The FKL in Telluride has an amazing ski in and out location. It makes the ski experience with kids so much easier! The views from most of the room are incredible also. Pool, jacuzzis, steam room and sauna are all available not to mention their daily tea, coffee and water bar. Our grandkids loved going down the hall to get tea, apples and hot chocolate everyday! Only complaint about the rooms is the temperature regulation. It is difficult in the late afternoon when the sun bares down and at night to cool down the rooms, even during the winter. The FKL has plans for updating their accommodations in the next few years and this makeover is needed.

We are paying over $1,000 a night for our apartment, but there is no AC. Despite the fact that it’s 54 degrees outside and we have all of the windows open, it is still a very hot and humid 78 degrees inside the apartment - at midnight. I contacted the concierge shortly after 9:30pm, and while they provided a “swamp cooler” and an extra fan, they’ve only managed to cool down the living room from the original 84 degrees to the current 78 degrees. The bedrooms are still sitting at 80 degrees. I’m sure the Fairmont is fantastic in the winter, but I advise avoiding it at all costs in the summer.

My stay with the Fairmont Franz Klammer was nothing short of stellar. From the moment of booking to waving goodbye at the airport, it was top notch. Our driver met us at the airport upon our arrival and was holding a sign with our last names on it. The conversation and knowledge he had made the already beautiful 1.5 hour drive from Montrose to Telluride even more enjoyable. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the wonderful reception staff and shown to our awesome suite. We didn’t even book the nicest unit available, but we felt like we were living in luxury! Our week long stay was complimented by lots of fun in the surrounding Village area, tons of great local food and drinks, and beautiful 360° views the whole way through. Anything we needed from start to finish was handled by the reception and concierge teams, who are there to assist around the clock. I couldn’t recommend a place more to anyone wanting to have a special experience in an already special place. Thanks so much, FKL!

Not only completely satisfied but we were all impressed with the efficiency and attention to detail to every thing. From check-in, to the room, specially the housekeeping (we only used them two days out of the six says we were there). They are amazing. Check out process. Answering questions. Transportation. Every-single-thing. The staff was always happy to help in every way. Can't thank them enough for making us feel so welcome.

While there’s no denying this property is dated, it remains well maintained and has high standards for housekeeping and customer service. The suites are huge and are well appointed with spectacular views. The location is 11/10 with easy access to everything. We happened to be there during the spring edition of Mountainfilm which was just an added bonus. We loved our time in Telliride which left us “breathless”, lol. A shout out to Nick who looked after all of our needs and couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful.

BEAUTIFUL hotel and property. This resort could not be better placed in Telluride. The views, the activities and the restaurants are top notch. The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to help you. We have traveled to this Fairmont 5 times and can’t wait to come back.

Short stay of 4 days to enjoy closing weekend. The Klammer Lodge location was central to the on mountain events and activities in Mountain Village. It was convenient to take the gondola to town for the Friday night street dance. The entire staff was friendly and service oriented without being over bearing. We love staying at the Fairmont Telluride several times a year.

Google
"Dated" is an interesting word that might mean different things to different people. But to the frequent traveler it simply means - "old" and "worn out". ||Such is the place that the once staple of Telluride Mountain Village hotels - The Fairmont Franz Klammer - finds itself in 2025. While it's had plans for renovations for some years, none have come to fruition. Meanwhile, the thin doors - which loudly trumpet the many children running down the halls - and worn decor and musty and mildew smells just keep reminding you that this place is in desperate need of a face lift if not total and complete tear down. ||That's not to say that its location and proximity to amazing skiing isn't the best in Telluride. It is. Also, the staff and management seem to be trying their best to make good out of a difficult, if not, insurmoutable situation. With the Madeline next door under constant renovation while consistently raising prices and the new Four Seasons on the way - the Franz hasn't much more time to waste...

Yelp
This is an outstanding place to stay in Mountain Village, outside the town of Telluride. The two bedroom suites are exceptional, with plenty of room, a full kitchen and a nice balcony for relaxing and taking in the beautiful views of the area (especially in early October with the changing Aspen trees!) The service is top notch and every person is attentive to your needs. There is a gym and a restaurant on location and plenty of space to explore. The hotel is also very quiet (at least when we visited), which I found extremely relaxing. I highly recommend this Fairmont if you are in the area.

Yelp
We loved the location and amenities of this lodge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo. We had a upscale kitchen with a sub-zero, Bosch dishwasher and gas stove. Our kitchen was full of everything you would need to cook and eat with. Complete with washer and dryer. We had two bathrooms each with a large tub and shower. This lodge is perfect for skiers. The gondola was right next to our exit. Lots of restaurants and shops close by. We were here off season so many were closed but it would perfect in skiing season. I would recommend staying here. Great location.

Yelp
I'm a BIG fan of the Franz Klammer Lodge! We've been staying here since I was a teenager and every single visit has been a dream. It is perfectly located in Mountain Village, steps away from the gondola to town, and has gorgeous views of the ski runs. If you're a skier, you can practically ski right in and out of the lodge. We typically come in the summer/Fall so I really can't speak for ski season but i'm sure it is just as dreamy. Most of the units are timeshare/owned and we're lucky enough to have a family member who is an owner. The second you pull up to the property, you're greeted by name, they unload your car/stuff on a cart, and escort you to your condo unit. All units have a kitchen, full living room, BEAUTIFUL bathrooms (with jacuzzi tubs), steam showers, comfy beds, and the list goes on. The kitchens are stocked with dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and even basic spices! Amazing! The concierge team is always SO helpful when needing hike advice, recommending various adventures that you can do in the area, making restaurant reservations, etc. They also have coffee, tea, and fruit water available 24/7. The best part? They have dog-friendly units! We brought our pup with us and he had the time of his life. They had a dog bed and bowls waiting for him when we arrived. Talk about spoiled! They do offer spa services, however, it isn't your typical full spa experience with locker rooms, etc. They do have jacuzzis, a steam room, and sauna on property though. So all of the amenities are there, just not like a normal spa that you're probably used to. I did enjoy my maternity massage! Their jacuzzis are located outside on two different decks and have GORGEOUS views! Thank you for always making us feel right at home (including our pup!), Franz Klammer team! We can't wait until our next visit.

Yelp
My friend and I booked a spa treatment at the so called 5 star Fairmont Resort in Telluride. While I realize it was during Covid, we were told that only the indoor jacuzzi would be closed. We booked two massages at the same time only to be called the day before we left for Telluride that now our services were an hour and a half apart. They were only going to have one spa tech doing treatments. I thought that was odd, but I thought, "Oh well, I'll just lay out, go swimming, maybe go to the gym, sauna, steam room or relaxation room. Well, about 10 minutes after my friend went in for her service, it started to downpour poolside. So, I went in to the lobby, no one there for almost 1/2 hour! I sat on a bench waiting for SOMEONE to find a place for me to go. There were signs on the steam room door, sauna, showers; every place but the gym....closed! No water, no snacks, no magazines, no staff anywhere. I called down to the lobby to let the manager on duty know I was alone in the spa with nowhere to go! I explained the whole situation to Haley (the manager) who proceeded to tell me that it was not raining! I literally had to take a picture of the water at the pool to prove it was raining! Omg! Then, I told her I had nowhere to sit and everything was closed. She again argued that the showers, sauna and steam room were open, No They Were Not! Again, I'm spending my time taking pictures of all of the closed signs as proof! I get it Covid. But at the same time, don't charge 5 star prices for 1 service, professionalism, respect fir the client and spa services. Just don't open! I cancelled and walked out! My poor friend was still inside and I had to text her that I walked, with all of our stuff to a coffee shop. I've been in customer service for 35 years, Never would I basically call the client a liar let alone not get my butt up and meet her downstairs so she wasn't alone and felt like she was getting some sort of attention for almost a $300 day that was ruined!

Yelp
Everything about this hotel is perfect. The staff is above and beyond. The valet took such great care of us, must give a shot out to all of them. The hotel grounds are stunning. Everything is within walking distance and a gondola ride away. I'm so glad to finally be able to visit this property and I already can not wait to be back!

Yelp
We stayed here for the past 5 days and I absolutely love staying here. The hotel is gorgeous, staff is friendly and knows everything about the town, location is great, clean, etc. They have 2 hot tubs as well as complimentary coffee 24/7. The gondola is right out front of the hotel. The valet is very prompt on pulling up your car too and you can even call ahead to make it easier. Be sure to stay here! You won't be disappointed and it's worth every dollar.

Yelp
I've been coming to this lodge for over 10 years. The service and attention to detail is 5 star. The staff is accommodating and friendly. This is a very well run machine. The architecture is consistent with the mountainside environment. Inside there are full amenities, which makes this a welcome place to live. You're a very short walk away from incredible skiing and more.

Yelp
I actually didn't stay at the lodge, but is here for the spa treatment-- everyone needs a little pampering after few hard days of skiing or boarding. The spa is well equipped with sauna and a steam room, hot tub and heated outdoor pool and oxygen bar. I was provided with a nice thick terry cloth robe and there are towels readily available. The staffs are attentive and friendly and my massage therapist Cat was amazing. I would say this is a pretty awesome spa center.

Yelp
Disclosure: I did not handle my individual booking, as I stayed in this lodge as part of a large group with school. That being said, I have no understanding of how much FK costs, especially relative to other lodges in the area. That being said, this place deserves a cool Five Stars (shout out to Mead notebooks) because of the impeccable service and amazing accommodations. My friends and I were split between two 7-person condos that were fully equipped with full kitchen, three bedrooms, jacuzzi/standing showers, and the whole nine. The lodge had hot tubs on almost every floor, with a spa that offered hot tub, sauna, steam room, showers, and entry to an outdoor heated pool. But, above all else, the people and the service were extraordinay...AND with a no tip policy. At our beck and call, the front desk and service people were willing to lend a hand and housekeeping left our condos in crystal clean condition every day. If you stay in Telluride, CO, staying at the Fairmont Franz Klammer is a MUST. Ski / board hard, Ev

Yelp
The Fairmont Franz Klammer provides luxurious accomodations in winter as well as the other 3 seasons. The lodge is conveniently located next to the Telluride slopes, ski lifts, and free gondola into town. The Klammer's rooms are made up into suites that serve its guests like 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, complete with fireplace, king-sized memory foam beds, cable tv in every bedroom, a full kitchen with a Viking range, and even a balcony with gas grills. The bathrooms have jet tubs and steam/showers for those post-downhill aches. The Lodge provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the Telluride Airport. Aww yeah! When and if I return to Telluride, I would love stay here again - if I could float the hefty price.

Yelp
Let me start by saying I'm a pilot and I know travel. This is my 3rd time staying at a Fairmont property and they know customer service and plush accommodations. Everything down to the matches to light the candles is in its proper place. I arrived here in Telluride by car. They met me before I even opened my door! The bus person unloaded our car, took everything to our room, explained EVERY feature in the residence, and parked our car. Everything in the residence was absolutely perfect. They texted me every day to make sure my stay was fun, enjoyable, and above all...exceptional! The Concierge was beyond incredible. Anything I asked for was met with exceptionalism and even made me feel good for asking. Nick at check in desk was like speaking to a brother. He welcomed us and we knew we were in for an exceptional stay...and it was EXCEPTIONAL! The views out the windows... OMG! These wonderful people are obviously proud of being a part of the Fairmont team and it shows. We have really enjoyed our time here in Telluride. Do yourself a favor if you are reading this review and wondering where to stay. Stay here and experience it for yourself. I promise you will be glad you

Yelp
Excellent mountain side lodge. Loved taking the gondola from mountain side to telluride. Everything was very clean and fabulous. Love all the services there. Would definitely go back for more adventures.

Yelp
Great place -- amazing service-- low key and not snooty in any way- great perks over all---- ... unfortunately the follow through was poor at this location after we had a problem after we left the hotel regarding an item left behind that they promised to return to us.

Yelp
Perfect for a getaway in the mountains. Outstanding service and beautiful Alpine lodge-style rooms with overstuffed leather furniture. My family has owned here for years and we love coming as often as possible.

Colorado R.

Yelp
Caveat emptor: No A/C The hotel is beautifully appointed and is centrally located in Mountain Village so you have the convenience of shopping and restaurants steps from the hotel. The only reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars is because my family stayed here during the summer the hotel does not have air conditioning. I can't quite believe that any high end establishment would not include A/C in this day and age. Of course I understand that Telluride is a ski destination and not so much a summer destination so for most travelers to the area, having no A/C is a moot point. However, for a summer destination, the "cool mountain breezes" isn't quite enough to cool down a 2 bedroom suite to make sleeping comfortable. In the winter, I'd absolutely love to stay here again; however, we will be staying next door at The Madeline the next time we visit in the summer - they do have A/C.

Tom R.

Yelp
My experience at this lodge was not as good as I had hoped it would be based on the expensive price. Here are some problems: 1. No air conditioning -- during the summer, the room was very hot in the afternoon. 2. No safe in the room. 3. You need a PhD to operate the TV system. 4. One day during the stay, the maid left my door ajar after she left. 5. One day during my stay the TV randomly turned itself on at 5 am. 6. The car valet can get backed up with significant delays. So, don't assume that the experience is going to be a five star experience.

Yelp
We went here for our Honeymoon the day after our wedding. This lodge was absolutely amazing. We had a spectacular view. It has easy access to town and restaurants so once you're there, you have no need to drive anywhere else. The reception was fantastic - helped us to our room and even gave us a tour of everything inside. Concierge was helpful any time we needed something and even called to remind us of reservations! It was a honeymoon we will never forget!

liz t.

Yelp
What a vacation. The room was amazing. It felt like a home away from home. I love not having to tip and I can tell the focus is on service. They always tried to go the extra mile. I wish we had more time. It was great to have coffee ready in the morning in the lobby.

Yelp
Best ski town in the US. My family has been owners at the FKL for 15+ years and it has always been an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are large and comfortable and the location is right in the middle of mountain village. I've been to many of the west coast ski resorts and Telluride is by far the best. I would HIGHLY recommend the FKL to any family!!!
