Fairlight Beach House

We arrived in Durban on a late afternoon flight and stayed at Fairlight Beach House for just one night before our onward travels — or at least that was the plan. I’m sure others have written about the spacious, comfortable rooms and the stunning view over the beach and the Indian Ocean. Unfortunately, my wife became ill overnight and was in no state for a long drive, so we weren’t able to fully enjoy the beach house.|During breakfast alone, I explained the situation to the staff. A late check-out was no problem, and they kindly asked whether I needed any medical assistance. Fortunately, the situation wasn’t too serious, but I did ask whether it might be possible to extend our stay. The beach house was, however, fully booked, so I resigned myself to searching for nearby accommodation. Amazingly, the owners quickly found a solution for us, completely removing the stress from the situation.|In the end, my wife felt better by late morning, and we continued our journey. Nevertheless, I was impressed by the exceptional level of customer care and attention we received. It was greatly appreciated.

Fairlight Beach House is an amazing place to stay. This is my second time staying here while in transit - in between travels and it is such a great place to relax and retreat. The views from the room are out of this world. The hosts are really kind and the staff are top notch. Definitely staying here again in the future. And the breakfast in the morning is really sumptuous.

From the arrival to the departure, the service and hospitality was top class. The rooms were spacious, the breakfast was delicious. With the 180 degree sea view, and the noise of the crashing waves, we will be back. We loved our mini break.

We arrived here late at night, but we were still able to check-in. We got a quick introduction, the most important part being not to leave the windows open because of the baboons. We had a lovely spacious room with beautiful view over the sea. The one weird thing was that you could look outsight through the blinder from within the shower. But maybe the other way around was not possible. The breakfast was good, with your own table reserved. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately, we had to leave after 1 night.

Emma was very friendly, helpful and organised. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back!

We spent three separate nights at Fairlight en route to and from the airport and trips, and it was the perfect place to stopover. The location is beautiful overlooking the ocean, and the rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable and quiet with sea views. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice in a light and airy room, and the service was brilliant. Colin and his staff were consistently welcoming and helpful, so that we felt completely at home each time we stayed. There are good restaurants within easy walking distance. Thank you

The location of the property is amazing and they serve good food with a variety of freshly baked goods, fruit and yogurt.||||The lady at reception and the young man who took our breakfast orders really gave great service throughout our stay. They were helpful and just great human beings!

As a person who has traveled to all 7 continents and experienced many different hotels and BnB’s….the Fairlight gets a 6 or 7 Star rating from myself and my Lady. Besides the beautiful clean rooms and delicious breakfast, the beach and the Indian Ocean are across the street. There are also two superb lunch/dinner restaurants a 6 or 7 minute walk away.|Quite simply the Best Accommodations you can dream of at an excellent price point. |Spencer Rice
