First time in picked up the Italian Hero and some fresh mozzarella. I can’t even begin to describe how good this was. While I would describe myself as lover of Italian hero subs sandwich this one was spot on and the bread was perfect no ripping up the roof of your mouth. The lettuce had a perfect skinny shred and it wasn’t too wet. Perfect vinegar and oil ration. It’s gonna be hard to beat this one. And so far this week I have had a French baguette sandwich and a pub sub and it only Thursday 🤣 I split this with the husband so the price is relative to the portion can’t wait to try everything on the menu. Looking forward to the patio and dining in with my dog they said they are pet friendly. 👍🏻👍🏻

Google
It was my first time here and can't wait to return. We ordered the mozzarella sticks - the best I've had. The marinara that came with it was flavorful. I got the Italian Sub and my husband got the Chicken Parm Sub. Both huge portions and tasty. We both left with leftovers... that we ate as soon as we got home. There's plenty of seating outdoor in a covered area with lots of fans or you can order take out. They also have a refrigerator of prepared foods you can purchase to take home...including their fresh mozzarella.

No one does it better than Ed and his crew. Eating at Faicco’s takes you right back to Bleeker Street in the city! There’s only one place to go when you are looking for a hero in the Sarasota area. I usually get the Classic Hero or Eggplant Prosciutto Hero, but this time I got the Italian. 10/10!

Food was plentiful. Fries were delicious. Steak and cheese with onions was a good size and pretty good. They sell flavored ice and home made sausages

Google
OMG! Best Hero/sub/hoagie in the area. Fresh sausage, fresh sliced meats. Homemade cannolis with pastries flown in from Sicely and filling made fresh. My hero was the chicken cutlet with cheddar and bacon with avocado. The bread is flown in from Jersey! This is the real deal. Owners are amazing! This is a small deli, so patience is key. Outside eating only, but the delightful taste of the sandwich will take away any heat!

Google
Excellent place to grab a fresh Italian sub or any one of the other amazing sandwiches they make. I'll keep coming back to try each sub/hero and the variety of Italian sodas and ices. Nice vibe, ample outdoor seating as well, great staff. Highly recommend.

Google
Food was ok. Ordered a Philly cheese steak and it was good but it took about 20 minutes for me to get it. And IT COST 20 BUCKS!!!! that's the reason for the 2 stars, for 20 bucks this sandwich better have me euphoric and I better get it quicker then 20 minutes since it's not a hard sandwich to make. Service was cool as far as the lady up front, but the kid making the sandwich was looking at his phone, talking to his sister and just not paying attention. But what gets me MOST is the fact that the only 2 prices for their sandwiches are 16 and 18. Which comes out to about 20 after taxes. That is absolutely insane, this place is not for the everyday working man, it's for the more wealthy. Decent sandwich though.

Google
Imported from Brooklyn, NY, 🇮🇹 Faicco's makes THE BEST Italian heros/subs and beyond in Sarasota County. I had a chicken cutlet with broccoli rabe and mozzarella hero last week that was off the charts! Today I ordered the chicken cutlet parmigiana hero and it was PHENOMENAL! SO tasty! And they pack these sandwiches! They also sell fresh mozzarella, homemade Italian sausage and other goodies. You gotta check this place out. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
If you're hunting for a place that delivers on big flavor and cozy charm, Faicco's Sandwich Shop is a must-visit. Tucked away like a true hole-in-the-wall gem, it radiates that old-school Italian vibe, complete with warm, welcoming family hospitality. I kicked off the meal with their rice balls, and let me tell you--perfection. Golden and crisp on the outside, creamy and cheesy on the inside, they hit every mark. The cheese pull? Absolutely next level. For the main event, I dove into the Italian sandwich, and wow--this one's a standout. The bread had just the right crunch while still being soft inside, perfectly hugging layers of the finest meats. Every bite was a mix of savory, fresh, and satisfying. But the real star for me was the Chicken Fra Diavolo sandwich. Picture tender, crispy chicken smothered in their house-made vodka sauce, topped with gooey, fresh mozzarella that stretches like a dream. It's rich, spicy, cheesy, and everything a sandwich should aspire to be. While I didn't save room for dessert, Faicco's more than made up for it with an experience that feels like stepping into an Italian family kitchen--unpretentious, authentic, and brimming with flavor. Would I come back? 100%. Whether you're a foodie or just hungry, Faicco's makes you feel at home with every bite. Don't sleep on this spot!

Yelp
BAMN! Best Italian subs I've had here since New York. Absolutely delicious, EVERYTHING about it was fresh and sooo tasty! I got the Chicken Cutlet w/Prosciutto, Fresh Mozzarella and Pesto on a sesame seed Italian sub roll. EVERYONE was amazingly friendly and engaged in conversation when possible. I went in about 1:30pm on a Wednesday and only had 1 person in front of me. It is what it is! A sandwich shop that has amazing food, even take-home! There was also seating outside. Every place I looked was clean and I CAN'T WAIT to go back and try EVERYTHING on the menu. I can't believe that I've lived here for 7 years and never even heard about them. They are now COMPLETELY on my radar and I will recommend to anyone!

Yelp
Delicious as usual. Second time having their eggplant parmigiana dish, take h in e and heat up. Will always come here!

Robert C.

Yelp
Food is without question, excellent. Lots of sandwich choices, with fresh breads, and a slew of Italian combinations. The service is as good as can be expected in an incredibly busy deli. Seating is outside and comfy but can be a bit hot in a Florida summer. This is a great grab and go spot, and the sandwiches are fantastic. Go!

Kiley R.

Yelp
Takeout from Faicco's- hot heroes made it 40 minutes home and still hot and fresh. Service is always friendly and Eddie the owner is in there working hard! So lucky to have a great New York style deli in the area- their original location is in Manhattan, NY so this is such a treat here in SRQ!

Mark J.

Yelp
Okay place. The sandwiches are much too big. Went once and haven't been back, it's just too much to eat. Zero atmosphere, you eat outside in the parking lot. No service, you get it yourself.

Jack B.

Yelp
$44.00 for a submarine sandwich and pastrami sandwich!!!! Ouch. The pastrami sandwich was oozing grease and came with inedible soggy fries. Absolutely ridiculous. We DO NOT recommend.

Patricia L.

Yelp
Hmm not sure what happened to the bread? It's not as fresh and crunchy as it normally is. Hope the original recipe/baker/supplier returns. I couldn't get past not having crunchy bread

Kim R.

Yelp
Great food! Easy take out, but what's up with the limited hours? How do people stay in business? Anyway, I hope Faicco's does!! Thank you

Ceecee Y.

Yelp
Beyond thrilled that my favorite sandwich shop in New York opened up a second location in Sarasota. The sandwiches are HUGE (enough for two meals or three). My favorite is the Italian Hero. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Taylor J.

Yelp
This place knows how to make some amazing food. This was my third time here and I've never been disappointed. From the meatball sub to the Cuban... they never miss. The Italian ice is top tier. The customer service is so friendly. Perfect place for a world class sandwich. Perfect shady area to eat with lots of fans so it never gets hot. 10/10 amazing

Holleh P.

Yelp
Eggplant Parm and chicken parm Sub very good! Love the French bread and the breaded eggplant was just right. Only can finish half since the sandwich is plenty for two to eat !

Rog D.

Yelp
Subs are substantial, hard to eat all at once, but delicious. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I didn't see a sausage's part on the menu, but it hey made on up with a choice of sweet or mild. Good spot.

Sheila F.

Yelp
The hubby and I went to Faicco's for a lunch date. We shared the roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone on a seeded roll & rice balls. Everything was delicious. The sandwich was pricey but HUGE. We very much enjoyed our lunch.

arlene d.

Yelp
I was so excited about this sandwich it was so heavy and so big. They had put a little mustard on it no mayo and very heavy on the pepper no oregano and only oil I was getting was from the peppers it needed that extra moisture of oil and vinegar and mayo to bring it all together and not be so dry We did get the rice balls and they were very good

Art C.

Yelp
Hefty sandwich Today was my first visit to Faicco's. With so many positive thoughtful reviews, this must be a surefire winner. I already knew the layout from when it was the hot dog place, so I headed in and ordered at the counter. Great interactions while I quickly looked at the overhead menu and ordered their Italian Hero and quickly changed to their Spicy Italian Hero. I paid, they gave me my drink and a number to place on my table, and I went outside. They have lots of tables and there are very big fans to help keep it more comfortable in the summer heat. Even though it's only April. My hefty sandwich was brought out, cut in two halves. One half was enough for me, I'll join the chorus of two meal sandwiches. I might have been able to pull it off, but I really had no need to. Initially I thought the sandwich was dry. I'm used to Italian subs being drenched in oil and vinegar, and this sandwich had little oil and I didn't taste any vinegar. After a while I appreciated tasting other flavors, including whatever made it spicy. Anyway, steeped in history, I'm going to assume they know exactly how this NYC sandwich should be and I'm just a happy passenger.

Patutti P.

Yelp
Ordered Italian Hero. Took one bite and something tasted rotten. Took the meat off and ate the cheese. The next morning I had food poisoning. I don't know if they use Boars Head deli meats or not, but I will never eat there again. This happened about a month ago.

Rony S.

Yelp
Honestly I'm a Sandwhich fiend, I love sandwiches and subs and paninis. But this place the sandwiches had no love, no flavor, nothing. They tasted like bread with something in the middle for texture. The service is very abrupt and not entirely polite I'd say. The place is mostly to go orders and outdoor seating. I truly wanted to like this place, but like I said lack of flavor left me and my friends wanting more. All of us had to use hot sauce to give the sandwich flavor. Which is shocking because the prices on these sandwiches was not cheap. Many were above $12-15 each. I say pass and go to a different sandwich place. I feel bad saying that since it looked family run, but I can't justify the price or flavor unfortunately.

Scott O.

Yelp
The chicken pesto sandwhich is one of the better sandwiches I've tried. We've had other sandwiches here and they've all been good but that's what I'll be ordering moving forward from here it's great

Dan M.

Yelp
This was a small spot where ordering takes place at the counter. There were a few tables to sit at as well. They had a number of different sandwiches to choose from as well as a few appetizers such as rice balls and mozzarella sticks. I went with the Spicy Italian ($16). It came with hot coopa, ham cappy, hot soppressata, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, hot vinegar peppers with olive oil and vinegar. This was absolutely stuffed and came in weighing about a pound in a half. There was a nice mix of all the meats. The peppers added the spicy factor. The bread also held up nicely with the abundance of toppings. I would have preferred a sliced provolone cheese, however. I also tried the muffuletta which came with Toscana salami, Genoa salami, hot soppressata, provolone cheese, olive spread and pepperoncini. This was also very tasty. The olive spread went nicely with the meats and provolone. The Cuban was the final sandwich I tried. It was a special on the particular day I attended. It was another satisfying sandwich. The bread was nicely toasted and there were a ton of pickles present. Will I go back? No doubt.

Yelp
Faicco's is the new hotspot in Sarasota and for good reason. These are authentic generously proportioned gourmet Italian (New York) style subs. Quality. They also have some dessert and beverage options. Pretty primo. A sandwich runs about $16 in 2022 but the value is there for the quality and quantity of ingredients be they roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, or prosciutto. It's a casual affair with a nice casual seating area picnic style and covered. I would probs call in my order so you don't have to wait. The shopping center it shares with a Mexican market that includes baked goods and a pet supply store. The Mexican market has some good stuff to try. Parking by the pet store is for its customers only. Definitely a welcome addition to the foodie scene in Sarasota.

N M.

Yelp
Would really like to give them 4 1/2 stars Nice clean place Nice seating area outside Have had several of their sandwiches and have also ordered platters for home parties...they are Good They also have some prepared foods in the fridge that are also Good The sandwiches are Pricey I absolutely love Italian Ice, however theirs is Just OK, not the best. Really had hoped it would be Will I be back for the sandwiches & the prepared food...Yes

Camela G.

Yelp
Was curious to check out the place that replaced the hot dog joint that used to occupy the space. Faicco's did not disappoint. Bread was crusty and fresh. Meat on the Cuban was super flavorful. Subs were served steaming hot. They have a nice kitchen work space where you can see them assemble these inspired sandwiches. There seemed some pride of place in both the food and in the physical space that they've set up for serious sandwich work--both for making them and for serving them. They come wrapped tight in wax paper, perfect for serious eating. Recommended.

Yelp
Stopped here on our way to the beach in Siesta Key and my lord, this deli is absolutely INCREDIBLE. They simply could not miss, so glad I found this place. For those that know of this place in Sarasota, you are incredibly lucky. We started out ordering some of the fried raviolis, amazing. Perfectly fried and the marinara sauce it came with was spot on deliciousness as well. We also got the Sausage Rolls, simply even more amazing. They were sweet sausage, generous portions, 4 pieces for 6 bucks? Sign me up everyday for that and I will carry it home. We are on the patio and another gentlemen eating couldn't help but notice how good they looked and ask me what they were. For the grand finale we got the Chicken Prosciutto Mozzerella sub, so good I mistakenly forgot to take a picture. It was a massive sub, more than enough to split with someone or have lunch for 2 days. Service was friendly, they even bring your food out to you on the patio. Faiccos you are amazing, check this place out!!

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches, toasted ravioli (my favorite & so happy to find it in FL), rice balls and prosciutto bread (my husband's favorite) everything was sooo fresh. Can't wait to go back!

Sam H.

Yelp
When your logo has a pig on it, how can you go wrong. I split the Italian sub and it was terrific. Good bread, seasoned just right and tasty meat. Like you've read, the sandwiches are gigantic. It can easily feed three normal eating people. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely will be coming back.

Tina S.

Yelp
I came here in a whim after remembering they were open to fuel up on what was going to be an afternoon of shipping during holiday season. I ordered a eggplant sandwich and my companion ordered a porchetta with sun dried tomato sandwich. We opted to eat there in a covered patio area adjacent to the parking lot. The staff was great, cordial, and as efficient as possible. The sandwiches were brought out to us upon completion. They had fans going for circulation and some music. The bread was quite good, it had a nice density and texture and the contents of the sandwiches were delicious. I also like that they used high quality fresh mozzarella that got melty when toasted. Upon doing some research I found that the owners have an original location in NYC. Check it out for yourself and let me know how you like it!

Karen C.

Yelp
The portion size is crazy. I could only eat 1/2 the sandwich. Having more than 1 size would be a good idea as leftover sandwiches to me are usually soggy. I liked the crunch on the bread. Chicken Parmesan was good but the marina sauce could have more flavor. I think the Italian should have a hot version. Mozzarella was very fresh.

Ty B.

Yelp
If you like it big well this is gonna be your next favorite spot! High quality meats and huge portions and delicious bread . what more could you ask for? check out our video review here https://youtu.be/eX555ytqdNs follow us on facebook at Out & About Media Instagram outandaboutwithtylerbutler

Yelp
This is the real deal. If you're from NY you know the original Faicco's in NYC. Well, they've brought the greatness to Sarasota. The location is easy with ample parking and outdoor seating. The inside is tight, but just order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you. We came around 11:30am on a weekday and we were in and out in 10 minutes. The menu has so many delicious options. A few porchetta options, several with chicken cutlet, Italians, sausage, Parms and then some traditional like an American or roast beef. There is surely something for everyone. They use fresh mozzarella on most of their sandwiches and it's the real deal. I went with my brother and fiancé and we got a pesto chicken with cutlet, fresh mozz and pesto, a porchetta with homemade porchetta, fresh mozz, bacon and sun dried tomatoes and a spicy Italian. They were incredible. None of us could agree which we liked the most, they were all that good. We were each only able to eat half and had half for the next day. Packed high, no skimping here. Great bread, great meat and fresh mozz. Wow. Prices are good for the quality here - I'd be shocked if somebody could eat one of these sandwiches themselves in one sitting. They range from $13-$16 but for two meals I think it's a steal. My family is all from NY and we were wishing a real NY sandwich shop would open here and now we have to wish no more. This is the real deal. Check them out asap!

Tallea K.

Yelp
Oh my god. This place is absolutely amazing. I'm so happy it gets as busy as it does. Got there around 1 pm and we waited about 45 minutes. I would gladly wait 4 hours just to eat that sandwich again. I got the classic- the mozzarella is creamy, the prosciutto is soft & salty, and that bread is crispy & crunchy. I added mayo & lettuce because I can't have a sandwich without them. Absolutely heavenly. I loved watching the people work and you could tell who the owners were. However, every single person that was working behind that counter could have been the owners they took so much pride in their work. I can not recommend this place enough. Please visit and support Sarasota's local business! This family has a great restaurant and I will be a regular now.

George P.

Yelp
Wow. You get what you pay for. Monstrous hoagie. Enough for2 people. I ordered the Italian , loved the bread and fresh cut meat. If your in the mood for a quality hoagie, the Faicco's is your spot. Bring your appetite I'm looking forward to trying more

Winnie B.

Yelp
Thank you Eddie @faiccos_sarasota! Had the Italian hero, rice balls and prosciutto ball and thought I was back in NY! The bread on the sandwich was amazing and enough meat for every bite! Rice balls were perfect with the yummy sauce. Hubby and I sat and enjoyed our sandwich while listening to a great Playlist. Enjoyed our conversations with Eddie. God bless America and keep making those delicious sandwiches. Will definitely be back for the Porchetta, anything with broccoli rabe and Italian sausage ring. YUM! So glad and grateful for the good old Italian deli/pork store.

Joe L.

Yelp
Ok third time is a charm.....,NO! Save your money. If you are in need of lots of food then this your place. If you want good food.......eat somewhere else. Place is terrible.

Cristin B.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious sandwiches! Interesting combinations, great bread! Can't wait to go back!

Tim G.

Yelp
Incredibly good tasting chicken parmesan sandwich. Also ordered sausage rolls. Yumm-O!! Sandwich is huge! Sadly, didn't see an option to purchase a half, or combine two halves on the menu. Seems way overpriced ($48 for a 2 hoagie sandwich lunch) even though it was very tasty. I would have liked a lot more sauce on my slightly dry sandwich. And I couldn't tell the cheese run off from the paper wrapping. (They are identical in color). The light coat of breading on the chicken was perfect tho. Eating outside in FL is always tricky. This visit was very hot and moist. Standing fans seemed to create more noise than comfort. BUT... it is worth the time to go and eat there! Friendly, helpful, and courteous staff made sure we got refills and answered our many questions.

James S.

Yelp
Awesome Italian sub. It took me 3 days to finish. Eager to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Allen S.

Yelp
Excellent food. Stopped in first time. Tried two sandwiches as it was hard to make up our minds. Had the chicken parm hero and the one with roasted red peppers and prosciutto and fresh made mozzarella. The one with red peppers and prosciutto was a clear winner. And fresh mozzarella makes a huge difference in thr taste and quality. Everything went together perfectly. Size of sandwiches were huge and while it seemed pricey at first it felt like good value for the money. I had read a complaint about portion size before and my opinion is that they could have charged less and given half the sandwich but probably more would complain that the sandwiches are too small. So with that we had NO issues. Service was great! Food was great! Portions were great! I cannot wait to try them again! The American was calling my name. Personally we will share next time as we felt we had to eat more just because they were so good and we were not going home. 2 thumbs up for sure!!!!

Ryan I.

Yelp
A first timer, made a great choice with Porchetta with broccoli rabe. The bread has such a nice crust to hold the meat that melts really. A great effing sandwich okay. I demolished the zucchini sticks before I could get a pic.

Verucka S.

Yelp
The extensive menu of heros at this family owned restaurant is welcomed amongst a sea of sandwiches that miss the mark. The first thing I noticed was that the two Italian men behind the counter slice the meat to order and pile it up on a fresh roll with all of the stuff you'd expect. The service was also top notch since the woman running the cash register is Tina Faicco herself alongside her husband - I asked how to pronounce the name and I still can't say it lol- Along with the Italian Hero, I got a mortadella hero as well which has arugula on it- that was the perfect complement- foodies take note. Two heros could easily feed four adults ! I can't wait to go back and try more items on their menu. My order was takeout but they do have a large covered area outside and a few tables out front - Just remember, they are closed on Sundays.

Maya R.

Yelp
Cute deli sandwich shop. The staff seems friendly enough although I cant say I felt like anyone really wanted to be there? Maybe its a NY thing. They were nice enough. Prices are a little high for sandwiches but they're huge. Enough to split for two meals. I got a rueben on rye, which was great. My husband got the american, which was huge. I tried it and my sandwich was better. He was happy though. Wouldnt call it the best Ive ever had but it was good and filling. Thanks yall.

Fay E.

Yelp
Terrible Hamburger for $14....overcooked and meat vs filler combination was very unappetizing. French fries were greasy and tasteless. Took long time for it to be cooked.

Ken G.

Yelp
Just opened 10/24/22. This is going to do well. Eddie, the owner, moved here from NY, where he was rocking The Village with his great hero sandwiches and Italian specialties for 25 years. We went for lunch: I had Mortadella, Ham and Mozzarella with Arugula on a fresh hoagie roll, my wife had an Eggplant Parm sandwich. Your jaws will get some exercise opening wide enough for these killer sandwiches. Both sandwiches were straight-up delicious. My wife proclaimed hers the best eggplant parm sandwich she's ever had. Prices may look high for a sandwich, but know that we both stopped after finishing the first half. So come very hungry, or know that you are getting two meals! The value is there 100%. All the seating is outside, most under cover. There is also real Italian Ice available, which looked really good. That will be happening on our next visit, which will be soon! Welcome to SRQ, Eddie!

Gina S.

Yelp
We saw all the social media posts about this place a few days ago and couldn't get there fast enough. We arrived before 11:00 on Saturday and people were already piling in, and for good reason, the sandwiches are out of this world. We ordered the meatball sub and the Italian hero. Both were enough to feed two people each! We are so excited to have a place like this in Southgate and cannot wait to go back and try more items on the menu!!!

Kimberly E.

Yelp
We could not wait to try this place each time we went they were closed. I finally found their hours and they close most days at 6 pm and closed on Sundays. My husband ordered a prosciutto ball and we shared a spicy Italian. Well worth the money however I really only had one complaint which is the sandwich was on the dry side. I just added some sub dressing when I got home. The cashier was nice however no one greeted us when we walked in. The place was clean and looked much better than the last place that was at the location. I love that everything is freshly sliced. Initially it seems expensive but where can 2 people eat for less than $20? The sandwich is large enough to share.

Mike M.

Yelp
This place is absolutely outstanding! The sandwiches are delicious! I usually have The Pesto Chicken! The service is always excellent! The ambiance is very friendly! This is the only place around where you can get a damn good Hero!

Jules N.

Yelp
I sometimes drive 45 minutes for a sandwich from this place, that's now good it is. Faicco's has the sharpest provolone, the freshest bread, the highest quality meats. This restaurant is the reason I like mortadella. We get the Mortadella #1, the Chicken Parm (the true test of an Italian deli!), and the Italian sandwich. The rice balls are also 10/10. They have great specials too, so ask if you are ordering over the phone. A must try in the Sarasota area.

Frank R.

Yelp
Ordered three sandwiches. Spicy Italian- perfect! Italian Roast Beef- damn good , a little too much sundried but still amazing. American very good - American cheese coulda been better quality but still great. Will definitely be back to try the Pastrami.

Angelo R.

Yelp
I had the hot Italian sausage with broccoli rob, which was so good and it was enough for two meals. I also tried their hotdog which had a nice crunch and very flavorful. My guest for lunch had the Italian and I got to taste by and it was out of this world! I highly recommend you try this place get there early because there will be a line
