If you are visiting Amman, Fakhreldin Restaurant is a non-negotiable must-visit. We loved it so much that we returned three times during our vacation! The consistency here is remarkable; from the first visit to the last, the service remained incredibly attentive and professional.
Fakhreldin is rightfully famous for its extensive variety of hot and cold mezze. We sampled a large portion of the menu, and while almost everything was high quality, here are the standouts you cannot miss:
The "Must-Orders"
• Hummus with Awerma: This was the star of the show. It hit the "3 F" trifecta: Fluffy, Flavorful, and Fatty in the best possible way.
• Fattoush Fakhreldin: Truly one of the best preparations of this salad I’ve ever had.
• Jawaneh (Garlic & Lemon): A beautifully prepared, citrus-forward dish with a bright, punchy sauce.
• Kubbeh Nayeh: Delicious, but be warned—the portion is quite large for two people if you are ordering other mezze plates.
• Shish Tawouk & Fried Halloumi: Both were executed perfectly.
• Tabbouleh: Fresh, vibrant, and exactly what you want from an authentic Lebanese kitchen.
A Few Notes for Your Palate
While every dish was well-prepared, there were a few we personally wouldn't order again. The Mixed Grill (specifically the lamb and beef kabobs) felt a bit standard compared to the spectacular mezze. We also found the Labneh to be just "okay," and the Chicken Balls didn't quite hit the mark for us.
Pro Tip: Stick heavily to the mezze and the Shish Tawouk to experience Fakhreldin at its absolute best. This is a legendary establishment for a reason!
