Stay Away! There are COCKROACHES in this restaurant!
The most disgusting and unprofessional restaurant experiences I’ve ever had, and the owner of Falafel Brothers Roppongi needs to read every word of this because the situation inside this shop is a complete disaster.
Let’s start with the biggest red flag: a live cockroach crawling around our table. Not hidden. Not in a corner. Literally right where customers are supposed to eat. I’ve attached videos and photos because it was that blatant. If a cockroach is confidently walking around in the dining area in broad daylight, you can only imagine what’s happening in the kitchen.
But the real shock came from how the staff handled it — or rather, failed to handle it. One employee, who was just starting her shift, saw the cockroach and reacted with the most dismissive, careless attitude I’ve ever witnessed in any restaurant. She casually grabbed a napkin, stomped on it like it was a minor inconvenience, and then shoved it aside right in front of us. No apology. No concern. No attempt to reassure customers. Just a cold, irritated expression, as if dealing with a hygiene crisis in front of us was somehow our burden on her. The lady I am talking about is in the video. She’s the one in the white T-shirt reading the book.
This is the kind of employee who single-handedly destroys a restaurant’s reputation. Someone who clearly has zero interest in customer service, zero sense of responsibility, and zero awareness of how unacceptable this situation was. If management is wondering why customers don’t want to return — this is exactly why. Behavior like this drives business straight into the ground.
If the owner cares about keeping this place open, this employee’s role in customer-facing service seriously needs to be reconsidered, because her attitude alone was enough to turn an already terrible situation into something unbelievable.
In complete contrast, Allan at the counter was the only redeeming part of this entire visit. He was kind, respectful, and genuinely welcoming — the only person who acted like he belonged in hospitality. If you have even one employee worth keeping, it’s him.
When the hygiene is horrifying and the service is split between one good employee and one who could not care less, you’re left wondering what exactly this restaurant thinks it’s offering customers.
This place desperately needs a full reset:
– Deep cleaning
– Actual hygiene standards
– Serious staff retraining
– And a hard look at who is or isn’t fit to be working with customers
Because right now, Falafel Brothers Roppongi is running on the bare minimum — and even that is falling apart.
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in any restaurant. Never coming back. Never recommending it. Unbelievably disappointing.
