Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana

Location of this hotel is perfect. Can’t get any closer to Copacabana beach. Stunning views of the bay from the breakfast cafe and main pool is the highlight. Has a secondary pool at the back for chilling out. Check in and check out experience on the 6 floor was somewhat average with the counter staff not very enthusiastic or flexible. Rest of staff from the guys at the front and concierge were amazing. Building facade and rooms appear to be dated and right time for a revamp. Still a 5 star hotel in my opinion.

Room was comfortable, breakfast was really good and service overall was fine. Only complaint is the noise. I had to call reception to change rooms because the room above mine had for 3 consecutive days people moving furniture up until midnight. They moved me to another room, which was better, but still you could still hear the noise from the street. They need to work on their noise canceling system.

We had an overall great experience. A little details that needed to be corrected were: very long check in with lots of info you don't need after a long flight, the staff does not 'read' you at all; quite messy housekeeping who puts your staff in what they believe is their 'order' (we could literally see the difference in shifts); not very friendly hostesses at breakfast (it always felt like you are begging them to seat you); some staff at time have been a little direct... we won't mention, but we believe service culture at the hotel of this class could be better.

I felt in heaven from the moment I got to the hotel until the last day, the hotels is absolutely because with the perfect location between both the best beaches copacabana and beaches ipanema. The room a service could not be better, they took care of all details. Breakfast was from a movie, amazing view and amazing food. They favourite part of it all is the designated beach they have specially for guests of the hotel, the chairs and umbrellas the beach, they saved your belongings while you were are the beach. Also, Etna was the nicest person in the breakfast we adored her. All staff was amazing, I honestly had the best week of my life at tha hotel, please see some of the pics. Please choose this hotel, you will absolutely love it.

Meh. Disappointed. We’ve stayed at many other Fairmont hotels and the Rio location doesn’t compare well. Prices: 5-star Room cleanliness: 3-star Service: 3-star The furniture needs a cleaning (see sofa pic). The bidet faucet is broken. Our ocean view room includes a trumpet playing reveille loudly just across the street at 6:00, 6:30, and 7:00 AM. I asked about changing rooms and was told there were no suites available. Room service was asked yesterday to clean the bathroom floor (pickup broken glass) and didn’t bother. Today, no water provided, so I purchased some in the coffee shop. Our check-in and interactions with the concierge were similarly disappointing. The wi-fi works only intermittently. One nice surprise was the gym. Large space and ample machines for a workout.

A fantastic hotel in such a perfect location! Check-in was crazy long, I will say, and the service was a bit slow all around. Outside of that though, the rooms were great, the views from the lobby / pool / dining area are fantastic, and the vibe of the hotel is great! I would stay again for sure! Just keep your expectations with the slow service. I also came during NYE week, so completely understand how busy it was.

Golden Days by the Sea at Fairmont Copacabana Our stay at Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel strikes a great balance between relaxed and polished, and we truly loved everything about it. The location is a big win. Being right on Copacabana and so close to Ipanema Beach made it easy to explore, and we felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. One of our favorite touches was the bikes. We rented them twice and loved riding along the beach, such a fun and effortless way to experience Rio. We also splurged on Fairmont Gold, and it was absolutely worth it. The Gold Lounge was excellent, calm, beautifully run, and a real upgrade to the overall experience. It added that extra layer of comfort that made the stay feel special. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a stylish, well-located, and memorable stay in Rio.
