with a dollop of butter on top and freshly baked. Their tandoori chicken and lamb lentils is pretty good. My husband is a fan of the brain curry but I steer clear of all things offal, he orders it every time and gets one packed for later in the week as well. Their chicken biryani is tantalizingly tasty packed with spices and flavour..They don't go easy on the spices so go there if you like spicy food and you will love it. The ambience is basic with an old Delhi feel to it. Why three stars well the ambience and service can do with a lot of overhauling but I guess that's not their focus.

Al K.

Yelp
Loved this place; a hole in the wall. We ordered chicken biryani, chicken Karhai, and nihari with garlic naans. Everything was very delicious and authentic. I recommend it to anyone who likes to experience Pakistani food. This is not a fancy restaurant and service could be better. But again, I am only interested in good taste, and I will come back again.

Uni A.

Yelp
Crap food - used to be good - daal makhni was actually red lentil, food was overcooked and burnt - when we informed the owner, he said that is how they cook the food - whattt?? they must be kidding... Food used to be good earlier but has become worst...
google avatar

Yassin G.

Yelp
The best tandoor around! Misleading name though, as Faheem and the gang generally just operate at regular restaurant pace. Meanwhile, why the hell doesn't this place deliver?!

Sheeraz A.

Yelp
Good food. Average service. Sitting ares bit congested. I like fried fish and brain masala. Price is just reasonable.
