Fairmont Monte Carlo

"The next best thing to being a Monégasque? Surely a stay at the Fairmont Monte Carlo. Brand standards ensure spectacular services and top notch amenities and comfort. Iconic views of both sea and Grand Prix road below the cantilevered hills ensure that guests slide into the prestigious fantasy of the place with nary a hitch."

"Perched above the seafront on a steep, curved road, the Fairmont Monte Carlo is not necessarily the most luxurious or stylish place in the principality, but it’s a solid four-star choice, particularly for groups, conventions, and business travelers. The 602 rooms and suites vary in size, but all have comfortable, classic decor, necessary amenities, and some level of sea view. The hotel lobby is always humming with activity, thanks to the clanging slot machines of the on-site Sun Casino, and the steady stream of both hotel and outside guests frequenting celebrated Japanese restaurant Nobu, the Horizon Deck restaurant and Champagne bar (which boasts 360-degree views), and the all-day Saphir24 Bistro (which also serves a popular Sunday Jazz brunch and transforms into a late-night spot on the weekends). Additional summer season fun can be found at the Nikki Beach at Fairmont Monte Carlo all-day pool party. Other highlights include the Willow Stream Spa, where you can snack on healthy bento boxes in the post-treatment rooms, or visit the in-house hairdresser and make-up artist to prepare for an evening on the town."

This place is horrendous! The staff for the most part is cold and unwelcoming. Made the huge mistake of spending my 40th birthday here. Im accustomed to the Fairmont in Scottsdale and San Francisco which are both top notch. You would think Monaco would be a home run, nope! Such rude people here. With the exception of the concierge who was trying to be kind, everyone else was rude and unimpressive. Called before we came as we are traveling as a family of 5 to ask if we could do a rollaway like we always do for our youngest son, and we were told “of course”. Walked in today exhausted from the lack of transportation options here and just needing to relax, but being told we would have to buy a second whole room… last minute. Well, for this price I would have just booked a suite! Then, even though it’s in the notes and I mentioned I’m here to celebrate my 40th not one single person wished a Happy Birthday. This is coming off graduating nursing school a month ago and the Fairmont San Francisco making me feel like royalty with hand written congrats and champagne and room upgrades. I wasn’t expecting any of that but, I was expecting a simple “happy birthday, ma’am” and decent service. Went to the bar for a coffee with Baileys only to get a cold coffee(not espresso) martini? I was pretty clear about a cup of coffee with shot of baileys. Bought my own champagne only to be told I can’t keep it in the fridge then having to go out of my way to get some ice in a bucket. These people don’t want to celebrate milestones with you and make you feel special, you are just a person holding a credit card. They are just trying to get as much money as they can for every little thing. All this and the hallways are dirty and banged up and the property isn’t even that impressive. Bird poop on the balconies, dirt in the hallways, hair left behind in the bathroom from previous customers. Stay somewhere else and save yourself the time and headache. I wish I didn’t have one night left, what a waste of time and money in Europe. Would have been better spent in Nice or Paris!

I have a long history with this hotel, back to when it was called Loews!! What was wonderful was seeing a handful of staff from 25 years ago who remembered my family. It felt like coming home. The new renovations are fabulous and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast is a feast, a bit of everything for everyone. The view is outstanding. The service very professional and the manager, Jeff, greeted everyone personally and was on top of his game. Lunch was very good with a reasonable plat du jour and café gourmand. Excellent quality and price. The voituriers on duty during my stay had known my parents and added the extra special moments during my 5 day stay. The views have been spoilt due to the new buildings reclaimed from the sea however this hotel is just the right size to make you feel at home. Bravo!

The booking was a bit complicated, we booked a 3 bedded room but got only 2. Also, the breakfast was forgotten in our reservation, but it got solved. The bathtub was clogged, but we quickly got a plumber by the hotel. However, we received an addition birthday gift which made us pleased. The requested services were quick and the breakfast was fresh. All in all we all enjoyed our stay.

The Fairmont is situated in an ideal location, so whether you're a grand prix fan, a lover of designer boutiques or love beautiful scenic views, this is the perfect hotel with gorgeous views of the sea and the surrounding areas The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff, especially the concierge were amazing! Transfers were arranged to and from the airport by the hotel staff and the service was prompt and exceptional.||It was my nephew's birthday and when we entered our room, we were greeted with a lovely set up of luxurious cakes and decorations to celebrate. |We will definitely revisit!

This is my second visit to this hotel. My first visit was the Japanese restaurant for lunch. The food was fresh and delicious. This time we thought we tried the afternoon coffee and cake. The mille-feuille chocolate cake was delicious with sprinkles of gold leaves. I wasn't expecting that. The lobby lounge bar was comfortable with a fabulous seaview. The server was friendly. The decor was a bit dated.

We stayed in the Fairmont Monte Carlo for our 20th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. Nestled between the famous Grand Prix hair pin bend and the Mediterranean Sea. We had a garden view suite that was spacious and peaceful with the lovely sound of birds song from the balcony. |The team gifted us a bottle of champagne and chocolates to help us celebrate, waiting in the room when we arrived. The pool and surrounding lounge area was wonderful to relax and the cocktails were delightful. |We had lunch and breakfast in the Amu restaurant which is a lovely location to soak up the sun and watch the waves. The wine selection was fantastic and service was exceptional. |We had dinner in Nobu which was wonderful food, service and atmosphere. The hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing and also relaxing and the whole team are dedicated to service and experience that makes it a perfect place to stay.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Monaco. Outstanding service and truly professional staff. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and recently renovated, which makes the stay extremely comfortable. Everything is well maintained, elegant, and perfectly located. I would be happy to return and highly recommend this hotel.
