"Sitting beside the turquoise waters of Lake Louise amid the snow-covered peaks of the Canadian Rockies, this historic hotel has long drawn travelers for its natural spring and majestic, storybook views that truly are more breathtaking in person than any Instagram photo. The addition of Basin Glacial Waters has further cemented it as a leader in the wellness scene, but the property weaves mindfulness and wellness through far more than just its spa, offering guided hikes, sound bath meditations, personalized facials and massages, and even guided cold plunges in Lake Louise itself. During my stay, the most memorable wellness moment outside the spa was stepping into the icy lake on a guided cold plunge: after practicing breathing and mindfulness techniques and hearing about the benefits for circulation and mood, the initial shock and pain disappeared the instant I looked up at the surrounding mountains and realized I was standing in the middle of the most beautiful view I had ever seen, completely mesmerized by its beauty. The hotel experience made it easy to reconnect with nature and myself, and, paired with Basin, I left feeling relaxed, reset, and eager to carry that sense of stillness and mental clarity back into everyday life." - Meaghan Kenny
"Every winter, a pop-up Ice Bar takes shape along the frozen waters of Lake Louise. The outdoor bar is made from 20 blocks of solid ice and offers the best views in the area, with an outdoor setting overlooking the Victoria Glacier and the mountain basin below. The Ice Bar, which the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise builds, is a great place to warm up with a drink before renting a pair of skates for a turn around the frozen-over lake." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. "Equally grand and right on the lake, this sibling to Banff Springs came with gorgeous views of Lake Louise beneath towering, blue-tinted glaciers, and I appreciated that you can rent ice skates here for time on the hotel’s frozen, picture-perfect rink." - Evie Carrick Evie Carrick Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. "An iconic lakeside property offering ski-in/ski-out access and postcard views, soon to unveil the BASIN Glacial Waters Spa that emphasizes wellness alongside classic alpine luxury." - Jessica Chapel

"A five-star château awaits you at the world-famous, 539-room Fairmont Château Lake Louise. Another six-time Readers' Choice Award winner, this hotel offers the epitome of elegance to guests: surreal lake views, soothing spa treatments, stellar food and beverage options, and scores of outdoor activities. A destination in and of itself, this fairytale resort was initially built to entice travelers to embark on a Rocky Mountain rail adventure during the early days of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Fling open your blinds in the morning for a front-row view of turquoise Lake Louise flanked by the prominent peaks of Victoria Glacier. Take it all in, then get outside no matter the season for a day spent doing anything and everything: go for a guided hike to a mountainside teahouse, join an e-bike tour, take a sleigh ride, or hit the slopes. Upon your return, stroll beneath the ornate chandelier, passing galleries and on-site shops, to enjoy a cocktail with a view at Fairview Bar & Restaurant. Pro tip: Spend at least one morning with a cup of coffee in bed and an elaborate in-room dining spread (try a blueberry scone and the brioche French toast) while you witness the sun sparkling on the lake." - Alexandra Toto
