Fairly maintained campground. Someone stole our spot (site 19 initially) but the campground manager was quite helpful and gave us a site 45. The floor was inclined so a little difficult to find a well balanced point to sleep. The view of lake from the campground is pretty amazing.

Lake Crescent is by far my #1 favorite lake in Washington State. It is the most beautiful lake that we have here in WA. There are many amenities to do around this area, such as paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, ebiking, and hiking. You can rent the paddleboard, kayak, and bike if you need to. This campground offers shaded campsites with FF sites that I think seem to be the best sites because they are right next to the lake. The only problem is that you would have to take a short walk down to the site to pitch your tent. Bring a wagon, it'll make your loading and unloading so much more efficient. I think campsite 90 is the best site. There are flushable toilets and water faucets. No showers.

Serene campsite by the green and beautiful Crescent lake. The campground was slightly rocky. Had bathrooms and running water, no shower. Owls lit up the forest night with their hoots

Really beautiful campground on the shores of Lake Crescent. The beach is a great place to swim and kayak, and there is a campground store that is pretty well-equipped with the essentials. The campsites were beautiful, in the middle of the ferny forest (size of each campsite varies greatly). The only thing we could wish for were showers and a playground for the kids.

This place had a nice view, and lake side campsites get really close to the water but if you want to get something from your car or use the bathroom, you have to walk through a steep slope. The bathroom was not that clean. There are plenty of running water faucets throughout the campsite. Shared bear safe

Had decent bathrooms that had warm water in the sink. Flush toilets/ Fresh water spouts / dumpsters / fish cleaning stations. Not as private tho.

We stayed here a few weeks ago, it was very clean and easy to get to. Absolutely beautiful views and access to the lake (although the store was already closed for the season- so we couldn't rent kayaks which was very disappointing) The ONLY thing I can say after reading some reviews about the place... it is QUIET!!! Like too quiet... people were saying the noise from the road was too loud, uh yeah because that's literally all you can hear because the campground is as quiet as a fly🤣🤣 I swear after 6pm not a single noise was being made for the rest of the night, you could hear someone cough, laugh, a baby cry... we felt bad TALKING at 8pm. We wanted to play our music quietly but didn't- feeling like we'd annoy someone. Also the noise from the road is not that loud🫡 For some people this might be what you're looking for in a campground, but for us we want to talk, play our music (quietly) and have fun while we're in nature and this just wasn't the vibe here. Obviously this is our opinion and im giving it 4 stars because the store was closed a month before the campground closed for the season.

Absolutely stunning campground! Never knew you could camp so close to lake Crescent. I love this area. The lake water is pristine and the green mountains add to the beauty. It’s super popular so you have to plan way in advance and book as soon as the sites become available. Restrooms with running water on site. There is a general store just before entering the campsite as well. You don’t need the National park pass for this campground

Yelp
Loved camping here during our trip to Olympic National Park. The campground is beautiful, was quiet, and is right next to Crescent Lake (some of the campsites back up to it). Good-sized campgrounds. Clean bathrooms. Water access. Only downside is there are no showers. No cell service, but you get typically get it within a 5 minute drive either direction so not bad for plugging locations into maps. Make sure to walk down to Crescent Lake - it is absolutely gorgeous. Watching the sunrise is wonderful if you can get up that early. Make sure to check if there is a campfire ban before going - one was in effect during our trip, so we brought our portable stove for cooking. Definitely a great choice for camping in Olympic National Park.

Yelp
This is an absolutely spectacular campground. However, I technically did not stay here. I was traveling light with only a backpacking non-freestanding tent. The ground is rock solid and I was not able to get stakes into the ground to pitch my tent. I was devastated that I had to make the call to camp elsewhere. I did get to have a quick lunch, use the restroom and take a swim in the lake. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. The campsite was flat (loop C, site 53) and close to the restroom. Do not forget to take a dip in the lake!

Yelp
Excellent campground, but... Water: You need to walk about 75 yards each time you want to fill up your water containers (at the bathrooms). Showers: none. Fine with ME, because I find other ways to bathe, but if this is a deal-breaker for you, you've been warned. Bathrooms: Cleanest of any campground bathrooms I've ever seen (but there's no soap at all - bring your own). Campsites: The whole campground is on a hill, so each site is a little slanted. You'll need levelers for your trailer/sprinter, etc., and it's a gravel spot so your tent will be on gravel unless you have a good footprint to add. View: Look up and you're going to notice that most of the campground is a tall canopy of maple trees with a few evergreens - very unique and very beautiful. It's also not easy to see the lake because the greenery blocks it unless you're in the walk-in sites. Parking: PLENNNNNNNNNTY of parking and each site has a pretty wide sectoin to park 2 cars + your RV, etc. Camp hosts: They leave everyone alone. The bathrooms get cleaned & restocked, but they don't meander through the park like Oregon State Parks people do, snearing at you and constantly checking on you. Noise: Hwy 101 is right next to it, so you hear the highway, mufflers, etc., but this campground tends to attract quiet, well-mannered campers so you're going to sleep well. Ice & firewood?: Yep, but the little general store's prices are about double the cost of a grocery store, so grab it before you arrive or you're going to pay a heck of a lot ($9.99 for a bundle of firewood). Boat ramp: Gravel & super easy to launch, with 2 docks. This end of the lake is very windy so you'll end up with quite a chop and it'll blow you and your SUP or kayak pretty far away in no time, unless you're paying attention. Cell/Wi-Fi: Verizon has 1 bar and I could text and call. Sprint/AT&T? No.

Yelp
What a gorgeous experience. The pictures attached were 5 paces from my tent at the walk-in camp site. It's the most beautiful place I've camped in 31 years of life. Every site was booked. I got on 6 months before our trip just to book this site. There's a great deal of trails around the site that we very much enjoyed as well, namely the Marymere Falls hike and the Spruce Railroad trail (though this trail is really more for cyclists).

Yelp
On our first trip through the Olympic Peninsula we stopped briefly at Crescent Lake for some hiking and swimming for the day. It was such a nice location we decided to return and stay at one of the campgrounds closest to the water. Unfortunately you can't reserve a campsite in advance, so getting a spot can be really difficult requiring either a weekday trip or someone to head out ahead of the group to reserve and stay at the site. We elected the latter and the brave husband of mine went out and set up camp by himself on a Thursday morning. Even getting there as early as this there were not many good sites left and we ended up on an inside spot near the bathrooms. The spots are big enough for 3 tents, had a picnic table, and a firepit. The bathrooms were pretty decent and relatively clean. There was also a spot with water outside for washing dishes. The campground itself has beautiful rainforest around it with mossy stumps and tall impressive trees. The lake is a bit of a walk if you aren't able to get one of the campsites closest and none of the sites really have a nice lake view. We were able to take a little trail down to the lakeside and enjoy the views. There aren't any beaches near the campground and since it was misty all we really wanted to do was sit by the water. Overall it's a nice campground but wish it had nicer campsites with water views, was near some of the lake beaches, and most of all wish it had reservations.

Yelp
We stayed here in October 2020 for two nights and did not make a reservation (first come first served campground). The campground sits at one end of Lake Crescent with about a dozen campsites that have beautiful views of the lake and the others that have forest views. There are sites that are directly on the lake with access to the water and ones that have some form of a lake view from a higher vantage point on a small hill. Both of these options are walk-up only, meaning you park your car and have to carry everything down the hill to your site. The ones directly on the lake are the most annoying to get to just because of how steep the mini hill is to go up/down. If you are not comfortable carrying everything to your site with a bit of a walk, I'd recommend sticking to one of the forest sites that are like other campgrounds where you park your car directly in front of your own site. We arrived on a Friday afternoon when most lake front sites were already taken. With so much stuff for the two nights we had, we opted for site 72 because it was a bit closer to the parking lot and still had obstructed views of the lake. The campsites share a bear box and have their own picnic tables. The bathroom is a short walk away from the site we stayed at and it had flush toilets and sinks (though no soap, which seemed odd to me especially considering COVID). There is not much privacy in any of the sites overlooking the lake, but with how great the views are it was worth it to make some new friends around us. Note that the closest parking lot fills up very quickly as there aren't many spots for how many sites there are near the water. If they do fill up, be prepared for a much longer walk to your site!
