A Deeply Disappointing Experience at Fairmont Monte Carlo – Unworthy of a 5-Star Rating||I stayed at the Fairmont Monte Carlo for 14 nights, expecting the comfort and service of a “home away from home.” Instead, it turned into one of the most frustrating hotel stays I’ve ever had.||From the start, check-in was dishonest. I had a confirmed reservation for a specific room type, but staff insisted I booked something else - and refused to even look at my proof. Only after arguing back and forth did they finally switch the room.||Then came the misinformation. The bellboy told us breakfast was included for all 14 days. When I checked with another staff member, I was told it wasn’t - and would cost €70 per person, per day. When I raised the issue, I was met with excuses, deflection, and zero accountability. I was even laughed at by the front desk when I mentioned how costly their mistake could have been.||The service throughout was equally poor - cold, dismissive, and unprofessional. Not once during my entire stay did I feel welcomed or respected. As a result, I chose not to spend a single cent at any of the hotel’s restaurants or bars, including Nobu and Amoo. They simply did not deserve my business.||Housekeeping was unacceptable. Used shower caps were taken out of the garbage and put back in the shower. Basic amenities like body wash, tissues, and slippers were never properly restocked.||What upset me the most wasn’t one single mistake - it was the pattern of negligence, dishonesty, and lack of care that lasted the full two weeks. Not one staff member ever followed up or took true responsibility.||The “5-star” label may apply to the building, but not to the experience. If you’re expecting luxury, hospitality, or even basic honesty, look elsewhere.
