This course is a disappointment leaving you question why the cost is so much. I wonder if they just don’t care or don’t know how to maintain a golf course to the caliber that this deserves. From the tee box to the greens there is issues with the ground you play from. If it wasn’t for other courses in the area in MUCH better shape I would say it was weather and just a “off” season but that’s not the case. If you want to play a very well maintained course with just as beautiful views of the mountains go play the other courses in the area. I’ve played Fairmont Jasper and Banff and this is by far not even close to the condition of those courses. The layout of the holes is also something I was not impressed with as there is a few holes where there is water between 220 and 280 yards from the tee box forcing you to lay up for a second shot so there wasn’t very many holes you can hit your driver with confidence. There was A LOT of sand traps, more then I expected so even when you hit a good shot there was a good chance its rolling in a bunker. I would be comparing this course to a $60-80 public course that’s working with a small budget. Save your money and play elsewhere. 2 stars for clubhouse staff, the cart/cart path, and all that sand was soft and better maintained then the grass your supposed to be playing from.
