Came to Pittsburgh for a wedding and to go to the Steelers game. Brian was amazing. He helped unload my suv which took 2 carts. He remembered my name, my son's name who was in a different suite and always asking if anything we needed. The Vallet parking guys were great in always having my vehicle ready. Love having a Starbucks inside hotel. They could have used more help as took longer than normal to get just a coffee. Room was clean and comfortable. View of PNC skating, river and Incline was perfect. If noise in the hallways, never heard any noise even sleeping in late. Will absolutely stay here again.

Pros: Fairmont Pittsburgh located in heart of Pittsburgh city, very convenient to explore the city. The hotel room had big windows with nice views. Interior decoration also looked nice and chic. They gave us different kinds of pillows from firm to plush. That helped us a lot since I always had problems hotel pillows were too soft. Staffs were nice and helpful. Cons: the bathroom wasn’t clean. We could see build-up dirtiness in the sink, and hair from previous guess. Also, the building wasn’t completely quiet. We could here noises from the city even we stayed in 21st floor. We could here neighbors when they walked out hallway.

The room was not cleaned. Called the front desk to ask that it be cleaned due to my husband's allergies being heavily impacted by the dust. They came but the place was surface cleaned and things like the phone, night stand, desk. Towel bar in bathroom were not cleaned appropriately. Room service was terrible!!!!! Ordered $150.00 worth of foodthat was not edible. Ordered breakfast via room service 2 days in a row and it did not show up. Poorest experience for a 5 star hotel I've ever had. If you don't want to be responsible for providing an awesome experience please don't charge as if you are the Ritz Carlton . The Spa was a great experience and we were allowed early check in which we paid for. And they gave us late check out. We will never stay here again and you shouldn't either if you value great customer service and great food service

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. Stephanie was great about keeping my room clean and having plenty of towels for me. We were a large group of 10 people with golf bags and luggage. Anatta, Alex, Conor, and Dakota all were great at servicing my odd requests. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in downtown Pittsburgh.

Didn't stay @ the hotel but ate @ the restaurant, Fl2. Attempted to make a reservation earlier in the day but had to leave a voice message & did not get a response. My date & I showed up when the restaurant opened @ 5. Was told there was a wedding down the hall & the restaurant was completely booked but we could sit in the bar area & order dinner there. We seated ourselves at a small table with low, uncomfortable chairs. The bar tender took our drink order fairly quickly & gave us a menu. The bar soon became crowded & quite noisy so the bartender became busy serving wedding guests. When we were ready to order our meal we could not grab his attention so as I made my way to locate the ladies restroom, I mentioned it to the host at the check-in & he said he would take care of it. When I got back my date said the bartender did come over to the table & said he would return to take our order. In the meantime the manager stopped by our table & asked if we needed anything. My date told her that we noticed several empty tables in the restaurant & asked if we could get a table. She said she would check & when she returned she ushered us to a table next to the fireplace on thet wall (making me a very happy girl!) The restaurant/bar manager took our food order quickly & our meals were excellent as expected! I would like to give honorable mention to not only the restaurant manager but also to this very personable parking valet. 💗

We were charged twice for the room and when we questioned the staff we were told the extra $380 was for incidentals. Our stay was the weekend of October 22. At 11:45 pm, while sound asleep, the fire alarms went off with flashing lights and sirens. We were told to evacuate the building. We made our way down 23 flights of stairs, through a maze of hallways to the lobby. At that point we were told we could use the elevator and go back to our room. When I requested a late check out, it was denied. As for the spa, I could not reach anyone by phone or in person to schedule a service. The sauna was broken and overall it was very disappointing. We were also charged $29.96 for another guest's room service.

Not quite as fancy as I expected, but this is a good hotel just the same. All of the front desk staff are very eager to assist with bags, valet, and directions. We had some weird experiences here because the registration system was down while we were checking in, which later caused problems for us with room service and the electronic keys. We also had a random interruption from maintenance and a phone call in the middle of the night, but otherwise it was a very peaceful stay. Wifi VERY FLAKY.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Fairmont Pittsburgh. I just found it to be lacking luxury touches, for one of the higher priced hotels in Pittsburgh and for the Fairmont reputation. There was no mini refrigerator, no bottled water, no coffee in the room - just lacked little touches that I feel like add comfort and luxury to the stay.

Yelp
Enjoyed my short one night stay on business in Fairmont in downtown Pittsburgh. Classic Fairmont right in the middle of everything. Excellent service, got upgraded to nice suite on a high floor as ALL Platinum Member Quiet luxury, a bit old fashioned perhaps. Nothing to complain about whatsoever. The rooms are tastefully decorated, clean, and smell nice. Spacious bathroom with high quality toiletries. The rate was quite reasonable too. The restaurant and bar are also nice. Would like to be back, if travel to Pittsburgh.

Yelp
I had a fantastic stay at the Fairmont. Upon arriving I saw the nearest garage had a "Garage Full" sign, so I went to valet. When I explained the situation the valet driver told me to try and go back, because it probably was full earlier but there was just a shift change so likely there's empty stalls. So, I did as he suggested and he was right - there were so many empty stalls! I was thrilled to save money! The hospitality didn't end there. The front desk was so nice upon check-in. Anytime I went into the lobby I was warmly greeted. I also became aware how vigilant the staff is as little comments made indicated they knew my coming and going. When a massive rainstorm rolled in they offered my friends umbrellas despite them not staying at the hotel. They told them just to bring the umbrellas back the next day when they saw me. The room was nice. The view was fantastic. I stared out of those windows for a long time. I slept very well! I would return here again!

Yelp
Received a facial gift certificate as a gift and I was thrilled with the beautiful facility. Rachel was amazing! Professional and detailed w/a great energy! Definately recommend a visit!

Yelp
This is rated a 5 star hotel. We did a 3 night stay. The room was cleaned everyday. The bed was super comfortable. They also have a top rated restaurant on the 2nd floor. We chose this hotel because it was in close range to all sporting venues. Our room view was of PNC Park and a close walk to Acrisure Stadium and PPG Paints Arena. This hotel was also close to market square and had great dinning options near by. Plus there's a Starbucks in the lobby. I would stay here again.

Yelp
This review is for the spa only: My best friend gifted me a 60 min Swedish massage for my birthday. I walked over to the Fairmont after work and headed up to the third floor for my massage. I checked in around 3:30 and the receptionist gave me a tour of the facilities. She also gave me a complimentary glass of champagne while I waited. The women's locker room includes a steam room and sauna that guests can use before or after their service. My massage was the best one I've ever had. Rhyian was extremely professional and targeted my upper back and shoulders like I requested. The whole experience left me feeling extremely relaxed rejuvenated. I will definitely be back to the Fairmont spa again.

Yelp
The check in process was horrible. Elevators were extremely slow all weekend. Constantly waiting 5 minutes or more to go up or down. Physical hotel itself was fine. Location is great. Supposedly this is Pittsburgh's first five star hotel . I could tell. They don't know what the experience should be. I'd say it's a 5 star physical property with a 2-star-like guest experience.

Yelp
Pros: - A beautiful view of the city from the rooms - Very friendly staff - Gorgeous lobby - Awesome bar (didn't try the restaurant) Cons: - Tattered old furniture in very bad condition - Broken ice and water machines - Terrycloth robes were very scratchy and irritating - Absolutely no complimentary amenities, not even coffee or breakfast in the mornings. -$250 a night for a one bed room In summary, when staying at the Fairmont you are paying 5 star prices for an experience like a roadside motel with a nice view and a great bar!

Yelp
Nice room but everything else was abysmal. My husband and I arrive on Amtrak from Philadelphia to a run-down station that is obviously in the wrong part of town. We get an Uber ride to the Hotel which is also in the wrong part of town. When we check in around 9.30 and we are informed at the Front Desk that we are lucky - that food is served at the upstairs restaurant and room service is available until 10pm. We go upstairs to the restaurant to discover that NO food is available - the kitchen closes at 9pm. Ok, so we decide to go to The Capital Grill. Unfortunately the Grill is also closed and following their directions to another restaurant Jack and I get lost and get separated. And it's scary. I had never seen anything like the poverty that surrounds this hotel. The number of homeless, the drug addicts and the mentally Ill are staggering. It's very frightening. Eventually I make it back to the hotel using my phone GPS. I decide to wait for Jack in the lobby. I need to go to the bathroom. I use the 2nd floor bathroom. I enter the stall, take my seat and start doing my business. Just then, I hear the restroom door open and a bang bang bang on the stall door. COME OUT WITH YOUR ID AND ROOM KEY! I ask him to give me a few seconds to wrap up, exit the stall and show him my key and ID. He says that he saw me on camera and that he thought I was a homeless person who gained access to the hotel. I said that I was a guest of the hotel showing him my key and ID. He said ok with NO APOLOGY, whatsoever. Shortly after I get a call from Jack who's hysterical and lost. We lose contact and the next time he calls he says that he has gained sanctuary at a Hilton a few blocks away and that the night clerk is very nice. I look up the Hilton on my phone GPS and I am confident that I can get there. So I go there and am relieved to find Jack. We walk back to the Fairmont hôtel vowing never to return to Pittsburgh again after this visit and to NEVER, EVER stay at another Fairmont hotel. The next morning it transpires that THEY DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST. They normally serve lunch but because of some glitch that day (a Saturday) there is no lunch either. There is a Starbucks on/adjacent to the property. However, that morning the restroom toilet is clogged and there is water everywhere. It will be a couple of hours before it opens. I am hungry and suddenly remember seeing a delicious-looking green apple in the fitness room. Jack says that he would like one as well. When the get there there is only ONE apple so I start to look around for second one. A few minutes later the elevator opens and GUESS WHO? Yes, it's the same security guy from the night before. Your key and ID please and what are you doing sneaking around the fitness center. I show him my key and ID and tell him that I am only searching for a second apple. He says ok get back to your room! NO APOLOGY, whatsoever. It's time to leave and get back home to LA. Jack and I renew our vows: never return to Pittsburgh and NEVER stay at another Fairmont Hotel.

Yelp
Very large central hotel. The front desk agents were very nice and informative. We had night cap at the bar and it was good. The valet also super quick and polite the only issue we had was how outdated and worn down our room was. We got the one bedroom suite and paid well over $500. It was huge especially for being in a downtown big city. However the carpet was disgustingly dirty and stained. The furniture had bleach sprays and stains all over. Even if the stains were not there the furniture had to be from at least the early 90s. Very strange and threw the whole hotel off for me.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Fairmont hotel. This hotel is located in the heart of Pittsburgh. It's a short walk to PNC park. Our suite was really big with a nice view of the city.

Alison W.

Yelp
Clean hotel in a great location in downtown and easy to get to from the airport. The 28X flyer goes directly to/from the airport for only $2.75 versus a $30 Uber or $50 cab (per the concierge). Very close to Market Square and a lot of restaurants and bars. The hotel rooms have great views and were clean, but definitely a bit worn and on the older side (our bed sheets had holes in them) and glasses in the room were dirty. The Le Labo toiletries are a nice touch. The concierge was very friendly and helpful and gave great restaurant recommendations. While it wasn't the fanciest hotel, it was a great place to stay.

Yelp
On September 2, 2023, my parents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. My brothers and I booked them a king bed with a river view, along with dinner reservations at Floor 2 and Brunch reservations the next day. I cannot say enough good things about this property! Alex at the front desk was AMAZING. He made sure everything was perfect for them. He got them an early check in and put them on the presidential floor. He also made sure they had a late check out, so they were not rushed leaving. Everyone seemed to know it was their special day, as all were wishing them a Happy Anniversary. My parents felt so spoiled and said that everything from the lobby to their room was perfect, beautiful, and so clean and crisp. The staff was exceptional; so kind and accommodating. For dinner at Floor 2, Jered was their server. He went above and beyond to make their dinner a special treat. He even called me prior to check on any dietary needs and told me he was all over this to make it special. Truly outstanding service all around. They felt like royalty, and I couldn't be happier. My parents are still talking about it and telling everyone. The Fairmont Pittsburgh certainly helped to make my parent's diamond anniversary one to remember. Thank you, a million times! Whether you are celebrating a special event or traveling for work or pleasure, you can't go wrong with the Fairmont Pittsburgh.

Yelp
Based on the room's cleanliness, I would give the hotel one star. But, the consummately professional and friendly front desk staff inspired me to bump that up to three stars. We booked 8-nights here after coming to the wonderful Floor 2 restaurant on our last two trips and loving it (in addition to the custom le Labo soaps). However, our room was unacceptably dirty -- not just one or two issues, either: hairs and pubes in the bathroom, mucky mirror and reflective tray, stains on the carpet and upholstery, and more than a day's worth of brown grime caked onto the grout, etc. We were offered a replacement room of the same tier (on a lower floor) -- but, it had the same latter two problems! Later, we learned that it isn't a 5-star hotel as Google claims, but rather 4.5-stars (a class we didn't know existed), which translated to the rooms being cleaned every third day. The housekeeping team and quality control standards fall short of our expectations, but they comped two nights of our stay, so we're staying. Also worth noting, someone from housekeeping woke me up knocking on the door (for the third time today), despite the "do not disturb" sign hanging outside signaling to not do that. Perhaps he thinks his time is more important than ours, perhaps he is new and doesn't know better, or perhaps he was reprimanded and determined to clean the room and make things right: in any case, there is no justification for breaching international decorum and displaying our expressed wishes. The kitchen took our breakfast order after closing and the front desk offered us late checkout, so it really is just housekeeping that leaves more to be desired.

Yelp
Not exactly plush but it is one of the nicer places available in the area! The best thing about this location is the friendly and attentive staff. They are amazing. Unfortunately the experience wasn't great. Had an emergency so I had to check out early and understandably they had to charge me for the day. Either way I was glad not to spend another night in Pittsburg.

Mary Beth A.

Yelp
I stayed just one night, and part of the hotel was under construction. The view from my room was fantastic !! -- floor to ceiling windows -- because some of the curtains were missing. That's the best thing I can say about the stay -- great views. The room was not clean -- not terribly dirty, but dusty and a little beaten up looking. A little paint/polish would fix it. Some mildew/mold in the shower -- it really shows up with all that modern white... I was not told when I checked in that breakfast was by reservation only, or that I could order it and pick it up. I found that out when I went down to the restaurant for breakfast. So I went back to make a cup of coffee while I packed to leave. No coffee cups!!! and only decaf in the coffee bar ... So, a poor value for the high cost, although the location was perfect for the Symphony. I won't be back

Jenna N.

Yelp
I went here for my friend's bachelorette weekend and was blow away by the amazing customer service we received from everyone on staff! They were so friendly and attentive. The facilities are beautiful; there is a wonderful view of the city in the lounge area, and everything was crisp and clean! We really enjoyed the sauna and steam room, too, in addition to our massages and nail services. Thank you very much!

Yelp
I have never stayed in the Fairmont, but I have stopped in their lobby multiple times. The front always has security and valet, and looks very classy. When you walk in there is a huge beautiful fireplace with cool furniture. I love the bright purple/blue egg chairs all around the lobby. The workers are always friendly. While waiting to meet someone in the lobby I could hear people checking in since it was about that time. The guests seemed happy and the staff was overly accommodating. They used to have jazz in the bar on certain nights, and it was such a pleasant place to relax and listen. I like it because it is a central meeting spot downtown, and you can go in the lobby instead of waiting somewhere outside by yourself. In between meetings the other day, I decided to work in their lobby. I knew there would be power outlets and work spaces. It was a very relaxed atmosphere in the middle of the day. I really hope they open their bar again soon. It was always a cool place for people watching. At Christmas time, this is one of my favorite places in the city to stop and look at the decorations. Their lobby is always decorated so beautifully.

Sally K.

Yelp
A nice location, but this is a tired hotel (torn pillowcase, worn towels and sheets), and they nickel and dime their guests to death. It started with driving into the self-park. After checking in, we decided to valet instead so that we could have in-and-out privileges. They charged us $7 to leave the self-park. There were also charges for valet, pet, water, internet, Netflix, etc. And then an additional "tax surcharge" on all of those surcharges. Next time, we'll look into staying at one of the many, many other hotels in the same convenient area, instead of being afraid to sneeze for fear of a "sneezing charge."

Mary S.

Yelp
We totally enjoy the bar on the second floor. Fl-2 - Beautiful and trendy. Our bartender is excellent and perfectly chilled dirty martini made me smile pretheatre. Friendly and a fabulous mixologist! You get what you pay for and their glassware is stunning! Highly recommend and always happy to see him on our visits to the city! Hotel is first class and beautiful too! I apologize I cannot name the bartender at this moment but he's great!

Yelp
Overall, a very disappointing experience. Check in was painless enough. Upon entering my room, I discovered that this was a "wheelchair accessible" room (judging from the specific layout of the shower and the lower access eye hole in the door). I'm not in a wheelchair, so that didn't bother me. What did concern me was this room was the farthest room from the elevator, as well as the ice dispenser, and access to the room was only possible after entering through another doorway (leaving very little maneuverability to get to the door if you were in a wheelchair). Now onto my personal experience. I returned to my room late, and at around 1am had to use the bathroom. Imagine my surprise when my toilet wouldn't flush completely. The water level rose and fell, but NOTHING FLUSHED AWAY. Then I discover that my bed sheets have a nice hole in them. And then to top it off, my room had NO ICE BUCKET. I couldn't even enjoy using the internet, as they charge you an additional $15 (on TOP of the $280 room charge) if you want to enjoy wifi. SERIOUSLY? A $280 room doesn't include wifi when a $50 Days Inn does? And I'm not a religious man, but I did find it interesting that the room also lacked the stereotypical Gideon's Bible. I suppose there's an extra charge for that as well. Fortunately, this was a business trip which was covered by the company. I know that I would NEVER choose to stay in a hotel like this. Ever.

Yea L.

Yelp
I would like to give a zero star for this hotel for a ridiculous extra charge for $77.04. I reached out to the hotel thru emails and never got back to me. And I called them and They(Alex) claimed me drink waters and eat something at mini bar. Ironically, they didn't provide bottle of water to me and also I never open the fridge. Since I was there for a few hours, I checked-in at 4 PM, went to a business dinner, and only slept over for a few hours. This is really unreasonable charge to me. I said I wan to talk to the management and they even told me to wait until morning to call their accounting department and dispute this. I will post in here and hope to get my full extra charge back for $77.04

Charlie A.

Yelp
This is probably the worst fairmont I have stayed at and I've stayed at many. I have been here a few times. Recently I had to get them to clean our rooms again bc it was dirty (hairs in shower, carpet dirty). Most recently we leave and it's nearly noon and management didn't even care to check lobby and elevators. Cups from the night before and trash still in the elevators. Empty white claws and cups in the lobby near the elevators. Management is not good here. I recommend the William Penn or the kimpton.

D W.

Yelp
Not the fanciest or nicest hotel but very convenient location. Nice lobby. Friendly service. Parking was $30 a night - yikes. Not cool. Seemed to have a police and security presence all around. Felt safe walking around the vicinity. Check in and out a breeze. Room was clean and OK - view of the city was nice. Bed was comfortable. But the did use a regular sheet as the mattress sheet, a bit odd to me. Fitness center was excellent. Had peloton bikes. Locker rooms were excellent. Steam and sauna rooms as well as showers. Very clean. Spa was nice - massages were subpar for $129 a person. I would not get a massage there again. Restaurant is closed. But walk two minutes to Gaucho Argentinian restaurant and thank me later. Had the government discount rate @ $124/night. Hard to beat rate for a 5 * hotel. And kinda hard to believe it was a 5* hotel honestly. Will check out the Drury next trip.

Habib A.

Yelp
This is a completely middling hotel. It is absolutely not high end. Also, this hotel has nothing at all to do with the Fairmont brand. I stay at Fairmont hotels often and this hotel has absolutely none of the services that Fairmont clearly states on their website, nor even close to the customer service or support you'll find at other Fairmont hotels. I would say less than 50% of staff wear masks, which is of course perfectly lawful...but if a level of care from the staff is important to you, you won't find that here. Also to be clear, they will not service your room because of COVID (they say "out of care for the safety of us and their staff"), but they also will not wear masks at the front desk. Interesting. I'm sure most know that most hotels are independently owned and operated...but while most other fairmonts I've been to have a very high standard, this one is very poor. Anyway. It's a nice location if you want to go to a Steelers or Pirates game. And the hotel is fine, but just probably not worth the money. Far from high end.

Wil C.

Yelp
Excellent hotel in the heart of Pittsburgh. It is walking distance or a free train ride to all of the main attractions so there is no need to rent a car if you are flying in from out of town. Plenty of really good dining options a block away at Market Square. Room was clean, quiet and had a nice sized bathroom. Also had a nice view of the river and baseball park. And if you base your hotel decision on the fitness amenities like I do they have a really nice well-equipped gym where you can easily do a full body workout. It's definitely one of the nicer hotel gyms I've been to. Customer service at this hotel was top notch. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, especially the concierge standing in the lobby area. Look forward to staying here again next time I'm in town!

Yelp
This place need a lot of work Theses are way to high for a very run down hotel .. needs a major remodeling I won't be back This place gives Fairmont a very bad name this place doesn't compare to most Fairmonts

Yelp
I was totally surprised by the hotel. I never expected this for the Legendary Haunt tour. Upon checking in, I could tell that this was a special place, since the keys were the only way to get to the floors we were on. My room, on the 22nd floor, over looked the river side, At dusk, the lights of the city really lit up and gave me the most beautiful view of Pittsburgh I've ever had. The room was large and filled with amenities: A large soaking tub and separate shower. High end soaps and shampoos. A Keurig and tea kettle. The bed was super comfy and warm. There was a special set up for wireless so you could connect your device and see it on the TV. Service was always exquisite, the people from every level were always friendly and welcoming. The lobby was amazing. It really was simply one of the most stunning hotels I've had the ability to stay in. I LOVED it. The drawbacks? $15 a day for wireless. A rum and coke in the bar $9.00

Kipling M.

Yelp
Great location and friendly lobby. The room staff is obviously under staffed. I would have preferred the hotel admit that upfront versus making me beg for toilet paper. We are a family of 4 staying in a room for 4 days and received 4 towels and 1/2 roll of paper. By day 3 I called at 7:30 am for basic essentials and no one showed. At 9 pm when back I called again and received basics. We paid enough to not feel like staying in a youth hostel. I like this hotel and have stayed here several times. Just be warned you will not be receiving service level you might expect!!!

Yelp
I brought my mother for a 'big' birthday and the entire experience was fantastic. First, the acknowledgement by all of the staff we encountered was tremendous - everyone we passed greeted her with a smiling "happy birthday!" - it was as if they posted a pic of her all around for people to know who she was! Other highlights: - The welcome cake and chocolates were a big surprise! Lovely! - Spa was incredible, as usual. Jessica (massage) and Nora (facial) were fabulous, and having Georgine come in for her pedicure was above and beyond! - Jarod topped it all off with over-the-top service at FL2, making the entire experience memorable and celebratory. You have a real star with him :) It was perfect. They really nailed it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Well done!

Mallvinder K.

Yelp
Hotel is in the heart of downtown and boy let me tell you, this is the best view I've ever had from a hotel. We had 3 rooms on different sides and each room had an amazing view of the city. Hotel itself had a great ambiance. Shutout to the front staff at the door. Helped us in and out , provided secure entrance, and helped us with local spots.

Claire B.

Yelp
This is in regards to the spa: I had been in contact with the supervisor and exchanged several emails about booking services for a bachelorette spa day. I had emailed back with the appointments I wanted to book and then was in contact about booking an area for the bride and girls to spend the day in. I had even been in contact about getting food and drinks. We arrived the day of our reservations only to find out they were never put into the system. The one gentlemen had stated that his manager told him about the lounge area being reserved for us, but when he went to find our appointments for the spa they were no where to be found. I was then directed to talk to the supervisor where he stated I never told him what I wanted, but I was able to show him the email where I did in fact state which appointments we wanted booked. He then proceeded to state he was sick and they never got booked. No appointments were available for us that day, and my best friends bachelorette spa day was ruined

Benjamin B.

Yelp
I paid over $800 per night to stay at the Fairmont Pittsburgh on 7/9/19. When I arrived at around 6:45, the guy at the front desk said they couldn't find my reservation. When I produced an confirmation #2435448558 PIN #8354, the guy at the front desk became this passive aggressive, unhelpful jerk. He shunted me aside to help other customers, acted like i was making the whole thing up, and then claimed he had to go into the Booking.com reservation system and that they had no rooms. He just then said with dripping sarcasam "Book somewhere else.." A complete jerk like this guy should not be in hospitality business. I have spent well over $50K at Fairmonts in my life. I will never go back and am banning from my company travel. The concierge is super nice though, so I gave then an extra star. Stay at the Hotel Monaco just down the street. They are lovely and competent.

Yelp
Terrible!! Don't stay here!! We stayed here for the Rolling Stones concert on 10/4/21, and this place doesn't even have the hotel bar open!! It is unbelievable, with a sold out, WAY overpriced hotel, that they wouldn't have the bar open after the concert! Don't stay here. Customer service was weak as well!!

Yelp
Pick any other hotel in downtown Pittsburgh at least you'll get what you Pay for the Fairmont charges for services they don't give how about a concierge desk nonexistent pushed into a corner not used front desk people not knowledgeable as a concierge paid for breakfast had to go up to her room and wait for room service which came late and then never took the food I had to take the food and put it in the hallway the same with my dirty towels go anywhere in Pittsburgh but the Fairmont

Yelp
5 star prices ; 3 star hotel. Requested house keeping and was told it was best effort. Never showed. Staff is pleasant, but there is no way that with lack of service and marginal cleanliness this hotel is a luxury hotel. Hair in shower and on towels. Rooms are average, middle of the line hotel. Had heard that since fairmont was taken over by Accor that the quality has gone down. I would say in my experience it is true.

Yelp
I cannot understand why anyone would give this hotel anything but five stars. Located smack dab in downtown Pittsburgh, the Fairmont could not have a better location. Soaring above the buildings around it, the hotel's views of Pittsburgh and the river are fantastic. This is a big city, sophisticated hostelry. Staff is professional, well trained and friendly, like almost everyone in the city of Pittsburgh. Our king bed room was large, with a comfortable bed, good lighting, plenty of outlets, and the requisite television with dozens of channels. The bathroom was quite large, having both a tub and walk in shower. Towels were thick and luscious. Amazingly, the Fairmont Pittsburgh had Le Labo toiletries from the famed Le Labo perfumery in Nolita. Wow, I know how expensive these toiletries are. Toto fixtures are an added luxury. The hotel's Floor 2 restaurant has great reviews, and the lobby Andy's bar was hopping at midnight the Friday we arrived. Yes, some things are aging a bit, but a hotel cannot be refurbished every two years! Be realistic. Cleanliness can be better, but lousy housekeeping is endemic at hotels around the world. Interestingly, this problem is both political and cultural. Think about it. The sentiments propelling Brexit and the proposed "Wall" may have something to do with it. Yet, we were pleasantly surprised by the urbane affect of the Pittsburgh Fairmont, expected in New York and London, but not in the steel city. The icing on the cake was the Pittsburgh pricing, $184.00 a night. Bravo!

Yelp
I spent the night here on Sunday and it was nice. The hotel in general was very quiet. The front desk staff were all very friendly. I found $264 to be steep for one night in Pittsburgh. Parking cost me $30 for a whole day so $300 for my total cost for one night here. The room was very nice which was great. The restaurant on the 2nd floor was blah so I'd recommend walking around the corner to other establishments.

Yelp
Such a magical hotel! On my way to Pittsburgh a few months ago I was really looking forward to two things: 1) Spending time with Yelp Pittsburgh's lovely CM 2) Staying at the Fairmont While hanging out with Rachel C is never a let down, I was stoked that neither was my stay at the Fairmont. Sure, I may have not spent an incredible amount of time actually *in* the hotel during my two night stay, but the time I did spend in it was fabu. From the floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of Pittsburgh's famous PPG Building to a dizzying selection of canned nuts, I was living the life. The bed was comfy, my room was spacious and the bathroom was practical with a dash of modern luxury. The location was also clutch. I was just a quick walk from restaurants and theaters and it was never a hassle or stress to catch a cab with a little help from Fairmont's accommodating staff. While the rates might seasonally vary quite a bit, this will be my #1 go to any time I can swing it. It doesn't get much better than this!

Yelp
This review is for the Holiday Happy Hour event that the Fairmont hosted for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Pittsburgh. I chose this event and encouraged 6 of my friends to attend because it supported a good cause and I thought the Fairmont would be a fun venue for it. And it would have been if it were done right, but... I'm not sure who was actually in charge of this (Fairmont or Children's Hospital or a combination of the two), but there was a lot of confusion and false advertising going on here. Here's where they went wrong. The website said "Hors d'oeuvres, a specialty holiday cocktail, and festive music from DJ Malls will be provided. All proceeds benefit the Free Care Fund at Children's, a program that ensures every child in the region receives the expert care they need and deserve regardless of their families' insurance or ability to pay. Guests are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy or gift card (see Donation Guidelines). No cover charge." I get it...it's a fundraiser. I brought a nice toy as instructed and would have been happy to make a donation voluntarily; however, there was nothing voluntary about it. In order to receive the Hors d'oeuvres and specialty holiday cocktail "provided", you had to immediately pony up $10. Two staffers explained to my group (on several separate occasions as we arrived at different times) that for the $10 donation, you got unlimited sangria and Hors d'oeuvres (a selection of three bites). Annoying because that wasn't advertised, but no problem as I intended to donate anyway. If you didn't have cash, you were instructed to go to the bar to pay...except that no one told the bar, so they acted all confused and turned away two of my group. The floor servers were very friendly and came around with bites pretty often. The sangria, though, came around only about every half hour. After two rounds of sangria, the server who came with the third round said that they were mistaken and only the bites were unlimited. To get another sangria, we'd each have to pony up another $10. The sangria was mostly ice and cranberries/apples and wasn't all that great, so we declined and left. I feel like they'd have gotten a lot more money out of people if they'd just been clear and organized in the event advertisement and also at the event itself. As it was, we all felt extorted rather and generous and full of holiday cheer.

Yelp
This is not a full service hotel. There is no bar or restaurant Monday or Tuesday. There is no breakfast or lunch any day except Saturday or Sunday. The room service waits are interminable (45 - 60 minute waits) and the food quality is terrible. e.g., my New York Strip was burnt to a crisp. The rooms are fine and the hotel location is good. But this hotel is charging rates predicated on services it does not have and does not deliver. Despite its convenient location, I will not return.

Yelp
Not following said cleaning protocols, so come with low expectations. Simply put -- a major disappointment.

Yelp
Very disappointed about room. Definitely not a luxury hotel. Got a suite and it looks like some old outdated hotel. Furniture has holes and stains. Walls are chipped. There was food all over the floor. Obviously wasnt cleaned. If you are expecting a luxury hotel this definitely isn't it. Doesn't even compare to other downtown hotels like the kimpton, Renaissance, or Omni.

Yelp
Perfection! Had our daughter and now son-in law's wedding reception at the Fairmont Pittsburgh last night. The venue was elegant and fun, the food was not the usual and we heard raves, and the personal service was impeccable! This was a ballroom reception packed with charm. Special thank you to Rebecca, the wedding coordinator, as well as our gratitude to all of the staff (shout out to Shae and Teddi) who made the reception a beautiful beginning to a wonderful life.

Yelp
Nobody answers the phone. Can't make a reservation. Immediately placed on hold via machine and kept on hold for over 5 minutes. Then transferred to a 3rd party answering service. What kind of mismanagement is this? 5 star hotel? Sheesh.

Yelp
Every year, my mom and I travel to a different city for a Cubs game. This hotel was basically a straight shot to PNC Park, which was a huge plus and you could see the park from the hotel. Everything we needed was within walking distance so no need for a rental car during our trip. A huge surprise was seeing the Cubs players near the hotel and we ran into Maddon at the Dunkin Donuts :) The room was clean, nice, up-to-date and the service was great. Since almost everything in town closes early, luckily they had room service, which was good. They provided the condiments in cute little bottles. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you're in the area.

Yelp
Love the room and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. They have valet parking plus a parking garage with $7 self park on the weekends. Our bed is so comfy and the my have plenty of in room amenities robes, snack bar and kuerig machine, mini bar and the 10 foot floor to ceiling windows. We are watching a movie on demand right now. $18.99 to rent it though but if your paying for valet parking and the room in general what's another $19 right. Plus we are in the comfort of our own bed and regular movie tickets are just as much. They also have jaZz on the weekends from 8-12am in their lounge called Andy's. They have great truffle fries and a decent burger. Try it out.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to be invited here for a holiday event. I was looking forward to it because I heard there was going to be "Pittsburgh theme" catering from the hotel. At arrival I was disappointed because the food was not true to Pittsburgh style. I don't know where the shoe string fries come from. The perogies where not good very doughy "not shown in pictures" and same with the Mac and cheese. There was no favor to it very bland and dry. The Primanti style sandwiches I couldn't believe it all there seemed to be was fries lettuce and a ranch style sauce on the bun. I didn't even bother to try it. The bar was nice and the drinks where a little pricey. The decorations where very nice and the jazz band played very well. I won't be going out of my way to come here again.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. I was excited to head to the Fairmont for a wedding this winter- fairly new, right in the heart of the city and Christmas time! The venue was nice, we had a cocktail hour in a room right outside of the main reception area and it was very spacious. The hors d'oeuvres were very good: mini beef quesadilla, mini crab cakes and a variety of cheeses. The ballroom that he reception itself was in was very large with a dance floor in the middle. They set up a buffet on each side so things moved very quickly for dinner. Chicken parm, penne, fish with capers and tomatoes, and roasted vegetables were the choices. I had fish and vegetables and everything was still warm and pretty tasty. The staff was very nice and service was quick and clean!

Yelp
For the price this is a great place to stay if you do not require sleep and want to be up all night. But if you do require sleep I cannot recommend this place because for the two nights we were there the noise from the room next door from there partying all night and from their dog gave us no opportunity for rest. Complained to the hotel but they didn't do anything, or if they did was not effective. For the money at about $254 a night I cannot recommend staying at this location.
