33 Trips You Should Book a Year in Advance | Condé Nast Traveler

"For Carnaval in Rio I advise booking a hotel like the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana early—its proximity to the beachside parties makes it especially desirable and it fills up fast—because Carnaval requires competing with many travelers for parade tickets, top hotels, and restaurant reservations." - Charlie Hobbs, Jasmine Ting

Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana (Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro State) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If you’re reading this, you no doubt love boutique hotels, the more unusual the better. But let’s be honest. When you think of the classic Copacabana experience you’re likely imagining not a funky little art hotel but a luxurious tower, one from which you can take in the view of Sugarloaf Mountain, across the water, from an position that is both literally and figuratively above the commotion on the beach. This, as you may have begun to guess, is when you reach for a hotel like the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana." - Tablet Hotels

I really enjoy staying at this hotel. The view from the pool is UNMATCHED and the staff are always very helpful. I used the Spa for the first time and it was wonderful and i highly recommend. The rooms are very large and comfortable. I only wish i could control my room temperature because it was a little warm at night for me to sleep. Otherwise, I am very happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro. Our sea-view room had a stunning, picture-perfect view that made the trip feel extra special. The hotel is also in a great location for walking around the area, which we really enjoyed.||Check-in was a little slow, but the staff was warm and welcoming, and being offered a glass of champagne made the wait much easier.||The highlight of our stay was absolutely the breakfast. The food selection was excellent, and Marcio made the experience even better with his friendly, attentive service. He truly stood out.||Overall, a very good experience and a place we’d happily return to.

Best hotel in Rio by far. I’ve been coming to this hotel since July on a monthly basis due to work, the service is outstanding, very consistent. The hotel is well kept, have great views of Copacaana beach and Sugar Loaf, if you have an ocean front room. Special mention to the people that makes this an unforgettable experience: Daniel at the front desk, he will go above and beyond for every request you have. Livia and Marcio at the breakfast service, they are always on top of things, very professional, and Alfredo and Rafael at the hotel front, they make you feel like family.

We really enjoyed our breakfast, with the view and the vibe outside. Murilo made us feel so welcome, and took care of us. He recommended a local breakfast dish - a pancake made with tapioca. |We also loved Gustavo at the pool bar. He was very kind and accommodating.

We just spent wonderful (almost) two weeks at the Fairmont Copacabana. This is now my 3rd stay at this Fairmont and it was by far the best. We upgraded our room to be ocean facing (I highky reccommend this) and we were lucky enough to score a Fairmont Gold Suite as well. The Fairmont Gold team were exemplary in their service provision, from the check-in with Gabrielle, our butler Felipe, the breakfast team with Davi and Cauã, Giesa, Oriel and the team during the happy hour with extra special mention to Couto, and Thiago who went above and beyond to look after us and also the hostess Julia at the pool bar, Rafael at the front door. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, as was the meal we had MARINE RESTÔ. There is live music most nights by the pool, and the second pool out the back means you get the most of the afternoon sun too. The entire experience was truly memorable, and was the best way to enjoy a holiday. I sincerely thank the team there and will be looking to return in 2026. Obrigado.

Overall, the Fairmont Rio is a great luxury option located in the heart of Ipanema. The location could not be better - right by the beach and located near many shops and restaurants. Most staff members took their hospitality delivery to heart and made us feel extra special taken care of. Specifically, Daniel and Veronica from the Front Desk, Jacqueline from the Gold Lounge, Felipe our Gold Butler, and Nuebe from Management. We faced some challenges with suite noise, and the entire team leaned in to make sure we were able to find a suitable suite with peace and privacy. I greatly encourage the hotel to invest in double-paned windows and doors for the rooms, it would make such a difference in enjoyment. The rooms and suites feel like 1950 Rio Glamour, and I loved the hardwood floors and marble bathrooms. Linens, such as the towels and bed sheets, were very high quality cotton from Trousseau. The Trousseau shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc. smelled divine and was so high quality that we bought some from the Spa shop to take home. Some of the rooms are beginning to get a musty smell to it given the age of the building, so I encourage Management to do everything they can now to reduce the musty smell before it gets too late. Both pools are a sanctuary to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. On weekends they could be crowded, so make sure to be strategic about when you go to the pool. Food and beverages generally were delicious and reasonably priced given it is a luxury resort. The breakfast area in the main restaurant had a great selection of buffet and a-la-carte to order menu as well as a beautiful wraparound terrace with STUNNING views of Rio. We enjoyed that so much. We enjoyed the Gold Lounge as a private reprieve with wonderful service. We greatly enjoyed the breakfast and the evening canapés with the bartender who would make you whatever your heart desired. The staff at the Gold Desk were always available and helped us right away. PLEASE change the air scent in the Gold Lounge to something like a tropical coconut essential oil -- right now the air scent smells like a medical facility, it detracts, not adds, to the environment. Overall we would 100% come back to this luxury haven. Thank you to the staff for their warm hospitality. We'll see you again soon.

Fantastic experience at Fairmont Rio! Rooms gorgeous, service amazing and beautiful views. Food at Marine restaurant very good (both breakfast and dinner) and Murilo provided us with amazing service (truly above and beyond. I have been a returning guest at Fairmont many times and not without reason. The hotel delivers on all its stars. The location is exellent with Copacabana just across the street. You can enjoy the exellent breakfast with a stunning view over the whole Copacabana bay. Hotel facilities are top notch with two pools, a good gym and also a spa. The rooms are spacious, modern and well kept. The hotel also has a very good housekeeping staff that does an exellent job to keep everything tidy. Basically Fairmont is a hotel you will not forget once you have stayed there.
