Family stay, 17–24 October (room 106). I’m writing this so others don’t book on the strength of the website and assume it reflects what you’ll actually get. Even after I raised this in writing during the stay, the site still said “five exquisite restaurants and two stylish bars,” yet on our dates dinner meant two restaurants plus the bar. No clear pre-arrival notice; no transparent on-site explanation. At this price point, that gap matters.||Service swung from kind to chaotic: breakfast delays and misses; housekeeping not using obvious evening windows despite our having a young child; small room niggles that needed chasing.||Concierge is the real caution. We had written confirmations for two marquee experiences: buggy and camel “timed for sunset” (no camel element delivered), and a city tour “ending just in time to experience the sunset from a rooftop café” (we were back just after 4 pm, hours before sunset). After the fact, the story shifted to a “4-hour private experience” and that we “preferred to return”. In my view, treat concierge emails as marketing copy, not commitments: get specifics re-confirmed on the day or plan independently.||Think twice about using hotel transport. In a hotel vehicle we were aggressively tailgated and then overtaken at speed on the driveway. There was no contemporaneous incident log, no investigation we were told about, and no proactive follow-up until the tour operator became involved. That doesn’t inspire confidence in defensive-driving standards or safety procedures.||When issues were raised, the tone too often felt like gas-lighting: minimising, reframing, or implying guest choice rather than owning misses. Access to leadership was poor; the General Manager was effectively unavailable all week, and communication came via proxies. Some push-back was later conceded as incorrect, but only after repeated chasing.||It’s a beautiful property with some lovely staff, but the gap between advertising and delivery was persistent. My advice: before you book, ask in writing which dinner venues will actually be open on your dates; if you do use concierge, get timing and outcomes reconfirmed in writing on the day; if you use hotel transport, insist on clear safety protocols and incident logging.||Happy to update this review if the hotel corrects its website to reflect real availability and/or provides a reasonable response to the procedural concerns raised here, especially around safety.
