Fairmont Monte Carlo

"The next best thing to being a Monégasque? Surely a stay at the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Brand standards ensure spectacular services and top notch amenities and comfort. Iconic views of both sea and Grand Prix road below the cantilevered hills ensure that guests slide into the prestigious fantasy of the place with nary a hitch."

"Perched above the seafront on a steep, curved road, the Fairmont Monte Carlo is not necessarily the most luxurious or stylish place in the principality, but it’s a solid four-star choice, particularly for groups, conventions, and business travelers. The 602 rooms and suites vary in size, but all have comfortable, classic decor, necessary amenities, and some level of sea view. The hotel lobby is always humming with activity, thanks to the clanging slot machines of the on-site Sun Casino, and the steady stream of both hotel and outside guests frequenting celebrated Japanese restaurant Nobu, the Horizon Deck restaurant and Champagne bar (which boasts 360-degree views), and the all-day Saphir24 Bistro (which also serves a popular Sunday Jazz brunch and transforms into a late-night spot on the weekends). Additional summer season fun can be found at the Nikki Beach at Fairmont Monte Carlo all-day pool party. Other highlights include the Willow Stream Spa, where you can snack on healthy bento boxes in the post-treatment rooms, or visit the in-house hairdresser and make-up artist to prepare for an evening on the town."

I have a long history with this hotel, back to when it was called Loews!! What was wonderful was seeing a handful of staff from 25 years ago who remembered my family. It felt like coming home. The new renovations are fabulous and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast is a feast, a bit of everything for everyone. The view is outstanding. The service very professional and the manager, Jeff, greeted everyone personally and was on top of his game. Lunch was very good with a reasonable plat du jour and café gourmand. Excellent quality and price. The voituriers on duty during my stay had known my parents and added the extra special moments during my 5 day stay. The views have been spoilt due to the new buildings reclaimed from the sea however this hotel is just the right size to make you feel at home. Bravo!

We stayed in the Fairmont Monte Carlo for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. Nestled between the famous Grand Prix hair pin bend and the Mediterranean Sea. We had a garden view suite that was spacious and peaceful with the lovely sound of birds song from the balcony. |The team gifted us a bottle of champagne and chocolates to help us celebrate, waiting in the room when we arrived. The pool and surrounding lounge area was wonderful to relax and the cocktails were delightful. |We had lunch and breakfast in the Amu restaurant which is a lovely location to soak up the sun and watch the waves. The wine selection was fantastic and service was exceptional. |We had dinner in Nobu which was wonderful food, service and atmosphere. The hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing and also relaxing and the whole team are dedicated to service and experience that makes it a perfect place to stay.

Just back from 4 nights at the Fairmont and I think it was our best ever stay. From the moment we arrived, it was perfect. We were upgraded to a really lovely room, spacious and very convenient for the lift. Not only that, but we were able to check in early so our holiday started straight away. We were greeted by a welcome note and a box of chocolates too.|We had the fabulous breakfast each day at AMU which we really enjoyed and also our visit for welcome drinks in the Lobby Bar. Excellent cocktails!|We certainly didn’t want to go home so to feel a bit better about leaving, we booked our next stay in April whilst we were still there, this time for 5 nights!|Lovely member of staff checked us out so from start to finish, the staff were superb.|If you have ever wondered if loyalty pays off, I can assure you that in this Fairmont it absolutely does.

BAR REVIEW. Came here late Saturday night for drinks at the lobby bar—so happy they were open late! Service was excellent, the bartenders made great cocktails and shots. It’s a great chill area for drinks and I believe it has a view of the water but it was too dark to see—probably beautiful during the day). Hotel itself looks nice and spacious.

First time in Monte Carlo and we chose the Fairmont. We had read the reviews and have been to another Fairmont hotel. It did not disappoint. |The front is understated and the building is a 70s design. The lobby inside is spacious and luxurious. The staff members are welcoming and courteous and don’t leave you waiting. They really want to make your stay a 10 out of 10. |We chose a sea view room. We could have chosen the ‘hairpin bend’ view, but always choose the ocean if it’s available. |The room, balcony and the views were superb. The buildings surrounding the Fairmont on the ocean side are futuristic and quite beautiful. We were on the 6th floor and could also just peek at the marina. We watched more than one super yacht sail off into the sunset. It really was wonderful. |Regarding the hairpin bend and the whole Monaco Grand Prix thing .. I know nothing about this sport but was amazed to see that outside the Fairmont a little collection of fans sit and wait on the hairpin bend every day, all day it seems, hoping to take pics of the luxury cars as they drive by.. and they do ! Never seen so many high end cars and how nice that they oblige these fans. The fans change of course ! The hotel literally sits on this bend. The location is brilliant for first time visitors like us. It’s near the pristine beach and beach restaurants, a stones throw from the iconic marina, located also above the famous Grand Prix ‘tunnel’ and you can walk through this to take you to the marina. It is next door to the casino, which is a beautiful building and also surrounded by designer boutiques and a very fancy and lovely shopping mall called the Metropole, which has some nice coffee places and eateries. Inside the Fairmont there is a very good gift shop, a roof top pool and spa and sauna, which we enjoyed, a Matcha bar and a selection of restaurants. There is a bus stop outside the hotel which takes you directly to Nice airport. |We went in October and the weather was great! Sunny and warm enough to sunbathe!|If you love all things Grand Prix, then this is a wonderful choice and if you know nothing about it, but want to experience Monte Carlo, it’s still a wonderful choice! |We can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend this hotel!

Room missing a lot of lights, very dark. Room not adapted for office work, no desk, no easy plugs for power. For the rest, the room is comfortable and well equiped, of good size. Some TV channels such as fashion TV are not working which is frustrating since they are not that much channels available. Entertainment system could be improved.

Valet car service Don’t bother using the telephone button that says valet, that is useless. They are not going to tell you even if you call down for your car, but they don’t get your car UNTIL you come down to the front of the hotel. It takes 30 min to get your car, but it works be nice if a person on the phone actually tells you this instead of taking your car number and pretending like they are going to pass along the message to valet

The hotel overall was disappointing. We had connecting rooms and specifically requested an extra bed during the reservation, but had to call reception to remind them and only around midnight did someone finally come to set it up. Then there’s their famous Nikki Beach, with ridiculously overpriced drinks a bottle that costs €30 in any regular shop is sold for €300there 😃 That’s not exclusivity, that’s daylight robbery. We’re always happy to pay for quality, but this was just absurd. The service was impersonal, and the overall experience terrible. Definitely not planning to return.
