On the Grid : Falafel Man

"If there is a favourite of all of the traders at the Prahran Market it would have to be the Falafel Man. He has been plating up the best falafels outside of the middle-east for over 18 years. Home-made hummus, with a rotating selection of salads and freshly fried falafel balls make them impossible to resist. Go for the falafel lunch plate, you will regret anything less." - Self-Titled

Fresh falafel cooked to a beautiful golden crisp and moist inside. The fluffiest pita bread served warm. The sauce was quite heavy which made it quite sloppy, but the falafel and bread made up for that. Chips were on point too.

Absolutely delicious Yemeni food - the best falafel you'll get this side of Melbourne, and the Malawach wrap is a personal favourite. Highly recommend!

Dined in with friends. Ordered the big family combo platter with lots of extras. Did not disappoint. Falafel is 5 star. Service is 5 star. The only thing that can improve is keeping the door closed and heating on. It was chilly although we were inside. All in all great experience will be back.

Ok, so here we go, Falafels! Brilliant little things. Especially when put in super fresh pita bread accompanied by fresh ingredients. And thats what we got. Fresh ingredients served by friendly staff and at a great price! Booyahh! Couple of down sides, lacking a touch of texture and zing. Chips where gooooood... little bit oily but once you dip them in the amazing home made hummus it definitely improves. Great location with plenty of parking and a handy tram stop. Plenty of seating inside. Do I recommend this place? Hmmm, imma say yes if you’re after fresh and homemade. If you want the best in town, go to Brunswick. 3.5 stars.

I’ve been coming here for years and have found the food is always fresh but is bland with no flavour, all toppings taste similar, there is no garlic, lemon juice, salt or pepper in anything on offer, portion sizes getting smaller with the prices getting larger. The staff are rude, getting a smile from them is impossible, very disappointing, I kept coming back because it’s local and hoping it would improve, but it hasn’t.

Freshly made Falafel is the best. There are many places have Falafels, but a lot of them were quite dry and I didn’t like them much. The falafel in Omisi was absolutely delicious and fresh. Also very good value!

Loved the food !!!, there were no long waits , was very quick , I got a falafel pocket and was really delicious , very happy with the food and service. Would recommend for all falfel lovers , The falafel is actually good, not as cold &mushy as subways falafel 😕 The atmosphere is nice but perhaps cause it's closer to the main st there might be the noise of cars in the background but overall is a smiple nice place 👌

Yelp
Boy, am I happy this place opened up. My brother and I just started a vegetarian challenge for reason I am not going to get into now, but I don't think that it will be much of a challenge with all these falafels in my pita. They have only been open a week or two and I have already been there two or three times it's that good. That's it, I don't think I can sit here any longer, I have to get a falafel.

Yelp
I found this place by chance, while searching for best felafel in Melbourne and I totally agree, awesome food, good prices, big servings. Felafel plate was big enough for two easily for 18 bucks, need I say more. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Let's keep it short: think if the staff like the soup Nazi. They're neutral st best and outright rude at worst. The Falafel is ok - you'd get better elsewhere. What shines are the plates that come with pickles, salad and - together with the staff and other guests - make you feel a little bit like being in Israel for a moment. You might come here if you're a local, otherwise it's more of a try once and move on type of joint.

Yelp
Great falafel and Malawach. It's like going to Israel this place. The real deal. If you like falafel you can't go past Omisi.
