An Interview with Omer Acar, CEO of AccorHotels’ Raffles and Fairmont Brands - AFAR

"A striking new-build component of the Katara Towers complex that reshaped the city's skyline with an emblem-inspired scimitar design; opened in 2022, it features bold architectural and interior statements such as a lobby dominated by an exceptionally tall chandelier, pioneering wellness offerings like Pillar Wellbeing, and other high-end amenities that illustrate how the brand balances modern spectacle with hospitality service." - Jennifer Flowers

The 31 Best New Hotels in the World of 2024 - AFAR

"A bold Fairmont debut in Doha’s scimitar‑shaped Katara Towers that offers 362 yacht‑inspired rooms and suites with big windows, scalloped leather headboards, and backlit onyx bathrooms; dramatic design features include an atrium cascade of some 4,807 pearl‑shaped lights, while playful culinary theatrics (a lobby cloche filled with cakes and life‑size ice sculptures carved regularly in a restaurant) add a sense of fun." - Jennifer Flowers

Fairmont Doha (Doha, Qatar) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are few sights quite like Doha’s landmark Katara Towers. The curved building, designed to resemble the crossed scimitars on the nation’s seal, is an architectural marvel set overlooking the Arabian Gulf. But don’t just snap a photo—stay here, at the Fairmont Doha ensconced within the Towers. There are 362 guest rooms and suites framing views of the sparkling Arabian Gulf or Lusail City. Awash in white, these accommodations look and feel like luxurious oases. Amenities are plentiful, from a spa and kids’ club to multiple restaurants with cuisines spanning the world, though gazing at the view from this singular space could keep you entranced alone." - Tablet Hotels

I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the outstanding hospitality I received during my stay at Fairmont. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly welcomed and almost as if I were at home. I was treated like royalty..the staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly, attentive and added a personal touch to address me by my name. Appreciation goes out to Sodiq, Jane & Joseph thank you! The dining experience, from breakfast to the restaurants, was exceptional. Appreciation goes out to the amazing breakfast team, all managers, breakfast staffs & chefs! Truly the best & most delicious breakfast experience I’ve had..each dish is made to order with a diverse and thoughtful selection. Provok restaurant is an absolute must visit! The food is exquisite and perfect for celebrating a special occasion . With breathtaking views of the city and stunning ambience and beautifully curated aesthetics. I felt completely relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the range of facilities the hotel had to offer. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with architecture that’s both elegant and inspiring. My room with its breathtaking views of the city and sea was nothing short of incredible. Thank you for going above and beyond to make my birthday celebration so memorable. I sincerely appreciate the warmth and care, and I look forward to returning in the near future.

For me, it’s one of the most beautiful hotels it truly matches my taste. Those who appreciate a calm and elegant atmosphere will definitely love it. I really enjoyed my stay, but the service was extremely slow. Even simple requests took hours to be completed. I sincerely hope they improve this aspect, as everything else was wonderful. 🌿 Highly recommended 🤍

I spent 9 nights at this beautiful hotel. I loved every second. The hospitality was out of this world, honestly not a bad word could be said. A special mention to the staff Sulaiman for his the vibes and positive energy every time we encountered him. Christian, Adonis and Aymen all helped me through out my stay answering every question I had and making my stay just as I planned by providing extra hangers, extra mirror and iron. My amazing stay was put down to these people and I would totally recommend coming here.

I went on a solo trip to Qatar and stayed at the Fairmont hotel. The hotel was a lovely hotel to stay at for solo trips, baecations and also a family trip. The facilities and amenities of the hotel are lovely and there is a clean aesthetic about the whole hotel. Although I had an amazing trip, the only downside was it was my birthday and the hotel did nothing in my room, even it was like a little birthday cake or just a message. I don’t think they paid attention to that, which was a little upsetting. I did tell one of the staff who wrote it down in his notepad but still done nothing! Also when I’d booked they’d asked for any special requests and I noted I’d be travelling alone for my birthday, however again nobody even wished me a HBD :(. Luckily my friends sent flowers to my hotel for me. Suleiman was a lovely guy greeting all holidaymakers with enthusiasm, which was a lovely touch. The spa facilities are amazing and relaxing and also the outdoor pool has a great vibe and lovely staff. Emmanuel who works outside, I believe he’s a porter was also amazing. We had great conversations and he was always interested in how I spent my day and whether I had a great time. The staff at breakfast were also very kind. I can’t remember the lady’s name at the front desk, but she remembered my name when I was leaving and said goodbye to me which was nice of her & it felt personable. I’d definitely stay again. A great time was had.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, I had a gifted candle with me—completely unused and intended as a keepsake, not to be lit in the room. However, staff insisted on confiscating it due to their policy. I explained clearly that it was a gift and wouldn’t be used, but they refused to make any exception. I was told I could collect it upon checkout, but unfortunately, I forgot. Now, they’re demanding £70 to return it by post, which is absurd given the circumstances and the size of the item. To make things worse, I sent a follow-up email to explain the situation—it was completely ignored. None of my concerns were acknowledged or taken into account, which only added to the feeling of poor customer care. Service by the pool was also well below standard. Staff were visibly sweating while serving food and drinks, and in more than one instance, sweat actually dripped into our drinks—something that is completely unacceptable at any hotel, let alone one that presents itself as high-end. Having traveled widely and stayed at many hotels, this was by far one of the most disappointing experiences in terms of service, cleanliness, and hospitality. I would not recommend staying here.

I stayed at Fairmont Doha for a few days and honestly, I was really impressed. The place looks amazing – the rooms, the lobby, everything feels elegant without being too formal.||What really made the stay special for me was a staff member named Sulaiman. Right after I checked in, he showed me around and explained where to find everything. It might sound like a small thing, but it helped me feel relaxed and comfortable from the start. He was super friendly and knew so much about the hotel, which made it easy to enjoy all the facilities.||This was my first time here, but definitely not the last. It’s a beautiful hotel and the people working there make the whole experience even better.

I was very impressed with Fairmont Doha. Room was huge and out of expectation. I feel comfy and luxury at the same time. All facilties are beyond my imagination! I love the Gold lounge at 5th, state of the art gym equipments, multiple swimming pools. All staffs are super friendly and helpful. Specual gratitude for Evelyn who hosts me and my partner through all facilities. I literally would lost in the hotel if she didnt caught us earlier. Christian was also very helpful and super friendly! Couldnt be more greateful for everything :)

From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff at the Fairmont Doha made us feel so welcome. From the housekeeping team to the staff at the entrance and even the security members, everyone went out of their way to be friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The service was flawless throughout our stay.||The room we were given was nothing short of amazing. It felt magical, with a dressing room and bathroom that had a real wow factor. The TV was huge and, unlike so many hotels, actually worked properly with plenty of movies and sports channels to enjoy in the evenings. The only things that would have made the room absolutely perfect would be a few more drawers for clothes and the bed being a little less high. Other than that, it truly was the best.||The facilities were 10/10. The gym was modern and filled with top-quality machines. The indoor pool was spacious with a great kids’ area, which was perfect for our family. We also loved the kids club, where we took our 23-month-old to play during the day—it was such a lovely space and gave our little one so much joy.||Breakfast was included in our stay, and it was the perfect way to start the day. The food was exceptional, with set menu items made to order. The avocado smash on toast was to die for—I ended up ordering it every single morning! On top of that, there was a big selection of pastries and other food options. The breakfast staff were outstanding, and I have to give a special mention to Imran, one of the waiters. He was such a delight to speak to and made sure we had everything we needed.||This was our first visit to the Fairmont Doha, but it definitely won’t be our last. I’ve fallen in love with both the country and this hotel. An unforgettable stay and worth every penny.
