If I could leave a 0 star I would. This place is trashy, and they treated me so disrespectfully. I am discovering new bars, and I became a member a few days ago, they have to scan your ID to do so. This time all I "apparently" had to do was sign in with my number, it shows my name and age. The Bar Tender with short blonde/brown hair still asked me for my ID. Whats the point of becoming a member then? I tell him I just signed in, I shouldn't have too (he doesn't ask my friend for hers). He said "WELL I DON'T KNOW YOU!" Why would he?... whatever, I give him the ID and he rolls his eyes. He doesn't apologize, if anything he gets cocky. Then the skinny dude with long hair who is the "bouncer" named ACE is an absolutely even ruder person, when he is the one who signed me up last time. I ask him do you remember me, he says yes you came in a few days ago but if the bar tender wants your ID he can get it, just because I remember you doesn't matter. He continued to mock me for turning 21 a couple months ago smiling in my face. I told him "You dont have to be rude..." and he goes "Well thats life". Uhhh this is the environment you guys deem normal? I tell him "You just made me have a bad experience here.." he laughs and walks off. They snicker together like little kids. Talk about "mean girls". Worst experience I have ever had at a bar in Asheville, let alone an establishment. And the people playing pool are no better. This dude jabbed my friend in the back with his pool stick because she was taking her shot?! Not to mention many people, including the bouncer himself SMOKING ciggs in the pool room when there is a designated smoke area outside. AND there is a no smoking sign in the pool room. They think if the door is open it makes it okay? Some people have asthma...? I left reeking. If you're an outgoing person, this is not the place for you. Definitely not women friendly at all. Just a bunch of rude stuck up negative men.

Just your great local dive bar ur Alex is amazing at the bar love him. The food is pretty good but the fried raviolis are my jam. Love meeting my friends here after work and it's a safe fun and friendly environment.

Went here with some friends to celebrate a post-sport match win. They require a membership to enter, and unlike other places that still do this, they don't allow guests to accompany members. While I was trying to read the terms and details on their sign-up iPad, the employee kept dismissing the screen as I was reading. I had to ask him to stop so I could finish. They also ask for, IMO, an excessive amount of personal information. I asked if I could just remain as a guest of someone who agreed to sign up—which is common at other membership-based places—but was told no, I had to leave. I genuinely don’t understand why this place still enforces memberships when the law requiring them has been repealed. Based on other reviews, this is quite common, and the quality of services and experience you get here is quite inconsistent. Clearly, I’m not their target customer—and honestly, thank God for that.

This was on my list as a place that served good Philly's. I'm bummed that the food was such a letdown because the back deck and grassy areas are beautiful little hideaways and it's clearly a place for locals. The bartender knew everyone and folks had their go-to orders. They still do the NC bar membership thing, but it's free. The bartender was super nice and helped me get signed up. You order at the bar and they bring your food to you. I ordered a philly and tots and went to sit on the back deck. The sandwich was unseasoned and dry and the tots were undercooked. I hate hard potatoes. Had the bread been fresher and had the meat been properly sopping, it could've stood a chance, but the only moisture in the sandwich came from the oil used to fry the peppers and onions, and at the end of the day it still wasn't seasoned. If I went back it'd just be to drink, and there's nothing wrong with that.

The Fairveiw Tavern is one of those neighborhood bars that seem to be dissolving in the diluted New Asheville experience. If you would like a “scooby snack” or a “blue crack” or some other dumb college freshman drink, maybe go find some other dumb bar in Asheville to drink at… you shouldn’t have a hard time. Good service, easy vibe, 3 pool tables, about a million dart boards. The food is really good for bar food. “The Tavern” has a tight, small menu with some usual suspects with their own Tavern twist. Nice porch. Nice big back yard with disc golf putting opportunities.

Had a nice time stopping in here and meeting up with some friends in the Asheville area. They have FREE POOL! And please scope out the size of their TV in the photos! I’m sooo happy I found a place to watch my games when in town.
