After visiting the spa on 2 different occasions, I can confirm it is nothing short of a 5 star experience. From the warm welcoming staff at reception, to the most relaxing massage. The complimentary treats are devine. The heated pool and jacuzzi are an absolute delight! The sauna is just a big plus. Absolutely loved every minute of being there. Definitely a new favorite spot.

Had a lovely family getaway for 2 birthdays … the rooms were beautiful and spacious. Spa so relaxing and dinner extra special. I loved the small touches that made the entire stay so special. Rooms are well equipped, clean and excellent value for money … will be back again !

Three Visits, Three Disappointments — No Accountability This was my third visit to this spa, and unfortunately my third poor experience. • December 2021: Visited with my mother. Multiple service issues, including lunch delayed by two hours. I sent a detailed complaint email and was assured the issues would be addressed. • 2024: Returned for a friend’s 40th birthday. I emailed in advance referencing my 2021 complaint. Despite this, the same lunch delays occurred. • December 2025: Booked a year-end spa day for my assistant. Sadly, nothing has improved. We were placed indoors without being asked about preferences. Treatments were average, products were not explained, and facial masks were not properly removed. Lunch was again late (almost an hour), incorrect, and identical to previous failures. Repeated requests to speak to a manager went unanswered until we returned to reception - and she was more concerned about the lunch order. No warm refreshments were available in the garden area during long delays despite stormy weather - only available at reception. Another guest in the change room was visibly upset and stated she would not be returning. I cancelled the remaining treatments and I ended up taking my assistant to a mall salon instead. A stark contrast to the refined experience promised. Most telling: despite raising concerns during the visit, no one from the spa has followed up at all. After these experiences I cannot recommend this spa.

Our family arrived at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa genuinely excited. The property is beautiful, charming, and visually stunning. The staff initially appeared warm and accommodating, and we were optimistic about a wonderful stay with our children. Unfortunately, our experience took a deeply upsetting turn. After a long day of travel, we left our room with what we believed to be the “Do Not Disturb” sign displayed. There were two tags in the room — one blank and one marked “Please Make Up Room.” We placed the blank tag on the door, assuming it indicated privacy. We later learned there was supposed to be a second designated “Do Not Disturb” sign, which had not been provided to us. During our absence, housekeeping entered the room for turn-down service. Following this entry, items were discovered missing. Given the reputation and positioning of a hotel of this caliber, we did not expect to feel unsafe or violated during our stay. The experience was deeply distressing for our family. At checkout, management was apologetic but did not offer a concrete resolution or remedy. Over a month later, we received written communication stating that an internal investigation had been conducted. We were informed that one staff member passed a polygraph test while another showed signs of possible deception. Despite these inconclusive and concerning findings, no meaningful effort was made to rectify the situation. We made repeated attempts to contact upper management and requested communication with ownership but received no response. While the property itself is visually enchanting, our experience left us disappointed and unsettled. Based on what occurred and the lack of resolution, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Nestled in the heart of the city, the hotel is surrounded by tranquil gardens. The spa is superb, offering complimentary coffee and snacks. Rooms are tastefully decorated with Balinese and African themes, creating a unique ambiance. The cuisine is delectable, with gourmands able to indulge in a 7-course meal paired with wine tasting. The staff are friendly and exceptionally attentive, ensuring a memorable stay 😊.

Absolutely incredible accommodation. The rooms were stunning and the staff were exceptional. The food was amazing, highly recommend the shakshuka at breakfast. The pool, the atmosphere, everything was really five star quality.

Stunningly quirky and beautiful hotel!|We stayed here after a 7 night safari in Botswana and it’s was just the perfect peaceful retreat we needed before heading home. Each room is individually, beautifully decorated, large, comfortable and well equipped. We treated ourselves to a spa day to relax and the treatments were amazing. Lunch on the terrace with a very talented lady singing jazz was fantastic. The hotel felt super safe within a gated community has stunning gardens and is really fabulous and we will definitely return when back in Johannesburg

The spa is amazing and the staff was professional and friendly. My experience was great. The place is breathtaking. The restaurant and the staff was amazing. The drinks and food (I had mocktails) were delicious. I highly recommend and will be definitely coming back.
