20 Gorgeous Hotels in Marrakech

"Around a 30-minute drive from the medina, this sprawling desert oasis offers an elevated take on barefoot luxury, with modern, palatial architecture, a vast outdoor swimming pool, a hammam-inspired spa, and even a golf course (the largest in Marrakech). Rooms here come with expansive bathrooms and dressing areas, as well as private balconies or gardens for the ground-floor suites, each facing the Atlas Mountains. The heart of the hotel is its outdoor water area, a series of glass-clear tiered ponds that cascade down to meet the 492-foot swimming pool, shaded by palm trees and peppered with sleek sun loungers and smart, Breton-clad waiters (a nod to Marrakech’s French-speaking side). Casting an eye towards the mountains, you’ll notice the difference between the sandy desert and the hotel’s bright green lawns; the resort cleverly found a type of grass that needs less water to thrive, one of the hotel’s many ingenious blends of sustainability and beauty. There are enough restaurants here to keep you sated all week, from the relaxed poolside lunch spot L’Olivier for fresh tabbouleh salads and sunshine-filled carpaccios, to chic La Sabra, part of the hotel’s country club. The jewel in the hotel’s crown is Italian restaurant Le Caravane, a sophisticated setting with low lighting and dark, carved wood paneling, serving the best Italian food outside of Italy—expect simple plates cooked to perfection (the lamb rack is really something special). The real hidden gem is Al Ain, a secluded, ornate dining room covered in jewel-tone zellij tiles with fabulously authentic Marrakech cuisine. Children get the star treatment with its kids' club, with one huge playroom (that includes an actual tree house), and to-scale fluffy sheep, as well as one very-petted llama. There are areas for arts and crafts, a reading corner, a connecting room for cooking classes, as well as a trampoline, heated pool, and slides outside. If that’s not enough, book a trip to the on-site farm which also has a tortoise zone. —Charlotte Davey"

From start to finish this hotel and its team provided a 5 star experience. We received a room upgrade on arrival and welcome drinks which was a lovely start to our 5 day holiday. The hotel is majestic with stunning decor and beautifully appointed rooms and areas to relax and enjoy a drink. Mouhissine took special care of us throughout and ensured we had everything we needed. The hotel has spa facilities and a wonderful golf course and we saw several couples split their mornings this way. The pool area is stunning with an abundance of loungers and beds to relax. We ate by the pool on several days and the team would set up a lovely dining experience. Flan looked after us in the day bringing drinks and food by the pool and ensuring we had enough shade. |The restaurants were a delight with live music and beautiful views of either the Atlas Mountains or the pool. We relaxed in the evenings with cocktails in the bar and it felt like a bygone time. |Our suite was just stunning and a wonderful place to relax with a separate balcony for us and the girls. A taxi service is provided to take you into the souk and we used this as well as our drivers recommendations of where to visit. Nothing was too much trouble for the team at the Fairmont Royal Palm and they made our holiday an experience of a lifetime.

The Royal Palm Marrakech clearly places customer service and guest experience at the heart of its offer. Staff were consistently warm, transparent, and generous with their advice, which made our stay truly enjoyable. We dined in-house four nights in a row, trying all the restaurants. Service was excellent across the board. While the variety is appreciated, some menu items could be elevated - in particular, the sushi and tempura didn’t quite meet the standard we’re used to in cities like London or Paris. The Moroccan restaurant was a standout, and the breakfast/brunch buffet was a highlight as well. That said, at this price point, additional à la carte or lighter breakfast options would be welcome. Given the high temperatures during our stay, I would recommend offering complimentary infused water throughout the property, which would be a thoughtful and refreshing touch. We did appreciate the provision of bottled water via room service throughout our stay. The view from our room - overlooking the golf course and Atlas Mountains - was breathtaking and added to the sense of escape. One small point to flag: the €65 charge for the hotel’s airport transfer felt steep, especially when compared to local private, air-conditioned transport which is typically €20, including luggage. Overall, a memorable and high-end stay with a few opportunities to refine the guest experience even further.

The place is beautiful, the rooms are truly very comfortable, spacious, and equipped with all amenities. I came for a business trip—the facilities are perfect for large-scale events, with great sound and unbeatable service. Breakfasts are very good with plenty of options. Lunch and dinner may fall short when it comes to vegetarian choices. The service and staff are an outstanding!

Fairmont Marrakech is quite good - it is a very large resort which never feels busy or overcrowded considering the total space available in the public areas. The service was above average and various staff seemed to know our name and room number for example at reception and in the restaurant. The quality of the room was excellent as well and worthy of the Fairmont brand. We found the hotel shuttle bus very convenient to go to city center.||I think this hotel is solid for infrequent travellers, meaning those who are not top tier guests of the Accor loyalty program, and also not part of the loyalty program of other hotel chains. However for Accor Diamond guests, the benefits at this property leave to be desired. The upgrade we received was called a "suite" but it was a suite in name only; the room type was received sells for barely 10% more than the entry level room and is also most likely the same weak upgrade that they give to Accor Platinums and Golds so the value of top tier Diamond status is not much at this hotel. I believe the only difference between our room type and the basic room is that we had a patio outdoors but inside the room I suspect it's almost the same. ||The elite benefits are even worse if staying during weekdays because breakfast won't be free, unlike other chains like Hyatt and Marriott where elites get breakfast every day, not only Saturday and Sunday morning. Last but not least, this Fairmont does not have a Gold lounge so there is no such thing as Diamond lounge access, it's not possible.||So while I can recommend this Fairmont to people who travel infrequently, upon returning to Marrakech I would personally try another property instead in order to get better value for the money. This Fairmont could be more generous with upgrades but they choose not to and regarding breakfast they simply follow the Accor rules which are less generous than others. That's unfortunate and it's what stops me from giving 5/5 and I must rate 4/5 instead.

What a lovely gem of a hotel in Marrakesh! We stayed in the villa and it was beautiful and spacious. The swimming and seating around our private pool was adding extra luxury. Food was amazing, great selection that suit different dietary requirements. Staff were helpful, attentive and polite.

Loved every part of this elegant and serene resort. Our room was huge, well laid out and comfortable. The grounds are beautifully landscaped thanks to the hardworking landscaping team. Breakfast buffet had a huge variety, special shout out for the amazing pastry team, all your pastries and breads were wonderful every day. Also loved the msemen of every variety, and the house green juice. The fitness centre is large and well equipped, with a gym and studio, heated swimming pool, table tennis, four tennis courts and two padel courts. Had a wonderful stay and only wish we could have stayed longer and had time to try the spa.

Beautiful and serene environment. Good transportation system to move around the vast grounds. Courteous and professional staff ever ready to lend a helping hand with a genuine smile. |I loved the idea of having a private balcony to soak in the early morning sun and a place to watch the sunset.
